This is my go-to place when I want a snack. I've been to NOLA so I know what a good French bread tastes like... their bread is acceptable. The owners are amicable- the brothers are funny and the real boss- well, ask the brothers lol. I always order the tofu and chicken banh mi. Their drinks are refreshing- couldn't go wrong. With so much to offer, Banhdicted is a staple in my shopping routine. The veggie bahn mi with tofu is my weakness. Bahn mi, which translates to bread, is a French baguette coated with soy sauce and stuffed with pickled veggies, cucumbers, and jalapeños. It's a simple concept but their bread and just the right amount of sauce is what differentiates Banhdicted from others. One critique I have is that I wish the tofu was pressed. Sometimes it can be too dense with water for my personal preference. Note, they do no offer boba as a milk tea topping. P.S. I definitely recommend their online ordering platform. My favorite bahn mi sandwich in Tucson! It is so flavorful with fresh veggies, unctuous liver pâté and pork belly, and crusty (but not hard) French bread. Great little sandwich shop near Lee Lee's Asian market. It features bahn mi sandwiches and a variety of milk and boba teas as well as juices and smoothies. My favorite is the AZ special, a classic bahn mi sandwich (Banh Mi Dac Biet) on crusty French bread with pâté, steamed pork belly, Vietnamese ham, fresh cilantro, pickled carrots and cucumber, jalapeño, and mayo. The bread is locally sourced from a bakery and is perfect - crusty on the outside but fluffy on the inside. I love that it's crusty but not hard, and easy to bite through. The veggies are fresh and the pickled carrots and cucumbers have a nice acidity that balances the rich liver pâté and pork. The first 2 times I visited, I thought the proportion of meat to veggies and bread was a little skimpy, so I started ordering it with extra pork. But the last couple of times I ordered I forgot to do so, and the sandwich was great so I no longer order the extra meat. Maybe they adjusted or maybe I had a new employee those first visits. The Thai iced tea is sweet and creamy and delicious. My only knock is the sizing of the drinks. At the cash register you can see 3 sizes of cups, but the teas only come in two sizes (medium and large). I don't understand what the largest size cup is for, maybe smoothies?? Anyway, when I typically order a medium, thinking I'll be getting the middle sized cup but I get the smallest size. This is needlessly confusing. I wish they would just call the smallest size a small. Obviously that's mostly on me since I'm ordering without looking at the menu, but the tea is so good I always wish I had the larger size. My husband loves the BBQ pork sandwich (Thit Nuong). It has the same condiments and veggies but the delicious bbq pork replaces the ham and steamed pork belly. The atmosphere is cheery with friendly service and bright colors. It is fast casual with ordering at the counter. It does take a little time because they make the sandwiches to order and heat them, so it takes about 10 minutes if there's no wait. So I usually phone in my order on my way. I highly recommend this place! The prices are reasonable ($6-7 for a sandwich) and the food is so good!! read more

I love this place. I've been tons of times, everything is good. The AZ special & the chicken are my favorite, although I sometimes get the tofu. Always get extra veggies! They're so crisp, sweet, and refreshing. And the bread must be specially made or made fresh, because it's amazing in its own right. They take a while to make the sandwiches but that's because 1) they don't have a lot of staff and 2) attention to detail, every sandwich is perfect. However, you can always order ahead or for pick-up, which is nice when you're on the other side of town or planning your lunch hour. This review is really only for their vegan tofu sandwich. Not sure what happened here. The last couple times have been really disappointing. Really soggy and under seasoned wet tofu. No sauce or glaze. The tofu sandwich is wet, bland, and squishy. I used to crave the sandwiches but that is no longer the case. Hope they revamp this sandwich. Won't be back until they do. read more

I had wanted to check out Banhdicted for a while, but it's about a 25-minute drive from me. I was finally in the area so I made a point to grab lunch here, and spoiler alert: I'll be coming back! First off, I was impressed with the clean space and very friendly service. The man who took my order was kind and helpful. As we were waiting for our sandwiches, I noticed the Thai green tea on the menu, so I asked him about it. He explained the difference between the more common Thai tea and the green version. I was intrigued by the floral notes and condensed milk, so I decided to order one. He even added grass jelly on the house because he said that's how he normally makes it for himself (so nice!). I wouldn't have thought to add this to my drink, so I'm very thankful I got to try it out. And let me tell you, I was so pleasantly surprised by the light flavor of the jelly and creamy floral notes of the tea. I will definitely order this again next time! Our sandwiches were ready quickly. My boyfriend got the Breakfast Banh Mi, and the first thing he said after taking a bite was "I would eat one of these for breakfast everyday!" I got the BBQ Pork Banh Mi, and I was very impressed by the flavor of the meat, the fresh crunchy veggies, and the amazing baguette. I was in the area to shop at Tucson's biggest Asian food store for banh mi ingredients and just so happened to see Banhdicted next door. Everyone was super nice and the store was adorable inside; they've got some storage overflow in the main building but every