Mother's Day at Bardenay was a joke! We were told no reservations yet there were people in line with reservations. Stood outside for 2 hours with no communication as to what line we needed to be in. They were still setting up the patio for seating at 10:30 when apparently they opened at 10:00. It was a joke! Finally got seated. Buffet was ok. Buffet lines were even unorganized and people were tripping over each other. Even to get to the bathroom you had to cross over the kitchen staff going down the hallway. My food was cold by the time I got to my table. My son and I also had 4 dirty plates we had to set aside. I'm not impressed with the buffet items. It was like thrown together and very simple. The omelet was ok but they were extremely slow in making them since there was only 2 people cooking them. I won't go back. The noise level is also awful in there. I've had dinner there before and it is just ok. I think they need step it up with more flavorful food, get organized, and train their staff better on service. read more

We came in on a Friday with a party of 9....no reservation. We waited less then 20 minutes to be seated. We had a herd of hungry, restless kids and Benji was AWESOME!!! He was patient and recommended an appetizer that had no wait time to soothe the hungry beasts. Our food came in an average amount of time and was DELICIOUS. I highly recommend the Pho! And when my dessert obsessed kid requested fried ice cream they went ABOVE AND BEYOND and found animal crackers to make it happen!! We then took a giant bag of desserts to go and could not have had a better time. KUDOS!! And Benji...you are a prince!!! THANK YOU! read more

Love this place! Inexpensive drinks, great food, beautiful scenery! This place is a staple. Would recommend to anyone!

This place is just ok. The food was average but our waitress was grumpy. Drinks were over priced and they weren't that good I think they used a cheep him on my drink. The one in Boise is defiantly better. read more

This is the worst service possible. 2 times in a row ordering food 4 hours in advance and they still give it to you 30 minutes late. Attitudes are bad by the servers. This is a restaurant that obviously doesn't want customers after the lockdown. read more

First time, Saturday, 6pm. Place is packed. Sign it is a good place right? Well service was terrible! We didn't get served until 7:20. I ordered the Portuguese Clam, they were out. So I ordered the Sashimi Salad. It was just greens and pieces of raw tuna. What I thought it was the dressing, was plain soy sauce, but had already poured over the salad. The salad size was so small I thought it was a side salad. So I left and went to Albertson's to get food because I spent $30 and was still hungry. read more

We have liked this place in the past and especially for lunch. Decided to go there for our anniversary on a Sunday night and were disappointed. First, having to seat yourself is very awkward not knowing if you're going to find a table on the patio and ours needed cleaning. Witnessed several parties wandering around the patio looking to find a table going back and forth. My wife ordered a steak sandwich and wasn't asked how she wanted it and it came well done like a piece of leather. Service was slow and my meal didn't seem that fresh or appetizing. Overall it seemed liked they weren't managed well or didn't put enough effort into it. read more

Everytime I come here is a great experience. Food is good and drinks are a plenty. The jalapeño cheese soup on Tuesday is my fav. Fun, light hearted atmosphere and also on the green belt which is a plus. read more

This is our favorite restaurant in the valley! We love taking out of town guests here, and they are always impressed. The patio is gorgeous- a must in the Spring & Summer! It's a great place to bring our young kids, as it is on the louder side and we don't need to worry about our kids being too noisy. (That said, this place kind of has a bar atmosphere- we often take the whole family, but usually choose to reserve Friday or Saturday nights for a grown-ups only night out. It's completely family-friendly, just our personal choice since those nights are pretty busy.) On that note, a fair warning- this is a seat-yourself establishment. It can get crowded on Friday nights especially, so plan to wait a bit. Much easier to do with a drink in your hand! The food and drinks are consistently great here. We love the menu- anyone can find something to suit them. And the prices are amazing- seriously a great deal for the quality of food. The dressings taste homemade, which I love- not your usual overdone fare. When we moved to the area 10 years ago, we were told we had to try this place for the fish & chips- it's still a great meal! Some of our other favorites- Club sandwich (not your run of the mill with too much bread!), Meatloaf sandwich, Yellowfin Tuna Club, Salmon, and Trout. And their burger is one of the best! Their Sunday brunch is wonderful- always good and totally affordable, even with cocktails. We recommend the Spicy Chicken Benedict and Breakfast Martini. Their bar is the best- great beers on tap and nice wine selection; we love their inventive cocktails, along with the classic standbys. The house squeezed juices make for the freshest and best tasting drinks- we're fans of the margarita and mojito. This is a go-to for us on a regular basis and definitely worth checking out! read more

