I can't speak for the menu food. We just had the buffet only yesterday. Although I've been coming here since the 1970s, I even had my 16th birthday party here, and a company Christmas party. I was extremely disappointed in the buffet all around. They list what MAY be available on the buffet. They advertise it as a seafood buffet. Well, there were no crab legs, although you could purchase them in addition to the the already pricey $39 "seafood" buffet (for the meager offerings). No crabs. No rockfish. No clam chowder. No shrimp skampi. No seafood salad. None of the more expensive items. Basically, bottom of the barrel offerings, and nothing that we went there for. I left there hungry and feeling ripped off. The only really good thing where the raw oysters. And theyre damn near impossible to ruin. All of the shrimp were over cooked. Mealey and dry. The creamy seafood bowties were inedible. The fake scallops were dry, tough, and very fishy. And as per the rest of the shrimp, they were cooked to death. I will say the garden salad, while simple, was pretty good. There was no ceaser. The fried oysters were the absolute worst ever. Over cooked, bad batter, dry and tasteless. The roasted oysters with a thick chunk of rubbery bacon, were hard to tell what they were. The clams casino were just ok. So much topping that it was hard to find the tiny little clam under all that. The so called "crab balls" were stuffed with a very dry tasteless crackers or bread crumbs but they should be called bread crumb balls. Even the seafood chowder? It was hard to tell as most things were unmarked or mismarked. The chowder was a very failed attempt. Slightly fishy, overcooked (whatever the tasteless meat was). And disgustly overly thickened. Worst I've ever had. I did try the red bliss potatoes. Were they boiled? Very plain, but edible. The canned green peas were what you'd expect. The cooks haven't ruined them yet. Now for the none seafood dishes. Chicken cordon Bleu? Eh. Roast beef? Dry tough and covered in canned gravy. Stuffed shells? Overly creamy and not very good. I took a small serving of anything I tried so I wouldnt waste much. I gave up after 2 sample plates. I find it hard to believe that a restaurant thats been around this long, could in good conscious, even attempt to pawn that way over priced sub Sysco quality food as a seafood buffet. Overcooked tasteless shrimp, clams muscles and oysters, especially cooked as poorly as all of these offerings do not make up a seafood buffet. I must add, the staff was 5 stars. Very friendly and attentive. No complaints there. In summation, I feel like the generalized menu, lead you to believe there would be some decent choices. But they cheapened it down so badly with very poor quality food that there was no reason to go back up. Poor selection, tiny buffet, very poor quality food, unmarked, mismarked, and very unappealing. I dont know who runs this place now, but its a far cry from what it used to be. I shouldn't have gone. This experience ruined my memories. I still can't get over anybody pawning this garbage off as a buffet, let alone a seafood buffet. For $10 less, I can literally get ten times the options with 100% fresh seafood at several nearby places. Oh, and I almost forgot. Who cooks a beautiful salmon filet so long that you have to gulp down a drink with it so it doesn't get stuck in your throat? 1 star. And thats being very generous. Now if your somebody that enjoys gulping down lots and lots of mediocre food at a ridiculous price, this place my be for you. read more

I like the food, I live near by and order to go, but I am disgusted at how often they get the orders wrong. Tonight, they forgot half my order. I'm equally mad at myself for not double checking the bag, because I know they don't. I drove back and got stupid excuses with the rest of our dinner. We were in the area, ate here for the first time Sept 29 (Sunday). I always seek out seafood if possible and this place did not disappoint. It is very casual, which I like. I don't care for pretentious expensive places. My husband and I each ordered Taste of the Sea - very reasonable price of $20 for crab, fish and shrimp, comes with two sides. I had a salad as one side, it was really nice and not skimpy with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, carrot, onion, croutons. I think the ranch dressing might be homemade because it was delicious, if not I want to know what brand they are buying! The coleslaw is sweet and creamy based which is not my favorite, but that's ok. The seafood we ordered broiled, all was cooked perfectly and it was wonderful! read more

