Highly anticipated but failed to live up to expectation. Overall ambience is great, the best part of the restaurant is perhaps the courtyard rather than the food. Overly complicated menu for steak selection. We had three different cuts of steak and none were good. Either too sweet , not enough salt, or not seasoned well. The price point is comparable to Barclays Prime, but the quality is nowhere near it. Hope they can do better and Figure it out read more

Not a great sign when the best thing about a restaurant is the house music they are pumping in. Cold reception by the hostess at the front door, two side items were forgotten about and not brought out with our selections of beef, to which the waiter responded, "oh yea, it's on the ticket, not sure why they didn't come out." Not an apology at all. Forgot the b1 add on as well. Ask for my strip medium+, it was medium rare. The cocktails, however were superb. The house music and cocktails are not enough for us to come back though. For fabulous steak, we'll continue to make the trek to Philly. Bardea steak is not ready for prime time. Pun intended. read more

Beautiful place with amazing food. If you only have one meal to eat in Wilmington make sure it's this place.

Service was good, was a bit to loud, portions were tasty but small. Wasn't expecting to pay $400 for only a party of only 4. One and done for me... unfortunately. read more

Got a last minute reservation while in town visiting friends, and it was the highlight of the trip. Completely surpassed expectations!! I am a pretty picky eater, and not only tried but genuinely loved the kangaroo and elk. The steaks were incredible, and the staff had an incredible knowledge on the menu. I love the concept of the "steak flight" to be able to try various types of steak next to each other. Everything we ate was so flavorful, yet perfectly balanced. I've dined at a lot of great restaurants across the country (I'm an event planner - so menu tasting is in my job description!), and this was by far one of the best experiences I've ever had. read more

Beyond excellent. This was an outstanding experience from start to finish. Reservation was confirmed the night before, which I appreciated. We had a 7:30 Friday night reso and our table was ready immediately upon arrival. Every staff member we interacted with went above and beyond, especially our server. She reviewed all of both menus with us so we had almost no questions. The menus themselves are physically beautiful and so well put together. The selection is also, of course, amazing, on all menus. Our cocktails were both excellent, both "signature" cocktails I believe and we both had a Guinness second. We had a lot so I won't describe it all but we did enjoy it all. Some highlights were the tiger prawn cocktail & dates en nogada. We went with the zabuton option for steak, with 3 add ons. For add ons we did B1 sauce, beef garum Au jus and lobster butter. The B1 sauce is incredible. I will be honest and say neither of us were fans of the lobster butter. We also had Mac n cheese for a side and that was super yummy & rich. I can't wait to return here! read more

We went to Bardea Steak during its soft open and got the chef's taking menu for my wife's birthday and to try it out. What a fabulous experience:) First, I have to say that the volume of food in the tasting menu overall was a bit too much for us, but it was the experience we wanted and great way to try everything. Before we got to the mains, the appetizers and raw courses really shined. There is a ton of creativity here, and the balance of different tastes and textures in each dish really sang. Favorites included a diver scallop (that had layers of brown butter crunchies, a hibiscus gel, and a buttermilk sauce); a beef tartar "noodle" dish that simply incredible; another tartar served in the shape of a cow with a grownup cheese-it on top that was made of liver and cheese; and a beef heart empanada. The skewers we tried (Ostrich and Elk) were tasty, but not quite the texture we may have been expecting. Lamb "porterhouse" was great, as were the two steaks (an Angus filet and Chianina Ribeye) we were only able to barely start before our bodies said, "No Más!" Even so, we made room for macarons served with a really intense passion fruit reduction, which was a good decisions. We took the other dessert, and a bunch of leftovers, home. All the while wet got excellent descriptions from our server, who solicited feedback on each course (which is perfect during a soft open). We felt really well taken care of. This place is already great, and it's going to get better. read more

Underwhelmed! My wife and I went to Bardea to celebrate my wife's birthday so this was a huge splurge for us. Everything on the menu is à la carte, including $2 for water?! I was expecting to be wowed by the service and quality of the food, unfortunately that was not the outcome. Our server was brusque and seemed rushed most of the time. The menu is confusing and when explained led us to believe that one should order many small plates (similar to Tapas) and then the main event being the steak. We ordered 4 small plates and a filet mignon steak. The small plates were larger than expected and the steak was overcooked, the rest of the food we were served was average. Needless to say, we could not finish all the food and could have saved some money had the server been a bit more accurate when describing the portion sizes. The drinks were average and as everything else on the menu, pricey. The ambiance was nice, the music a bit loud, and a new one for us was the 3% employee benefit charge tacked on to provide employees with health benefits. Seems to me that a high end restaurant $$$$ could afford to provide benefits from the profits that undoubtedly make. read more

When I dined there, I really enjoyed the food, but there's something I think I should warn other diners about: On top of a 20% tip -- on an already expensive bill -- the restaurant automatically added a 5% "employee benefits fee." I believe employers should pay for (ideally robust) employees benefits, not clients (or at least bake it into the price of the food -- which, again, was already high -- instead of adding a fee on top of a gratuity on top of a bill). The fee is mentioned on the menu, but it's very easy to miss, so I just wanted to send a word of warning out there for anyone to factor this into their mental budget if they're considering eating here. read more

We came in without a reservation and the wait was about 25 minutes which isn't bad for a Friday night. Our waiter was exceptional and very informative. My friend and I ordered the Wagyu which we didn't love but her husband ordered the chef's tasting which was definitely enough steak for all of us so we were able to indulge. Over all the experience was good. Not sure if I will return but it was enjoyable. read more

