Used to love this place. Mother's Day fiasco proved they have no vision or understanding how to serve customers. Complete disaster and unapologetic staff. Wish I could give zero stars read more

I've been to Bardenay once before, back in August 2018. Now I'm here in Eagle on business, so I've been twice in the last 2 days. I'm so impressed with this bar-restaurant! The food is excellent, the prices very reasonable (especially when you're from California), and the service is top shelf! Every employee I've come in contact with, waits, bartenders, etc, has been extremely friendly, efficient, and just plan happy. Great facility! read more

Bardenay is Ok. It is a nice place, good place to hang out if you are looking for consistent, ok food where the hanging out is a higher priority than the food. The food is average. Typical bar type menu. Spring and summer are nice because they have a great outdoor area. We typically go here when we do not want to think too hard. Or we are itching for their fish and chips which is really good. I am NOT a fan of come in and sit anywhere. Which is what Bardenay is. So, on a Friday or Saturday when it is peak time expect total chaos and delays in anyone noticing you sat down. Do not be in a rush or for anyone to help you if all the seats are full. read more

What does it mean if you get the same thing every time you go back..... Love it! Price is good, and portions big. Very nice decor, friendly service, hit with local EAGLIANS.... One of top 5 restaurants in Idaho. read more

Definitely one of the best dining experiences in the valley. Lots of great food and drink choices and overall pleasant ambiance. The patio is lovely! The only major downside is that they don't take reservations and waiting for a table can take a really long time. A call ahead system would be a welcome addition! read more

The salmon is never the same but always excellent. I've eaten it a hundred times. My personal preference is for the version that is more balsamic glaze over the gravy version. Which is what it has evolved to. read more

Excellent food. Great brioche starter. Delicious clams, excellent burgers. Service was a bit slow at times and wait staff couldn't answer questions about what meals and desserts were dairy free. read more

Great food and drinks service was a little slow but well worth the wait! I would highly recommend it and will definitely be back.

Awesome service and fantastic homemade food. You have to have the Chicken Noodle soup.

I wish to publicly thank C. Hill, our waiter, today for wearing a face mask. I truly appreciate that. Especially since Idaho has a 100% high community spread of Covid-19 right now. I would have enjoyed my meal much more if ALL the waitstaff wore masks. The food was good-I've never had a bad meal at Bardenays. I gave the rating as "ok" because only a few waitstaff wore masks & the tables were too close to each other. read more

Great wine selection. Great bar! Bacon wrapped fillet was excellent. They also gave a pear cider that's not too dry and not too sweet. Also the bourbon moose cake, delish!!! Wife had soup and sandwich. Bread must have been from a local bakery because it was so fresh! Wine was great! read more

Great atmosphere, beer selection and moderately priced menu. Unique concept is a bonus. First time dining at a restaurant/distillery. Hopefully it won't be the last. If you like rum, you have to try Bardenay's. It's pretty unique (in a good way). Our party was equally split between ordering lunch and brunch. All were equally satisfied. I sampled the bacon from a brunch and have to say it's some of the best I've ever had. Service was helpful and prompt. Would definitely return to Bardenay. read more

This is my new favorite for patio dining for just a cocktail or an amazing steak. The waiter was everything a waiter should be. Very informative and knowledgable about the menu. Generous portions. We'll definitely be back! read more

Still one of my favorite restaurants! I usually go to the downtown location, but I love the Eagle location, too. The building is large, bright, spacious and on the water. It can be difficult to have a conversation when it's super busy, but I haven't been when it's been busy in a long time. I usually order the mediterranean steak pita with a cup of the bean and chorizo stew. But on this visit I ordered the fish and chips. The breading was crispy and golden brown, the cod was delicious and plenty of fries came with the dish that I didn't finish them all. The dish comes with a spiked chili sauce, a lemon wedge and cole slaw. I'm not always a fan of slaw as I find most places use too much vinegar in it, but Bardenay's slaw is nice and balanced. The service is always great. They even accommodated our two tables of adults and teenagers with ease! read more

Bardenay Restaurant & Distillery - Eagle - Fish and chips - New American Near Me - Eagle, Idaho

Great place. Distill their own rum, vodka, and gin. But you can get a drink with just about any brand of good booze. Great location and ambiance. No reservations though and can be really crowded at times. Nice patio though, but watch out for mosquitoes at times as it is next to the Boise River. Drinks are really inexpensive. Martinis for less than $6 each? Outstanding. Food is good and moderately priced. Try the fresh potato chips and french dip appetizer. We go back at least once per week. read more

