The atmosphere is relaxing and it's a place that has potential but felt like an experience was lacking. We were seated and you're given four different menus. Our server was polite but we weren't really walked through any of the menu items- we only received recommendations because we asked for them. We ordered the Australian Wagyu and honestly I've had better steak, was disappointed for this being a steak house. My partner ordered the picanha that come served with a chimmicuri. This plate was super delicious! Definitely worth trying if you're looking for something new. The bernaise is also delicious! But is an added cost on the side. The sides were super underwhelming. We got the loaded potato- one small potatoes cut into slices, served in a creamy sauce but had no flavor. The broccoli was also super disappointing. Even with a tomatoe crema, they tasted like they were scorched in the oven. The chocolate cake dessert was honestly the best part. The total wasn't bad- the wagyu was $44 and the other was around $55. I'd probably give this place another try if I'm in the mood for red meat, but wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for a place to celebrate an occasion. read more

Ambience outdoors - good Decor outdoors - good Plates/serving dishes- simple and tasteful Steak knives - blunt Service - fair Side dishes - fair Steak ( the main event) - completely over marinated/ flavored and lacking salt. So very disappointing. We remember going to Bardea restaurant when it first opened and experienced odd flavors in our food too. read more

Cocktails are phenomenal, the ambiance is modern and sophisticated, and the steak is AMAZING. Also get the dates on the appetizer menu, they melted in my mouth. Highly recommend read more

Visiting the area for work, was recommended to try because local coworkers love original Bardea. Ambiance - 4/5: Esthetic is nice and will probably be even better during warmer months once outdoor seating opens. Music nice but a bit too loud. Hard to have a convo without yelling and couldn't hear server very well. Service - 2/5: Greeting by hostess was lukewarm at best. Sever very soft spoken and rushed through explaining the menus. Newer restaurant so a little time to help your patrons understand how you prepare your items would have helped. Nothing came out as expected but we also didn't know what to expect. Whenever we questioned anything the server would say "it's not a normal...". Ex. Ordered glass of Sauvignon blanc, had a weird bite to it. Asked the server if it were truly S.B. and her response was "well it's not your typical Sauvignon blanc". Why would you not say that when we ordered it. She seemed to be in a rush to take our plates away while we still had lots of food on the table and deep in conversation. Would be understandable if steak and sides were gone but not even close to empty. Felt rushed even though restaurant was only 3/4s full. Food- 1/5: I'd probably give a 0 if it weren't for the cube bread (that she offered but then charged us $8 for but I digress) and the Cabernet. There for four of us. We ordered the chef's steak sampler, loaded potatoes, spinach pot pie, and Mac & cheese to share. We ordered the steaks to be medium. Out of the six types they sent out, most were medium well with well done end pieces. Crunchy and tasteless, tasted like not even salt and pepper were used. Can't remember all of the cuts but we did have a ribeye that was extremely disappointing. They came with a chimichurri, a raspberry sauce, and a house Demi glaze. The chimchurri, although green, tasted like pure oil. The raspberry sauce and demi were both decent. The sides were odd. The loaded potato was a full potato cut into 4 pieces with a sauce on the plate. Sauce had to have been flour based because that's what it tasted like. Creamed spinach pot pie was spinach in a beefy tasting roux like base in a croissant like crust. Not good. Very odd as the spinach was just wilted spinach, no garlic, seasonings, just spinach in a roux in a croissant. Mac and cheese had an odd after taste. Not sure what but not good. Out of all of that, 4 people left enough food uneaten that another two people could have eaten. $300+ for an very disappointing experience. Had it not been a business dinner, I'd be livid! read more

Bardea steak was an EXPERIENCE. I didn't know what to expect since I'm not the biggest steak fan out there, but Bardea Steak did not disappoint. They had something for everyone - our party of 6 ordered about 10 small plates and the steak tasting board. We spent at least three hours enjoying each dish and had some incredible cocktails as well. I would definitely recommend going with a larger group so you can order multiple dishes and get a taste of everything. Can safely say this is in my top steakhouse experiences to-date! read more

