    Popcorn chicken

Ive been here twice now and would give 3.5/5 as a pretty average place. I enjoy the food, mostly the appetizers and the noodle dishes. I wouldn't order the dim sum options again. It's usually pretty empty so service is fast. However I do find the prices to be steep - I got a scallion pancake and popcorn chicken for $22. The chili oil containers also tend to be on the dirty side

How do you serve a customer burnt food. The burntness over powers the rest of the food so you can't even taste the food. I ordered the pork and cabbage and it was extremely bland.

I ate here with a group and was able to sample a few items. Full disclosure, my experience with Asian cuisine has been in the USA so not a connoisseur. The pork bao buns were a hit with everyone. The won ton soup was very under-seasoned, but had beautiful tiny baby bok choi. The shrimp balls may be an acquired taste but could be described as shrimp hotdog balls. Sea weed salad was very unique, might have been my favorite; much different than what I've had at sushi restaurants. It looks like actual$ seaweed and has a delicious garlic vinegar dressing. Dumplings were ok, didn't love one of the seasonings they use but that's a personal preference thing. The server was ok. Not especially attentive or friendly but got the job done. Ambiance was like a mall restaurant, pretty sparse/cold. Never having had Taiwanese food I don't know if I'm a fair judge. Many recommend this place. I don't care to go back. The flavors didn't please me except for the pork bao buns and I've had the same at other restaurants.

My xiao long bao didn't have soup in them so it made the texture a little dry:/. I also had the steamed pork bun which was okay, flavoring was bland and could definitely taste the green onion as it overpowers the entire bun. It's a nice shop but I might not come back for the xiao long bao or steamed pork bun. The service was great due to the vacancy in the building

Service was amazing, food came out quickly too. I would come back mainly for the xiao long bao and pork dumplings. We also got the beef bao and the braised beef noodles which were both really good. We were told everything is handmade too so definitely worth a visit! They had pirate themed decor when I visited too which was fun lol

Surprisingly good. I didn't have high expectations, thinking it's for not-so-picky students of UCR. However the food is very good, not just US-TW restaurant good, but I think it'd make it in Taiwan as well. Everything we ordered was above average at the minimum. Beef noodle soup the 2nd best I've had in the US. XLB pretty much the best in the US outside of DTF, and that's saying a lot! I sincerely hope this place will stay open with the same quality level so we can become patron.

03.2022 So happy that we have a new Taiwanese food place in the area! We got seated right away and the lady was so nice. Excited to try their other dishes next time. C1 STEAMED XIAOLONG BAO 8PCS (10.99) deliciously soupy. Definitely get this if you are here. Don't forget to try it with the vinegar. It adds a whole new dimension to the dish. C6 POPCORN CHICKEN (8.99) Also delicious but gets harder as it gets colder so suggest eating it while it's warm still. C7 FRIED FISH TOFU 8PCS (7.99) soft, bland, and chewy on the inside with a deliciously salty outside, this one has a good balance of flavor. C8 PIGGY BUNS 4PCS (7.99) so cute you don't want to eat it. We waited too long to eat it coz it's so cute. Gonna take it home and re-steam it. H1 JAPANESE CURRY CHICKEN RICE BOWL (11.99) satisfied our craving for Japanese curry. Has a lot of veggies tho. Our drinks: Q2 TAIWANESE MILK TEA (5.49) Q3 PASSIONFRUIT GREEN TEA (5.49) my husband liked this the best Q8 MANGO BLACK TEA (5.49) I'm always gonna get this it's so delicious ***soft opening special, it's buy 2 get 1 free (or buy 1 get 2nd one half off. MoVal is where I hang frequently but the amount of authentic Asian food is disappointing. Luckily there's a few spots 10 mins away near UCR! This is the only Taiwanese spot nearby and the only one that offers beef noodle soup, a classic comfort for many Asian folks like myself. I have my own recipe which I've tweaked and perfected over the years but when I don't want to go through all the effort of cooking, this will do. It's good, not perfect, but I ate at home and added some dobanjiang, Szechuan spice and some msg for a richer broth. It's just nice to have a spot like this close by!

I have been to this place twice now. Service is fast and food is good. Tried a few things. Xiao long bao these are my favorite. I have tried at other places, for the price they are very good. Have tried other places and the meat was fatty. Not here, Beef noodle soup and fried rice nice and they are flavorful. You know it's good when my kids keep asking to go when in the area!

Had awakening for Bao after watching Joy ride movie. I found Bao CULTURE. WENT Sunday before noon. It was great as I went by myself. Server was awesome. Clean nice spacious. Ordered Longbaodumplings, pork shrimpdhumai pork steam buns and popcorn chicken to start... longbao was soooo good tasty...shumai very good quality ....fresh buns were good then ordered bbq pork buns again satisfied my cravings ...I will return...

Service was really good. The lady, I assume the owner, was extremely nice. Looks like a newer business. Most importantly, I enjoyed the food. Coming back for sure.

I came here for lunch service on a weekend day. The waitress was very friendly and greeted me immediately at the table. The different dishes that we had were good. Everything was pretty standard fare at a Taiwanese style cuisine. We had the beef noodle soup, popcorn chicken, and chicken curry rice. Everything was hot and quick to order. The only critique I would have is the popcorn chicken being a little bit on the floury side. But the flavors and spices that they were spot on. All of the service was excellent, whether getting everything out on time or asking if we needed something else. At no point did I feel like I had to chase down the waiter or other people were being attended to at my expense. I also had a peach tea at the end as a palette cleanser. It had just the right amount of flavor without being too sweet or too much ice in it. I didn't even need to tell the waitress how to make it. I really enjoyed coming here. I'll have to come back whenever I'm in the area again.

