The pizza was very good (as was the case on other visits). Still unimpressive wine selections (by the glass and bottle). Service was among the worst we've ever experienced. The woman "helping" us was unfriendly, actively rude, and obstinate. Examples: my husband was mid-sentence ordering a drink when we first arrived and she said "well, I'll let you think about it" and quickly walked away. Later, he ordered a glass of wine, which she forgot to bring. Even later, when ordering dessert, I asked her whether there were any fruit or nuts in the desserts we were considering ... I asked where what was in/on the rum baba ... she told me "whipped cream" ... I confirmed with her no fruit? She said "whipped cream". Well, it came with cherries and a cherry sauce all over the cake and whipped cream ... I'm allergic to cherries (and many other fruits ... that's why I asked). The chocolate dessert had hazelnuts, after she told us there were no nuts. I'm allergic to certain nuts too. Her obstinance was not only rude, but could result in a MEDICAL SITUATION for guests ... from other reviews, it seems this woman could be the person who is providing abysmal service to other guests too ... it seems she either needs training, or perhaps a role outside of the service industry. To the manager/owners : please look at the rude service reviews and address them ... I had an overall decent experience at bar del corso but nothing mind blowing. I had been missing many opportunities to swing by but finally got one after stopping at a champagne bar with a friend. I would've liked to see more vegetarian options on the menu. Italian is a cuisine pretty easy to make vegetarian friendly and it was a bummer to only see margherita-esque type options. It's also pretty pricey so not really a place I would go without planning for it. Lastly, can we just admit the scissors to cut pizza is a little weird?? It resulted in some wonky slices and I would've preferred it pre-cut but that's absolutely just me being picky. Great option for a nice and a very well priced dinner in Seattle! My friend and I met up for dinner on a weekend and we ordered 4 dish: rapini (with poached egg), arugula and beets salad, grilled octopus and beans, and a Funghi (mushroom and sausage) pizza. We both enjoyed the meal and the ambiance of the restaurant...it was a non pretentious classuc meal yet very casuso enough that you feel so comfortable hanging out there. Our meal portion was good! Our of all the dish, I enjoyed the Rapini (fresh filling and still light and refreshing to eat with accompanied bread!) and the grilled octopus (great to have octopus once in a while for me...and I loved that they gave us plenty of bread to sop the sauce!) The most. The pizza was good too..it wasn't too oily and I loved the smell and the mix of mushroom and meat on it. The salad was ok..quite ordinary..but nothing wrong with it. I think I will skip next time to try something else. We ate a lot but yet still had some salad and pizza leftovers for the next day. Overall, a great, busy very reasonably priced restaurant in Beacon Hill to check out! P.S: go early when they open at 5pm! We showed up at 4:4 5pm and the line was already forming. been here a few times because i love pizza. the pizza is..good. the sauce tastes nice and fresh. mozzarella and buffalo mozzarella are both good. the dough is astounding, really the only reason i have come back. but the pizza overall is a little too light on the sauce and its always more charred than it should be. i didnt bother mentioning most of my pizza tastes borderline burnt due to the excessive char, because all of the pizzas look that way. i love a good char but its just too much and the cooking time or oven temp needs to be refined. the underside of my most recent pizza was almost entirely black. appetizers are decent. i enjoyed the burrata and crostini, & the fried risotto balls are pretty good too. the restaurant is really loud. dont expect to have a nice quiet dinner. the service is hilariously bad. 90% of the staff is exceptionally rude and pretentious, & im not sure why. even if the food was fantastic, its not an excuse to act that way. the restaurant only exists because of its patrons that come in to eat, yet when you walk in you are treated like garbage lol. i highly doubt the owner/management is unaware of their staff's attitude, but choses to do nothing about it. i don't think ill come back again. read more

After a long day of hiking I was really excited to check out Bar del Corso. I was highly disappointed. The food was ok, nothing spectacular or that stuck out. Decided to try someplace new for my birthday meal and had heard great things about the pizza at Bar del Corso. Unfortunately, our server was extremely curt with us during almost every interaction, and when she finally came by to take out dessert order, they were out of everything but the affogato (not something that I can partake of late in the evening and not a real dessert as far as I'm concerned). No apology was offered. All of this despite the fact that (unbeknownst to me) my husband had called in advance -- twice!-- to tell them it was my birthday and been assured that there would be a dessert they could put a candle in. Don't get me wrong, the pizza was really great, some of the best that I've had in the city, but there are plenty of other places to get good pizza where the service is gracious and welcoming. Also, the wine by the glass selection was paltry and uninteresting, if that's important to you. I can't recommend Bar del Corso, especially for a special occasion. What a bummer. read more