Love Bardenay. We especially love to sit out on the patio by the river during the warm months! Several great salads and sandwiches...portabello mushroom and chorizo sandwiches are my fave. Great sides like the blue cheese coleslaw(so good) or I've had several tasty soups of the day. Also love to go for happy hour(early evening or late) for cheap apps like satays, fries, and hummus read more

This is one of my favorite places to go in the summer. Great location and great cocktails. The food is tasty and well done. They make their own liquors so those are always delicious plus happy hours and late night snack options. The food at the location in Boise is just as good but I prefer this location. Can't wait for patio day drinking weather. read more

I've enjoyed their happy hour twice now, the hummus & Kabobs are a fantastic deal! I've had the steak, Chicken, Salmon (my favorite) & shrimp. All great! Their Iced tea is good too; fresh & not out of the gun! read more

Service is typically not so great but sometimes it leaves me happily surprised. The food is delicious!!! The server suggested I try the chorizo stew and it was great. Also I love getting their sandwiches sans the bun. And the cheese plate is a must for me. The candied walnuts are great and the dried fruits or apples are a nice touch. Like I said; Great food, typically so so service. Never once been greeted or asked how things were by a manager. In fact, I've never even seen one... read more

Holy moly, great menu, great location and amazing service. One of my absolute favorite restaurants in Treasure Valley. I had the yellowfin tuna sandwich and it was to die for. I'll order it again for sure - wish some extra wasabi on that bad boy. Interesting favors going on with that sandwich. Loved it. I've had other things to eat at Bardenay, and they too were great - the trout, the salmon, just everything is so good. Highly recommend. read more

First off......good on you for having a special gluten free menu. I had the pork chops with fennel and they were amazing followed up by the chocolate torte which was top notch. I really enjoy the twist they put on the food here. However for a place like this, I do expect a little more out of the service. Although it was not bad service...........it was not great either. read more

Phenomenal food, great local beer (Outlaw IPA is my favorite) and the great personality and warmth of Boise I've already seen in my two days here are enough for the 5 stars. But...this place also distills their own vodka, rum and gin. While I can't drink gin, I have never had a smoother vodka in my life! And the Ginger rum cocktail is pretty good. Come here and try it, I'm a huge fan!! read more

We visited for Sunday brunch. The food was decent and the service was good. I ordered the Sweet Potato & Black Bean Chimichanga. The portion was huge and I had plenty leftover for a second meal. It was a little louder than I would have liked but you can't beat the view and location. We went for a walk along the river after which was pleasant. It wouldn't be my first choice for brunch but I'll probably go again when we can sit outside. read more

I had the salmon salad with the greens, candied walnuts, etc. It was great! I loved it. I want to go back very soon. I love the decor, and the service was excellent. I will be back very soon. read more

We went to Bardenay's for Mother's Day and we expected it to be busy, but the poor service and lack of organization was extremely disappointing. According to the info on their website and voicemail, they don't take reservations so we had been prepared to wait a bit, but there were people in the long line when we arrived that claimed they did have reservations which caused a lot of confusion for many in the line who thought everyone would have to endure the wait. After waiting 2 hours to be seated (and we still had to go up and ask to be seated instead of getting called within the time frame they'd given us), we were sat at a table outside with water dripping on it and then left by the hostess with no direction of who would be helping us or how we would order. It turned out that they were hosting a special buffet for Mother's Day but it hadn't been advertised or announced at all as far as I could tell. If we had known it would be a sub par buffet of unoriginal breakfast food, we wouldn't have bothered waiting for 2 hours, but at that point we were all hungry and just wanted to eat. All in all, we left as soon as we could and were very upset by how chaotic and un-special it made our Mother's Day brunch feel. Maybe on a regular day the service would have been better, but the experience we had does not warrant a return visit or recommendation. read more

