I made a reservation online, and we were promptly seated on time at their comfy couch. Inside is decorated minimally but very cute. Loved the plants, interesting furniture, and bookcase of wines. The woman that seated us was friendly and the man pouring our wines was very friendly. Overall I really enjoyed Banshee. It's easy to spend 45 minutes to an hour there. I really enjoyed their red wines, but the whites were lackluster to me and the rest in our group. They had great aromas, but the taste was cold, flavorless, and lacked character, especially after the amazing nose on them. I liked that they poured us their rose and syrah even though we did the cheaper tasting menu. It was also great that the tasting fees are waived if you buy a bottle, which is super easy to do! Loved their Sonoma County Pinot and the Mordecai. I would come back to Banshee with friends from out of town in the future. read more

Just was given a 2016 Banshee Chardonnay bottle. Just plain awful. Had to spit it out.

A great place to escape the heat on the day I wandered in. The location is perfect being right in the mix of downtown. The vinyl selection they have for your audible enjoyment was a nice touch. This tasting room is great. My wife and I went in with our 2 month old (who was asleep almost the entire time) and had a great time. Great music playing the entire time. Great setup with stations for a variety of group sizes. The wines are good--mostly pinot noir but they also had a killer Chardonnay. I don't usually gravitate towards Chardonnay but it was so good. We like it so much we joined the wine club the day we went. They have several wine club options, from 6 bottles a year to 4 cases a year. Rose (not rosè) was pouring for us and she was great--very knowledgeable and informative. We look forward to going back. read more

Situation: 40 friends on a bus rolling through Healdsburg for my roomie's birthday. This was our last stop of the day, so we were a little "tipsy" already, loud, and generally probably not the easiest crowd to work with. The space was inviting and comfortable, with plenty of places to sit down, but also a bit funky between the signs on the walls and the music playing. We were definitely feeling the vibe. Service: We rolled in without a reservation, because we just thought that was a good idea, you know? The staff got us situated on the right side of the tasting room and we just expanded as necessary. They were quick to bring us all water and make sure we were hydrated first, which we appreciated. Then they got us started on the wine flights. By this time, many of us were just sharing flights with a friend, and they were really accommodating. They even comped us several of our tastings. The wines were overall better than the other wine rooms that we'd tasted that day - nothing spectacular, but definitely drinkable. read more

I'd describe my time in the Banshee tasting room as eclectic and modern. While the wines themselves are clearly forward thinking the tasting room and service is clearly "Twenty-something." Banshee produces the type of wine I prefer for drinking on the patio and sipping while preparing a meal for friends. They're enjoyable wines with very accessible price points. Maybe I shouldn't even rate this place, but I sat there for over 20 minutes, and no one acknowledged me, so I left.

We came here with a large group of 11 people. The service was great and we enjoyed the wines. They have a regular tasting, a reserve tasting, and wines by the glass. We also had one each of the small bites/apps that they offer. So Banshee Wines came highly recommended to me. My friend says: "Oh, they sit down and talk to you and serve you." "Cool" I say and make my way over there. They have an interesting and eclectic array of wines with reasonable prices. I found myself "wowed" by Mordeci, a deep red blend that is so good its almost criminal that Banshee wines only charges $25.00 a bottle! I'll take two, please! I had so looked forward to this tasting and it's probably the worst experience I've had. Booked a reservation at 1:30, stood unacknowledged for 10 minutes, finally sat down, not served our first glass until 2. They were clearly in the weeds, but somehow had time time to drink wine in the back and readjust the decorative gourds before serving guests. Wines were served without explanation as was the cheese plate ("it's aged cheddar" was the description we received when we asked, no additional information). This place is definitely instagramable, but falls short everywhere else. read more

We went tasting at Banshee for the first time today. A couple of the wines were good the rest just OK, we really enjoyed the rose and the Sonoma Coast Pinor. The place is definitely for the younger crowd, we 60 somethings felt a tad out of place in the venue. It's s nice place with a great set up for tastings. Lots of comfortable spaces to sit and sip. The music was loud and trendy. The staff was quite nice and attentive not hovering over us but aware when we were ready for our next taste. read more

