Actually such a bad experience. They were not kind when I came in didn't ask how I was or anything just "what can I get you" didn't even give me a sec to look at menu. On top of that I asked for a sample and he said I could only sample the pull pork or brisket not both which makes no senses so I ended up buying both and the brisket was old. Not worth $70 at all. Don't go.

Pretty good BBQ. Not the best I've had but still enjoyed the smoked meat. The ribs were the favorite overall, smoky flavor throughout and more tender than the other meats. The brisket and the turkey were a bit dry even though we got the fatty brisket. The coleslaw had a bit of spice in it and I wish I had the recipe. The potato salad had potential; I liked the dill flavoring but the vinegar was a bit overboard so overall not a win.

It was all right... maybe I was expecting more? From a seasoned competition Barbecue competitor! The meat was real good I had a pound of Brisket and a half pound of Turkey. The sauces were pretty good and complimented the meat! They were unique and not super sweet! The sides were not very good. The Mac was dry and lacked flavor. The slaw was a mess I added vinegar sauce to mine to make it palatable. The spot it cool and is reminiscent of a Bbq joint. The staff seems hospitable and helpful.

The brisket was tender, juicy, and packed with smoky flavor that melted in my mouth with every bite. The chef clearly knows their way around a smoker! It was perfectly seasoned, not overly salty or dry like some places tend to serve. Each slice was a testament to culinary expertise and passion for barbecue. Love the "crust" on it. Hit the spot!

Pulled pork BBQ, ribs, brisket, smoked sausage, and the slaw.

As you walk in, you are greeted with the pleasant aroma of smoked BBQ. It's a strong start. I split some BBQ pork, brisket, ribs and a smoked sausage with two others in addition to getting some potato salad, mac & cheese, and cole slaw sides. The BBQ pork was just sadness on a tray. While it was cooked to the point where the connective tissue broke down to yield an easy to pull apart meat, it was a tad dry, and BLAND! It could benefit from a LOT more dry rub! What a shame, because both the brisket and ribs were tender, juicy, and rich in flavor! The ribs in particular were fantastic. They had a perfect level of char on them, and were fall off the bone! The sausage was also very good. Despite it falling apart easily, it was spicy, and very flavorful! The cole slaw was quite good, but nothing that stood out from the pack. The same goes for the potato salad, even though it was slightly acidic. The mac & cheese did stand out in that it was cooked perfectly: al dente! A lot of BBQ places tend to serve mushy and overcooked mac & cheese, but not Bam Bams! However, the mac & cheese could benefit from more pepper, spices, and a sharper cheese present in the cheese mix, as it was quite bland. I'd say the food is 4 stars overall in quality (better than the majority of BBQ places I have eaten at.), but Bam Bams gets 3 stars. Why? One reason: COST! It cost each of us $40! FORTY DOLLARS! That's 4-5 days of my groceries in 2024! That's more than what fine dining can cost! While it was enough food to fill each of us up, for that price point, I expect ALL of the food to represent perfection in the art of BBQ for me to give a 5 star rating! Bam Bams is not there yet. Despite a 3 star rating, I can recommend it as a one and done provided you just order meat.

3.5 Stars. I don't have barbecue a lot, but when I do I'm pretty picky about it. I'm not a fan of communal seating, but it worked. Also wasn't too keen on the way they served the food. You don't get your own plate, but instead get a tray with a sheet underneath with everybody's food on it. The pulled pork was my favorite from the whole meal. The mac and cheese was interesting. The cheese was more like a gravy and had crushed goldfish on top which gave it a better flavor. The barbecue sauces weren't the best I've had, but made the meats taste better.

I went here for the First time EVERYTHING THAT I had was very spicy I couldn't even eat it the only thing I could eat was the brisket and Coleslaw. The service was good the ambience was run down but hey if you like spicy food this place is worth it.

