Absolutely delicious! My favorite Thai place in Williamsburg for sure. Staff are super friendly as well. I crave this place all the time.

Ate here the other day again and loved that the lunch menu included a little salad (good dressing) and a spring roll. My Thai basil chicken had a lot of flavor but was very oily. My friend enjoyed her Thai basil chicken fried rice. Service was very good. Inside there is beautiful wood paneling and a good amount of tables.

Came and got a chicken and rice dish, pad thai, pad siew, and another noodle dish like pad siew, and mango sticky rice. They definitely give you a great amount of food for the amount you're paying. Good thai food! Not the best I've had but good place for cheap eats and to have leftovers the next day.

My neighbors and I went to Bangkok Garden for lunch on a Wednesday. This was my first visit to the restaurant, and I was happy we chose it. The interior is warm, inviting, and clean with light wood tables for small and larger groups. Lunch started with a a cute plate of salad with ginger sauce and a spring roll. It was a really nice way to start the meal. We ordered the Kao Pad with stir-fried rice and chicken, and I added vegetables. It was delicious. It was lightly seasoned, which was perfect for me. Other dishes we ordered included shrimp or beef with steamed rice and broccoli. The lunch portion was large, and we all had extra to take home. Service was kind, helpful, and efficient, and they have a free parking lot. We will visit Bangkok Garden again.

This gem is located on Richmond Ave where pretty much a number of shops and eateries are located. There is ample parking and it was easy enough to find. I came twice to pick up takeout and the hosts were absolutely helpful. I would recommend calling ahead to save the waiting period although it wasn't too much of a wait. Maybe 10-15 minutes at best. The place is beautifully decorated and appeared really clean. Exactly what I would like to be in when dining in. I wish I could have had spare time for that experience. The food they cook here is absolutely delicious. I ordered Tod Katiam with shrimp, Panang Curry with Chicken and Pad See-Iw Tofu. Sorry no pictures, it was absolutely delicious though!

    Great place for family dinner.

Excellent Thai food. My companion and I ordered the chicken coconut soup. You can order a full order or just buy the bowl which is convenient when you only have two people in your party. We are staying at the close by Westgate resort, and they give 10% off to hotel patrons. We ordered a number of dishes - three in total. They had a special on the Pad Thai which was red curry. That was absolutely divine. Also ordered beef laab. I've never eaten Thai food on the East Coast, but this was rated as one of the top venues in Williamsburg. You can ask for any level of spiciness you like. It was really, really good and they did an extra special topping which I have not seen before. This was to sprinkle it was toasted sesame seeds. I also have the pad prick king, with pork. This is one of my favorites with a spicy red sauce, green beans and sliced pork. Just delicious and perfectly done. Highly recommended. My companion also enjoyed the Sapporo beer.

Important Details GOOD - Nearly everything, fresh, exotic dishes, good service, and lovely atmosphere in and out BAD - not much, a little pricey, but supported by quality I typically find one or two things that a restaurant can work on, it was hard with Bangkok Garden. My experience was excellent. From the beautiful flowers before you walk in, to the decor and finally, flavorful dishes, I highly recommend this Thai gem. I had the chicken spring rolls, chicken coconut soup, and a combination meat, yellow curry dish. All were fabulous and flavorful. Prices were a little high, especially for lunch, but worth the treat. I got two more meals from the leftovers. Defintely try it.

Bangkok spring rolls 6 for $8.95. Sauce is sweet & sour (not the typical brown peanut sauce)

Be aware prices have increased and portions are smaller. Food is still good though. Service is ok. Still gets crowded. We went during lunch.

The atmosphere: It's a small restaurant best suited for small groups, though there are a few tables that can accommodate larger parties. You order at the cashier and they bring the food to your table. There's also a self-serve drink station, and they provide free water cups that you can refill. The food: We started with the takoyaki and chicken karaage. The takoyaki was good, but fairly standard. The chicken karaage portion was generous, and the pieces were large. The coating was lighter than what I'm used to, which kept the chicken juicy, but it did make it a bit oily. I also wished there was more seasoning in the chicken or batter since I ended up relying on the spicy mayo sauce quite a bit. For my entree, I ordered the pork katsu with rice and tonkotsu sauce. It was fine, but nothing particularly memorable. I also would've preferred a slaw instead of just a few pieces of lettuce. Portions overall were big, and the dishes are definitely shareable. The service: Service was touch-and-go, very much a fast-casual setup.

