I got a to go order from here as I was headed into work. I ordered the chicken and shrimp hibachi. There was a ton of chicken, but only two, maybe three shrimp. The food was ok, but definitely not the best I've ever had. In fairness by the time I got to eat my food it had cooled off some, but still didn't have the flavor I've gotten from other hibachi restaurants. The restaurant seemed to be outdated, but I only went into the front by the door and register. The service was good and staff were friendly. My meal cost $17.76 without a drink or tip. Huge portion for the meals!! The hibachi chicken came with 2 scoops of fried rice, tons of chicken, and vegetables underneath ($11). Everything tasted delicious, but I wish there were onions with the vegetables. It also came with a side of yum yum sauce. I also ordered the miso soup ($2.50) and it was another large portion! Definitely worth the price for quantity and flavor. The tofu in the soup was soft and silky, delicious! The house salad ($2.50) was just chopped up iceberg lettuce and a side of ginger dressing. We stopped in for lunch while in the area since there were so many high ratings. 4 or five small tables primarily occupied by staff (as witnesses by order pads, calculators, etc. back area stuffed with boxes and other paraphernalia. Cook visible through window working away with face mask at half-staff (why bother?). Food is prepared to order for the most part, and is served quickly. Beef is thin and slightly chewy, drenched in sauce over some zucchini strips. Fried rice was meh...not too much flavor, just rice (no egg or veggies). Sushi rice okay - needed a bit rice vinegar added. Salad dressing quite tasty, and avocado generous. For quick takeout it's okay. Not fine dining for sure, but for what it is, it's decent. Probably wouldn't recommend coming here for dining, but to grab a quick bite to bring home, maybe. read more

What a great place to pick up some lunch and go. Their lunch prices are extremely affordable (and their hibachi is tasty which helps too). No dine in option, pick up only. We ordered shrimp and steak hibachi, salmon and avocado roll, eel roll and tuna and avocado roll. This all came up to about $25 and change which is half the price I would have paid elsewhere, so I appreciate this place keeping my pockets lined with some cash. The salmon didn't taste the best on this occasion, but the rest of the rolls were just fine. The hibachi came with three pieces of shrimp, but was more generous with the steak serving. I'm a big fan of lunchtime, sushi menus, I was a little disappointed that the menu is the same all the time. I should've also read closer, they offer only rolls, but no Nigiri. With that said, the meals were really well done, I would give them 4 to 4 1/2 stars. My daughter got the beef Yaki soba, which was amazingly good. I'd recommend going with the noodle dishes or the hibachi. Unfortunately, I can't recommend the sushi rolls, they didn't taste very good and the soy sauce was extremely salty. even the spicy mayo wasn't tasty. It was very nice to see that it was a family running the restaurant, and the daughter at the front was extremely helpful and gave great service. Food is alright - the chicken in the yakisoba noodles and hibachi is pretty much the same, they just don't add any vegetables in yakisoba. To be honest, yakisoba was a little soggy, hibachi was better with some bedding of veggies. Ordered 3 meals: beef hibachi, chicken hibachi and chicken yakisoba. Came with 3 small cups of yum-yum sauce. Total cost was almost 52$ without tips. Don't let this little store front fool you! I was vacationing near the area and wanted some dinner. I yelped for local eateries and this was recommended. I read other reviews and decided to take a short drive here, and I'm glad I did. Upon arriving, I noticed they closed the entrance to the store and had a small side window to take orders and ring up charges....all due to COVID of course. All is well. I placed the family orders and paid. I waited for about 15 minutes in my car and noticed how packed this place gets. Many people ordered for pickup. Soon, a line formed quick. I must say I'm impressed that my family orders where done in 15 minutes and the chef didn't miss a beat. Everything came out delicious and fresh. Sushi was great. We were looking for affordable Japanese food that we could enjoy but this place is more of a take out place as multiple orders were filled as we sat in the third booth in, passing the first booth taken by the hostess' things, the second booth had a dirty appearance with a used water bottle, so the third booth it was. I ordered the veggie roll and a salad hoping to cleanse my body of the sins from yesterday's meals while hubby ordered the lunch special beef hibachi. My salad was lettuce with avocado and two containers of tasty dressing. The veggie roll was guess what! Avocado in rice. Good thing I love avocado but if you don't then you're not going to be happy. No other veggies in the salad. Hubby said his rice tasted like it was seasoned with soy sauce, just meh. The beef was sliced so thin yet overall not satisfying. It's okay for a quick take away and for folks unfamiliar with hibachi. A hole in the wall. A bit run down and needs cleaning. The place was empty. They overcharged us by $5 even after I added a tip on the receipt. They don't give an itemized receipt so they just add whatever they want. Dishonest so make sure you add up the charges yourself! Food was just ok but the rice was dry and tasteless. The Godzilla Roll was burning hot since they deep fry it so the shredded tuna is cooked (not the typical Japanese style Godzilla Roll sushi) $9. The CA rolls are super tiny $5. The hibachi shrimp had zucchini and broccoli underneath $10.50. The hibachi beef had a very thin layer of thinly sliced beef on top of vegetables $10.50. We won't be going back. Don't pass up this place, even though the location in a strip mall makes it easy to drive by without noticing. A local recommended this place and even though I was skeptical when we drove up, it did not disappoint! I would love to have photos of the food, but we had none because we started eating as soon as it came! It was the best hibachi food we've eaten, ever. Their specialty yum yum sauce is delicious. A little hole in the wall in a strip mall, but the best hibachi and sushi! We order takeout almost every week. The owners are so sweet. The yum yum sauce is made in-house. Be sure to order extra because it's that good! Hibachi steak and shrimp is my favorite. The shrimp is always fresh and never soggy or "off." My kids love the hibachi chicken and the appetizers are fabulous. My husband is a fan of their shrimp tempura. Excellent food and highly recommend! read more

