I spent 40 dollars on just myself.. i got pad thai that costed 20 dollars, 5 baby crab rangoon's for 10 and rice on the side with taxes was 40 damn dollars. Love coming in and being greeted by the owner. She's always so nice and pleasant. She's quick with service and if there's a slight delay she communicates it! Food is pretty good. Like mini restaurants this is not an inexpensive place to go to so be prepared for a bigger bill. The food they do have an excellent crab raccoon. Was worth getting and the veggie tempuras are good. After that everything went downhill we ordered the pineapple duck. It was way overdone very dry though they did give us a sauce with it to kind of cover it up. Ambience is just OK. Hands down the best Thai food I've had. And that's saying a lot, because I'm from Northern Virginia where we have some great Thai spots (including Sister Thai, which I love)--but this place was actually even better. Every dish was absolutely delicious and full of flavor. You can tell a lot of care goes into the food. The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming, which made the experience even better, and the service was excellent from start to finish. We had attentive service and great food aT the Emerald. I started with the Tom Yum Soup, and it was the perfect balance of spicy, sour, and savory--truly vibrant and flavorful. For the main courses, we shared a few curries. Both were phenomenal, each with its own delicious, nuanced flavor profile. The curries were rich, creamy, and wonderfully spiced. The cocktails weren't the best - too sweet but the food made up for it. What really stood out, though, were the fresh vegetables. They were perfectly crisp-tender and clearly of high quality, which made the curries feel incredibly fresh and light. It's so refreshing to get veggies that taste like they were just harvested! From the amazing soup to the stellar curries and the attention to ingredient quality, this is my new go-to Thai spot. Came in for the lunch special menu with my better half and got the chicken pad Thai and he got the shrimp pad Thai. The total came to just over $25 which was very pocket friendly, considering this is Williamsburg and usually it's at least $25pp, not for two meals. For starters we each had a small side salad. The homemade peanut and ginger sauce was delicious. The portion size of the lunch main course was very generous, I ended up taking some of it home! Service was okay. I felt a little rushed during our meal, I understand we came towards the end of the lunch so they may have wanted to clear the restaurant out to get ready for dinner - but mind you, we were left waiting up front for quite a while to be seated upon entry, and there were only 2 other people in the restaurant. My first stop in while visiting the area. We made reservations due to the tourists coming into the area, we arrived and waited a good five minutes for anyone to come out from the kitchen. A young boy who was playing in one of the booths we finally asked if he could go get someone. And we sat The food was VERY good, delightfully tasteful and heated through perfectly. My only complaint would be that with 3 waitresses and not many people dining at the time we were, and we had practically no service at the table. The red curry was delicious!! The food was hot and fresh. Just right spicy. The restaurant will allow you to pick the level of spicy.

This place is truly fantastic in every aspect. The food is legit, the service is very personal and the ambience tops it all. The acoustic allows you to have a great dinner or lunch without the noisy caos. I always get the Papaya salad to start, which is truly healthy and fantastic, because it is freshly made. You can't go wrong with any of the items on the menu. My favorite is Crispy Basil Duck. Somehow, when I eat at this place I feel very satisfied without the guilt. The other local places are a little too pretentious for our liking, plus we like to stay out of the heavily touristed areas. So this is our go-to, reliable Thai place. Great food if neither you nor anyone in your party has dietary restrictions/food allergies. My husband enjoyed his meal, but I have to give one star because of my own experience: an allergic reaction despite making sure my order didn't contain any peanuts. I thought at first they might use MSG (which often gives a slight tingle that I can eat through if the food is good, which it was). Then, my throat started closing up. Luckily, after I stopped eating and drank water, my throat opened back up. It was too late to prevent what followed: inability to breathe through my nose for the rest of the night even with allergy pills. It's a shame that what would have been a nice date night had to end this way all because a waitress couldn't check to make sure a customer's allergy was left out of the order. read more

