One of the most opulent meals I've had in a while. We had a $125 gift card, a birthday, and a bill I wasn't expected to foot which made for a good yelp review. We walked into the spot around 5:45PM. Not too busy at this point. A style reminiscent of fibbage 3 of jackbox set to a psychedelic beat. Appears to be popular among the 30-somethings. Well-dressed, young servers with a friendly work culture and dimly lit yellow light type of vibe. Service was appropriate and formal yet personable. We were given insight on the menu and were walked through all of the steak options. We started off with the drinks. Our server, Austin, suggested the lemon drop and espresso martinis were some of the best on this side of the Mississippi. You could taste no alcohol in either of these drinks. The lemon drop was sweet with strong lemon-head-esque flavors. The espresso martini might be mistaken for an espresso outside of this context. I had a boring old fashioned which tasted like a sweet citrusy bourbon. The drinks overall were tasty and I would not be reserved about ordering one but they can run the tab pretty quickly. The menu is divided into snacks, steak, sides, and other entrees. The snacks are a bite or two among a party of four. 2-3 sides and an entree will feed a party of 4-6. We started with some snacks: the brioche buns, Swedish meatballs, and lamb gnocchi. The brioche buns had a soft chewy interior and a honey-glazed, lightly crispy exterior. They were served with a pad of butter that tasted like butter. This will come out sooner than your other snacks. It is advised to eat this with your saucier dishes but we couldn't wait that long. High value for your meal. We approached the lamb gnocchi next. There was half an ounce of braised lamb in a brown sauce over a home-made gnocchi in a pool of spiced broth. The braised lamb was melt in your mouth tender which paired nicely with the lightly chewy gnocchi. Almost a bite as satisfying as mochi although the texture was completely different. The curveball was the broth. If you've had Maggi noodles (an Indian instant noodle staple) it tastes almost exactly like this broth except maybe a bit thicker. This was a fun dish. We indulged in two sides: the house salad and the loaded potato. The house salad tasted like a creamy Caesar with crunchy bits. Good variety of greens textures. It's no roots natural kitchen but certainly goes well with the meats and starch you'll encounter at bardea. The loaded potatoes also paired well with the beef. I think the potato was simply sliced into 1/2 slices, breaded in panko, and deep fried. Similar in flavor to a McDonald's hash brown. A rich, smoky white sauce accompanied the potato slices as well as the green sauce which I don't really remember. We shared a delicious whole branzino as well. We were given the option to have the head attached or detached. My fave part is the head, eyes, and cheeks so detachment was not an option. It's mostly deboned but there are some bones so be careful. No sauce but there is intense flavors in the crispy skin. The Angus porterhouse was a steak. Well-cooked to medium rare. Seared well on the outside and perfectly medium rare on the interior. Some cartilaginous bites that I didn't mind bc I have a bad habit of swallowing food. The rare seared fatty bit were my favorite. I love beef and this was a real treat . I am a student and this meal was my significant other's family treating me to a luxurious meal. Bardea facilitated a phenomenal pseudo-formal time to dress up and hang out in a celebratory fashion. However, this meal was very expensive. The value of the experience was okay. We ended up paying around $70 per person. If you like steakhouses, this isn't so bad although I might suggest hitting up Trolley afterwards if you're trying to have a comprehensive Saturday night.
Stopped back in for a date night this time. We were excited to have some good drinks. Each Bardea location has great drinks. Everything we ordered this visit was really good! The service at bardeas is always the best honestly. This time the only thing I noticed was the entrees came out warm. I was honestly surprised since it was steak, salmon, and a loaded potato. We still ate it all and it had great flavor. I would still also recommend this to location to anyone.
Tonight was my first time trying out Bardea Steak and I was not disappointed! We made a reservation online and were greeted upon arrival and our table was ready. (Quick note: making a reservation requires a deposit of $25 per person). The drinks took a while to come out. The cherry limeade was pretty good but weak. Our waiter gave us the rundown of the menu, which isn't very big but there were a lot of cuts of beef. My friend and I decided to get the following: shrimp cocktail, cheesesteak empanadas, the butcher's board, the chef's cut (short rib), bone marrow, and sides of Mac and cheese and the mushrooms. Everything was great but I wasn't a fan of the bone marrow because of the consistency. If you don't like jelly consistencies I would pass on that one. The meat was cooked to perfection and the mushrooms were fantastic as well. Overall, it was very good. Expect a pricey meal for the food and experience. I can't wait to try what other restaurants the Bardea group has. 4.5/5 stars
