My mom and I go to the Kaka'ako Farmer's Market on Saturdays JUST to get this pasta. Their sauce is okay in my opinion, but the pasta itself is amazing. It truly tastes so fresh and handmade. We always get the Chef's Pick (today it was 4 cheeses + bacon!) and the 2 for $15 fresh pasta noodles to take home. When we cook it at home it tastes just as good!! Got to try the bolognese pasta ($19) at the Taste of Aloha at Kakaako. The pasta was perfectly al dente. The bolognese was well seasoned and with the perfect amount of meat in it. The dish was top with cheese. The quantity was worth $19. Very yummy, can't wait to try to try the other pastas. Didn't like the tiramisu ($11). The coco powder was too much. The cake or lady fingers (?) in it tasted like it was soaked in water. It was watery. read more

Can you say fresh... I got the pleasure to enjoy Bambino's fresh pasta as they were one of many vendors at the Festa Italiana in Kaka'ako as there were many various others somehow the fresh pasta I just couldn't pass up. With menu choices from cheese, bolognese, pesto to chef's pick and even tiramisu was quite the variety I didn't expect to see and from the long line...the longest out of everyone so you know it was one that I had to try. Not just the pasta is freshly made but the items as well as we lined up to order and was given a number nothing was premade all made to order was very fresh indeed and worth the wait as the portion I feel was fair though for me personally needed a bit more sauce as that's just my vibe. The staff there worked very well coincide with each other and though there was a bit of wait understandably for me is just the anticipation of consumption which went quite well and fast lol! We tried this place for the first time and it was very interesting. It's not a restaurant. They're actually operating out of the back of a chocolate shop. There's no parking so the only options are delivery or curbside pickup. However this is not traditional curbside pick up. We called when we arrived on Queen Street and were we told to come in and get our food. That's not what we were expecting. We tried the Chefs special and carbonara pasta. They both tasted okay, but honestly we never could tell which was which. They both tasted exactly the same. We liked the free tiramisu if you order $40 or more. Over the weekend I ordered takeout from Bambino's using their curbside pickup option. You order online and call when you are outside on Queen Street. Someone will quickly bring your food right outside to your car. Very convenient! For the food I had the Creamy Alla Vodka pasta with added chicken. The pasta was flavorful and satisfying, though without the chicken, it might have been a bit pasta-its-prime. A side of garlic bread or breadsticks would have really buttered me up and taken the meal to the next level. I also ordered the Prosciutto & Brie Panini with added sun-dried tomatoes. It had a nice balance of flavors, though it could have used a little extra dressing or sauce to really take it to the next level. Overall, Bambino's served up a good experience, and I'll definitely be back to explore more of their Italian offerings. read more

Bambino's is one of the best fresh pasta and sauce you can buy at farmers market in Honolulu, Hawaii. The staff here is super friendly and they usually sell out of their pasta and the sauce. Is it good? It is what it is. Fresh pasta and fresh sauce. Its not like crazy amazing but its just a good pasta to make at home. Better than some restaurants if you are just comparing the texture and the feel of the pasta noodles. But again, its nothing special but just a good fresh pasta and decent sauce from the farmers market. I will definitely buy some more of the pasta and sauce from the Bambino's. read more

They share space with a bunch of other stores located right across the street from Aloha Beer. I highly suggest ordering ahead, I used Clover when I did. I think the door is usually locked, there is a ring door bell to the left of the door so the chef will come out and get you your food or take your order. When he opened the door, it smelled so good and fresh in there. ordered the chef special which had multiple cheeses and bacon. It was good, you can tell the pasta was hand made. The other dish we got was a pesto, that too was really good and flavorful. Got the tiramisu, it was just okay. The lady fingers were a little hard and parts of it were slightly watery. read more

what a fun find! i've always wanted to try bambinos and i finally made it over! the only downside is that they're only open from 3pm so they're best for dinner options if you're hungry. You simply order your items online through their website and note your pickup time and your car details for curbside pickup. Once there, you pull over to the front of their door and they'll bring it out to you (after you give them a call to let them know of course). I DM'd them prior to ask them which items they recommended, and they suggested the chefs pick, bolognese, and the vodka pasta. all of the pasta dishes were about $19 each as long as you don't add extra's to it. I thought overall it was very good! the bolognese pasta was a little mushy tho - but it had really good flavors for all the pastas. I also liked that it was light in taste so it didn't get tiring to eat. read more