They only appeared to touch the frying pan for barely a minute. They had a steamed, flimsy texture, and I was going for that nice crust, which separates a pan-fried dumpling from a steamed dumpling. My server was very good but the kitchen was very slow tonight, it took almost another twenty-five minutes to get the entree out after the appetizer, and the restaurant was only moderately busy at best. The table next to me also had to wait for every course. Overall, I enjoyed my meal. Even the dumplings that were under fried had good flavor. *Please be aware, which came as a shock to me, that the restaurants on that particular street are subject to a 12%to 13% percent sales tax, which was really off putting. I would still go back to Peter Chang's but probably another location because of the tax and the slow kitchen.

We have not not dined, or even spent much time at CW since the pandemic. After a hike behind Bassett Hall my wife and I enjoyed lunch. We arrived at noon and were promptly seated in an empty room. Around 20 minutes later the first floor was full. The atmosphere was cool and authentic. Nothing has changed since my previous visit. Our friendly waitress got menus and waters. I started off with an Apple Jack Old Fashioned utilizing Virginia Gentleman bourbon. We reviewed items on the menu that may have been served in the period. We started with apps. I got a salad, or "To Make a Fine Sallet". My wife crab croquettes. They pushed out first and we enjoyed. For mains. I got the pork shank, or "To Stew a Shoat in the French Way". My wife had "Chicken Hash", it was like a thick soup. The plating was beautiful and the taste matched. The old fashioned was disappointing because it was so weak. Service was decent, but not much attention. For dessert I got the bread pudding and wife chocolate tart. Both were outstanding! The bill was dropped on the table. It was around $150 w/ tip. Although pricey we had fun and felt like tourist just an hour from home. I would recommend.

There tends to be a line to get in if you don't have a reservation, but we were seated soon after we got in line around 1:45pm. Their menu is sourced from recipes from the colonial era and the staff are all dressed in the latest colonial fashion. I ordered the fish sandwich which I thought was too salty (perhaps this is period accurate) but my family really liked it. I liked the chips it was served with! I also tried the peanut soup which tasted like drinking peanut butter and I'm not sure if that's for me, but my brother loved it. I had a bit of the beef hash which was pretty tasty! I also had the chocolate tart which was very chocolatey. For a drink we had the non alcoholic orange ginger peach bowl, which served our family of 5 just fine for $16. There was entertainment during our meal, a woman came around and sang a colonial song before taking out a recorder and playing a dancing song. This was fun! Our waitress rubbed us the wrong way. She repeated our order several times to us because she was not writing it down. I was not confident we would get the right food. When we tried to add other things she made us wait since she was busy committing everything to memory. She seemed annoyed when we put in other orders for food, but she did bring us an extra peanut soup "in case" we wanted another one, since we had put in an order for a soup after we initially ordered. She did not really seem keen on serving us. The service was slow, too. At the end of the meal, she put something of ours on another table's check, then took our check back to add what she missed. There was also a bowl of soup on our check that we did not order and the card was charged twice, plus another $18 charge. Not sure what ye olde POS system they're using back there...

First them meal: Outstanding. The wifey and I both ordered small pizzas. Mine was the All Meat and the wifey ordered the Arugula and Prosciutto. Let me say again both were outstanding and tasted amazing. When talking about my old meat pizza out of the four or five meats on mine with standard it out above the others was the sausage. Had an absolutely wonderful flavor. But surprisingly it didn't overpower when it was combined with the other meats. As for the wife, this is the second time she's had this combination type Pizza. The first time was in an authentic Italian restaurant, but was in Mexico. Yeah, that's kind of crazy pizza in Mexico but at that location down there it was incredible enough to make my wife want it again and this is the first time we have found a location that served a similar pizza. The arugula was fresh, not welted and really popped with flavor. Now both the wife and I had to really agree that the crust for both pizzas was not that heavy dough type. It had a little fluff to it, making it not weighing in your belly after you eat it. Staff: our server was outstanding as well. Very intentive checked on us several times and we even had some conversation back-and-forth. I believe we may have talked also to the owner who was sitting out front. If nothing else he was the manager again another very friendly man that we enjoyed our conversation with. As for the location: we found it very clean. And well kept. If you look at my other past reviews at locations via visited the one thing we really base cleanliness on is sometimes the restrooms. Well, in a shared ladies/men room, it was also very clean and well kept. So I will say again, outstanding location, outstanding staff, and wonderful food. If you're in the area absolutely I would recommend this for your lunchtime meal. We absolutely look forward to going back at a later time and trying some of the other dishes they offer.