Bardea Steak - Steakhouses Near Me - Wilmington, Delaware

I stopped in around 9:45pm, secured a seat at the bar and ordered some random items with no rhyme or reason -- everything was fantastic! The halibut was buttery with a super crispy and properly seasoned skin. The elk meatballs were good. The mac and cheese was out of this world good- I had one bite at the restaurant and ate the rest the next day (unfortunately no photo). Last but not least, the "little" chocolate cake! When I ordered it, the bartender gave me a warning that it was not so little but I was still surprised when they brought out a whole chocolate cake! I haven't been able to stop talking about it - dessert is the best part of dinner for me and this was one of my favorite chocolate cakes I've had. As for the ambiance, intimate and warm energy inside and the garden area looks amazing. read more

Amazing meal and experience, I was a first time visitor celebrating a birthday!!! Truly a gem, to me this shouldn't be compared to a "traditional" steakhouse because this is all about introducing people to specific types of steak that you wouldn't get or have prepared anywhere else. In my opinion this restaurant puts most steakhouses in any city to shame. Everything that came to the table was a work of art, hit 10 out of 10 in terms of taste. We got the butcher's feast, red cabbage, loaded potatoes.....(loaded potatoes was ridiculously good), carrot cake, and lavender honey gelato for dessert. All I can say is if I ever had to decide on a last meal it's coming from this restaurant!!! 5 stars all the way, well done Bardea and Chef DiMeo, I'm looking forward coming back soon! read more

We were a party of six and the seating was comfortable, Not crowded or too close to other patrons. The waiter was friendly and helpful. When I looked at the menu I thought the prices for sides were kind of ridiculous, but the waiters tour of the menu explained that the sides were intended for two or three diners. They were. My main complaint was that none of the food was served warm enough. Plates came out hot, but the food wasn't. The loaded potato was undercooked. The mushrooms were delicious. The house salad was very fresh and tasty. Four of us shared the Butchers Feast plus add on. The steak was cooked as ordered, medium rare, and was tender and flavorful. Again, by the time it was rested, carved, served and a long winded explanation by the server, it was lukewarm at best. I wouldn't choose to return, but others in the party would. read more

Eclectic small plates with a seasonal menu offering. Beautiful presentation of dishes. We sat at the bar for our Valentine's Day dinner. The service was quick and well timed for our shared small plates. Each dish was described perfectly when delivered. As an added elegant touch, guest received a rose to celebrate the day. read more

I really don't say this lightly, but Bardea may be the best restaurant I've ever been to. It is for sure the best steakhouse. I'm not much of a steak eater but my carnivorous date made me try a piece of their steak and it was phenomenal. The ambiance is very stylish and kinda sexy. Or as sexy as a restaurant with a case of dry aged ducks on full view can be. I loved the vibe of both the bar and restaurant sections. And the fantastic service really pushed this fantastic meal over the top. we tried a smattering of what felt like every appetizer that they offer. The lamb tostada was the stand out for me, as it was an inventive dish that was very flavorful. So it seems that the steaks are in a small selection of sizes that you don't really know about until you order. My date was interested in the washugyu ribeye just to find out that the only one available was like 55 ounces or something crazy like that, and over $200. Thankfully he was feeling like a baller and was quite hungry so that didn't bother him, but if money is a concern then you may have to shop around and see what they have available. Though again, Washugyu was the most delicious steak I have ever tasted. I got the salmon and even that blew me away. Every aspect of this restaurant was incredible and I can't wait to go back some day soon. read more

We had a wonderful dinner! Service provided by Jack was knowledgeable and friendly. The food was outstanding, including Tiger prawn cocktail, steak, Mac and cheese, mushrooms, hamachi and mussel toast. Good wine by the glass selection. We were seated in the side room which definitely lacks the swanky vibe of the main dining room. Highly recommended! read more