I have been to Wesley's countless times over the years. The food isn't the best, but it certainly isn't bad either. I've always liked to play some keno and watch while I eat. Then grab some Powerball or Mega Millions tickets and a bottle of something on the way out. Was in on a Friday night when it was realively busy. It took 15 minutes for a server to get drinks, 35 minutes for an appetizer and another 35 minutes for the main meal. I looked up and realized from the time I sat down until the time I finished my dinner, almost an hour and a half had elapsed - way too long. The food was good though. 3 stars because I had great servers in the past at Wesley's, so I know it was just an off night - it happens. Of course I will definitely return, and I will write my next review - I am hoping for a 4-5 star next time. read more

Disappointed to say the least, I've never ate here before despite living in the area 25 years and let me tell you I wish I had kept my streak going. I ordered the crab imperial, with squash, zucchini and carrots as my first side and rice as my second side. The crab imperial was full of shells to the point it wasn't edible, when I told the waitress she was very nice about it and offered something different so I ordered a crab cake thinking it way be better... it wasn't it was also full of shells. My husband and I went to Wesley's a couple of days ago for dinner. Both of our meals were awesome ! I had crab imperial and my husband had stuffed flounder, we both had stuffed baked potato and salad ~ and we also had fresh hot buttered rolls -- yummy -- I have had the drunken clams before and they are also very tasty -- We have also had many of their soups and a couple of beers at the bar when it is cold outside -- it is a cute bar and nice restaurant-- it beats driving to Newark or Chesapeake City seafood restaurants that charge more money -- Cheers! read more

Haven't been there in decades!! Came for the car show and wound up going in for a meal. Service seems a little slow on the restaurant side, more likely to only having 1 server. However......had a crabcake sandwich which was incredible! Didn't notice any filler,, just pure crab meat. Except for going farther down along the Chesapeake, hard pressed to find a better one. Made up for the wait. French fries were nice and crisp. So yes, crabcakes and seafood in general are not cheap, expect to spend a little more than a burger. read more

Went here to celebrate a family members birthday. Thought it looked like a nice restaurant for the occasion. I ordered the fresh flounder with a potato and veggies. Plus $3.50 for the Salad bar Salad options were okay. Soup was okay. Finally got my meal For. $17 meal I didn't expect for my food to "frozen food" The veggies were veggies from a dollar frozen bag from the grocery store. Same with my twice baked potato. Looked like something that came frozen just heated up. Same for the fish. Bland, small, seemed like something from the freezer. Idk just expected something better. If I wanted a frozen food meal I would of just stayed home. Won't go back again for the dinner, but he bad size was fine. read more

Wesleys has been around forever and though the place may be a little dated, the food is great, the wait staff is friendly and their prices are fair! Their seafood buffet is an awesome bargain but whether you want a club sandwich, hamburger or steak, you can count on it being cooked how you ask and it delivered by attentive wait staff! Took Mom here for Mother's Day. The food was outstanding as was the wait-staff and the desserts were to die for! It was fairly pricey though and for the $$ the place needs the paneling tore down and a modernization done on the inside. Give the place a face-lift and it would have been 5 stars. read more