Bar Del Corso is a hidden gem of Beacon Hill! I can't believe I've driven past this place a bajillion times over 10 year and yet I have not once tried it until now. I came in on a Friday around 6:30pm for a casual date night - we only waited about 5 minutes till we got seated. I was encouraged to find a decent amount of people waiting inside the restaurant! Their interior feels homey and it's bustling with energy. I did find the noise level louder than a normal restaurant, but I liked how energetic the atmosphere felt. What to order: -FUNGHI PIZZA: if you're a shroom lover like me, then you'll love this pizza! Mushrooms and sausage! It also comes with pizza scissors so you can cut the slice to the size of your desire. Its wood-fired pizza too. The only little let down was that some bits of the bottom of the pizza was a little burnt. But the flavor on top was still great so I still ate it! -FRIED RISOTTO BALLS: its got a great crisp, yet piping hot interior with melty mozzarella cheese in the middle. A great small plate to go with your meal! -ARUGULA PEAR BALSAMIC SALAD: the balance of flavors and textures in this salad was refreshing and delicious. Pears were sweet and the cheese and arugula paired so well with it. -GRILLED OCTOPUS: so tender and it felt like a mix between italian and spanish flavors. The sauce is delicious so I would be sure to order a side of housemade bread to soak it all up! We practically finished ALL this food except for half the pizza and the bill was under $55. What a bargain! Service was quick and the server who helped us was attentive and helpful in helping us make our choices. I have to start this by saying we LOVE Bar Del Corso and have been coming for several years. We adored coming early on in the pandemic and sitting in the outdoor patio and having the delicious food. We were ELATED when a favorite server from another restaurant in town ended up here - she was well trained in customer service and always made us feel super welcome and was responsive. Flash forward to end of August when we came back and showed up with our one year old for our reservation and were told the table wasn't ready but it would be soon... well over 30 more minutes of waiting it wasn't ready still and each time someone would come to ask if they could help us they'd run back and then not return. There was zero attemp to make us comfortable while we waited. Finally one server told us that the people at our table weren't leaving and "there was nothing they could do." I said "you can't ask them to leave?" And was told no - and again told nothing but we must just wait. Turns out at least one of the individuals we dealt with was the owner. We weren't comped anything as we waited well past our reservation time with a now starving toddler, nor were we given an apology. Then after FINALLY being seated we overheard multiple servers saying it was their last day and saying another longterm waitress who had worked there for YEARS left the week before. The owners never came an apologized for the delay, didn't comp dessert or a drink for the wait.... something has changed at Bar Del Corso and it just isn't a nice place to eat anymore when the service is so horrible and I can't figure out why there's been a drastic turnover in the staff who were the ones who used to make it such a great experience. The food is great, but I really hope the owners take a note on how to treat the staff and customers. read more

First, I feel conflicted. The stars are NOT about the food, which is consistently excellent. I come here whenever I can. I LOVE BdC and its owner is wonderful. I could easily eat here 5 days a week. My comment is about a key server. I have no idea why she found it acceptable to treat us with such hostility and outright anger. We were just normal, chill guests looking for pizza and a few drinks on a weeknight. This wasn't 'I'm busy and just being efficient' service, this was outright sarcastic, rude responses, eye rolling, irritation, cutting us off when we asked questions, and at a few points, things were slammed on the table. She actually yelled at us twice and basically pushed us out the door. I'm not an entitled customer. I give a lot of grace. I'm cool if things are mixed up and even if service is bad, I assume positive intent and still tip over 20% - especially since COVID. I don't ask for modifications and roll with changes if things aren't available. I know good staff is hard to get. I've seen other comments here and I'm not alone. I strongly recommend this server is taken off the main floor/outdoor area if she hates the customers that much. Her anger is palpable, it made us all uncomfortable, and we spent way too much money to be treated so badly. Either this is her, or it's a red flag that something else is happening in staff management. Totally floored that it has been over three years since my third visit to Bar del Corso in Seattle's Beacon Hill neighborhood (7/14/17). After another 10 hour workday, I drove in southbound traffic from Lynnwood (630pm Friday!) blasting my stereo with the occasional expletive....but darn it, I was on ravenous mission to have a real dinner. Lunch was via work vendor machine and long depleted. Surprisingly, there was not crowd waiting for a table! I was able to be seated at 730pm on