Classy place, attentive service, courteous staff. Even though my party was difficult, (we went from party of 8 to party of 6 then 4 and an hour into our meal, 2 showed up) the staff took.it all on the chin and delivered really good service. We ordered most snacks on the menu. The tater tots with crab were the best! Chicago roll close second, bread was soo memorable! Gnocchi was very close third! Shrimp cocktail, shrimp tacos, meatballs, empanadas and tostadas were very tasty too! The steaks were fabulous! Even the half I took home and reheated! The purple cabbage side was delectable.
So recently I was blessed to take a work trip to Wilmington, Delaware. While we were there my co-workers and I were recommended this great steak place. Now I really love steak houses and some times it's a hit or miss. However, this time it truly was a hit and I have to say if you get a chance to experience this wonder restaurant please make it a must. The experience was amazing and the food was nothing short of delicious and work of arts. Our server knew exactly what he was talking about and recommended some of the best things on the menu. This restaurant was a small quaint little place but let me say it was definitely up scale and worth every penny. I am not a wine person but boy did we try some great ones that really complimented our food. If you get a chance please try out some great food.
Bardea Steak was a nice foodie experience. Not only was the quality of the food excellent, but the staff was friendly, and they had a wide selection of food. I order several items from their menu; next time I will get a steak. However, the branzino was incredible, nicely grilled and seasoned. Oysters were fresh. I definitely recommend trying the compost oysters; they were delicious. I order several appetizers before my main meal; it was nice that they came out one by one and not all at once. ` All the drinks ordered were great. I would come again just for the drinks. My favorite was the passion espresso. Wasn't a fan of the calamari, but everything else I would recommend over and over again. The garden seating was beautiful, and I felt like I wasn't even in the middle of downtown wilmington. Can't wait to come again to try their other food selection and drinks.
I am a huge Bardea fan! I think this is one set of restaurants that can compare to restaurants in Philadelphia. This is my second time at Bardea Steak and it was a great experience BUT not as good as the first time. I do like that they have Happy Hour which allows you to try a small portion of their menu. There is even one vegetarian option on there! This time around the cocktails were just okay. They had a fruity espresso cocktail that they bartender raved about... would not get again. I tried the empanadas and they were delicious but I also got a house salad which was a big portion but it truly lacked flavor and some parts were pink. Now this time the HH menu bit me based on technicality. Classic cocktails are considered part of happy hour which are not listed in the actual menu, only signature cocktails. Something to beware of next time. Great place with incredible staff.
I visited Bardea Steak with my mother to celebrate her being a 10 year cancer survivor, and my cousin. This was our first time there and we loved it. Our server Darell was great! I started with jumbo shrimp cocktail and calamari, while my mom and cousin had caesar salads. Both were good. I really enjoyed the calamari. It had a sweet and sour sauce on it. I usually don't like sauce on my calamari but it was good- not overpowering. My mom and cousin liked the salad. For entrees my cousin and I had the whole bronzino and mommy had the NY strip steak. We had Mac and cheese, broccoli, and loaded potatoes for sides. We loved the bronzino and mommy loved her steak. She likes hers prepared well done and this chef did not miss. My mom said it was cooked to perfection and maintained its tenderness and juiciness. The bronzino was crispy on the outside and soft inside. It was seasoned well and very flavorful. The broccoli was another hit. The sauce on in is delicious. For drinks we had lemon drops which we were all pleased with. We moved on to different flavors and they were all good! Some of the best we've had. For dessert we had bananas foster and Strawberry Crème Brûlée. We all loved the bananas foster. This was non-traditional Crème Brûlée, and we would not order it again. Food, Ambience, and service was great! We had a wonderful time here.
This was our first time art Bardea steak and it was definitely a five out of five! The atmosphere was super nice and classy, and our waiter was very very attentive. He got us water and then got our drinks for us and then came back to read off the menu and go over a few other things. We decided to go with the Aberdeen Angus in a New York strip cut and the Piedmonte's in a fillet cut. Both steaks were cooked perfectly and had the right amount of char on top. For sides, we opted for the mac & cheese and the broccoli di ciccio. The mac & cheese was absolutely amazing as was the broccoli. The broccoli had a nice kick to it from the chili, which I loved. We ended with dessert and both decided to get gelato. I got the chocolate banana and my partner got the tropical! Both delicious! This is definitely a place we plan to frequent again. I would love to come with a group of four and try the steak tasting experience.