Beauty and grace, get this pasta in my face. A friendly and quick pick up spot located in the Lonohana Chocolate tasting shop. Ordered three pasta dishes to share between three of us and there was plenty to go around and some leftovers! Ordered the Bolognese, Creamy alla Vodka, and Pasta with Meatballs - all delicious!! The pasta itself was made and cooked perfectly and the flavors were exactly what you'd hope they'd be for these classic pasta dishes. Overall it's a quick and easy and yummy pasta spot! Service is quick and it's in a nice, walkable area right across from aloha beer company. Got the four cheese pasta with chicken, bolognese, and a mini tiramisu. The chicken was pretty dry and I wish there was more sauce in the four cheese pasta, but the flavor was good and the pasta was cooked perfectly. The bolognese was flavored amazingly but the pasta stuck together quite a bit, which may just be because they're take out only. Pasta is my absolute weakness -- I genuinely feel like I could eat it everyday if my wallet allowed it. While driving around Kakaako, I noticed a giant sign that said "BAMBINOS" and I'm like ??? So I googled it and it turned out to be a takeout pasta place! I bookmarked it and finally got a chance to try it out. Simple system: You order online, choose a pick-up or delivery time, and pau. When you pick-up, you call the number from your email confirmation and they'll come out with your order. The portions are a decent size; it's a good medium of satisfaction. I tried the Carbonara and the Creamy alla Vodka. The Carbonara was definitely on the lighter side that there wasn't as much flavor that I was used to but I wondered, "Is this what authentic Carbonara should be like?" so I didn't want to discriminate against it. I did enjoy it but I think I would go for the Creamy alla Vodka next time! It was also light but I'm a sucker for pink sauce. Toppings are additional but to save some money, you can easily cook up your own protein and veggies which is what we did; it made for a lot fuller meal read more

Brand new location. It's take out only. They share the space with a chocolate factory which despite living and working within a couple block, I had no idea was there. The owner, an Italian from Venice, was kind enough to show us the inside where the chocolate is made, and also his kitchen area. He just got in a brand new pasta machine. I asked when he will start using it and he said "maybe tomorrow". So this review is based off the dried pasta which was good, but its not the same as home made. When it comes to pasta I kind of base all reviews of La Cuccina, which is located a block away at Imperial Plaza. La Cuccina is the gold standard of pasta in Honolulu in my opinion. Its so difficult for any other restaurant to score high against it because despite having all homemade pasta, La Cuccina is actually really reasonable, with multiple dishes costing less than $20. We tried the 4-cheese and pesto sauces which cost $35 for both. The 4-cheese was really good. It was rich, creamy, and had a good taste. The pesto was good, but didn't quite have the super fresh basil/garlic taste I expected nor the vibrant green color that would indicate it was freshly made. It wasn't that much different than the Costco pesto sauce I buy. I also think it needed a bit more sauce on the actual pasta. What was missing is some kind of protein option, or a vegetable option. Some grilled chicken on the 4-cheese, and some sautéed vegetables on the pesto would have been really good. I happened to have smoked salmon and added it to the dishes. I will be excited to try again when they are doing fresh pasta. I thought it was a tad expensive using my La Cuccina comparison, and wonder how much the price would change if you were able to add protein. If the dishes are $17.50 now, you're starting to get into the low to mid $20 range perhaps. There is a similar place (not a full service restaurant) that does have fresh pasta, protein and vegetable options, and a place to sit down. That place is Mio's Pastalogy on McCully. $17.50 will get you fresh pasta, home made sauce, protein and vegetables. Its Japanese style Italian though but is pretty good. I myself will give Bambinos another try, and I really wish them the best. Because I want Italian options in this neighborhood. I know how hard it is to start a business so if the owner reads this please take this all as constructive suggestions and know I will be back to support you. read more

Delicious, rich, & nice size portion size! I got the Chef's Pick last night from the location in Kakaako and split it with my roommate (in addition to a home made salad) and it was perfect size for making a meal for 2. The cheese sauce is rich and creamy and had good flavor. Will definitely be returning to try more menu options. I will add the location is a little confusing to find at first but it's directly across the street from Aloha Beer on Queen Street in the back side of the old Kewalo Theater building with the dive shop in the front. There's also a chocolate factory and cafe in the building. So if you're seeing multiple signs, you're in the right place! :) read more

We were at the beach nearby and needed something to eat before driving about an hour back to Waikiki as we were starving. Lucky for us it was a Thursday so it was farmers market day and bambino's popped up and looked amazing. We just had the most amazing experience at Bambino's this evening. We saw the restaurant onYelp, and I didn't read it thoroughly to realize that it's takeout only. We were about to walk away from the front door when the wonderful Italian Gentleman stopped us and said we could order, and he would bring the food to us in five minutes. He was totally correct, and it was fantastic food! We had the Bolognese, and the 4 cheese pasta with bacon which was the special of the evening. You can truly tell that the pasta was fresh and handmade, and the sauces were very tasty and fresh. Also, I love al dente pasta, and it was just that. Highly recommended! I ordered for the first time here I didn't know it was only take out. I got the buy one get one free which I thought portions would be super small but I was wrong good portions the 4 cheese and bacon was really good. The other two were red sauce where good just need some more seasoning/salt but still good. The tiramisu was really good. I don't really like tiramisu but this one I could definitely eat. Portion sizes are small; if you're making a big meal for a family or group of friends you'll definitely need multiple bags. The cashier was welcoming and friendly, telling us about the business. At the back you can see them making pizza dough and pasta for the restaurant next door too.

