Salame Piccante

Decent food and very cute Beacon hill pizza spot! Friendly staff. We sat at the bar but I would like to go back when it's warmer and sit in their patio space. Clams were delicious! Pizza was solid, crust was crispier than I'd like but that's personal preference.

What an amazing meal! We got seats outside, highly recommend that oasis as it was a little stuffy with the oven inside. Really great cocktail list. If you like an aperol spritz don't fret, but they have like 5 other spritzes that are really fun. I had one w Lambrusco that was super refreshing. Also tried this gin drink w orange peel simple syrup. Super recommend that one! Very friendly server, he recommended salad + starter + pizza for two. We ordered the green salad, if you like a little bitter from radicchio I recommend, and if you don't pick around because the dressing was great. We got two starters w the plan to taken home. Eggplant caponata w burrata on the specials list and the meatballs from reg menu. I like the caponata' better than meatball by a small margins, but wife said meatballs were amazing! We got a spicy salami pizza, basically a pepperoni pizza. It was great. They give you scissors to cut it which was a first for me. Will certainly come back. First time to that neighborhood, parking wasn't a problem on the main drag.

Bar del Corso has been in Beacon Hill for a while now. It's tucked in a charming stretch of the neighborhood, not far from other popular spots like Milk Drunk and Homer. They have a small menu with Neapolitan pizza and small plates. Here's what we ordered, in descending order of favorites: Mussels ($18, small plate) Cooked in garlic, chili pepper, cherry tomatoes, fennel, parsley, and white wine. The mussels were perfectly tender-- not overdone like they so often are-- and tasted fresh. The sauce was light but flavorful, with the white wine adding just the right acidity. Supplì al Telefono ($10, small plate) Fried risotto balls stuffed with mozzarella. These were dense, comforting, and had that satisfying mozzarella pull when you bite in. It's a classic dish that's hard to mess up, and they did a solid job. That said, I've had versions elsewhere that were just as good, so it didn't totally stand out. Margherita Bufala ($26, pizza special) This one came topped with prosciutto di Parma and arugula. The mozzarella was creamy and fresh, and the prosciutto was sliced to order, which I always appreciate. They clearly take their time with each pizza. You can watch them carefully monitor the pizza, then top everything just as it comes out of the oven. Great char. However, comparerd to other pizzas around Seattle, it didn't wow me, but it's solid.

4.5 Stars Cute Italian spot located in Beacon Hill. The pizza here will knock your socks off. Drinks: I had a wine spritz with grapefruit juice ($14) -- it was sweet! My boyfriend got the Old Fashioned ($15), which he said was good and strong. Food: Housemade Bread ($4) -- I wish this had been toasted. The bread was fresh and spongy! Margherita Pizza ($21) -- This dish alone was worth 5 stars. It featured a perfectly charred thin crust topped with a light layer of sweet tomato sauce, delicate basil, and mozzarella. Wonderfully composed. The staff was attentive and friendly! :)

Good, but not great. The funghi was a little too salty (it was actually more of a sausage pizza than a mushroom pizza) and both pizzas' crusts didn't really have any flavor to them. The eggplant appetizer that we ordered was actually everyone's favorite. I would give Bar Del Corso 4 stars, but since everything on to their menu is rather expensive, I'll dock off another.

One of the best Italian places in Seattle, definitely a local neighborhood restaurant style with great patio set up. Definitely book ahead as they get filled pretty fast on weekends. Staff is friendly and food was great! We ordered the Margherita pizza, Salame Piccante pizza, Italian sausage with figs, Fried risotto balls- these were amazing. Drinks were nice too.

First time coming here, Finally made it! We didn't have reservations for a party of 4, but they were so accommodating & we were seated right away! I love the atmosphere here! We were seated in the patio, & Oh, what a great vibe it was! The pizza was excellent, thin, crisp crust, with the perfect toppings to crust ratio. The baccala fritter was different (in a good way) with just a very mild cod flavor. And the rapini & burrata appetizer was delicious with balsamic & olve oil.

Are there gluten free options here?

I didn't see any specifically mentioned on the menu... however, they are very accommodating so I'm sure they could whip something up fantastic. And the escarole salad, meat and cheese plates are likely to meet your needs! And be delicious!

The pizza itself is actually pretty good, which is why I kept coming back and really wanted to support this small business. Unfortunately, the customer service and wait times have consistently been disappointing. Tonight, I stood at the entrance for about 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged or greeted me. The employee who eventually helped me was nice, but the overall experience still didn't feel welcoming or attentive. Over several visits, the service has just not matched the quality of the food. In this economy, it's truly a blessing for businesses to still have loyal customers coming through the door and wanting to support local spots. At the very least, customers should feel welcomed, appreciated, and taken care of when they walk in. I genuinely hope they improve the service side of things because the food has potential, the bar vibes they've created are pretty cool as well and I'd love to be able to give this place a better review in the future.