The food was good but the service was...horrible. Two hours waiting to get food? No one checked on us after we got it? No explanation why it took so long and a paltry 15% off for the wait. Absolutely not worth the price charged and would not recommend it at all. You can do vastly better for the same price. read more

I wanted to love it. I went with a party of 6, and when we got there for our reservation time, we had to wait 30 minutes to be sat. There's no where for you to hang out waiting for your table, so we were just constantly in everyone's way. The music was so loud, that sitting at the far end of the booth, I couldn't hear one word that our server said, or for that matter, people in my party who were not directly next to me. The apps were delicious- I think we tried 5 or 6, good for sharing! We got two tasting boards, and they were a great mix of cuts, and we all agreed on a different one as our favorites. I don't suggest the loaded potato or the Mac n cheese- neither had much flavor. Our service was lacking. We were often going 15 minutes or more without seeing our server. For the price of our meal, I'd expect to be wowed with the service. read more

Small menu, but one of the only places to get real Japanese Wagyu. They are willing to accommodate special requests.

My husband and I went to Bardea for Valentines Day. They had a special menu as well as their regular menu. I found this restaurant online and wanted to try something new. The atmosphere was very cute, modern chic. The food... especially the steak was AMAZING. I was a little jealous of the table next to us bc they had a charcuterie board of meat and I wanted more lol. The prices were a little high but worth it in my book. We will definitely be returning! read more

I had the filet and the steak was bursting with flavor! The potato was probably the best I have ever eaten. It came in squares that were lightly fried. The sauce was absolutely amazing! The salad was even better than most places. Overall the best meal I have ever had in Wilmington. You will not be disappointed here. read more

By far, my favorite restaurant. The Butcher's Feast is a culinary journey through five cattle breeds. Mac n cheese, loaded potato, smoked cabbage ... each bite a taste blossom. The staff is professional, knowledgeable, yet friendly. Combine that with a sophisticated ambiance and a sound track that builds through the evening finding a beat in everyone. Kudos to Chef Antimo DiMeo. read more

Bardea Steak is a restaurant where the food becomes irrelevant due to its ambiance and the mediocracy of its service. The expectations for service excellence are unquestionable when you pay a 4 oz of Japanese Wagyu $130 and a markup of 55% for the wine ordered. Unfortunately, our experience last Saturday was very unsatisfactory. Let's start with the ambiance. The restaurant is extremely noisy, which makes it challenging to have a relaxed and enjoyable conversation as you have to raise your voice or move closer to each other to be able to hear. Throughout the entire time, we experienced inferior service; the waiter could not occult the haste of his actions. We ordered bread that came with olive oil for dipping, and before we finished it, he took the oil away; when he changed the silverware for the main course, the knives ended between the forks and soup spoon; I ordered a coffee and I have to recall the waiter about it and when finally came it was cold; the check arrived even before it was requested, I proceeded to pay with my Visa and the waiter came back saying it was declined and left. I immediately called the bank for an explanation. The bank informed me that the establishment should have inserted or slid the Visa card into the credit card terminal because of the amount of the check and security reasons and not just tap it as they did. I expressed to the waiter my dissatisfaction regarding the credit card issue, and the manager came and accepted the mistake of his employee; however, he did not offer any resolution; his only focus was to know my level of satisfaction with the food, which at that point the value of the food was lost as my disappointment with the whole experience increased. In conclusion, Bardea Steak is a no-go. read more

What an absolutely brilliant, fabulous and exceptional dining experience. My fiance and I were going to dinner with another couple, and they made the arrangements and the reservations. The two of us had heard a lot about Bardea Steak, but had never been. The restaurant is beautifully appointed, and the team is so wonderful and on point. We were quickly seated in the middle of the dining room, and our waiter could not have been better regarding attentiveness and recommendations. The cocktails and beer list were amazing, and the food itself was perfect - we had a few small plate, tapas-style shareable appetizers and all were delicious. The steak is obviously the star of the show, and with good reason. My 16 oz filet was perfect, and the sides and desserts were great as well. While it is not an inexpensive meal, it was well worth the splurge and we will absolutely be back. Nothing better than going in with high expectations and having them exceeded. This place was stellar and we loved it. read more