taqueria and Asian food place in town does right now (coronavirus pandemic year 3!). Since I'm making a classic sandwich I decided to order their lemongrass beef sandwich; great decision. The baguette was fresh and crackled in my hands, the pickled vegetables were crisp and flavorful, and the beef was absolutely delicious! The flavors blended well together and the warm tender beef went perfectly with the pate. I plan on coming in the future to try more, and can't wait to check out some of the specials. My only wish is that they had fresh basil because basil on a banh mi is what sets it off for me. The BBQ pork had the pâté In there, but I don't recall tasting any of it - either way, I don't think I was missing out on too much. I stan any new Asian restaurant! I visited banhdicted within the first week of opening, and they were so busy already! It made my heart full that they were getting so much love in the middle of a pandemic. I ordered a lemongrass chicken and a bbq pork banh mi. The flavors were both pretty decent. Both were on the salty side, and it seemed a little soggy to me. I gave them the benefit of the doubt though, as they were super busy and I didn't eat the sandwich right away. I went again a few months later to see if they could redeem themselves, and I'm so glad they did! I ordered the bbq pork again and it was seasoned just right and the bread was not too soggy. I will definitely be back to get my banh mi craving fixes in the future. Even though it is out of the way, I would highly suggest checking this place out if you're on the northwest side of town! With the punny title and my coworkers and friends recommendation, it was difficult not to eat here. I'll be honest in saying that as Vietnamese person, I actually grew up hating banh mi...but this place is definitely an exception! I arrived at around noon on a Thursday and the place wasn't too busy so I got to order right away. The food took around 5-10 minutes to come out. Food/Drink: I ordered the AZ special (without jalapeños since my spice tolerance is nonexistent) and a Green Thai Tea with grass jelly. The sandwich itself was pretty good. The baguette bread appeared to be toasted but wasn't too hard, dry, nor crumbly. What stood out to me was the addition of pork belly since the fat melted nicely on my tongue and just added to the nice savory flavor overall. I loved the green thai tea, which tasted like a matcha mixed with thai tea (not sure if thats what it actually is). Theres a powdery texture to it but not to where it ruined the drink for me. Would recommend grass jelly as a topping for something nice to chew on. You're able to ask for lowered sweetness which is always a nice option to have! Order came out to be around $12 which is pretty fair given the portion size. Overall would definitely recommend this place to people looking to get their fix of banh mi and/or are looking for a good lunch option! Was disappointed they didn't have boba as an add-on, which is my usual go-to, but opted for strawberry heart jellies instead. $3.75 for their smaller size and then add-ons are an additional price. Got the prickly pear which had a subtle flavor and not overly sweet. Would probably do without the jellies next time. They're quite sugary and there were too many of them, which resulted in me getting less drank. I'm hoping to return to try the sandwiches and probably another flavor of milk-tea. Staff was friendly. The restaurant took over an old Juice Envy location. I heard about this place from a co-worker and I wasn't disappointed. This is some of the best banh mi I've eaten in recent memory and banh mi is one of the first sandwiches I remember eating as a child. The baguette is crispy and soft. The filling is made of numerous different ingredients and the whole is greater than the sum of it's parts. They don't add soy sauce which is different than I've normally seen around the US and with my family. They also sell boba, but I didn't try it. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to order any drinks, but I did sample the lemongrass beef and the AZ Special banh mi. Although both were tasty, the lemongrass beef was nicely seasoned and was packed generously with meat. The bread was well toasted: crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. I was ultimately impressed with the food but not with the interior. Sadly, none of the tables were clean enough to eat at because there were crumbs everywhere. Today My wife and I decided to tried this place for lunch after hearing about it through my wife's friend. After looking at the many reviews and pictures of other postings, I have high expectations for the place. The owners were there and kindly greeted us and took our orders. Being opened for a few months now I was impressed to see the flow of customers coming through to order. They were in and out within 10 mins with no wait time longer than 15 mins. I ordered the bbq pork banh mi and a Thai tea for my drink. I was told by the owner that these are the popular that everyone usually gets. Upon unwrapping the banh mi to start eating I thought the portion size was pretty standard, I was full by the time I was done eating. Although, I wished they would ask if I wanted my banh mi to be cut in half or not if I'm going to be eating in but ripping it apart is fine. The bbq pork banh mi itself was really enjoyable! Everything was made hot and fresh with just the right amount of veggies. Also the Thai tea was great! It was made fresh daily and not pre-made. It was packed with flavor that compliments the banh mi. The bread/roll/baguette is really wonderful, crispy crust and soft inside. The veggies were plentiful, and very fresh and "snappy" when I bit into it. The BBQ was absolutely great!
