The bouncer that bounced me from dancing my face off because my state issued ID was from the future (my Apple wallet). Bittersweet.

Normally 5 stars, tonight was a 1. Unfortunately, Bar Smith stopped accepting state issued IDs. I have always had a great time at Bar Smith. The roof top vibes always get me moving. The energy, the lights, the music create an atmosphere that make it easy to find a groove. When I presented my new license using Apple wallet, the bouncer refused to acknowledge it. Some people just have a hard time with change... or accepting the ways of the future. But to be fair he did say he'd let me in if I gave him 20$... unfortunately he didn't accept electronic payments.

Thursday night hip-hop and reggae nights. Saturday night House and hip hop. Best drink specials before 10pm. Lots of locals and out of state visitors. Excellent service from bottle girls and bartenders. Security guys keep a good watch to keep everyone safe.

Came here for an event and they are not only disorganized but so unprofessional. a they made us wait outside for over an hour before letting us in even though we were told to come earlier to get ready for the event. They have the ac blasting to a point where it's like a freezer box in here. I would understand that if it was hot out and there are a lot of people in here but it's 60° out and there's a total of 10 people in here. Went to use the bathroom and not only do they have the door propped open, but they have half a fucking door to one of the stalls in the bathroom. I can't even use the bathroom because everyone in the place would see me. The other stall is broken. Will not ever come back here. Only good thing is the DJ.

After our microscopic martini's @ Hanny's, my bf tiff and I decided to walk over to Bar Smith and check it out. It was a perfect day and we sat out on the front patio. The bartender came out with a beaming smile to take our order. We asked what her specialty was and she said Citrus Martini's soooo.... Citrus Martini's it was. They came out promptly and were DELICIOUS! (see pics) We were also in the mood for something sweet so she also suggested the chocolate torte and we are so glad she did. It was decadent and purrrrrfect. The music was nice, the weather was as good as it gets in AZ, the service was great and the martini's were yummy. What more could you ask for?? We will be back!

DJ Senbad. If you know you know

Bar Smith is a cool different type of venue for very reasonable drink prices and mixture of music. It's right downtown in a cool spot with other clubs on each side. This is eclectic, dance, hip hop, and house music all in one. There are two stories each one with DJs playing different music. The top floor is outside on the balcony roof top with the entire wall images from a projection screen with a bar and decent size dance floor for a roof top spot. This place isn't pretentious which is always nice that you can just have a good night out and enjoy yourself without having to be dressed to the nines or try act hard and get bottle service for $1000 like you do in Scottsdale and people just staring for no reason. I won't get on my soap box here, not the place. DJ Senbad is the nuts!!! He is a freaking awesome DJ and all around nice guy that is very hospitable. I know this because I see him high fiving, hugging people and always happy when he is on the ones and twos. Always plays good music and doesn't skip a beat. The drinks are a great price. They do good pours and don't over charge you like some of these other places that try to stiff you with their lame pour counts. I would absolutely recommend going here especially if you are downtown and want to dance and enjoy a good crowd. Say what up to Senbad when you go upstairs if he is playing and give him a hello and high five. Good times, good vibes, good spot.

Rooftop!

Hip hop downstairs and house techno upstairs on the roof top! Amazing downtown Phoenix views with an awesome vibe. Dance, dance, dance! One of the best clubs around!

The music was pretty good but the bar was way to packed for my comfort. It's a younger crowd so just be prepared that.