I saw this restaurant listed on Yelp and immediately thought, Ooh, what about Italian??? :D Myself replied: Mmm, that sounds tantalizing, Jules Y.! :D After perusing the menu to make sure I wasn't gonna miss out on a thing, it only took a few seconds for me to hone in on the two items I ultimately ordered: * 16" Florentine pizza (gigante) * Gnocchi Gorgonzola with added mushrooms I added mushrooms to the gnocchi dish, which was a fantastic decision I would not want to go without on future dines of this dish. The pizza was a thin crust topped with luscious mozzarella, rough-chopped garlic, spinach, and ricotta cheese. The gnocchi contained chicken chunks, potato gnocchi, luscious cream sauce, and the mushrooms I added. The Florentine immediately caught my eye. I'm particular about not eating sausage, pepperoni, and other typical pizza meats, so this cheese-and-spinach combination was exactly what I was looking for. I expected something around a medium-sized pizza, but what arrived was this unexpectedly large pie sitting inside a huge, flat pizza box. It seemed enormous! The crust was thin with a nicely fire-charred edge, while the center was packed with luscious cheesy goodness. Random dollops of ricotta, spinach leaves, and these entirely unexpected little chunks of fresh, soft, juicy garlic created little flavor explosions throughout every bite. It made eating the pizza fun because each slice was a little different. Although I thought I was hungry enough to eat a lion, I naturally stopped after only a couple of slices. That turned out to be a bonus because I had delicious leftovers for lunches and dinners over the next couple of days. The Gnocchi Gorgonzola was a different experience altogether. Tender potato gnocchi were coated in a thick, luscious cream sauce with chunks of chicken scattered throughout. The mushrooms I added were thinly sliced and blended in perfectly with the gnocchi, chicken, and creamy sauce. My only criticism is that the dish was saltier than I would have preferred. I think using about half as much salt would have allowed the flavors of the gnocchi and sauce to shine through even more. Aside from that, every bite was pleasantly chewy, rich, creamy, and satisfying. The sauce was everywhere--and that is definitely a good thing. Yum! These two dishes complemented each other perfectly because they offered completely different flavors and textures. The rich, cheesy Florentine pizza paired wonderfully with the creamy Gnocchi Gorgonzola. If I eat here again, I'll probably order these exact same dishes. If you enjoy Italian food as much as I do, I suspect you'll enjoy Aroma Italia's menu.

Be realistic and do us all a favor and stop writing reviews based off your feelings. The food here is phenomenal for being at a Farmer's Market. The Chef is legit and his food is amazing. Fresh pasta, all fresh ingredients. That's what initially got me, is looking at his ingredients he was using. Everything was fresh and just picked. I can't remember the exact pasta dish names but it was the Pasta con Spinach and the Spicy Shrimp Pasta. I couldn't believe the portions and the attention to detail. The flavors were plentiful and deep. The spicy shrimp pasta was much better. I wish I would've tried his carbonara. The food was GREAT, but also you have to respect the process.

The fresh bread was served nice and hot with butter or vinegar and oil. I usually just use butter but decided to try the vinegar and oil. That was a really good decision on my part. It was really good. I was surprised. For those of you who have had it before know what I'm talking about. It was like a light grape jelly. The bread with the oil and vinegar was so good i got another loaf. Yum. We decided to get the clams casino for our appetizer. That was winners. It was really delicious. Fresh Manila clams in a broth of butter, white wine, bacon, fresh spinach, mushroom, onions, and tomato. That's from the menu. All I know is that all of that put together was really ono. I wish I still had some more bread to soak up the sauce. Lol She chose the shrimp and scallop scampi. I chose the shrimp and scallop alla spinach. The shrimp and scallops were served with fresh spinach, bacon and mushrooms in a garlic butter white wine sauce. It was so delicious. I know i wanna go back again. For dessert we were going to split a mud pie but unfortunately they were out. Sigh. Well three for three is pretty good. Well not pretty good. It was really great. Parking is on the Mauka side right after you pass the restaurant headed toward diamond head. (Left turn) It was pretty quiet with only two other tables occupied.

Enough for both of us, then eat 2 more times after. Had to add my own protein for the take out tho since scallops kinda small and only a few shrimps. Hubs had the veal saltimbocca. He said he didn't expect it to be breaded but otherwise was yummy. I tasted it and was good. Hubs pounded the whole thing Ma had Kinoko...I wanted that but just doesn't have enough meat for me. If I could pair that with a NY steak that would be perf! She said good...she had choke leftovers too. Niece had the chicken alfredo. She ate most of the noods and some of the rest. Could use more bread...baby ate like half that sucker. Overall pretty good...one day i'll do the kinoko...and steak.
