First time doing take out here for lunch and it was a bad experience! They are short staffed and only had 1 person doing everything! :( I had to wait an extra 15 minutes after my food was supposed to be ready. Nobody even helped me for a long time. Nobody was up front!

Tempura ice cream

We had a great dinner here. We got the shumai as an appetizer and it was lite and delicious. We got 5 rolls: Kani roll, devils roll with jalapeño and sriracha, Spicy carb roll, shrimp tempura roll, and a spicy tuna toll. They were all fresh and super tasty. But nothing compared to the tempura ice cream. It was vanilla ice cream rolled in tempura batter and fried. It was a special but if you see it get it. Only issue was we got soda that tasted funny but they replaced it no issues. Good/fast service, great location, and delicious food.

Visiting Williamsburg from NC, and we love Japanese food so we decided to eat here tonight. The host greeted us with a sweet n cheery attitude and sat us right away. The waitress took our order with promptness. She was fantastic. The food was delicious! Service was fast and friendly.

What a delicious meal. Had so many things. All delicious. Had suggested squid salad. That was super good. It's not fast, but worth it.

Lunch bento box with teriyaki beef

First off: it has taken no less than five attempts to order takeout from Sushiya. No matter the time of day, the phone generally rings endlessly. Finally, I managed to speak to a human. She was very impatient on the phone, though she apologized profusely in person when I picked up my order. She was very kind and pleasant, in person, though it was one of the most rude phone conversations that I've ever had. The order was ... accurate? I think? It's hard to say. But I ended up paying about eight dollars more than I anticipated. I also ended up with more food than I anticipated, half of which wasn't to my liking, so I guess it was all a wash? The food was all a little disappointing. The teriyaki chicken and teriyaki beef were just just grilled with a a little, tiny bit of sauce drizzled over them. All of the vegetables were overcooked. The food wasn't bad. It might have gotten three stars, as it is better than reheating frozen meals. But it was so difficult to actually order, that they lose points for that.

The service was awesome, and the food SO GOOD. If you have a sushi craving like I did.... You'll be so happy you came here!

I loved this hidden gem. I yelped for a sushi place and found this cause of the great reviews. This is the kind of place that I love to find. It's nothing fancy at all but they have some amazing sushi and really creative plates. I loved the spicy Kani salad. Huge chunks of cucumber and perfect mix of ingredients. My oyster shooters with quail egg were very unique and I had never tried that before. My sashimi lunch combo was also very good. My friends chicken teriyaki was excellent and only $10.00. She also had a clear soup with noodles with was delicious. I would come back here if I lived here a lot.

Sushiya: Leftovers, boxed to go.

Disclaimer: I am not well versed in Japanese cuisine. But after my meal yesterday, I hope to change that. I had a bit of time to kill before the start of the concert at Williamsburg Community Chapel; plus I was hungry. I got some staples at Harris Teeter, then walked over to Sushiya. It was a little after five, and the dinner crowd had yet to arrive. I was seated at a 4-top and given water and a menu. The Steak & Scallop, $26.95, sounded yummy, so I asked what cut was the steak? New York Strip, but you can upgrade it to Filet Mignon. I ordered the New York Strip option, and started to order other things, but my server said that Soup, Salad, and Veggies are included. Cool. Bring it on! A minute later my Clear Soup came out, a savory broth with a few veggies. Quite good; I'll do that again. Next came my Salad. Lettuce, Tomato, Cukes, julienned Carrots and Bermuda Onion. Topped with House Sesame dressing. Super! Then then the entree, a dinner plate of seared Scallops, seared Steak, a scoop of Fried Rice, and a scoop of a vegetable medley comprising Broccoli and other items. And a scoop of noodles, Miso, I believe. It was all good, though I don't and didn't eat Broccoli. I ate until sated, then requested a box and dessert menu. There is no dessert menu, but my server recited several dishes, notably Tempura Ice Cream. I ordered that and boxed my leftovers. The dessert was presented quickly. While tasty, it was indistinguishable from "Fried Ice Cream" I've had in Mexican cantinas. Time to go. I requested the check and prepared myself for sticker shock. Pleasantly surprised when the check said $36.38. I left with a smile on my face. Sushiya will be a repeat. I interacted with 2 servers, both very pleasant. The store was clean, and parking was ample.