The whole experience was fantastic! The food was amazing, and our server, Darrell, was great--so knowledgeable about the menu and gave us some excellent recommendations. I'm definitely coming back soon!
Crab gyoza was amazing and staff were nice. Even at happy hour pricing, still an expensive spot. Might possibly return for happy hour, but probably not for dinner as nothing else was very impressive.
On a recent visit to Wilmington, Delaware, I was drawn to Bardea Steak by the extensive praise and awards from prestigious culinary organizations. A quick glance at the menu and its detailed descriptions left little doubt that the restaurant well deserved its reputation. Offering unique twists on familiar flavor profiles, it promised a spectacular dining experience, and it absolutely delivered. Located in the heart of downtown Wilmington, Bardea Steak is situated among several other praiseworthy dining destinations. The building itself has been beautifully refurbished, retaining its rustic character while introducing an elevated, modern, yet comfortable feel. It had a great vibe inside and out. I was greeted by a staff full of friendly charm, and they provided exquisite service throughout the entire meal. After ordering a beverage, I spent some time reviewing the menu. Each dish featured an intriguing and slightly mysterious title and description. I highly encourage you to read through each item before making your selection. Most importantly, ask questions; the servers are fantastic at shedding additional light on what each plate has to offer. The Hamachi Bomb was one such item. A locally celebrated favorite, this dish is a creative twist on a traditional Hamachi roll. It features the freshest sushi encapsulated in a crispy nori shell, served alongside a well-balanced soy dipping sauce. In all honesty, the Hamachi Bomb was incredible on its own, but the sauce complemented it perfectly. Ditch the utensils here, you'll understand why the moment you try to use them! The dish offers a wonderful combination of fresh ingredients to kick off your night. While it is served as four small rolls, they are surprisingly filling. With an impressive array of surf and turf options, I was ultimately drawn to my favorite cut of steak: the New York Strip, featuring their Aberdeen Angus. It was a stunning bone-in steak boasting exceptional marbling and an elevated, rich flavor profile. Cooked to absolute perfection, it arrived at the table beautifully sliced to capture every single bite of that incredible beef. Frankly, it was one of the best steaks I have ever consumed. For my side, I selected the roasted Broccoli Di Ciccio which came tossed with a flavorful lemongrass curry and chili crisp. It was packed with bold flavor and served in an abundant portion that perfectly matched my generous cut of beef. Overall, my dining experience at Bardea Steak was exceptional from beginning to end. The service was superb and incredibly friendly, making an already out-of-the-world meal even better. The restaurant's endless accolades and high ratings are entirely deserved, it is no mystery why the dining room was packed. From the excellent bar offerings to the vast, creative menu, this spot hits every single mark. While seafood lovers will find plenty to enjoy, their true mastery lies in their beef, which is prepared with expert precision and genuine TLC. If you find yourself in Wilmington, Delaware, do yourself a favor and make Bardea Steak a destination. It is a truly fabulous restaurant. Bon Appetite! read more