There were 2 hostesses and we were seated right away. We waited a looooong time for a waitress to show up and take drink orders. The food was average. The interior reminded me of an out dated country club. Located right next to a liquor store. The beer selection was less than inspiring. We've passed this place many times over the years & have always said, " we should stop & eat there sometime, I hear it's really good". Words I soon regretted. My wife & I just left a late night affair in the area & still needed dinner. We agreed to finally go to Wesley's. Although we walked in @ 9:15 PM and they closed @ 10 PM, that should never be a reason for a lousy meal. As we stood three feet away from the hostess, who was pre-occupied BS-ing with the waitress for almost 5 minutes, we noticed only 4 people in the dining room which should have been our first warning. I finally had to "cough" to get the hostess's attention. She asked where would we like to sit since every booth & table was available but one and I asked for a cozy table since we just walked in from 30 degree weather. She sat us at a table next to a cold drafty window....warning # 2. My wife ordered the Soup & Salad Bar, I ordered the Jumbo Fried Oyster entree & twice baked potato, w/Soup & Salad bar. The clam chowder was OK (for canned). The lettuce was wilted but disguised with spinach leaves...clever but obvious....warning # 3. Since I started with the S & S bar, our waitress told me to let her know when I was ready for my Oyster entree, since it would only take about 10 minutes to make. Got finished with the soup and picked through the salad ( for the not too wilted stuff) and told the waitress she could put my Jumbo Oyster order in. In no more than 3 minutes, she brought my dinner out, which told me they already cooked it 20 minutes ago...warning # 4.. The (6) "JUMBO" oysters were about one inch in diameter. The fried batter coating looked like they had been thru the deep fryer several times. They sat in a puddle of grease leaving the underside of of "crispy batter" gross & mushy. After trying to eat only three of the "little nasty things", I was afraid to eat anymore of the semi-warm gut busters. ( The number of "red flags" have already passed the halfway mark) ...so, I went to the twice baked potato (that had been on our table about two minutes. It was cold through out the middle...like refrigerator cold. I asked the waitress to take it back & she said they will make me another one. A few minutes later she brought out a "freshly" new potato and I dug into the center to get another bite of cold (not warm)...cold potato. I pushed my obviously unfinished/uneaten food away. Our waitress came over (I was expecting to be asked, "was there something wrong with your meal"?), asked us if we wanted desert? No concerns, no apologies. My wife & I looked at each other with a "you've got to be kidding" kind of look, & asked for for our $47 check, that took everything I had to try to not be an impolite.... A-- whole, and paid. Well, the next time we pass Wesley's, we'll know not to ever stop there again & I would suggest you do the same. We eat out at a lot at many different places at many different levels, this was without a doubt, the worst meal we have had in the past 30 years of our marriage.... we rate as DISGUSTING! I'd really like to know where these other people ate who give this place raving reviews. Is there another Wesley's out here? read more

We stopped here on the recommendation of Ken at Fair Hills stable where we had been on a great, but hot, trail ride. We were seated immediately, and ordered the crab cakes with an add-on lobster tail (only 10.99 to add the lobster), which came with the salad bar. We had the crab soup from the salad bar, and we really loved it. The greens could have been fresher, but there was a great and otherwise very fresh selection at the salad bar. The crab cakes and the lobster were delicious, but I have to say what really stole our hearts was the truly homemade and scrumptious apple pie. Buttery, not too sweet, and cinnamon-rich, with a nice crunch from the granola crust. Nice find! read more

What a strange set up. A vape shop, liquor store, bar, and restaurant all in one building, but seperated into their own rooms. They advertise that you can choose from 350 wines for dinner. Not bad. Decent beer selection. We went for lunch and the food was very good. People seem to go here for the all you can eat seafood dinner on I think it is Wed and Thurs nights. I think they said $30 per person. Like others said here, when you first walk in you get the impression of old diner. It is aged looking. And the place has that musty kitchen dish cleaning smell. So the first impression is not the best, but the food was really decent. Our server was good and the food came out fairly quickly. I think I would give them 3.5 stars if I could, but I will be nice. read more

Id give the food 5/10. The raw bar selections were good. Oysters were my favorite along with the crab mac and cheese and the snow crab. The smoked brisket was very good. I could tell about half of the food was not homemade, bought prepared and pre breaded or portioned. The open chafing pan setup let a lot of the food to be cold. More then most of the items were room temp/cold.They should setup a more functional buffet system that helps keep items fresh/hot. Shrimp cocktail was mushy, and the stuffed flounder didnt seem homemade. The building and decor are very outdated and tacky. It took away from the whole experience. My parents and I have been coming here for the seafood buffet for over a decade. Although lack of consistence is sometimes an issue, most of the time it's delicious. The fried shrimp, steamed shrimp, crab legs, and clams are great. Sometimes the clams casino can be a bit dry though. Prime rib is good and service has always been good in my opinion. My dumb mistake - but Jack in the liquor store took me in hand and got us set up in the bar area complete with a covered banquet table. All the staff were very accommodating and friendly. My family loves Wesleys. We've been going there for a really long time. The food is always good and fresh and the wait staff is very nice. My husband and I had our wedding reception here and everyone loved it. It is a nice clean environment with really great food.