Now this place may not look like much, but trust me, it's lots. Lots of all kinds of yum. If you're looking to experience an evening of award winning meat sweats, Bam! As Brother Brigham said, "this is the right place." Why? Because there is so much swine on which to dine. If you're thinking about dressing up like a Kardashian going to the Grammies, just don't. This is a yoga legging, bubba bib overall type of place. It's where society's ordinary go to eat extra ordinary smoked delights, and then wipe their saucy fingers on their thighs. Don't worry, that's why stain remover was invented. So go. Order a couple Lbs of smoked Wilber. And don't forget the pint of pork and beans, and a sloppy creamy quart of Mac's and cheese. It's all good. And before you leave, a visit to the multi gender friendly bathroom is a "be sure not to miss" event. You'll thank me after the clean fingers, but you will walk out confused. (See pic) You'll ask, was that a wall, a door, or was it a faux door that is really a wall doing double duty as a toilet paper dispenser? Who's to say? It's these little design touches along with that southern highway rest stop potty patina that shouts "lift the lid and aim, the ladies got next."

Stopped in for a quick bite and ordered the sandwich combo which comes with a side and your choice of drink. Was shocked that it came out to just under $20. I had come from out of town (San Francisco and was expecting Orem Utah to be much cheaper but not the case). Food was fine. Kind of fun to have goldfish on your Mac. Brisket Sandwich was a little dry despite drowning it in BBQ sauce. I might have just been a little jaded right off the bat by the price and the fact that I ate it all and was still pretty hungry. Service and ambiance were fine. Would likely go somewhere else before coming back.

My husband and I were in Utah and he was adamant about coming back to bam bams. My brother in law used to recruit for BYU so we had it years back. I remembered it being good but nothing to write home about. This time the brisket was really good--tender and flavorful. The pulled pork was good but a bit on the dry side. I don't love having to rely on BBQ sauce to enhance the meat. The ribs were pretty good and definitely worth a try. As for the sides, they left a lot to be desired. The coleslaw was decent, but nothing special. The potato salad was probably the best of the three, though still not amazing. The mac and cheese, was trash. I mean I'd rather have Kraft than their Mac and cheese--soupy, bland, and just bad overall. If you're heading here, I'd recommend sticking to the meats, especially the brisket. The sides are pretty mediocre and could definitely use some improvement.

I came in specifically for the brisket and it was gorgeous! Nice fat juicy slices of heaven. The 2 guys behind the counter were awesome and really interactive. They helped me a lot. I love great bbq and this brisket is some of the best I've had in the nation. The crust had so much delicious flavor, beautiful thick TENDER slices of beef. If you are over in Orem you HAVE to come here. I'm definitely going back, maybe even tomorrow

Yeah this place kinda sucks. Came because we had a BOGO for a sandwich, if I payed full price for one without the coupon I'd be livid. Tiny side, not very big sandwich, had much better brisket it was very dry. read more

This is a place that depending on your palette you will either love or dislike. I would have give it a five if there was a better variety on sides. The sides are all very vinegary in taste, and there are only three choices; potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans. They were all very ehhhh (i did not hate them or love them it was just decent). Now credit where credit is due. The meat is amazing. I ordered the brisket and pulled porke. The brisket was amazing! Very reasonably priced and so flavorful. The pulled pork was perfect when mixed with the BBQ sauce or the sauce marked S (i dont know what it's called but the S must stand for superb). Atmosphere is great, the workers are great, and it is well priced for delicious BBQ. I will be going back, but only for the meat or to try a sandwich. I will never buy the sides again. Go get your pork on as soon as you can! (not a sexual reference). read more

I forgot how good the food here is! It's been almost a year since I've bammed the Bam if ya' know what I mean! The mac and cheese here is bammin'. It's my second favorite mac and cheese I've ever had. The crushed goldfish crackers on top of it is the perfect texture and taste to complement the baminess of the macaroni and cheese sauce. I've never got larger than a small, and I've always left the restaurant wishing I had bought a large. Bam! That's what the chopped beef does to your mind. It doesn't boom it, it bams it. It was hot and perfectly seasoned. Their rolls are also cheap and super soft. I like to order a half pound of meat and a few rolls to make my own sandwiches. Finally, I think a lot of Utah BBQ gets caught up in offering 5-7 flavors of BBQ sauce. Usually all of them are pretty mediocre or poor. Bam Bam's does it right with 3 sauces that are all great. All in all, they do it right here. Bam Bam's. Boom. 10/10 read more

Bam Bam's is easily the best BBQ in the state of Utah. Everything about this place reminds me of Central Texas. Buy the meat by the pound and make sure to try the brisket and pulled pork. The meat is smoked to perfection, the burnt ends amazing. The sides are nothing special to remember but your foods comes with free bread, just as it should be. All the sauces are great, but not essential because the meat is so flavorful and moist. There is a good drink selection. Try the Cheerwine. read more