I choose my tasting room by the friendliness of the staff, good vibes, location, operating hours and comfort level -also, good wines sure do help as well. Banshee has it all. It was late in the day when we walked by Banshee and decided to drop in if they are open. To my surprise, it remains open after 5pm -COOL (they remain open until 7pm). Banshee is right off the square across from Zin and with plenty of street parking. Thank goodness for that cause I hate to hunt for a parking space around the plaza. When I walked into this tasting room I feel as if I have entered a friend home in SF, for I feel very comfortable immediately. The decoration of this place can be described as modern chic -IMHO- with nice modern music that set relaxing mood for all. There is plenty of room to move around where I do not feel confined to a single chair/location. Comfortable lounge chairs/sofas are abound and my weary tush from long drive likes it. The staff here welcomed us with warm down to earth smiles, and I don't feel any snootiness from them as I do in other places -especially when I like a wine just because it is so palatable to me or my mood and not base on a point system, where/when it come from, or "Sorry Sir, you should not drink red with fish...". Sorry, I digress...Anyway, Banshee has reasonable House Flight ($10) and Reserve Flight ($20), plus some small bites (especially good for those that are a bit tipsy). One of the wines that I do enjoy tasting is the 2012 Sonoma Coast Chardonnay -especially the flavor/scent of vanilla lingers around a bit after the last drop. There are others that I like, but enough yelping from me already. Conclusion: This is a great place that stays open "late". Here you can recharge and relax in preparation for the next event of your day/night or to conclude your day activity. The space here is awesome and very SF feeling with mostly young, hipster types working here. Where things went wrong was the initial service - took 10 -15 to get our first pour with a guy walking by and looking at us. Had to ask 2x for service. Once we did, the girl that helped us was super nice. The reason for the 2 stars tho was the the wine was just not good. I was expecting soooo much more given the reviews but everything we had was super sour or just too young to be tasting (they poured a 2013 Pinot and it tasted like it). Further the house tasting is $15 but the wine they poured averages $25 bottle so it felt a bit like bad deal. With such great wine in the area this place can definitely be skipped. It's too bad because the space is really great and cozy. I will not be coming back. read more

Discovered Banshee over Labor Day weekend with a group of friends and we all really enjoyed the atmosphere there. The staff was all friendly and accommodating, and even recommended a great resto for later, Campo Fina...check it out! The only thing I wish they had more of is a better variety of snacks/bites. I am giving it a two, because the decor and employees were very nice. However, the wine was plain, boring and not very tasteful. It didn't leave me with he feeling of wanting more, I actually saw some gentlemen spit his out. Honestly the wine is just all bland, overpriced, and instanantly forgettable. Employees are very nice and the spot is cool. So if you want to find a nice spot to chill it is perfect. However the wine is on the acidic side and is at best mediocre and at worst, well kind of bad. read more

Highly recommend this fun tasting room in Healdsburg. It has a really cool low key vibe. They have a decent vinyl collection that you are welcome to pick from and play while you have your tasting or just sit back and enjoy a glass (or two!) They have a great selection of wines they source from grapes across the region giving their wines a varied taste. The last time we were there we picked up a bottle of 2012 Broken Leg Syrah. Depending on what you expect during a tasting experience will dictate what type of experience you have. I had never heard of Banshee so we popped in. The music was blaring. The decor was barn chic. We were invited to sit down. The wines were explained to us but then the girl disappeared for a good 10 minutes. She floated around the room and then told us a bunch of the employees were in the back drinking champagne. Huh? About our first pour...Let me say I am all in favor of their combo wine tasting/wine lounge concept but I felt that the timing in between the flights was way too long and purposely treated as an afterthought after hearing her, 'drinking in the back' comment. Seems like a younger, hipper place for wine tasting. $10 tasting for a large number of wines. Service was good and friendly, decor is industrial hipster, central to the square. I recommend coming here to end the night as its indoors. That way you can go outdoors in the sunshine during the day but end up back at the square. You can do reservations but we didn't have one and it wasn't too hard to grab stools at the bar. read more

Your money is not cool enough for Banshee. Tried walking here from a lunch recommendation. Hip looking spot. Walked in, three staff managed to completely avoid eye contact the entire time. After standing at the cash register for awhile, declared loud enough "I bet if I stand here long enough someone will help us." surprise, help arrived. Only to tell us that the middle table had suddenly become booked and they were full (they weren't). Told to come back later, i.e. Around 8, or 5 hours from then (we didn't). We arrived in Healdsburg not knowing it was barrel weekend (a kind of for the masses tasting event) so we were nervous about overcrowded experiences. The Banshee tasting room was a delight. Comfy space, completely relaxed pace. Enthusiastic and engaging staff made the $20/$30 tastings fun. A charming invitation to pick out an album (yes album) when there was a lull was a hit (ha!). Wines were so-so but experience was a 10+. Only other glitch was that their food (simple bites) hadn't arrived when we started and we weren't asked about ordering when it did (as we watched plates of nibbles delivered to other tables). Complimentary rose may have been best sip. We saw solos, couples, and groups big and small enjoying the experience. read more
