    Tofu Teriyaki Bowl
    David O.

First time ordering from here and was very pleasantly surprised. Download the app and ordered online - a very easy process allowing for order customization. I arrived earlier than expected, which caused a minor issue as the counter person was not aware he had to send the order to the cooks, which left me sitting for an extra fifteen minutes. Training issue, which shouldn't happen again. I was very pleased with the amount of spice in my bowl...didn't have to add extra hot sauces (which I often do). Wife enjoyed the tofu - too healthy for me! Convenient location, clean interior, reasonably priced.

    Spicy Chicken Teriyaki Bowl

Ever since Teriyaki Madness opened, it's become our go-to stir fry/Asian food takeaway place. I usually get the spicy teriyaki chicken with fried rice and veggies while my husband gets the same, only non-spicy. The chicken smells and tastes like it was cooked on a grill or over a fire. The spicy chicken has a little bit of spice and I would be interested to see if there is a spicier option. The rice is usually very good too, where you get the individual grains. During our last visit, we must have gotten a bad batch of rice because it was mush, but we don't think that's the norm. Usually, when we order online, the food is ready in about 15 minutes. It's impressive they are this well-oiled so soon after opening (about a month ago). The inside looks clean and is small, so if you're going to order here, get it to go.

Orange Chicken Bowl wife couldn't eat

Waited 35 min for the worst chicken and rice dishes. It stinks because I was so looking forward to this. Got home my order was wrong I was suppose to not have vegetables just white rice. . This has to be the worst cuts of chicken ever fat in every bite. My wife couldn't even eat her orange chicken. Don't waist you time and money here

    Crab rangoon and egg roll

When my husdband and I ordered, we were not expecting to pay $50 for our meals, but, once we got our food, it was worth every penny. We got medium bowl combos...mine was the Steak Teriyaki (spicy) with yakisoba noodles and veggies (pictured) and his was Chicken Teriyaki with veggies and fried rice (I forgot to take a pic if his). With the combo came a side (we chose egg rolls) and a drink. Plus we ordered a 4 piece crab rangoon. They have small, medium, and large bowls. Our medium bowls had enough food for us to get two meals out of them. The food was fresh, hot, and delicious! We will be returning!

Tasted like basic Panda Express. Overly salty and poor quality chicken. I ordered the teriyaki chicken bowl with fried rice.

The atmosphere: It's a small restaurant best suited for small groups, though there are a few tables that can accommodate larger parties. You order at the cashier and they bring the food to your table. There's also a self-serve drink station, and they provide free water cups that you can refill. The food: We started with the takoyaki and chicken karaage. The takoyaki was good, but fairly standard. The chicken karaage portion was generous, and the pieces were large. The coating was lighter than what I'm used to, which kept the chicken juicy, but it did make it a bit oily. I also wished there was more seasoning in the chicken or batter since I ended up relying on the spicy mayo sauce quite a bit. For my entree, I ordered the pork katsu with rice and tonkotsu sauce. It was fine, but nothing particularly memorable. I also would've preferred a slaw instead of just a few pieces of lettuce. Portions overall were big, and the dishes are definitely shareable. The service: Service was touch-and-go, very much a fast-casual setup.

It was awe inspiring to think Jefferson and Washington ate and drank here after House of Burgess meetings. We made a reservation on Open Table for an early dinner since we were traveling the next day. (No lunch reservations taken). They are set up in various rooms throughout the house and the servers and staff are dressed in colonial garb. They speak and serve in old school Fashion which is delightful. They even had a gentleman walking around playing music from the time period. I enjoyed a Rummer refreshing cocktail while hubby had an Apple Jack old Fashioned. The drinks average $15. They also have a fine assortment of wines. They brought a bread basket with super fresh bread and mini corn muffins. They also brought whipped butter, a Virginia ham spread and corn relish. All excellent! We saw peanut soup in several places and ordered it here. It was very different. Very peanutty and super filling. I ordered the crab croquettes which were flaky and delicious. The sauce had just a bit of zing and completed the flavor profile perfectly. Our server Lynette was such a sweet lady. I adored her and she even tied the giant napkins for us to prevent spills and mess. (It was super hot though and we took them off eventually) For dinner, hubby got the beef steak. It had a seasoned butter was cooked medium rare, exactly as hubby asked for. The mashed potatoes were creamy and delish. Also came with perfectly cooked stemmed carrots and string beans. It was a little pricey at $58, but you are also paying for the experience and atmosphere. I was a bit full from the bread, muffins and croquettes, but dug into my onion pye. It was served in a deep tin, covered in a flakey crust and topped with an over light egg, fun onions and scallions. It also came fresh veggies. So yummy!

There tends to be a line to get in if you don't have a reservation, but we were seated soon after we got in line around 1:45pm. Their menu is sourced from recipes from the colonial era and the staff are all dressed in the latest colonial fashion. I ordered the fish sandwich which I thought was too salty (perhaps this is period accurate) but my family really liked it. I liked the chips it was served with! I also tried the peanut soup which tasted like drinking peanut butter and I'm not sure if that's for me, but my brother loved it. I had a bit of the beef hash which was pretty tasty! I also had the chocolate tart which was very chocolatey. For a drink we had the non alcoholic orange ginger peach bowl, which served our family of 5 just fine for $16. There was entertainment during our meal, a woman came around and sang a colonial song before taking out a recorder and playing a dancing song. This was fun! Our waitress rubbed us the wrong way. She repeated our order several times to us because she was not writing it down. I was not confident we would get the right food. When we tried to add other things she made us wait since she was busy committing everything to memory. She seemed annoyed when we put in other orders for food, but she did bring us an extra peanut soup "in case" we wanted another one, since we had put in an order for a soup after we initially ordered. She did not really seem keen on serving us. The service was slow, too. At the end of the meal, she put something of ours on another table's check, then took our check back to add what she missed. There was also a bowl of soup on our check that we did not order and the card was charged twice, plus another $18 charge. Not sure what ye olde POS system they're using back there...

Let me say again both were outstanding and tasted amazing. When talking about my old meat pizza out of the four or five meats on mine with standard it out above the others was the sausage. Had an absolutely wonderful flavor. But surprisingly it didn't overpower when it was combined with the other meats. As for the wife, this is the second time she's had this combination type Pizza. The first time was in an authentic Italian restaurant, but was in Mexico. Yeah, that's kind of crazy pizza in Mexico but at that location down there it was incredible enough to make my wife want it again and this is the first time we have found a location that served a similar pizza. The arugula was fresh, not welted and really popped with flavor. Now both the wife and I had to really agree that the crust for both pizzas was not that heavy dough type. It had a little fluff to it, making it not weighing in your belly after you eat it. Staff: our server was outstanding as well. Very intentive checked on us several times and we even had some conversation back-and-forth. I believe we may have talked also to the owner who was sitting out front. If nothing else he was the manager again another very friendly man that we enjoyed our conversation with. As for the location: we found it very clean. And well kept. If you look at my other past reviews at locations via visited the one thing we really base cleanliness on is sometimes the restrooms. Well, in a shared ladies/men room, it was also very clean and well kept. So I will say again, outstanding location, outstanding staff, and wonderful food.
