Different Cheesesteak #1173. I'm glad my Cheesesteak Adventure led me to Fratelli's. I wish I could have gotten an Italian dish. The other food and pizza looked very good. The woman who helped me order was very nice. I got a cheesesteak with fried onions and mushrooms. $18. It was big. It was juicy. After looking at the food in the display cases I had high hopes for my mushrooms and onions. The mushrooms were okay. The onions were a nuisance. I got a cannoli. I liked my Cannoli. read more

I'm not sure if the owner will see this, but I sincerely hope they do -- because I genuinely want to support local businesses over big chains, especially in the MOT area. I believe in the potential of this establishment and hope the owners take this feedback to heart and recognize that some changes are needed. I placed a to-go order on a Tuesday evening for two sandwiches and two appetizers. I arrived at 6:20 PM, nearly an hour after placing the order, only to find it still incomplete. I understand this is a peak time, so I waited patiently. After a few minutes, I asked how much longer it would be, and the young woman at the front said she'd check. At that point, the appetizers hadn't even been started, and I was told it would be another 10 minutes. I had already paid -- including a 20% tip -- so I continued to wait. Eventually, the head cook came out and informed me that the meatballs hadn't been cooked yet and would take even longer. I asked to take them uncooked and prepare them myself at home. Again, I tried to be understanding, knowing it was a busy time. But the entire experience took over an hour for a small order, and it was clear there was a disconnect between the kitchen and the front counter. Staff seemed overwhelmed, and frankly, it felt like my order was an inconvenience. What truly disappointed me was the chef's behavior at the end -- smirking and laughing at the situation. That was unprofessional and unnecessary. When I finally got home, the food was cold and mediocre at best. For the price, it was hard to justify the quality. I'm chalking this up to a possible off night, and I may give it another try in the future, as I've heard good things. But I sincerely hope the team takes this feedback seriously and improves communication, professionalism, and consistency. Currently still operating in their Soft Opening phase I dug right in and ordered the veal Parmigiana Hero. The staff is super friendly. Italian music plays in the background. This establishment is predominantly for take out. It took 25 minutes for my hero. I'm thinking it's best to order ahead. Now to the "piece de resistance."The veal parmigiana hero. The biggest, freshest hunk of lightly breaded veal, nestled in a gourmet seeded Italian sub roll from a specialty bakery in Pennsylvania. Made especially for them I was told. Now here's the tricky part. Many have their take on tomato sauce. This was very fresh tasting, with subtle seasoning that enhanced the sandwich. The mozzarella was perfectly melted atop the veal & sauce. It had a delicate stretch that was not chewy. It was not salty and didn't compete with the other ingredients. Overall this was a hefty sandwich made with care. Packaged nicely in foil in its specially designed box. I wish them continued success & I can't wait to try the rest of the menu. read more

Good new Italian spot in Middletown. Have been 3 times now and have enough experience to review. Let me start with what we didn't like, the pizza. I'm a pizza fanatic but the pies here aren't my favorite. Having said that the cheesesteak is excellent. Way better than the other overpriced place in town. Not cheap here either but a good value when you see the quality and size. Lasagna is amazing too. Best I've had in MOT by far. Meatballs good as well. The 'rolls' (like Stromboli) are really nice too. Pizza isn't my jam but everything else we've tried has been pretty epic. Nice folks too. read more

First time here and I was very impressed. From the moment we walked in we were warmly welcomed. We ordered two of the Italian subs and they were delicious and well worth the price. We got two meals out of them. We will definitely come back again to try some of their other specialties. While there I noticed a customer ordering a fried gnocchi platter off the catering menu. I tried looking that up and couldn't find it on their website. I may call them sometime and ask for a catering menu. read more

Pizza was ok....4/10 at best. It should come with a warning that it's $5 a slice. I realize it's 2023, inflation, etc. but I must say this was the first time I have ever been charged $5 for a slice of cheese pizza. For the same quality of domino's (in my opinion), I could have bought a medium pizza and had a few $$$ left over. I'm in no way a cheap person but for a $5 slice I need to feel like it's worth the $5. read more

Wow! I was so impressed with the cleanliness from when I walked in for the first time along with the warm welcome and service from the staff. I ordered the pasta after not being able to decide because everything looked so good, so when I went outside to wait, the employee came and brought me a slice of pizza to try and I fell in love. I'm open to trying them again. I ordered a cheese steak. It was definitely packed with meat but I would say too much! The cheese wasn't mixed with the meat and only on top leaving the rest dry. Lacking flavor as well. But I really want to try an Italian dish next time. read more

I ordered a cheese steak, Mario meatball sub, cheese pizza and Italian wings. The cheese steak was ok at best as it was not seasoned even with the simplistic salt and pepper. The wings were very bland and unseasoned along with being drowned in sautéed onions. The pizza was also bland and unseasoned. The worst part of my order was the Mario sub. The presentation was good with a good amount on melted mozzarella however the meatballs were very pink on the inside and undercooked. After one bite I actually tossed it in the trash. Delicious on every level. Everything is great. You can't go wrong. Order ahead and it's ready when they say it will be. Mario is definitely the man with cooking. Just ordered from Fratelli's. My husband had chicken Alfredo. Chicken was great, pasta was horrible. It looked like about 1/2 lb of penne and maybe a teaspoon of Alfredo sauce. Could barely taste it. I had pasta in vodka sauce. Again about 1/2 lb of pasta and not even a teaspoon of sauce. Tasted like nothing. We'll try the pizza next time, hope it's better than their pasta dishes. read more

Honestly, not that great. the pizza was fabulous. everything else, not so much. mozzarella is fresh but needs salt, chicken cutlet and riceballs tasted sweet? the stuffed long hots were pretty good. overall if i would go back id order a pizza over the phone because it gets busy in there very quickly. the employees seem stressed and the lady was trying to train people and help people at the same time, she was very nice. when you walk in theres a small cold case and some TV's on the wall. hopefully theyll have deli slicers and sandwiches soon! read more

My hubby and I got a few different items from Fratelli's the other night. We had the cheesesteak, Philly special cheesesteak, plain cheese and bianco pizza, and some of the mild wings with Bleu cheese. EVERYTHING was delicious and we are not exaggerating. We usually travel almost 45mins to get our cheesesteaks either in Philly or right outside because we go for quality and size of the sandwich. These were stuffed with meat and cheese and the bread they use is very fresh and crisp on the outside with a soft inside. It is phenomenal. We also LOVE NY pizza and have often traveled all the way up just to have authentic NYC pizza. This pizza was delicious. Thin, crispy crust with a garlic butter flavor...plenty of cheese and toppings. The wings were delicious, as well. Nice and crisp and cooked perfectly. The mild sauce was very tasty and the Bleu cheese that came with them was homemade. This was an excellent meal and we are thrilled to have a place so close by to get such tasty food from. I'm from Philly, born and raised. The first time I went in there I was a little skeptical because my neighbor had told me he had bought a couple things and it wasn't that great, but I still wanted to try it myself. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak which was $16.99 And I said to the guy behind the counter for $17. I better be the best cheesesteak I ever ate. He said to me, I'm going to make it myself, so I waited about 15 minutes and finally got my cheesesteak and it was huge, actually two people can eat a steak and be full. The state cash, provolone, onions, peppers, and mushrooms on it. I must say it was very tasty, my wife ordered the lasagna, and that was also very tasty, just remember, huge portions they gave you, two people could've ate the lasagna and two people could've shared the steak also. One drawback, they were a little bit disorganized, I think there was some training that needs to be in order over there because they don't totally have the rack together as far as waiting on people and getting the orders out.