We went here on a Sunday at 5:30pm before a drive back home after a weekend visit to Williamsburg. It was yummy and well priced! The portions were HUGE. We had more pad thai and fried rice for dinner AND lunch the next day. I would say it was just a tad oily (which is common for this type of cuisine, it seems) - next time I'd order with a request for less oil. Keep in mind that our party had about 10-11 people. The bathrooms were very well kept for a public bathroom and the food was very, very good! We decided to give Emerald Thai in Williamsburg a try. Love Thai food in general. The waitress was almost non existent, I asked for a beer she brought me a wine and mixed drink menu. I finally got up and looked at the bar area. Finally pointing out my beer. Next once our party of six was ready to order and food starting arriving, very staggered three of us were already eating before the rest came minutes later and three of those was the same thing. My daughter ordered sush, she had to return it as it was so fishy on one and cold and nasty on the other. Now I'll say that my dish was very good! So we get our bill separated into a check of two and the other of four. They automatically added the top to both checks so we didn't add more. Our credit card co. contacted us asking if wanted to leave an additional 20% which had been added by them. They tried to steal more money! Unacceptable. Had the service been worth it, maybe we wouldn't have stopped the additional gratuity they added after we left. Anyway enough of the rant. Food was ok for some not so much for there. It was dim so I didn't see them until it was too late. I'm just lucky I didn't actually bite into one, only got a residual reaction. The food is excellent, the decor is simple an pleasant. Service was good, and the place was nice and quiet, so conversation was easy.

This is a quaint little Thai spot with a cute mint colored interior and very resonable lunch specials. Our server had a good personality and was very accommodating. The menu was very extensive and took some time for me to look through, but I eventually decided on getting the won ton soup and the spicy chicken druken noodles. The food was pretty decent. I wasn't really a fan of the ground chicken, I would've preferred grilled chunks, but I can't really hold my preference against the resturant. Overall, I would come here again, because this place does provide a cheaper alternative to eating anywhere inside of Busch Garden's. Next time I will try a different meat. read more

After a long, hot day at Busch Gardens Williamsburg we were ready to get out of the wall-to-wall crowds and wind down. We definitely chose the right place! Just walking into Emerald Thai Cuisine we felt the serenity of the space enveloping and soothing our frazzled nerves. The first thing you notice at Emerald Thai is the atmosphere. Greeted by two enormous salt water fish tanks and a smiling hostess at the hostess stand, we were seated immediately, directly behind the fish tanks per the shouted request of my youngest "I want to see the fishes!" The restaurant is decorated in every shade of green, from a light mint color on the walls to a sparkling jade green in the table tops. The chairs are unusual, very modern with tall backs and surprisingly very comfortable. The waitress brought ice cold glasses of water immediately and then withdrew to let us examine the menu which is extensive. As soon as we put the minus down she was back, answered all of our questions about the dishes thoroughly, and assured us that spice levels could be adjusted to fit any preferences. We proceeded to order Siam Beef, Yellow Curry with Chicken and kids Spring Rolls. The food came out quickly, piping hot and every dish featuring a nice personalized touch, from a pretty carrot "flower" on the children's plate to a heart-shaped mound of fresh steamed rice accompanying my curry. As nice as it looked, it all tasted even better! We ended up sharing bites of each dish around the table, so I know first-hand that the spring rolls were perfectly crisped, the Siam beef had the most amazing rich gingery sauce and the yellow curry was spicy but not too hot, exactly as ordered. The waitress was attentive but never intrusive, doing everything possible to help us enjoy our meal without hovering. She provided us little individual plates for our samples without needing to be asked. Kept the ice cold water topped up. Cleared the emptied plates immediately. Even had the bill ready and waiting as soon as I asked for it. Definitely a 5-Star meal in every respect! Given the quantity and quality o the food, it was a great value for money too! It's just around the corner from Busch Gardens near the Doubletree Hotel and the Kingsmill Resort. If you are looking for great food at a great price in this part of Williamsburg, I highly recommend you try Emerald Thai Cuisine. read more
