The first thing I noticed walking in was the ambiance. Nice decor with a city hotspot feel. We had a teen and tween with us and both found something on the menu. Most of us ordered bowls with sesame sauce which were delicious. We each ordered different meats with our bowls and no complaints. My son had a crispy chicken sandwich which he devoured and my daughter had a quesadilla which they prepared especially for her without any sauce. Everything was tasty. We had a problem with our order when my daughter found a small piece of plastic wrapper in her food. We told our waiter and he immediately informed management. The manager came over and offered a new plate but my daughter was fine having the current plate. So instead, she comped her meal and gave her a choice of dessert with a gigantic milk. Despite the minor glitch, this place deserves 5 stars for the way they handled this issue. We feel they went above and beyond to remedy the situation. If only all restaurant management were like this. If we are ever in Chicago again, we will be back.

It is a must visit - if only all hotel restaurants were this good. We had a late dinner reservation on a Saturday night, and the restaurant was almost emptied out. So that made for a lovely, semi-private dining experience. Selecting a wine was dicey, as earlier that week flooding had damaged the cellar (!), but our server, Alex, was very helpful and worked with us to find something to my liking. We landed on a 2015 Cornas which was showing beautifully and matched perfectly with our meal. Alex did a fantastic job taking care of us during the wine reconnaissance and throughout the meal. Speaking of which, we started with the deviled eggs, which were amazing. An elegant balance of cream and salt from the caviar. For my entree, i had the venison. It was a seared filet on I believe a sweet potato puree, and it was rich and tender. Order it rare, if its on the menu. Kelly had the filet, also rare, and found it to be superior to most Chicago steak house filets. Our side was the divinely creamy Aligot mashed potatoes. Don't skip on these! For dessert, there was a decadent, gout-tempting chocolate mousse preparation. Served tableside, its all you think you can eat. I had a heaping serving, ate some, took the rest home. Kelly had the (also) Decadent Chocolate Cake, which too was superb. Cocktails were excellent, as is the bourbon selection. Service was impeccable. Our dinner was long and leisurely, and we look forward to returning.

Walking a little bit further into the restaurant, you see all of the chairs decorated with a gold studded Maroon leather. The tall ceilings give way to a illuminated faux skylight. The seating designs are minimal designed. We thought we were walking into a brunch menu but they had transitioned to lunch and re-ordered the lobster roll as well as the asparagus tip and almond pasta and the sweet potato fries.

When the artichoke dip arrived, our table was already full of finished dishes. I had to physically move a plate to make room while she set the new dish down and walked away. Nothing was cleared. Eventually I moved an empty plate to a nearby empty table because we literally had no space, and another employee--not our server--noticed and cleared it. At payment, the terminal was simply placed in front of me without explanation and she walked away. I ultimately had to ask her to take it back after paying. Then I saw that a 20% service charge was automatically included. I'm happy to tip well for good service, but automatically charging 20% while providing virtually none of the basic service expected at a sit-down restaurant is frustrating. The food and location give this place potential, but guests shouldn't feel like a nuisance for asking about the restaurant's own happy-hour promotion. With a mandatory 20% charge, there should at least be a basic standard of attentive, courteous service.

The waitress Mellisa V. apologized and said this was the first time this happened that someone cleared the table before we were ready. We did not even get the check yet. The waitress went to back to see if she could find our food. The problem I have with this is that the person that busted the table our change purse was still on thprobably put our stuff in with dirty dishes and other stuff. Melissa made my friend a new salad and said she found mine. I don't know if it was in the trash or what. Once it leaves the table and went in the buse tub it should not be given to the consumer.I called back that Sat. spoke with someone and she said she would send a gift card . I never heard anything.

I ordered the 3 Egg Ham 'n Cheese Omelet with mushrooms and my daughter had the Eggs Benedict. Both were cooked perfectly and seasoned correctly. Yummy! For dessert, we shared the delicious Cinnamon Roll Waffle, made perfectly, of course. We were surprised when we received our check, which was $92 for breakfast plus 20% tip.