Big Sky was my **go-to Chinese food spot in Riverside** for years. **Then tonight happened.** I placed a DoorDash pickup order at their new location -- sweet and sour pork, beef chow fun, beef porridge, pork and shrimp siu mai, and white rice. They even threw in extra rice, and I was genuinely excited to dig in. That excitement ended the moment I looked down at my bowl and found a **MAGGOT sitting on top of my rice.** I called the restaurant immediately and calmly explained what happened. They told me to contact DoorDash since that's how I ordered. Fine. I reported it through DoorDash's platform and waited. Then I got a call back from DoorDash -- not to help me, but to relay a message: **Big Sky had contacted them specifically to refuse my refund.** Let that sink in. A customer found a maggot in their food, couldn't eat a single bite of a $54.19 order, and the restaurant's response was to **actively call DoorDash to make sure I didn't get my money back.** I understand that occasionally bugs happen in food service. It's gross, but I was fully prepared to move on had they simply taken responsibility. Instead, they chose to fight a $54 refund over a maggot. That tells you everything you need to know about how this restaurant values its customers. **Eat here at your own risk -- and if something's wrong, you're on your own.**

We went all in and tried a little bit of everything: shumai, shrimp dumplings, sticky rice in lotus leaf, BBQ pork buns, cucumber salad, pork XLB, black truffle & pork XLB, and beef fried udon noodles. Everything came out fresh, flavorful, and well executed........we cleared every plate. What really stood out was the service. Honestly, I don't always expect standout service at Asian spots (and I say that as someone who is Asian), but this place went above and beyond. There were multiple servers helping throughout, bringing food, refilling drinks, checking in, and everyone was genuinely friendly and attentive. As someone who waited tables for years, that level of service really stood out. They even brought us complimentary egg tarts since they were closing soon, which was a nice touch. You can also watch the dumpling makers through a glass window, which adds to the experience and gives off slight Din Tai Fung vibes, but without the long drive. It's family-friendly, great for sharing, and just a fun, satisfying meal overall. Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to.

I wish there was a better way of seeing that list because I really had no clue and waited in line for nothing. The wait time honestly needs better attention. We probably waited around 20-25 minutes. It was very busy that day, and I'm not sure if it's because it's the weekend and/or due to Chinese New Year. Staff members are shuffling back and forth and are quite rude to be honest. I get that they are stressed running around, but still.... Anyways, we ordered the following via online (scan the QR Code on the table, that is probably better since they are too busy to take your order): - 1 shrimp siu mai (4 pieces) = $5.99 - 1 shrimp dumplings (we got 4 pieces instead of 3 per menu): $5.99 - 1 steamed BBQ pork buns (3 pieces) = $5.99 - 2 sticky rice wrapped with lotus leaf (4 total) = $13.98 - 1 yang chow fried rice = $15.99 - 1 seafood with pan fried crispy noodle = $17.99 SUBTOTAL = $65.93 TAX = $5.11 TOTAL = $71.04 ** Place $10 tip via cash ** We received our yang chow fried rice and crispy noodle timely, however it took a REALLY LONG TIME for us to receive the rest of the orders (the dim sum aka yum cha order); I had to ask the front how long the wait will be, otherwise we will cancel - the lady ended up checking and we got some of our orders. If I didn't ask, the wait time would be wayyyyy longer. Overall, we all enjoyed the food. Very authentic (Hong Kong Style). Management needs to improve and the wait time. Very small inside, this place needs to expand. There is another location in El Monte.

I saw the reviews before coming in and saw a couples dishes I was craving, so I ordered the braised pork w/eggs and green onion noodles. Restaurant was nice, quiet (since it was just a handful of stragglers and other people late for the lunch hours), clean, and typical decor of a Chinese restaurant. Wait wasn't too long, but could've been a bit faster. Though the pork was good, I think they left the sauce on the heat for way too long maybe? I know because I cooked this dish at home myself before, and I could tell that they reduced it for far far far too long and the sauce was right on the edge of burnt, and was thick/molasses like, and a bit bitter when it should have been sweet/umami. Like the sauce was dark almost black instead of more red. But! I will give it to them, it was pretty tasty especially when mixed with rice so I guess I couldn't complain too much! The noodles were good, but the pork stole the show so I can't say I recall much, but with some chili oil the green onion noodles were fantastic.

The curry beef pot stickers really stand out, packed with rich curry flavor and perfectly seasoned. Highly recommend the chicken and crab roe served over rice or noodles--the crab roe adds an extra layer of umami that makes the dish feel indulgent without being heavy. Definitely worth coming back for these dishes!

The food here never made me sick and it never tasted funny. Everything comes out pristine and beautiful. The portions are so big that a small eater like me can save this for another meal. The waiters are also attentive and willing to help out -- they hired the right people! I really like the atmosphere this place has. It's perfect for talking and it's a great place to go to after final exams. The waiters help out a lot, but they generally leave you alone unless you raise your hand. It's a great atmosphere

It was not too loud in there and the place was relatively empty so that was nice. Biggest disappointment was service, because our table ordered chow mein and the waiter brought us chow fun (flat noodles with gravy). When we told him that we ordered chow mein, he told us that what we ordered was chow fun, so I showed him what we ordered on the menu and he said "you wanted lo mein". While I get that, he spent a minute trying to figure out where the item was and couldn't find it. I reviewed pics on here and it seems like other people got the thick yellow noodles for chow mein. Anyway, they replaced it for us but I overheard the waiter tell his manager that we ordered chow fun by accident. The manager then told us something about "our mistake" upon paying, placing blame on us . The manager was nice about it, but we repeatedly told the waiter chow mein and he kept correcting us to chow fun. Also, there is a section of the menu labeled chow mein and a separate page labeled chow fun. I think I know what we ordered. Disappointing.