Strolled here because I was staying at the Hotel next store. Greeting was extremely friendly, and the atmosphere was very unique from its decor to its floor plan. The wait staff was extremely attentive, and worked as as team when serving, clearing, and of course checking up. The food was exceptionally good and very cost effective. The only thing we noted after eating there two evenings in a row was that no manager had seemed to visit any tables.. this was not however a big deal as the staff certainly was in top of everything. read more

If you are looking for a place to drink beer and get loud and boisterous maybe this place is for you. If you are looking for a quality place to eat, You may want to reconsider. First, it is SO unbelievably loud, always, at meal times. The cacophony of noise is unsettling right off the top. Second, it's freezing in the winter. I have to wear my coat while eating. Third, the tables are too close together. Some are even lined up so close on a hi-bar booth that the people next to you literally feel like part of your group and know everything you are saying. I am a people person but this is ridiculous. These three things right here ruin a dining experience. Fourth, the food is continuing to go downhill. My taste buds are telling me they now have fillers in the beef patties, and then increased the pepper spice in them to cover up the meat flavor loss (but it doesn't). The french fries are a lower quality grade. They are nothing special to begin with but as they cool off ( usually before you get them) they degrade into cardboard. I ordered a rum and coke and it came in the short glass ( used for an old fashioned) , with ice up to the top. There was probably only a tablespoon of alcohol in it. Pretty displeased with the entire experience and its not the first time, been unhappy with the last handful of visits. Won't be back. read more

I have been going to Bardenay for many years. I really love their eclectic menu, don't love the acoustics. It's open and high ceilings and almost always busy so it's a little hard to hear table talk. Patio seating is amazing, graced by the river, in good weather. Their salmon in one is my favorites, their burger is amazing and albacore tuna sandwich or club is a no brainer. They also have a full bar and very accommodating wait staff! read more

I've been here several times and every time they impress me! I never get the same thing twice because everything is so good. This time around I got the Pad Thai and it was amazing! Great balance between spicy and sweet. If your not sure what you feel like, come here and you'll find something that calls your appetite. read more

Really good food! I've been to the Boise location (Grove) and Eagle. Eagle was better honestly, the service was great. At Boise we waited 20 minutes to have our order taken even though it wasn't busy and our server was visibly on their phone. Food was delicious, just wish service had been better- my water was empty almost the whole meal. read more

Nice atmosphere but pretty loud. Server was very attentive and knew the menu well. Located right on the Boise river so would be a great location in warm weather. Ordered the filet and while tender, it had no flavor. My red wine seemed warm but I still managed to have 3 glasses :-). Right next to my hotel so I have to say the location was convenient! read more

WOW, everything about this place is great! Can't go wrong here and I would highly recommend a chocolate martini for dessert!

Tonight we met some friends from out-of-town at Bardenay in Eagle. We like going there for their signature cocktail, and my husband swears they have the best greyhound in town--because it's made with fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice. On previous visits, although the food and drinks are always good, the serving staff has been mediocre. That is until tonight. We had the pleasure of having Chancie as our server, and she was engaging, personable, and professional complete with a sense of humor. She took great care of our table and made us feel welcome instead of customers being processed through. We'll be asking for her the next time we stop in. read more

I would come here more often but it is so inconsistent! The service tends to be slow, food is "meh". I'd only go here for a drink on the patio. Although the last time we did that the drink was served with a piece of mint garnish that was unrecognizable. Droopy and black. We'd be here all the time if it was just a little better because it's walking distance from our home. Unfortunately, they I really don't think they care. read more

Went to Bardenay for lunch- party of 6. Showed up and was told it would be 15 minutes and took down our phone number and our party sat/stood at the doorway. After 25 minutes and watching other large groups that arrived after us be seated, we returned to the podium to be told that the hostess was unable to locate our party. We were then told that a different table would be ours and they were waiting for the party to leave, after the party left the table remained dirty for the next 15 minutes. Resulting in a total wait time of over 1hour 15 minutes. At which time we requested a manager who apologized for delays brought chips and salsa and was not seen after which. After we were sat it took 45 minutes to order and then another 45 minute wait for food. Food was average but will not be returning to Bardenay. read more

For being the restaurant next to and servicing a hotel I am very impressed with the food. Prices are reasonable. They make their own rum and vodka. I took one star away because the service is slow. read more