They close at 9:30 and my family and I walked in at 9:25. The staff were sweeping the floors and trying to head home for the night. I'm giving 4 stars because they turned the grills back on and made our orders immediately. Another couple entered the place after us and they were served too but the staff was minutes from being in their own homes before we walked in. Food was good. I had the chicken hibachi and some sushi. Plenty of food for a very reasonable price. I recently took some sushi classes and was amazed how fast she was able to make my sushi order. What takes me 7-10 minutes took her 30 seconds. They had all reason to turn us away. I appreciate hard working people who go the extra mile to satisfy their customers. Placed a take out order at 8:45pm. Easy to place the order over the phone and glad they were willing to take our order so close to their closing time. We got the steak and shrimp and a chicken steak and shrimp. Tasted bland and flavor was nothing compared to getting cooked in front of you at a true Japanese steakhouse. Portions for $11 was a bit skimp. Two scoops of rice tossed with soy hardly counts as fried rice, my steak and shrimp had maybe 1 oz of steak and 4 medium sized shrimp. The zucchini/onion mixture was sitting in oily juices. The ginger sauce was heavy on the soy and the white sauce tasted like the Mexican ranch sauce you get in Hampton Roads but heavy on the mayo...just a weird flavor. The presentation of the box wasn't stunning and we were too hungry from an afternoon at Great Wolf Lodge to take a picture. read more

I swung by here on my lunch break today because the lady at the nail salon next door recommended it to me a few weeks ago. The lunch specials were very inexpensive and I ended up getting the hibachi chicken which came with vegetables and fried rice. My food was done very quickly and came with tons of chicken on it. I could have easily ate half now and the rest for dinner but my mind was like "eat the whole thing nowww" and I almost tapped out. While Looking forward to the Chinese food place my grubbing buddies said we were going to for lunch, I so happened to overlook the actual name of the restaurant. "Tokyo Express," which was not a fast food Chinese places I so often go to for fried rice, lo mien and egg rolls; no, this Japanese fast food place had what tasted like fresh veggies. My zucchini, onions, and carrots were freshly chopped and stir fired, and the shrimp were larger than the usual size you find in your Chinese fried rice boxes. We got several sushi rolls too. We have Yelp to thank for helping us find this cool little place. We were staying about ten minutes away and in the mood for Hibachi, and Yelp steered us this way. It is a small little strip mall joint with a wide variety of hibachi and sushi dishes. I was able to feed a family of three with drinks for under $30, so that was a good deal. I had the New York Strip hibachi, which was plentiful and tasty. The strip was Choice quality, but nothing to complain about for $9. The side of soup and salad were only about a buck each. Our only complaint was that the place had a horrible grease trap/sewage smell going to it. This could have been from a neighboring restaurant, and you don't smell it as much after about 15 minutes. Visiting from philly looking to get some sushi and stumbled upon this place on yelp. Got a shrimp tempura and spicy crab roll. They were pretty good! Shrimp tempura rolls had 2 shrimps in each roll so they were pretty large and harder to eat but I enjoyed every bite. I would have uploaded a picture but I ate them already. Spicy mayo was on all of the rolls. 9/10 recommend! read more