a Friday, come as you are, with no reservations...almost unheard of these days. Perusing the menu, one can practically feel the stress and fatigue melt away. The outdoor seating, bar area, and indoor dining area were fairly full which kept the wait staff hopping and the conversation din dialed up. Lots of visual distractions from art work, food presentation, people watching which enhanced my dining experience. Nice selection of beverages, especially with a full bar. Ordered a pint of local brew ($5.50), and for me copious refills of iced water. Starter small plates, but generously sized, selected the Vongole alla Marinara ($10) with house bread and Burrata with heirloom and cherry tomatoes ($11). The latter was literally summer on a plate...creamy burrata on crostini, sweetest tomatoes, enhanced by the fresh basil, evoo, sea salt, and balsamic vinegar. Mmmmm! Pizzas arrived well timed from their lovely Italian wood fired oven. Definitely experienced pizzaiolos! One also receives large shears to cut slices as big or small as you want. Last time I saw this was at the late Pizzeria Gabbiano. Got filled up on starters, so boxed up the Romana ($13.50) with added mozzarella di bufala ($3.50) and the highly recommended Funghi ($14). This one had Crimini mushrooms, housemade sausage, cherry tomatoes with fontina and pecorino cheeses. Perfect composition! Dessert were slices of Chocolate Hazelnut Gianduja cake served warm with whipped cream ($8 each). Just wished it had little to no powdered sugar. Murphy's Law the gaming teenager, The Homie, texts me and now decides he's starving. So I placed an additional takeout order for Suppli al Telefono (aka aracini, $6) and Polpettine ($10)...the latter are 5 massive meatballs in sauce, not a Star Wars emperor. More slices of house bread were also kindly included. Kept piping hot enroute to Shoreline. Also, bought a $25 gift certificate for my DPT who just moved from Mercer Island to Beacon Hill. Figured get him acquainted with a terrific, well established neighborhood spot! Bar del Corso remains well worth the visit. Welcoming. Pleasant staff. Excellent cuisine. Just knocked off one collective Yelp star because of the wait during peak time, tried to turn our table over sooner as the later crowd was resurging. Also, the chairs aren't designed for lingering. If you really want to try everything on the menu, be prepared to take some home. There will be more than plenty on your plate. I have to agree with Jenny's review below. I don't like docking stars, but a server really made my experience terrible. Food was 5/5, very cute set-up and patio, greeting staff was great, however our main server was condescending and rude. My friend and I asked if they had desserts available (none on menu given), and she very blankly stared and said, "Well yeah, verbally." She sped through options without a beat and we were dumbfounded at how she presented it that we couldn't answer immediately. We ordered drinks for the time being which was simply an IPA and a soda. A nicer server came out with our drinks, but was about to hand me a wrong beverage that the first server wrote down. Early on, the experience was continually unraveling. I decided later on to order a cocktail and asked our (first) server if she had any personal recommmendations. She wasn't helpful at all. She responded, "Well, what do you drink?" "Do you want a menu?". At that point, I was over it and ready to go home. I worked as a server in both a restaurant and a hospital, and I believe I practice good customer etiquette but this was not it. Love this place. Fun and friendly atmosphere with good service, food, and drinks to boot. Came on the recommendation of a friend, and have been back twice more for drinks and pizza. My first experience at Bar Del Corso was April 2018- three of us stopping in for dinner around 7 PM on a weekday evening. The wait was about 10 minutes, and even more painless considering you can order a drink while you wait. I have yet to experience a wait more than 5-10 minutes, but 7/8 is generally also the earliest you'll catch me out for dinner. Parking is easy on Beacon Ave or in any of the neighborhoods perpendicular. Inside the atmosphere is very much a casual neighborhood bar/cafe vibe, with an open kitchen concept, an open area of seating between wooden beams, as well as seating at the bar. I think this serves well for any occasion whether you're having a quick/casual drink, dinner, or a decent night out in the neighborhood. The menu is seasonal and simple with a good selection of small plates, salads, cheese/meat, and excellent Neapolitan pizzas! Can't go wrong with their salads/veggies, the Burrata is a fantastic choice, as well as the grilled octopus. The Pizza... yes. I'd venture to say the pizza here falls confidently in my top 2/3 favorites in Seattle. Perfectly thin and wood-fire charred, the right amount of sauce and cheese, with delicious toppings. The Funghi is a great choice. They also provide you with fun pizza cutting scissors to create your own sized slices. As for the bar- they generally have a small but good selection of beers on tap, and great cocktails at a fair price. I've been more than happy with the Aperol Spritz and Negroni here. All things considered, Bar Del Corso hits high on every cylinder. It is convenient to get to and park, wait times aren't crazy, boasts a fun and friendly atmosphere for any occasion, and then there's the pizza.. (insert