The bouncer that bounced me from dancing my face off because my state issued ID was from the future (my Apple wallet). Bittersweet.

Normally 5 stars, tonight was a 1. Unfortunately, Bar Smith stopped accepting state issued IDs. I have always had a great time at Bar Smith. The roof top vibes always get me moving. The energy, the lights, the music create an atmosphere that make it easy to find a groove. When I presented my new license using Apple wallet, the bouncer refused to acknowledge it. Some people just have a hard time with change... or accepting the ways of the future. But to be fair he did say he'd let me in if I gave him 20$... unfortunately he didn't accept electronic payments.

Thursday night hip-hop and reggae nights. Saturday night House and hip hop. Best drink specials before 10pm. Lots of locals and out of state visitors. Excellent service from bottle girls and bartenders. Security guys keep a good watch to keep everyone safe.

Came here for an event and they are not only disorganized but so unprofessional. a they made us wait outside for over an hour before letting us in even though we were told to come earlier to get ready for the event. They have the ac blasting to a point where it's like a freezer box in here. I would understand that if it was hot out and there are a lot of people in here but it's 60° out and there's a total of 10 people in here. Went to use the bathroom and not only do they have the door propped open, but they have half a fucking door to one of the stalls in the bathroom. I can't even use the bathroom because everyone in the place would see me. The other stall is broken. Will not ever come back here. Only good thing is the DJ.

After our microscopic martini's @ Hanny's, my bf tiff and I decided to walk over to Bar Smith and check it out. It was a perfect day and we sat out on the front patio. The bartender came out with a beaming smile to take our order. We asked what her specialty was and she said Citrus Martini's soooo.... Citrus Martini's it was. They came out promptly and were DELICIOUS! (see pics) We were also in the mood for something sweet so she also suggested the chocolate torte and we are so glad she did. It was decadent and purrrrrfect. The music was nice, the weather was as good as it gets in AZ, the service was great and the martini's were yummy. What more could you ask for?? We will be back!

Bar Smith is a cool different type of venue for very reasonable drink prices and mixture of music. It's right downtown in a cool spot with other clubs on each side. This is eclectic, dance, hip hop, and house music all in one. There are two stories each one with DJs playing different music. The top floor is outside on the balcony roof top with the entire wall images from a projection screen with a bar and decent size dance floor for a roof top spot. This place isn't pretentious which is always nice that you can just have a good night out and enjoy yourself without having to be dressed to the nines or try act hard and get bottle service for $1000 like you do in Scottsdale and people just staring for no reason. I won't get on my soap box here, not the place. DJ Senbad is the nuts!!! He is a freaking awesome DJ and all around nice guy that is very hospitable. I know this because I see him high fiving, hugging people and always happy when he is on the ones and twos. Always plays good music and doesn't skip a beat. The drinks are a great price. They do good pours and don't over charge you like some of these other places that try to stiff you with their lame pour counts. I would absolutely recommend going here especially if you are downtown and want to dance and enjoy a good crowd. Say what up to Senbad when you go upstairs if he is playing and give him a hello and high five. Good times, good vibes, good spot.

Hip hop downstairs and house techno upstairs on the roof top! Amazing downtown Phoenix views with an awesome vibe. Dance, dance, dance! One of the best clubs around!

If it's your first visit, the AZ Hot Fried Chicken Sandwich is an absolute must. It's perfectly crispy with just the right amount of heat and packed with flavor in every bite. It's the perfect way to unwind, catch up with friends, and enjoy some of Arizona's finest locally crafted beer. Whether you're there for the food, the beer, or the lively patio atmosphere, Arizona Wilderness never disappoints. If you're in the neighborhood--or even if you're not--it's well worth the visit. Made the long drive from Gilbert to see what the hype was about and let me say....that soft serve was WORTH IT! I got the swirl and it was soooooo refreshing and delicious. I have seen people comment that they were too strong (I don't see the problem or maybe some people don't really like tequila) but mine was perfect! Not strong at all. The only reason I didn't give this updated review a 5-I ordered the banh mi sando and the sandwich was so dry. Chicken was dry. The cilantro wasn't chopped I had to pick out long stems. Also I got the AZ frosè and the rosemary syrup was just way too pungent to enjoy the whole beverage. I wished it had been more balanced. Especially when the French fries are heavily seasoned with rosemary--a bit too much.