Had a nice family meal. Our waiter was super. Knew menu and explained well. The restaurant has a pretentious aires about it and waiter fit in well. Sort of mansplained everything Good : sides were excellent. Mushrooms, Mac & cheese, salad all top notch. Great wine by glass selection and good cocktails. The just OK: we all had steak of some variety. The texture of the meat was funky and very soft. Seasoning and cook were great. Our conclusion was the meat was sous vide. Several of us commented independently about this. I guess this is personal preference, but in all high end steak house I've eaten at I never experienced this mushy texture. The Bad: parking in downtown is horrible at best. Valet ( $25) works. Menu announced surcharge of 3% ( not a tip but contribution to employee health care). That really bugged me. Don't know average check, but this is a top dollar place and I assume it is north of $ 125 per person. If the owners want to "honor" their staff, maybe it should come out of their side of the ledger. It was just an ok restaurant. . Would I go again? Probably not. A lot of steak houses with better beef and less social engineering. read more

My co-workers and I love this place! The food is delicious, it has a nice atmosphere and it was close to my old job's garage. I was looking forward to eating at Bardea Steak. Overall, the experience was good. The steak was good. Two of us had the picanha and two had the New York strip. The steak was cooked perfectly to everyone's request. I had the elk skewer as well. One of the best icees of game that I have had. The cocktails were also well crafted and showed an attention to detail. The twice baked potato was an experiment that did not pan out. It was supposed to be deconstructed but turned out to be dry wedges. The house salad was good too. read more

I was really excited to visit Bardea Steak as OG Bardea is one of my favorite restaurants to visit. I will start off by noting that this restaurant concept is still in its infancy and has oceans of potential for growth and improvements. The decor fits the cuisine and the drinks were great. Some dishes were a miss some were a hit. The turducken croquette needs some refining as it lacks any real seasoning or flavor profile. The golden guernsey croissant was also a huge miss for me. The croissant was too hot and lost almost all it's defined layers and the whipped ricotta was lackluster. Lastly, the Kombu and cream was also a miss. See pics for more comments. Everything else was PHENOMENAL! The skewers, the lamb and a few non pictured dishes ( scallion salad, king Amman, beef heart empanadas) are inspired and i highly suggest trying them. I cannot wait to see how this restaurant grows! read more

My fiance' and I celebrated our anniversary with Bardea Steak Restaurant for our first time. "The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with soft lighting and gentle sounds of conversation." Our server Daniel, served us a gourmet meal that was so beautifully presented, it was simply wonderful Daniel provided excellent, courteous service with a friendly smile, making dining experience even more enjoyable and with the help from Darnell . Also having the pleasure of one of Bardea top servers, Luke Marshall to join us to finish off our wonderful evening, with Luke to be jubilant to share being part of Bardea work family. We will surely recommend this exquisite Restaurant. Thank you, Tiffani and Rob read more

Party of 2, Celebrated a birthday here a few weeks ago, waited well over an hour for our entrees. During that timeframe, our waiter came over once to tell us the food would be right out... just disappeared after that, steaks came out subpar, sides were sitting under the warmer for so long that the tops of them began to burn. Multiple tables sat down after us and received food before us. Overall crappy experience to celebrate my 40th birthday. Oh, and upon the review on OT, I'm assuming a manager responding to the review requesting my information. When I provided that info, the response was "how can I help you". Steer clear of this place. read more