First time at Bardea Steak and was not disappointed! But loving Bardea, I knew it would be an Amazing experience! Snacks were delicious! Our group got the Butcher's Feast and it was perfect! It is the one restaurant group I always visit when I'm in from Los Angeles! Chef Antimo has stepped up the game big time in the industry! Congratulations Antimo and Scott! read more

Ordering a steak is challenging. Everything at twice the price and half the size you expected. Cool and trendy. Slow and bored service. Wagyu steak overcooked and smothered in pepper. Would return for drinks only. Comically expensive. read more

Just went to Bardea Steak for our two year anniversary and was very disappointed. Our waitress was cold and seemed to not want to serve us. The price for a ribeye is over $100 (prices aren't listed). She questioned us to make sure we were ordering two steaks, concerned about payment. But that's not the real issue. They marinade and sous vide the steak. This process changes the texture of the steak. Delfrecsos is upscale and you get great service and a real steak. We tipped 15% instead of 20%. We won't be back. read more

First impression - nice interior but the music was very loud. Especially when most steak houses have a more subdued atmosphere. It was hard to hear ourselves or our server. Service was good enough - though we had to ask for a refill on our water. Speaking of water - we were asked if we wanted flat or sparkling. At Bardea they provide it without charge as it's their own not bottled. Here at Bardea Steak they add a $2 surcharge per person. When I asked about the charge I was told it's because it's filtered 5 times. I understand charging for bottled water - but not if it's just in-house filtered. When I stated it was absurd that they charge for filtered water it was removed from the check. But it is extremely off-putting. Food - we tried a type of steak that was new to us - Chianina. We didn't enjoy it very much and would not order again. Mac and cheese was good as was the house salad. Overall - we love Bardea but would not return to Bardea Steak. read more

This is the IN place in Wilmington. Beautifully decorated, gorgeous really and the food is just outstanding. The steak flight is a great way to go if there are a few of you. It is easy to get carried away with the ordering because everything is so good. The 'plates' can easily be a dinner if you share a house Caesar, which was the best any of us ever had and the overstuffed potato. No way anyone could eat either side by themselves. Staff was excellent. read more

Atmosphere and service was fine. Steak menu is very confusing and oriented to larger gatherings. Smallest options for the better steaks are 30 ounces or bigger. Ended up ordering the Picanha 10 oz and most of it was fatty and chewy. Disappointing at $5/oz. Wine was also just average. I would recommend this place if you are with people that are impressed by pretension and high prices. If you want a good steak and glass of wine go to Costco and buy your own. read more

First time here and we will absolutely be returning! Our server Phil was so knowledgeable and walked us through the whole menu. He was such a wonderful server! From start to finish our meal was amazing. Bone in filet was to die for (literal tears in my eyes) read more

Update: after speaking with the manager, we were refunded 50% of the steak. The manager was so apologetic and appreciative of the feedback. Amazing customer service! We will def be back! My husband and I visited Bardea Steak for the first time over the weekend for our wedding anniversary. Let me first start by saying that we will splurge for special occasions but these kind of high end restaurant is not our normal out to dinner spot. With that being said, our server went over the menu with us (as first timers) and explained each meat choice, so we thought. We were made to believe that when we ordered the rib-eye, it would be for 2 people. After receiving our bill, it was in fact for up to 4 people. Leaving us with a very shocking, $250 steak. Definitely not what we wanted to spend. Everything was delicious but we were so taken a back by the steak issue that it ruined the night/experience. I do know that we were not made aware of any steak options for one person which is why we chose to split the ribeye. We were told there were 20, 40, 60oz options. So we said, ok we will do 20oz. Then we're given 50oz. Again, completely unaware. I don't want to place blame on my server maybe it was a miscommunication but the cost of the dinner was not worth it to us and the menu is very unclear. We were very disappointed that options weren't explained better and now we are out $500. read more

I had the pleasure of dining there this week. Simply outstanding. The food is novel and delicious. The staff is exceptional. The space is warm and inviting. I cannot wait to return. read more

Our waiter was very good. My wife I and ended up spending $435 for 2! We each had a cocktail, hors doevre, steak, bottle of $64 wine. We took 1/2 of the bottle home. The drinks were good as was the hors doevre that we shared. The steak you have to buy at their size, at $5 an ounce. We had to pay $235 for the steak. Are you kidding me!!!! The steak had 7 oz. of bone. We weighed it when we got home. So we paid $35 for the bone! The steak was average in taste, a little tough. We probably cut off 6 oz. of fat. Another $30. We were surprised to be charged for tap water AND if you wanted bread, you had to pay for it. Gotta be kidding me! At their outlandish price you have to pay for bread and tap water. Also, there was a 3% employee health charge. Since we couldn't fault the waiter we still gave him a 20% tip. You can go to Harry's for a lot less and better cut of beef. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY GOING TO THE BARDEA STEAK HOUSE. read more

nice place. great atmosphere. charged 8 dollars for tap water for 4 of us. also added an employee service charge. this was not considered a tip. the food was good. the menu was confusing. the waiter Jason was not at his best. He kept rushing us to order. He tried to take our plate as we were still eating and he spilled that 8 dollar water all over the table by over filling the glass. Disappointing for a James beard hopeful. read more

3 hour service, complete with a returned steak for being overcooked (well done vs. medium), 45 minute wait for desert, deceptive drink pricing(invoice and menu prices don't match), and deceptive parking charges(unmarked). Sketchy service and deceptive business practices. read more
