Table set up and martini!
Riley H.

One of the best steaks I've ever had in my life--perfectly tender, buttery, and absolutely phenomenal. We ordered the porterhouse for two, shared a bottle of wine, and everything about the experience was amazing. The service was great and very friendly. The ambiance is quaint and intimate, so I would definitely recommend making a reservation. We usually prefer sitting at the bar, but this was a place we truly enjoyed dining at a table.

'What went well', asks Yelp? Everything! Fabulous food, great cocktails, excellent service, awesome vibe. Each time we go I enjoy it more! Highly recommend going, and making a reservation in advance.

One of my favorite places. Walked in with no reservation and Frank made it happen on a Friday Night. He's the best! All the food came out with the best timing and cooked perfectly. The drinks are always great too. Such a great date night spot. Very calm ambiance for a date night!

We went to Prime225 for my brother's birthday the other day and were absolutely blown away! Not only is the restaurant on a cute street, the space is so cute and well decorated. As a large party, I find that getting enough attention can be difficult but our server did an amazing job and was so nice! I didn't try a cocktail but the menu options sounded fabulous and I cannot wait to go back! We started with the Caesar (as a self proclaimed casear salad connoisseur, this was in my top 3 Caesar's ever), Brussels (which are probably some of the best I have ever had. Get them! You will not regret. The hot honey is the perfect touch), bao buns, and crab dip. All were so good. I got the crab cakes for dinner and my fiancé got the pork. Let me tell youuuuu, we're not expecting the cut on the pork, it was massive and every bite was tender and tasty. The crab cakes were seasoned perfectly. I cannot wait to go back!

Sweet Potato- butter, mini marshmallows, candied pecans

Fantastic experience from beginning to end. Loved the gas lamps- took me back to the streets of New Orleans. An appreciator of details including the light-up menus. But aside from this the food was incredible! The bread & dipping oil was intensely good. Chateaubriand (for 2), meat just melted in my mouth & rich, savory, demi-glaze was drinkable. Brown mushrooms were so firm & full of flavor they could've been a vegetarian main; my husband is luke warm on fungi & he was popping them like candy. Ordered Maine lobster tail as add-on- could've been a meal on its own. Sweet potato with mini-marshmallows & candied pecans was as satisfying as dessert. Only thing that didn't light my fire was appetizer Clams Casino- been a while since I had this old skool classic, but it didn't excite me the way the other courses did. Reasonable bill for an all-out feast!

Ask the Community - Prime 225

Do they have any specials currently (Jan 2023)?

Any Friday night specials? Also, do you accept reservations?

I've always made a reservation for here. I've been before on a Friday when they did have specials. I've also been on the weekend when they did not have any specials (it might depend on the season).

Does anyone know what are the hours and/or specials for happy hour?

Mondays at the bar there are buck-a-shuck oysters, and half priced bar menu! Tuesdays we are featuring two "pre fix" menus, with four courses (appetizer, salad, entree and dessert) for $100. It's a full Prime experience for a great price. Come check… Read more

Does anyone know what the price range of these dishes are? It's not posted on their website

$10 will start you off with appetizers and dinners can go up into the $60 dollar range. Most things are al la cart. Dinner for two with dessert and drinks can easily be $150 but it is definitely worth it. The food is amazing.

Do they have draft beer available?

Yes, and a full service bar.

He invited us back out to give the restaurant another shot - and we are so glad he did! We weren't sure what to expect for the second time, and to say we were pleasantly surprised is an understatement. Every single part of the experience was phenomenal. We tried a new appetizer (I can't remember the name but it was a crab appetizer). The crab was fresh and overall, delish. We ordered the Hairy Chinn sushi again, as we did love that the first time. We both got cocktails from their menu, and they were both so unique and refreshing (we even ordered a second round!). I tried a chef special, which was the Picanha & Charred Scallion. When I tell you, it was absolutely perfect! Everything, even down to the olive oil mixture was tasty. My fiancé ordered the crab cakes and he raved about them as well! We ordered a side of Candied Brussels sprouts - and they were easily the best Brussels sprouts we've ever tried. We couldn't resist dessert and got the crème brûlée. We loved every bit! The service was 10/10, and our server was great. She was attentive, friendly, and knew the menu well! Valet parking moved much quicker, and you can't beat the beautiful view of the boats and the water. We had so many great things to say about our experience that now our families are planning their visit too! We are so grateful that Matthew reached out to us. Inviting us back has certainly turned us into loyal customers and we cannot wait to come back!