Yikes. In sat at the bar and ordered a bottle of wine. Fruit fly frenzy. Yuck. The bartender gave me a coaster to put over the top of my glass so I wouldn't have flies swimming in my wine. Isn't this a health code? I am afraid to try my food just in case fruit flies like satay. read more

The location is beautiful. It is right on the river surrounded by trees, so very peaceful. As far as the food, I wasn't that impressed. I had steak tacos, which is a pretty simple dish. You get 2 tacos, so if you're quite hungry, you better order more food. Also, my tacos had zero seasoning. I hate adding table salt to my food, but this had no choice. The tacos were pretty basis on corn tortillas. Since my dinner was so light I decided I wanted to try their coconut or carrot cake. They were out of both...at this point I'm over it. I'll take the check please. So, I'm leaving still hungry ans not satisfied. The waitress told me that it os normal for them to run out of a lot of things on Sunday's...not cool. One thing they do have is an extensive drink menu, so that's a plus. read more

Came here with family over the Christmas holiday just a week ago. It's a nice place and I'm sure their food is good... Unfortunately I didn't have the best experience... Why? I ordered the Korean Fusion Tacos after seeing some huge Beef Tacos at the table next to ours. What a stark difference. While the Korean version has a healthy portion of meat in each of the two tacos you receive, the tacos themselves are actually small and only adorned with the kimchi. On that note, the kimchi is the only source of flavor in these tacos aside from the flavor of the corn tortillas they are served in. Seriously. There is a paltry amount of seasoning on the pork, like none. Blah... A marinade would have been something to write home about, but this? Also to note, you get two wedges of lime and a single leaf of lettuce on the plate... no rice, no salad. I'm not sure what else one might put on a plate to accompany fusion food but I was expecting SOMEthing on the side, Jeez. And I think the price was around 10 bucks... Not worth it, in my opinion. Too be fair, I've never had this variant of taco, but have seen them on menus from Denver to Portland, heard great things about them, too. I left disappointed considering the anticipation... I had a Bardenay Greyhound with my meal and it was great. They use fresh squeezed grapefruit juice and they put a good amount of booze in it. So I left happy, in that regard. It kind of sucked because all around me my family members had ordered sandwiches and salad and they were quite sizable and came with sides. Well, except for the salad my mom ordered. They all liked their food... Damn. read more

Planned to go here for Mother's Day with my family. 1st Mother's Day for us in 12 years. We made 2 phone inquiries this week to verify the hours and menus for today. Arrived at 4:00 pm to a sign that says they aren't opening until 5:00. Evidently they were so busy they had to delay an hour. That manager should be fired. That us such poor business....especially on Mother's Day. Now we are sceambling trying to find somewhere else that can handle 18 people. read more

As there are not many options in Eagle, this venue was chosen out of need rather than want. First off, it's first come first served, so when you walk in you seat yourself. Granted, we arrived at around seven on a Friday evening, but there was literally one table remaining and it was located in the worse location. Right near the kitchen and what felt like in a main walk way for customers and servers alike. The acoustics are horrible as it's designed basically like a pole barn. Our party of four ordered cocktails... I ordered a greyhound. This is a VERY simple cocktail. Vodka and grapefruit juice. When my drink arrive there were more grapefruit seeds than vodka in the drink. It was literally impossible to take a sip without having to either swallow or spit out seeds. The table ordered the smoked trout dip and the Mediterranean platter. Both were underwhelming. As an entree I had the ahi tuna salad. The greens were absolutely drenched in the dressing and because the salad also had diced tomatoes and roasted red peppers, the entire plate was a soggy mess. The feta and Kalamata olives made it way too salty and the fish literally had zero flavor. Only one person in our party finished their meal, the rest barely finished half. No one asked for a box. I have to admit our server was fine. No issues there. But I will never return. When you go to a "local" joint and you can honestly say you've had better at Applebee's ... Save your money and keep looking when in Eagle. read more