Upon arrival after 9:00 pm on a Tuesday, we asked to set in one of the booth but they said no because of their strict policy for the booth the used x 3 or more people. Meanwhile, all 4 booth were empty. The kind waitress then offered to move us to the bar booth if something opened up, we kindly agreed and simple went on with our night at different table. While on the table my friend picked up 3 small little flowers from the base and said happy birthday to me, and I put the little flowers on my hair, then I told the waitress I hope you don't mind, my friend gave this little flowers from the table it is my birthday, to which the waitress replied happy birthday, I have no problem with that!. Then comes the manager, and tells me sarcastically, that is a cute flower but it is not yours to take, you should have asked permission anyways, I told him with a smile, but is my birthday and it a tiny flower may I keep it? He stated no, because other costumers will come in and there are no flowers in the table. I told him to replace it with another from another table and he said No give it back now please. It is not yours to take!!! Me, already feeling unwelcome and missed treated, yet still stayed but couldn't even finish my pizza because of how upset I was. I told my friend I wanted to leave. After closing the tab, I walked upfront and waited for my friend. Upon walking outside, the managers comes after us screaming "hey give me back the flower" you took it, at this point I was still walking ahead on my friend and I can hear the manager yelling "she stole it" give it back now, she is a thief, you come here to steal is that it? I repeatedly, told him I didn't take it and even open my purse and told him to come search it, but he stormed back in while insulting and yelling to me IN PUBLIC! - I was deeply humiliated in front of absolute strangers. I didn't see my friend taking the flower either, and if he did, he never gave it to me otherwise, I would have throw it at his face. The luck of hospitality, professionalism, and simply compassion and dignity from this person is Absolutely Unacceptable. I was treated with far more respect and the Four Seasons (and they did give me flowers), than this ridiculous place. It is a shame that the owner would allow someone like this to be the front of the business. And I feel deeply sorry for their employees to have to endure this person as I saw on their eyes the embarrassment they felt. I deserve nothing else but an apology for the way I was treated. I too work in hospitality, I know what is like to provide costumer service providing healthcare and never in my wildest days would I ever treat anyone with such disrespect and unprofessionalism. I recommend this person to be replace or re train. Otherwise it will only affect the business.

If that line is intimidating or wet (think rain!) then duck inside to Pizza and Pasta Bar for a delicious meal. While there we met the owners Bruno and Goli who were helping out behind the counter. They are the nicest people ever! So friendly and accommodating and always smiling. Their pride in their restaurant really shows in their care of the food and customers. I had the infamous meatball sandwich and my wife had the chicken carbonara. They gave us each a slice of their pizza for free as they had a bit extra from one that just came out of the oven. The food was prepared in front of you which is always interesting to watch and the charming brick pizza oven was directly in front of us so we could watch that process as well. Pretty cool. There are a wide variety of pizzas and pastas, desserts and drinks (alcohol too!) available on the menu. We ate at at the bar and had a wonderful conversation with the owners as they bustled about in the open cooking area. I enjoyed my meatball sandwich which had great crunchy crusty bread that held in the contents of melted cheese, red sauce and meatballs. A great choice to get when there. My wife liked her chicken carbonara and as the portion was pretty large, we were able to take some home for later. Extra yummy for me (ha ha)! The complimentary pizza slices were a hit for us as well. Napoli style with thin crust and flavorful toppings. We found out that Goli created the restaurant's design with the face of a woman that looks a lot like Venus in "The Birth of Venus" painting by Botticelli in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence Italy (just sayin'). Except that this logo has hair made of pasta! Good enough to eat! Give this place a try. You'll leave with a big smile on your faces!

The oysters were the main draw for me, and they were totally worth the visit. Old Stove serves them with a savory watermelon sauce in addition to a traditional cocktail sauce--eaten together, it's a flavor explosion that I can't quite describe. We also enjoyed the garlic everything fries, which were delicious! We just had to try a flight to sample the brews. There are some really good beers available here, especially the Belgian blonde, citra pale ale, and the stout. I did not really care for the seasonal sour (grapefruit, I think)--to me, it just tasted like a sour and nothing more, but someone with more interest in sour beers would probably enjoy it just fine. Despite the busy night, our server checked on us regularly and was very personable, stopping to chat with us about the local sports scene. There's plenty to look at, inside and out. If you can snag a seat outside, you'll get to enjoy the waterfront. Inside, the decor is industrial but fun. Not sure if this runs all the time, but when we were there, the tvs were playing vintage beer ads, which was quite fun. They also sell some pretty good t-shirt designs. Overall, Old Stove Brewing is the perfect combo of good location, good food, and good beer. Definitely recommend a visit when in the Pike Place area!

They gave us these post cards to write down our individual drinks. FYI - this place requires using your smart phone to scan a QR code for the menu. We ordered 2 apps (salmon dip with pita chips & chips and cheese dip) I ordered fish and chips. Buddy got the meat loaf. Our beer showed up quick. Waiter always checked on us often. Our apps showed up and they were both delicious. Then 5 minutes later our main dish orders showed up. Wasn't too happy with that because we wasted time to taste our beers and snack on the apps. They need to work on their timing. Need at least 10 minutes in between the beer and apps. The food overall is admittedly top notch. Fish and chips FRESH! The fish was juicy and the fried crust was perfection. Pieces were large. They will ask if you want 3 or 4. 3 is enough. If they can work on timing the drinks and food this place would be a 5 out 5, but will deduct a star because of that. The overall vibe of the place was nice. Huge layout with wooden picnic style tables. Outdoor tables if you're lucky to get one. Large tanks to brew beer surrounding the room and a merch table.

Unfortunately, the experience is consistently dampened by one of weekend bartenders. As others have mentioned, it's that taller bartender (Alex?) who repeatedly comes across as arrogant and dismissive to us; a less than desirable character trait for a bartender. It's such a pity because that is the sole reason we now lead our groups to spend their money and patronize other establishments instead. Recently we did give Diller another try, but sadly it's the same story and thus this feedback. Hospitality makes a HUGE difference. Bartending isn't just about making a good drink and expecting tips. As someone who tended bar all over Seattle for 23 years, I know how much energy and attitude shape a guest's night. When the service feels cold and passive-aggressively rude, it's hard to feel good about the experience. It's disappointing, because this place has so much potential. Hopefully management considers bringing in weekend staff whose personalities reflect the warmth and atmosphere the space deserves, there are plenty of more qualified bartenders in Seattle that would gladly fill their spot.