WOW do they have good meat here! Finishing a delicious meal can be a very sad feeling and I was sad when I finished all my food and had none left. The meat was perfectly done and my Mac and cheese side was very tasty, I thought it was so fun that they crumbled goldfish crackers on top of it. The location itself has a fun casual feel, like you're at a family barbecue almost. There were three different options for sauce on the table so all very tasty and something for everyone. We went here during the COVID-19 crisis and they were very clean and hygienic and followed all health code procedures. We felt very comfortable that our food was clean and secure. I had the swachos with beef brisket and it was really truly amazing. They felt like a meal and filled me up, and I eat a lot! I would recommend this place to anyone who loves good BBQ. I am coming back for more to try their sandwiches with their different meats. read more

Good service. friendly staff. i ordered a full rack of ribs and it came to about 45 dollars. very pricey but i decided to see if it was worth my time. the dry rub and tenderness was good to start off but i feel that these ribs were cooked early this morning or yesterday as that freshness didn't last. Potato salad was more mustard and pickle than potato which is whack but if you dig that then go for it. BBQ sauces taste like they bought it at smiths like 3 years ago. Excellent drink selection. get fresh meat and mac and cheese and you should be fine read more

The atmosphere was fun and fitting. Don't have much to say about the service. But I went on a lunch date and the ribs were super chewy and fatty, wasn't a whole lot of flavor other than pepper on the ribs. Was also hoping with the Mac and cheese it was going to be more cheesy. Came here for the first time today. Tried the turkey sandwich & Mac & cheese. The turkey was nice but a bit boring to have only a turkey and bread sandwich. There are pickles & onions for you to add yourself but that's still not enough for me. The Mac and cheese was great but it tasted like there was crushed cheese its on top. Kinda strange. It's almost identical to Dickey's BBQ, except this place is actually edible. Referred here by a friend who spoke highly of it. I wouldn't mind coming back. read more

This is the best BBQ in all of Utah. The brisket is melt in your mouth and super tasty. The links are so amazing. The ribs are fall off the bone but still have bite. I'm not a chicken or pulled pork guy but I'm sure it's great. Just as good as anything I've had in Texas (Franklin) or North Carolina (Midwood). On the level of Franklin in Austin where I stood in line at 10am for lunch. read more

We have heard good things about this place, so we tried it out. It was a little hard to find (could use more outside lighting). The brisket sandwich was very fresh and soft but fatty I liked the coleslaw and BBQ beans. We didn't order the potato salad because an employee told us it has a lot of dill pickle relish which we don't like. They had a big selection of fountain drinks, meats and chips. My husband had the ribs. Maybe they could offer more sides--cheesy potatoes or pasta salad--and desserts to finish off the meal with something sweet. read more

Husband and I are Texans and grew up eating BBQ. This is the best we've found in Utah Valley so far. I wouldn't say it puts other places like 5-Star to shame because they're still pretty good, but this seemed like the winner overall. The brisket in particular was way above anything else we've found locally. I really enjoyed the pulled pork sandwich (homemade bun!!) and husband said the potato salad tasted just like the kind his grandma would make back home. Doesn't get any higher of a compliment than that. Three or four kinds of sauce, very quick service, and clean setting. My only complaint is that I wish they had more side options and dessert. I think there are only about three. But hey. Quality meat makes up for it and I guess I was too full to eat much else after the sandwich anyway. Prices will run you $9-15 a person, depending on what you get. read more

Finding Texas BBQ outside of Texas is rare. If you're ever in Utah Provo /Orem area make sure to try Bam Bam's . The brisket was juicy and had a nice bark. The ribs just fell off the bone so tender. The potato salad was definitely Texas style. My Texas belly was very happy. Oh, I forgot to mention they have Big Red soda my favorite!!!!! read more

Best bbq I've had in a long time. For sure the best I've had in Utah. I recommend getting the brisket. It was a mighty tasty brisket. I got what they called a swacho, it's a huge plate of nachos that is loaded with your choice of meat. It's a huge portion so unless your a big eater it might be a good idea to just share your order with someone, maybe like a date? The restaurant had a great vibe. The service was great and the food was super quick. They have rustic wooden picnic tables which was a lot of fun. The down side would be the price. A plate of swacho is about $10-12 but it's totally worth it. read more