Love the fact there's 2 restaurants (Bardea and Bardea Steak) side by side only separated by a nice outdoor seating area where you'll be able to order from both locations soon. My wife & I already loved Bardea so we decided to try the new "Bardea Steak". Somehow the decor is temporary but we loved it. The ambiance was pleasing, the staff was great (Jamie our server was excellent!!!) and the food was phenomenal. Combined we ordered wine, martinis (the way the house makes them with Kettle Vodka, so good), oysters, other "snacks", ostrich skewer, a steak and dessert. Let's just say, I'd like to try everything on the menu because everything was scrumptious. The only negative is they don't open until 5, because with a job that's remote I'd love to go there during the day to hold meetings etc. Highly recommend. A+ read more

Atmosphere is fun and engaging but it took an hour to have our food come to the table. Service was very good but it seemed that the larger groups were getting the attention from the kitchen. Portions were small for the prices but the cocktails were excellent. read more

Attention to detail. There are a lot of high end steakhouses and most are predictable and you can get a good piece of meat that is cooked right. Bardea does this but better. Everything that comes out of the kitchen is an event. No details are left to chance. There is thought and artistry put into each dish. When food comes out for other tables, you can't help yourself but look to see what others in the restaurant have ordered. The meal starts with a bread box of onion scone and brioche. The scone is exquisite. We had some of the composed oysters which are omg good and the charcuterie board. The wonderful collection of preserved meats are served on a pink Himalayan serving block. Fantastic. At the next table they got a deconstructed burger which was cooked table side. Way cool. Also the wagyu empanada was superb. Every aspect of the meal rocked. The service was spot on. The staff is well trained and obviously well taken care of. Oh and yes the steak was first rate and served at the perfect temperature. It was a lovely evening and reasonably priced for the quality of the fare. Anyone who complains about paying too much for bone-in Wagyu steak doesn't understand what it's value is. read more

Service: Adequate. Food: Was told that some/most meats are cured/brined and then cooked. This explained the 'mouthfeel' similar to a pastrami. Wow, Bardea Steak, what a great and unexpected delight in Wilmington Delaware! Our dining experience was second to none and probably the best dinners and experience we have ever had in this state. There were steak and seafood options that were presented in the menu that I never heard of and luckily the chef offered a menu option that enabled our group to experience a taste of each. Coupled with delicious wines and that cubed bread, yum! Definitely going back for seconds and excited to try their Italian restaurant next door... Just called "Bardea". read more

So amazing. I can see why this was on vogues most anticipated openings. We started with the cubed bread to keep it simple. It was so buttery and flakey. We'll have to go back for the steak, but for our first time we wanted to try some of the unique menu items. We tried an ostrich skewer, elk skewer, and the kangaroo chili. All delicious and cooked to perfection. Also ordered the house salad for greens and even that was incredible. Not to mention the tasty cocktails and best glass of rose I've had in a while. Highly recommend for a special date night or celebration. Although we'll be going back, it's a bit pricier than we typically spend on a night out. read more

This restaurant is VERY lucky they have an amazing chef. From the beginning things were going well. The food was amazing. We ordered a $150 steak medium. It came out well done. The manager and chef were very apologetic and made us a new steak with a free side and dessert. The dessert took 45 minutes to arrive. We just wanted to leave. They lied on their menu about the price of Basil Hayden bourbon. It was a 3 hour experience that should've been under 2. All in all, wouldn't go back which is disappointing because the food truly was amazing. This is an instance where the service/management truly ruined the experience. My boyfriend and I had reservations for Bardea steak for our anniversary. We went on a Saturday night and it was busy and loud! It was energetic and lively. It took a while for our server to come over, and when he did, he didn't introduce himself, it was quick and rushed. I assumed it was because he was busy, and I didn't really care. We ordered drinks which came out quickly. The menu is large and daunting and we needed a lot of description from our waiter in which he was very knowledgeable and helpful when asked. We ordered the house salad which came out quick and then the butcher's feast- which was a steak tasting and the Mac and cheese. It took about an hour to get our food and when we did, the steak wasn't hot, but the Mac and cheese was scalding. For desert, we got the kid n' play which was absolutely delicious. Overall the food was good, but for a restaurant where you're paying for experience and quality, it was just okay. read more