Surprise Father's Day gift to go on a "flight" from NY to Tokyo. This was such a cool experience…read more I'm an airplane junkie so going back in time in a vintage plane was awesome. The vibe is intimate and the staff was amazing. The food was good; my wagyu was cooked nicely but my wife's was a bit overdone. The peanuts pack some heat so they were a bit too spicy. Carry On actually called me to confirm our "tickets," which I thought was really cute. The whole experience kind of started a couple of days before our actual "departure time." They also reminded us to park in the Renaissance Square parking garage under Wren & Wolf, and they were able to validate our parking for three hours. We had to go to Wren & Wolf first to pick up our Carry On tickets. We got there early, and they let us relax in their couch area while we waited for our departure time. The walk from the Renaissance Square parking garage to Wren & Wolf was easy. You just follow the signs, and the whole walk is inside the building, which was perfect because it was so hot outside. While we were waiting, we could order drinks and chill, just like being in an airport lounge. When it was time for departure, we walked outside the building, and Carry On was right around the corner. You won't miss it because you'll see the Carry On Air flight schedule above the gate door. Right on time, we were greeted by a friendly flight attendant. Once we walked into the cabin, it really felt like we were inside a first-class flight lounge. Our flight attendant served us drinks right after we sat down, and we also ordered more cocktails and snacks from their menu. The captain spoke to us over the speaker, just like on a real flight. As we took off, we could even feel the seats moving. Looking out the "window," we saw buildings, clouds surrounding us, and even experienced turbulence I'm not going to tell you too much because I don't want to ruin the experience. I'll let you try it for yourself. I think it's definitely worth giving it a try. At least for us, we loved it.

What an unexpectedly fun night!…read more I honestly had no idea what I was walking into when a friend told me I had to check out Bikini Lounge because they know I'm drawn to all things eclectic. They were absolutely right. From the moment the friendly bouncer smiled and said, "Step right on in," I was hooked. Yoooow!! The first DJ was incredible. He was spinning all kinds of trip-hop, indie, electronic, and remix-style tracks that had everybody partyin'. It wasn't your typical dance music, but every song seemed to connect with somebody in the room. The crowd was incredibly diverse, and it was so much fun watching people of every age and style dancing and nobody cared. The second DJ, a younger woman, shifted the vibe a bit and leaned more toward a younger crowd. It wasn't quite my style, so I took that opportunity to grab a seat at the bar and do what I apparently do best... chat with complete strangers. I'm a talker, and thankfully they seemed just as happy to strike up a conversation. This isn't some fancy cocktail lounge, and that's exactly the point. It's authentic. There were people dancing at the bar, grooving in their booths, bouncing in their seats, and filling the dance floor with great energy. I came by myself, and within minutes a cool group of strangers invited me to squeeze into their booth like we'd all come together. That's the kind of place this is. At one point they even offered me a glass of beer from their pitcher. I politely declined (look at me making responsible life choices... sometimes), but then I realized almost everyone had pitchers! So I sauntered over to the bar. I did have to wait a bit; apparently chivalry doesn't extend to letting a woman cut the line, but once I reached the bartender, the service was fast and friendly. Every trip back to the bar was the same. No complaints there. As the night went on, the energy just kept building. Before I knew it, I was on the dance floor sweating, smiling, and dancing with complete strangers. After a while, I had to retreat to the patio just to catch my breath before heading back in for more. My ankles are still sore... and the glutes? Fuhgetabouttit! The best part of the night wasn't the music or even the drinks. It was the people. Every generation was represented. Every fashion style imaginable. Every personality. And somehow it all worked. There was this genuine sense of joy and community that you just don't find everywhere. If you're looking for polished and upscale, this probably isn't your spot. But if you want great music, a welcoming crowd, zero pretension, and one of those nights where you leave happier than you arrived... give Bikini Lounge a shot. I went in not knowing what to expect. I left wondering why I'd waited so long to go.
