Grandma Crispy with a Saratoga sparkling water.

The best pizza in Middletown, DE We love the Grandma Crispy! The atmosphere is the best mix of small pizza shop and relaxing and fun place to hang out with friends for good...great Italian food.

My husband and I had lunch here over the holidays with some friends. The service was great and the place was bright and cheery and clean. The I had a really fresh side salad and we had the bruschetta which was delicious. For my meal, I ordered the cavatelli with spinach and sausage in a white wine sauce - it was really good BUT it was swimming in the sauce (which basically tasted like chicken broth) so it was really more of a soup, and I was wanting a good pasta dish so I was a little disappointed. Otherwise, everything was great and we will hopefully be going back again very soon.

Randazzo is the latest Italian dining option serving the MOT area. For this occasion, we had to get take out instead of dining in due to certain circumstances. Even for take out, the pizzas were well prepared and tasted great. Besides pizzas, their menu offers plenty of traditional Italian dishes. Pricing are fair when compared to others. When the opportunity comes again, we'll be dining in instead, and trying out some of the other delicious Italian entrees.

Our third time at this location. The good: Very nice wait staff. Menu is robust. Food is flavorful. The bad: Our second time with the lasagna. It comes out cold in the center. Not ice cold, but certainly not hot. Knowing the first experience, we made sure to state we wanted it HOT. I appreciate that during this recent visit, the chef came out with a meat thermometer to prove us wrong. But my husband and I had the same experience: the center was lukewarm (at best). Oh well. If we do come back, we know to avoid the lasagna. PS: lighting is stark in the dining room. Lower wattage would make for a more intimate feel.

Ate here on Friday night for dinner. They were still doing their soft opening. The place was super busy around 6:00 when we got there and it sounded like they were doing a lot of pizza orders. My wife and I ate in. I got the eggplant parmigiana and my wife got tortellini Sofia Loren. Both dishes were great. My eggplant was crispy and not soggy from being fried. My wife got the tiramisu for dessert and she loved it. We will most definitely be back.

The lady that cooks the food is extremely helpful and excellent as well. The chicken wings that we ordered were seasoned and cooked to perfection!!!!! The Bad: While the food is good, ordering is quite a challenge. This was our first time eating at this establishment as we were told how good the food really was. And it was excellent!!! However, when you ask an employee if there is a menu, they say, it's on the door. You look at the door and there is no menu. I the. Asked another person hat looked like she was the cook. This was great as she said the menu is actually on a piece of paper on the wall. Note: I still never found this menu. However, she (the cook) was very, very friendly and told me what she had ready to cook. We ordered Fried Chicken Wings and a side of French Fries for the two of us to share. The food was excellent!! )so this is not bad. The Ugly: The bartender either needs assistance in serving the customers in a timely manner or she can improve her speed and service. When we first sat down, we waited over 10 minutes for her to even acknowledge us. Not to serve....just acknowledge. Will we return? Absolutely!!!!! The Bad and the Ugly did not outweigh the the good. We had a feast time watching Karaoke, eating Fried Chicken & enjoying good drinks. This is a place that you do not need to get dressed nice to hang out, and there are often times that I just want to have on jeans and tee shirt to go out and just have a drink and have laughs with friends or with Hubby. This was the case in our recent visit and enjoyed ourselves immensely. We will certainly return and hope you visit this great establishment. Bon Appetit and Have Fun!!!!!

Two glasses of Cutty Sark for $7. I was retelling a story that involved profanity and the proprietor came over and reprimanded me earnestly. "If you come in my place, you got to find a bigger vocabulary." Everyone was busy setting up for a farewell party for a local DJ. The good smell of dirty rice and greens cooking in the back almost tempted us to stay. But six hours is a long time to kill, even with Cutty Sark and NCAA football on CBS.

We got two drinks and they were both superb. I wish I had gotten a picture or even remembered the name of it but they certainly did the job. I got the habanero chicken slider and my boyfriend got the cheesesteak. They both came with fries and were delicious. I will say for the price, I was expecting the portion size to be a tad bit bigger or fuller however the taste was amazing. It was seasoned well and super juicy. The fries were my absolute favorite kind of fries too!

The bathrooms are always clean as well. When you first come in, you choose what type of water you'd like; tap, spring, seltzer...I think. Prices have gone up, but I guess they have everywhere. Meanwhile, it's important to make sure quality is up to par as well. There have been times, as stated before when the food was fine. However, other examples follow: once my husband's soup came out with broth and rice, no meat. The waiter told the manager, who just... shrugged. Now, after this, I'm done. My husband is the one who insists on going back. Another time a drink came and it was horrible, but ok... you take your chances. This last time, I ordered fish and chips. It came out burnt and salty. Now I can pretend it's well done, but the saltiness, no ma'am. The waitress asked if I wanted something else, I didn't. She said that she would only be able to discount it, not take it off the check. I agreed to the discount. The discount ended up being 5%... for food that ended up in the trash. I can promise you I won't be back. But, I don't think it's fair to give less than 3 stars bc you might catch them on a good day.

Looking through the glass panes in their door at the bottom of the steps leading to the back yard and C & D Canal, it appeared that the lights were off and that it wasn't open for business at 3:00 p.m. The door wasn't locked, so I opened it to step inside to try for a better look. It was then I saw a woman behind the bar who appeared to be setting up for business. She also saw me and asked if she could be of service. I asked if the place was open? She explained that it was, and she would be happy to make me a cocktail, however, they rarely had customers this time of day midweek, and that if I was hungry the restaurant above would certainly be happy to take care of me. The conversation continued briefly as she explained the two businesses had a common owner and shared a kitchen with a slightly different, but mainly overlapping menu. The large dining room next door was shared, although there were several tables in the shadows as well as a few barstools. The darkness seemed appropriate; like a cave where many things could be hidden from view and likely to instill a sense of secrecy and even conspiracy, for example, a perfect stop for the Underground Railroad or a speakeasy during Prohibition. Realizing I was taking up her time, and that she had better things to do than listen to a stranger's fantasies, I excused myself and exited the door I had just entered. She smiled and nodded, as she continued wiping the glassware in preparation for the night's guests.

The bar tender was very nice, very courteous . Then the issues began to emerge. Keep in mind what time it is and there are only 6-7 people in the bar. The men's bathroom was filthy. Like there was excrement on the wall, trash cans over flowing and toilet paper on the wall, stuck to it. All over the floor. The bar tender said something to the manager and the excuse was that it was the bait parade the night before. They have had over 12 hours to clean the bathroom. The nachos were absolutely gross. Poured cheese, 3 jalapeños, cold chicken. Two years ago it was a mix of cheese and smoked chicken, and delicious. I hope the owners read this and take note. Your saving money on cheap ingredients will lose clientele. A gross bathroom should have you shut down. Do better. You have a great location and a special little bar.