The best sushi and tempura restuarant around Williamsburg. Food is fresh and served very quick. The Hama Hama oysters shooters with Saki are delicious. Staff are friendly and attentive, dinning area is slightly upscale but family friendly, and you can watch the chefs prepare the food. Recommend the teriyaki salmon with Ichiban beer. Bento boxes come with lots of choices. Highly recommend for a wonderful Japanese experience, lunch or dinner.

Great food and service. You get plenty of food. I normally have to take food home because I can't eat it all.

Rude employees & gnats! And no seating at the sushi bar, "they're using the area for take out", wow, what a waste of space.

Thai Tara Sushi & Bar - Kingsmill roll is the best sushi on the menu

Thai Tara Sushi & Bar

Thai Tara is our hands-down favorite restaurant. Not only in Williamsburg, where we recently moved,…read morebut nationwide. And that isn't mere hyperbole. Before we moved to Williamsburg, we visited the area for vacations, and Thai Tara is alway the first place we go for dinner and the final meal before leaving. Whether you crave the freshest Sushi/Sashimi or you prefer authentic Thai street food, you will find it here. We have traveled to Bangkok many times, and from first hand experience can say without exaggerating that the Chicken Sate or Fresh Rolls are as authentic as you might find at the street markets in BKK. The Tom Kha and Tom Yum soups are a treat. The extensive selection of warm Thai dishes like Pad Thai and Penang Curry are outstanding. We often include a hand roll or a selection of Sashimi from the Sushi bar in our orders. Never has the sushi bar prepared anything less than perfect. And if you want a real treat, finish your meal with a Mango Sticky Rice. Although small in size, it's surely is a dessert of the gods. An extensive bar is also on hand at Thai Tara for your favorite hand mixed cocktail, umbrella drink or beer, including Thailand's own Singha, a refreshing lager. Plan to arrive early because this cozy (but not small) place gets very busy, especially on weekends. Parking can be tight. But even in the busiest evenings, service is always prompt, attentive, and with a Thai smile.

The menu options are endless I was very surprised of how much items they had for appetizers alone they have some many variety to choose from which was very unique. I try their tiger cry steak appetizers well presented and steak was made with perfection where it was perfectly thin sliced and full of flavor and was well balanced not to heavy at all good options to try and since we got there during lunch hours, they had a special where you could get two classic rolls with miso and a salad for $11 or three classic rolls with miso and salad for $16. I did the two and added on a yummy roll was also very well prepared. Had a load of flavors and combination of fish where it wasn't overpowering each other and it wasn't too heavy even though it contains cream cheese and it's fried sushi so for my people that like fried sushi only I would recommend this option and if course they had many other options and I plan on making another trip to try more of there sushi and more food options next time I'm in the area again. Are server was very nice and very attentive to us from the moment we got our drinks where he gave us recommendations of blackberry cocktail perfect combination i would say it's a must try if you like more of a fruit forward cocktail.

Sushi and boba in the same place, yes please!!! Was greeted so cheerfully when I walked in and the lady ( I will get her name next time) who took my order was just so kind, hospitable and helpful when going over the menu...In the end, I opted for the salmon roll and Matcha boba.. Now for the real real!!! Now when it comes to Boba, I generally stick to my regular flavors; Taro, Thai, Jasmine or Oolong so I didn't have any expectations for the Matcha.. but let me tell you, that was the best Matcha Boba tea I've ever had!!! size wise, and it was the perfect amount of sweetness.. already off to a great start. Now, when the salmon roll came, I was surprised at how big those pieces were. It was the most amazing salmon roll.. after the first bite. I was thinking about how I wish I would've gotten another sushi, but it was just the perfect amount for my appetite and it made for such a great light meal. This place is a 10 out of 10 for me!!! Note* I forgot to take a picture of the Matcha Boba, but just know it was so well made!

Food: The tropical roll was great! I loved the flavor combination and the coconut sauce! Yum! The chicken wrap was the food item I didn't enjoy and the main reason was that they used mined chicken. I feel like at least cubes of chicken or strips would be preferred. Also the chicken has no flavor. Grill it up or something! The other ingredients were nice and fresh but the chicken was very off putting. Ordering online was easy and I loved how they had the option of them delivering it to your car. It was ready when promised and everything came as promised.