We love the patio this time of year. We've never had a bad meal at Bardenay. The dining room is so noisy during peek hours but the patio is a favorite when we dine in Eagle. Drinks are always top notch! Good service as well. Great location for out of town guests. read more

Excellent food beautiful outdoor view with the Boise river running in the background! Great for date night and family dinners

I met some friends for happy hour and tried their wings with plum sauce. They were so yummy and meaty. I was so joyful and happy with my choice. Others around me tried the tacos, blackened shrimp salad and the satay chicken. Everything was very fresh and smelled delish. We sat outside and the patio is a perfect place to pass a few hours with friends read more

Love this place! So fun to meet friends here for lunch! The food is amazing and the service is great!

The hostess was friendly, that is why they don't get one star. The waitress said hello and then walked by several times. 36 minutes later because I text a friend after I was seated. 36 minutes she came and very rudely asked if we enjoyed our food. There are no food pictures to showcase simply because well after 36 minutes I had not enjoyed my food or the service and I quietly left. read more

My family and I were visiting from out of town and met our other family members at Bardenay for dinner. We had a reservation at 4:45 and were promptly seated on time. The service was great, the food was delicious. At one point, after we had been there for about an hour and a half the waitress advised us there was another reservation that would be arriving soon and they may need our table in about 15 minutes, due to some of the outdoor seating being canceled because of the weather. A few minutes after, the manager came up and told us they had remedied the seating situation and to "relax and enjoy our drinks and life." Great experience!! read more

The burgers are not great (at all), but everything else I've had is really good. Pork carnitas sandwich is the best!

Always delicious, consistent with great service! The albacore tuna sandwich is simple but yummy. My daughter enjoys the salmon. Great place for dinner or lunch read more

Bardenay Restaurant & Distillery - Eagle - Sitting on the patio on a spring day - New American Near Me - Eagle, Idaho

We had dinner for 4 here Mon 09/25. Pleasant ambiance with seating on outside patio. Service fast and attentive without overwhelming. We had flank steak, New York steak, shrimp pad thai, and ceasar salads, plus appetizer. Food was all good with nice plating presentation. Only negative was New York steak having a bit too much gristle and fat, but good flavor. We recommend this establishment and will return on next visit to Boise from Portland. read more

One of the worst lunches I've ever had--my sister and I wanted to spring our mother from her senior living apartment for a meal out and thought Bardenay would be fun. It was atrocious. Not the service--the service was actually great. But the food, UGH. read more

My husband and I went to the Eagle location of Bardenay last night; this was our 41st anniversary and we wanted to do something special. Made on-line reservations a couple days prior, and were thrilled to find a 7PM opening on the patio. It was described as being enclosed, so we figured that it would be comfortable. When we arrived, we were shown to our table, which was indeed in an enclosed patio area. There were hanging string lights that gave the area a warm glow, and the quiet was a pleasant change from the extremely loud indoors environment. The only drawback was the temperature - it was about 50, maybe 55, and not a heater in sight. We asked about having a heater brought out but were told that they had all been taken down in preparation for summer. We asked about a table indoors, but being a Friday night, there was nothing available for more than 45 minutes. We decided to tough it out, and ordered a nice Cabernet to enjoy with dinner. Speaking of dinner, it was deserving of a five-star review. The chef was able to accommodate my lactose intolerance and replaced the Madera sauce with his own seasoning on my filet. It was delicious, as was everything else that we were served. The service was fantastic, and the wait staff was very kind; I think they felt sorry for us, because by the time that we left the outside temp was down to 41. My husband and I tried to ignore the ambient temperature, but it just wasn't possible. What should have been a quiet, intimate celebration of our marriage turned into a shiver-fest. Our message to the manager of Bardenay Restaurant and Distillery in Eagle is this: WHY ON EARTH DID YOU ALLOW THE ON-LINE APP TO OFFER SEATING IN AN AREA THAT WAS OUTDOORS AND HAD NO HEAT AVAILABLE? And, why was there no contact from anyone who identified themselves as a manager once we were seated? Several waitresses checked on us throughout the evening, but no one said they were in charge. It would have been nice to have some acknowledgment of our discomfort and the restaurant's error in seating us in such an inhospitable setting. We never heard from anyone in charge. I wish that I could leave the 5-star review that the food and the staff deserve, but I just can't in light of how miserable we were. As a result, I can only give one star to a place whose managers need a refresher in basic hospitality. read more