Outside, we feasted on cheap eats from (I can't remember the name), but we ordered everything from tacos to nachos to fries and I think empanadas? Great music, great lighting, service, and drinks. Clean pours. Balanced. Not over-mixed. Just enough sweetness to get you in trouble. Crowd was mixed, stylish... looked like people who know where to be without needing to post about it. The seating's cozy enough to post up and talk but open enough to float around if you're trying to socialize. It had that lounge-meets-night-out energy. Entry is free, but you do enter through security guards and pat downs. As soon as we were through security, we were immersed in art through color and sound. It felt like an unending psychedelic labyrinth! Through bushes, we spotted meat cooking on a grill. To our left was a lit up bar, the first of many. Keep walking, and soon we were surrounded by paintings. It was like a choose-your-own adventure! Go left towards art or step to the right to find a covered turf lawn with a live band. We grabbed cocktails at a variety of bars, including a Japanese inspired garden. It was like a lucid dream. We walked through an L.E.D. tunnel, passed couples sitting at elevated hexagon shaped booths, and at one point ended up in a house with a dance party. It's a unique concept. It felt lively and fun, with a bit of adventure as we walked around. I'd definitely recommend this as a solid 4th or 5th date spot, great energy, social, lounge, saki bar, margarita bar and something a little different but all in one place.

We stopped by Wren & Wolf to collect our boarding passes and sat down to relax in the lounge until we got closer to boarding time. We then walked around the building to the dimly lit entrance and waited behind the ropes. At exactly the boarding time, the captain opened the doors and greeted us. We walked by the check-in area, and our tickets were checked. The stewardesses then gave us a pair of wings. This flight was to Tokyo and the travel warning mentioned kaiju activities. Glancing into the seating area it was shaped like a luxury plane with windows and ample space to move around. At the back of the plane were seats wrapping around and the cabin was very beautifully decorated. Towards the front of the aircraft, there was a beautiful bar. The photos in the advertisements are not photoshopped the place is amazing. The stewardesses escorted us to our seats and they were very comfortable. Depending on group size you either get a small table for two or for 4. This reminded us of the movie Soul Plane lol. Kiki and Madie were our stewardesses on the flight and started us with a complimentary drink and some peanuts. As we were taking off you could see the plane taking off through the windows and you could feel vibrations on the floor as if the plane was rolling. Then once in the air they played a large selection of music. Keep an eye out the windows because you will see strange things like we spotted King Kong and then while in flight we saw Ghidorah fly by and I think I got a glimpse of Mothra, but was not sure. Kiki and Madie were amazing they kept the drinks flowing and we watched the captain make drinks because he was also the bartender. We then ran into turbulence and into a storm and spotted Godzilla, Mechagodzilla, and Ghidorah amidst the dark clouds and lightning. Then at this time the martini carts came around serving handcrafted martinis at your table side. After we got out of the dark clouds there was a tasty cookie and more drinks. The service was amazing. Kiki and Madie were Rockstars and were very efficient at their jobs. They provided light conversation and were knowledgeable about the menu and gave great recommendations. When we got close to Tokyo and were ready to land there was a last call and we could see Tokyo from the windows as we did our final approach. The whole experience was well worth it and each flight is different. We spoke to some other passengers who have been on other flights and they can't get enough of it. The captain's quarters section in the front of the plane served some The flight time was 90 minutes and there is a bathroom on the plane. The restaurant itself is hidden inside another called Coabana, but there is a door clearly labeled Cocktails to get to it. Through the door the hustle and bustle of the busy restaurant outside gives way to a cocktail bar that feels much more intimate, with dark lighting and quieter music than is playing outside. It was perfect to converse and enjoy drinks with friends! This time we went with some friends, and each of us could not stop talking about how good everything was! We started with In To The Blue shots for the table, which were so good we wished we had sipped them. Then we ordered our first round of drinks and food. We shared a plate of nachos and they had the perfect balance of toppings and chips, then my partner and I ordered some tacos and a Cubano Sammie. The sandwich was delicious, much better than the average Cubano I've come across in Phoenix. The tacos were also great, and $11 for 3 was a steal! Our friends also got tacos, which they enjoyed. My partner ordered Cupid's Dagger and the Insomniac to drink, and she loved both of them! Cupid's Dagger was also served with a bubble of smoke and it was on a little silver tray, which was cool. I ordered the Son of a Peach and Femme Fatale, and they were both delicious. The Femme Fatale was also served inside of a wooden cake tray filled with smoke, which was a very cool experience and added to the flavor of the drink. All in all this is not just a restaurant, but an experience. And if you have some money to go out in downtown Phoenix, I would say this experience is not one to miss!