On one hand I want to try again for dinner but for the price, I'm not sure it's worth it. Pros: Amazing service - very attentive server(s); we had one in training/shadowing and she was just as good as our primary server, offering refills, clearing plates, overall greet banter Cocktails are fantastic - had the Minnie Ripperton and loved it - creamy yet refreshing and bright which is a tough combo to achieve Cons: Hidden entrance - after circling what looked like an abandoned building 2x we finally figured out the entrance was in the backy and down a set of stairs. I now understand the "speakeasy vibe" but the clutter in the front made the building look abandoned or under construction; not a great start to the experience for us Food service - the other couple we were dining with got their entrees about 10 minutes before ours and we were some of the first orders & diners of the day. Usually you might hold the whole table or refire some of the dishes so it all comes out at the same time. They finished theirs before we even got our to start, making it a strange eating experience Small print menu - with the low light of the speakeasy, the menu had the teeeeniest print I've ever seen making it very difficult to read the menu options. We also didn't realize that the menu changes/is seasonal (not called out on the website) so many of the items we had wanted to try were not an available option. I love a menu that changes but hope it's indicated on the website (aka: sample menu, subject to seasonal change) Hit-n-miss: Fried chicken Benedict- huge portions, amazing biscuits and perfectly poached (but unseasoned?) eggs. I don't know if the hollandaise soaked into the fried chicken or never existed at all - and that's the thing you want with a Benedict. If it existed, it never reached the biscuits because while they were good, but were completely dry Shrimp and grits - perfectly cooked, great consistency, but very under-seasoned Water - just an observation and maybe it's just the local tap water flavor but it tasted off or as off the soap hadn't been washed from the glasses Pro Tip: be aware of the automatic gratuity in some circumstances; if you don't know, check the website before your meal!

I have to go with the majority of other reviewers on a few things here. To start very greasy food,…read moredefinitely low country style dinners here but SO good. It wasn't busy on an overcast rainy Thursday, and the staff took great care of us with brief history lesson and tips on what to see and do while in town. The weather kept our walking to a minimum, but what we saw was pure Americana. Lunch was also very good. We shared a new recipe for Brussel Sprouts that was delicious with bacon and balsamic mixed throughout. The tart, slightly bitter, mildly sweet composition hit the spot. Too, we shared a fresh Rockfish Sandwich, that was thinly coated and fried with something like aioli spread across the top, with pickles for contrast to the white fish filet. Tasty. Right beneath the back porch in what appears to be the basement, was the Hole in the Wall Bar, right next to another larger dining room that opened out onto a small patio for better weather, and just beyond the wide canal. We checked it out, but it wasn't quite ready for customers at that hour. If you enjoy American history in a picturesque colonial setting, check out Chesapeake City and Bayard House. Its unassuming charm is captivating.

My mistake; expecting hot food these days is a distant memory. I mean they tried but had no idea, I guess. Plates were not warmed; an order of bbq ribs was also barely warm. I know steak is supposed to be served hot on hot plates but whatever. The sides were delicious; mashed potato, grilled asparagus, mac n cheese. The oysters in the app mix plate were average at best, but overall it was an exciting appetizer for a party we were having. The mashed potatoes were more exciting in appearance than the decor, which was bland as vanilla pudding. If this is vying to be a premier steak house like Del Frisco or Ruth's Chris, a long way to go. Didn 't feel very posh except for the bill at the end.