Beautiful restaurant but likely best for dinner dates or small dinner parties due to the size of the restaurant. Food was excellent! Portions can seem small but are more than enough if not shared. If you're looking for a nice outing with a friend or partner, I strongly recommend this place! read more

We had a great date night at Bardea Steak. The atmosphere is great. The service was great. Our waiter was new, but very knowledgeable. The food was delicious. Some of the portions are small, but the flavors are definitely there! Our only complaint was the wait. We had reservations but were in there for far too long. It took forever to get our drinks, bread, and food. I'm not sure if they were understaffed or if this is normal because no explanation was given to us. read more

Went to Bardea a few weeks ago and participated in the tasting menu. It was 10 course and each course was so unique and made with care. We did not feel rushed at all throughout the process, the waiter took his time to explain each course. The ambiance is moody and dark which is perfect for a steak house. I will definitely be going back. read more

We loved our who experience at Bardea Steak for date night this week! The service was exceptional. The filet and ribeye were so tender you almost didn't even need a knife. The broccoli and the mushrooms had such captivating flavors that paired perfectly with our steaks. The cocktails and wine were perfectly paired with our meals. Would love to try more on the cocktail menu! Will definitely be back again! read more

It was my first time patronizing Bardea Steak; as I have been to Bardea many times. It was a great end to a night at The Grand Opera House. I removed most pictures from my cell but these are what remain. You will not be disappointed! Food, service and ambience is top notch. I would venture to say I enjoyed it more than the original Bardea! read more

My husband and I came here for a date night and are already planning our next visit back! I've been thinking about our meal here every day because it was so sensational! We began with the creamed chipped beef croquettes which were perfectly savory and incredible. We also ordered the lamb gnocchi which were our favorite bites of the whole year! The gnocchi were perfect little cloud pillows and the tikka masala lamb on top was so flavorful and well seasoned. For our mains, I had the Japanese Wagyu, which obviously lived up to its reputation of being buttery and beyond tender. My husband ordered the delmonico which was so flavorful and sumptuous with the guava bernaise on the side (a must get!). We shared the loaded potato on the side which was not your traditional baked potato but so soft and flavorful and tasty. For dessert we shared the bananas foster and it was exquisite! A truly stupendous meal from start to finish, and one that we can't wait to have again! read more

The atmosphere was lovely, very intimate and ideal for a date night. As for the food, we made the mistake of ordering something other than steak. While the food was perfectly fine and we finished our dishes, it was not worth the very high price. Not to mention the portions were minuscule so it wasn't hard to clear our plates. The best dish we had was a fancy carrot...and it cost $15.00 so you can imagine how much the rest of the menu was priced. Always remember to order steak at a place with "steak" in the name. read more

A dining experience with beautiful decor. They easily accommodated 8 of us + a toddler with excellent timely service & much appreciated menu guidance. Started with a cocktail each and then got 2 bottles of wine to share with the table. Perfectly predicted what we should order to get the most out of the meats, sides, and desserts. Highly recommend the butchers flight if with 4 or more people as well as the lobster roll(my favorite), the burnt ends and the bao bun appetizer was the crowd favorites. The tasting for 150$ they couldn't do for our big party but the waiter did say it encompasses 90% of their menu and my husband and I will definitely be coming back to do that! Keep in mind this will not be a cheaper dinner but in my opinion a unique steak lovers experience well worth the cost. read more

Took my wife here for our anniversary. The atmosphere was very nice. We had the Butcher's Fest and were not disappointed. Our appetizer and sides were equally as delicious. Our server Phil was absolutely amazing, on point with suggestions when asked and anticipated our needs throughout the evening. Definitely the best all around dining experience we have had in Wilmington. read more
Looking for great food, great service and a wonderful ambiance? Bardea Steak is the place for you then! We went here for the first time recently, attending a private event. What we first noticed was how clean and cozy the inside was, inclusive of a fireplace even. The staff was friendly and sat us right away. As appetizers (again we had the benefit of being at an event) they served vegetables with sunflower hummus, tomato pie, and elk meatballs. Honestly every single one was amazing. The hummus was super flavorful with a delicious hint of lime. The meatballs were melt in your mouth soft. The tomato pie was super thick. Next came the house salad with toasted almonds and cured egg. Again, just so tasty and a great combination of flavor. For the main course I had the picanha, which is a cut of steak from a Holstein that has a good amount of marbling, which means it was also juicy and flavorful. I really tried to savor it but it was just so good and I probably ate it too fast. My significant other had the filet which is a sirloin that comes from an Australian Wagyu. He also ate it pretty fast as it too was tender and juicy. Both steaks were cooked to perfection. As an added bonus, there were water containers on the table so we could refill our waters as we needed, which is a touch I always love (as I drink a lot of water). Then finally, as the grand finale, we had dessert, which I don't know what it was called but it was strawberry filled goodness. That's the only thing I actually took a picture of :) All in all, I'd love to go back. Yes, it is pricey, but it is an upscale restaurant and seems like it would be great for a date night, anniversary, birthday dinner or any time you just want to splurge. read more
Bardea Steak was really good and they do a fantastic job with food presentation. The steak was delicious, as it should be, and we had a bunch of other tasty appetizers. Personally, I really was not a fan of the ostrich or the beef tartare, but I will say that the red cabbage, dates en nogada, and red snapper, along with the steak (of course) were some great choices. I really enjoyed the macaron ice creams and the dulce & bananas dessert. Overall, I would recommend if you're a steak person, but be prepared to bring $$$. read more