Loved this place! Had the smoked trout pate with the best homemade pita bread that were served warm and soft. Pickled onions, capers and slivered onions made this dish delish! For a main I had the pork tacos with kimchi. Great and just spicy enough. The pickled onions tasted great on the pork tacos also. read more

If only it were possible to leave a negative number of stars!! I have always thought this place was so overrated........ it's always half-full of pompous Eagle folk who only go there because they've been told it was good, and like the emperor parading around naked with his "new clothes," they don't realize there is nothing there. I've been to this restaurant, if you can call it that (I've had better food out of a taco truck), about 5 times, all because one of my blind friends will assure me I just tried the wrong thing. The only menu item I've ever had here that was any good was the sweet potato fries. I've actually started a list in my phone of restaurants at which to avoid the Caesar salad. ........Bardenay is at the top of the list. It was my wife's birthday dinner, and she wanted to go, because she loves sitting outside by the pond (BTW doesn't make up for how bad this place is). So we go, and we end up waiting for over an hour for our food (not exaggerating)!! After other people who were seated after us started getting their meals, we were starting to wonder if we'd been forgotten. We catch eyes with our waitress who is inside talking to the cooks and pointing over at us. She looks nervous. Then she comes to tell us it will be right out. Another 20 minutes later, and we get our mediocre food without an apology or a single word from the waitress. She pretends like nothing has happened. Needless to say, I will no longer be patronizing this crapwagon of a restaurant. read more

Have been around 30 times over the years. Never had a bad meal. Decent service. Great atmosphere, although can be loud at times. Food has been excellent and consistent every time. Bond martini is great. Really enjoy the salmon and satays. read more

Bardenay in Eagle is a great place to go for a good meal and drinks at a great price. They make a STRONG drink so be careful! Try the mojito or whiskey sour. I've heard a lot of people say they've had issues with the service during the last few months but we've never had a problem and I do believe they got quite a few new staff members so have patience my friends. Wide selection of menu items and their specials are always interesting. Gluten free-friendly, even a gluten free menu. Beautiful outdoor dining if you like on the patio right by the river, otherwise lots of seating inside. read more

Consistency. It's what makes the good restaurants great! I've visited this location several times and nothing changes. The food is always great (I usually have the special) with a house made rum and diet and the service is predictable. Seat yourself, fast ticket times and good service. My favorite Eagle restaurant for sure :) read more

The food is really really delicious, and this is a great restaurant if you have allergies. I have a lot, but they (very pleasantly) helped me find something I could eat. I had a chicken sandwich on ciabatta with grilled onion. I couldn't have the cheese (dairy allergy) or tomato aioli (soy allergy), but the sandwich was perfect without. The chicken was so moist and juicy, I didn't miss the condiment at all. I'm SO going back next time I'm in town (or, maybe I will go over tonight, since I'm leaving tomorrow). The service was incredible too. read more

Came here for lunch on a beautiful sunny day and was thankful for the umbrellas in the patio! Got a club sandwich which was really tasty and a fresh-squeezed lemonade which was fizzy, which I liked. I tried their signature cocktail (ginger with rum) and it was tasty as well, though I got it more out of peer pressure from my father-in-law than the beer I was considering. Would definitely come back as it seems like it'd be great at night! read more

The food is any where from good to really good and this place has the best bar vibe in Eagle...easily. It also has one of the better patios when the weather allows. Service can be a little slow at times but that only seems to be the case because they're understaffed. read more

This used to be a go to place in Eagle. I always order the same thing - the Panzanella Salad with Grilled Salmon. Two years ago, this was an amazing salad. The last three times I've had the salad, it is disappointing to say the least. The salad continues to get smaller, and seems to have mediocre flavor compared to before. They've changed from fresh mozzarella to the mozzarella balls - just not as flavorful. The other ingredients are skimpy. (Even the salmon didn't have it's usual depth of flavor). The price has gone from $14 to $19 and the salad is simply not worth it. So disappointed. Come on Bardenay - you have a good thing going with location and wait staff. Let's get the food back up to par. read more

Great atmosphere! Dining on the patio has been a mainstay for my family and friends for years. In all the time the salmon has consistently been very good.