heart-eyes emoji.) Am updating my review of this neighborhood and locally owned favorite which continues to rate 5 stars in my book. Despite the brutality of the pandemic on the service industry, BDC has continue to put out amazing food and keep on pivoting. The low reviews of entitled a-holes who don't understand the challenges on owners and employees in the service industry really make me crazy so I just have to point out some of the things that make BDC stand out. Throughout the pandemic, Bar del Corso was my go-to splurge for weekend take out, especially if having (outdoor) dinner guests. Their to-go food travels amazingly well and is so incredibly flavorful. I always over order so that I have left overs to enjoy the next day. They only put out as many of each item as they could deliver on, so we had to place our orders early in the day before our favorite items ran out. Once restaurants reopened they expanded their covered back deck for safe and distanced dining. They always put the safety of their servers first, such as continuing not to seat customers at the bar where they would breathe directly at the staff all night long. BDC has become a destination spot for people from other neighborhoods and even other cities. I hope you enjoy the food but are capable of treating this neighborhood treasure as you would one in your own neighborhood. They're not trying to be pretentious, but have earned the accolades they've received and continue to bust their butts to serve you hot, delicious and authentic food. read more

Food 5/5 stars. I hate to knock stars for service alone but left to frustrated at what could have been a much better overall experience. Was greeted very kindly by the staff up front who showed us to the back patio where they are doing outdoor seating for covid. It was covered and wind-proof with cute string lights and plenty of heaters. Felt very comfortable despite it being a cold day. Experience started a little strange with server making us feel like we were inconveniencing her by dining there and asking for recommendations. I get things are tough with winter and covid and not everyone has to be chipper, but an ounce of friendliness would be appreciated. I then ordered a negroni with dry vermouth and received an orange drink (which I knew was aperol and not campari as it should have had. Plus the drink was not nearly bitter enough lol). When I asked her if it was campari or aperol, she said "Well a negroni ALWAYS has campari" which was a bit condescending. To be nice, I responded "when I make it with dry vermouth it's light red, not orange." She defended her position that white vermouth would make it lighter but she said she could make me a new one. She came back with the new drink and no words. It was definitely correct the second time with campari. It's ok to make a mistake... nobody is going to be mad. But definitely strange and frustrating to feel like you're the one doing something wrong and being an inconvenience when you are the guest. Anyway... I tried to put it behind me and enjoy the food. Arugula salad was amazing. Acidic dressing was balanced by the butternut squash, cheese and hazelnuts. Homemade meatballs tasted so fresh. The sauce was amazing... was the right move to save some for the pizza crust. Mussels were ok. Star of the show was the spicy sausage that came with. Pizza was a perfectly thin texture with lots of flavor with mushroom and sausage. Nice to add a kick with red pepper flakes on top. Would come back for ambiance and food. Pre-pandemic I would have given this place 4 stars. Idk what happened but last time we went, we got pizza that tasted very burnt. We also had a waiter that was so disruptive to the vibe; angrily walking across the dining room as if they were mad - stomping with their heels which just added to the sour feelings. This is one of my favorite pizza spots in Seattle! It took me awhile to come by and try it but I'm so glad I finally did. I've always had to wait for a table here, but it's totally worth it. We were a large party of 12 and so we got to try every single small plate on the menu - sometimes more than once. Everything was excellent - a few ingredients done exceptionally well. Seasoning was spot on with good use of acid (so often missing) and heat. The beets were light and refreshing, the octopus was cooked perfectly with just a hint of heat, the sausage was fresh made, the burrata silky and creamy - I could go on and on and on. Given that we were a party of 12, I though the kitchen may get in the weeds, but quite the opposite - food was coming out faster than we could keep up so there was always something to try. Service was unobtrusive and attentive - just what you want. After over 2 hours, we unfortunately had to leave, and were shocked at how little we spent! I was apprehensive after reading the many recent reviews complaining about service, but we wanted to try the food so we went anyway. The service we received was actually very nice and we didn't experience the rude waitress the other reviews mentioned. The pizzas were great, typical wood fired pizza with fresh ingredients and a charred/chewy texture. I thought the real star of the show was the appetizers! We got the fried risotto and burrata toast and both were delicious. We sat on the heated patio which was pleasant and warm. It wasn't too crowded when we arrived for our 5:15 reservation but by the time we were leaving it was filling up. read more