Decent price for some BBQ!! I'll easily go again!! You get your food the same time you order so obviously the food is pre made. Making it naturally not at fresh as straight off the grill. But you couldn't tell the difference. You get 3 choices of sauces at each table: regular bbq, spicy bbq, sweet bbq Pulled pork was good, not dry but not juicy either, the sauce helped a lot. When you order Swachos (nachos) you get a huge to go plate full of chips. It's a huge portion for the price. Brisket Swachos were so delicious. The side of Mac and cheese comes with gold fish crackers on top (I know, sounds gross) but it was actually really good!!! Set up was nice, lots of room to eat, parking can be an issue but that's being picky. I would go there again for sure! read more

This is a legit BBQ joint!! Reminded me of one of my favorite places in Texas. The guys were awesome!!! They were super helpful and generous! Came with a group and we tried Brisket (Fantastic! My fav!!) Ribs (Great! Super tender!) and the Jalapeño Sausage (Really good - Spicy!) We also Tried all 3 sides - Potato Salad (Good, my fav - had a unique taste) Coleslaw (Good) and the Beans (Ok - not my fav). I liked that they had 3 sauces (KC sweet, Texas heat & Carolina spicy vinegar) I'm a fan of the heat and spicy! I also liked that they had a Pepsi Machine for really cool flavored soda options. Great place, I'll come back! read more

We had a to go order. Inside the sack we found the containers that had bbq sauce in them were all stuck together from dried crusty bbq sauce that had spilled and wasn't cleaned up, grease was all over the inside of the bags, food from what I'm assuming the workers hands on the outside of the containers was smeared everywhere. Leading me to believe the cleanliness of this place is subpar. We were missing the chips for the nachos, all of the sandwiches were wet from grease, the pulled pork was mush it was so overcooked and it was just drenched in grease. One of the worst places I've ever ate at. The prices are outrageous for what you get. Would never return! read more

I don't make it down to Orem very often but Bam Bams is on my list of places to hit when I do make it down there. The highlight of the place is obviously the meats. The brisket is super tender and full of flavor. The pulled pork is solid. I say don't waste your time with the sides cause I find them to be mediocre, especially the potato salad. Tried the "swachos" or BBQ nachos with brisket today and was pleased with the combination of flavors. Tad pricey but I left happy. I love that you can smell the smoked meats before you even enter the door. These guys do BBQ right. read more

Id can't give this place 5 stars because there's better places in the world but for Utah this is the best. Bam Bam had definitely been to Texas and done his homework! No sauce needed brisket, tender, juicy great flavor! His other Q is great also, sausage had be his own grind and ribs spectacular! read more

Big fan of Bam Bam's. Yes you have to spend some cash to get filled up, but the amount of labor it takes to produce such incredible food cannot be overstated. My wife and I don't eat here super often but when we do we always walk away happy. Order Brisket and Ribs! For a little context on the price, for the 2 of us we ordered 33 dollars worth of food, we also left a tip, because while the restaurant service is not stellar, I'd like to believe the folks that work so hard to prepare the food get a cut of that money. read more

I'll preface this by saying I'm not a huge fan of barbecue, but this place was pretty good. The pulled pork was great, and the brisket was good. I really liked the jalapeño & cheddar sausage. The Mac and cheese was also good, though pricey for the small portion. I don't know that I'd come here over any other barbecue place, but I also won't be opposed to coming back. read more

Great BBQ. Declious. The flavor and quality are indeed top-notch. They have good bbq sauce as well. I highly recommend this place if you want tastey bbq in Utah. I have 2 problems with it though and why the 4 stars. Brisket is the staple of any BBQ joint. If someone tells you different they are idiots. Atleast in Texas, brisket is your bread and butter. Some people will say pork if youre from further north but no...brisket. Like I said, it is delicious. But VERY fatty. I don't like how they feel comfortable literally giving a huge piece of fat to you and making you pay for it. Yes, real BBQ brisket will have some fat, but not like how I have gotten here. Huge nasty slabs of unedible fat. The ribs are all mostly all bone. I hate that you pay for more bones and fat at Bam Bams then you do for meat. Not to mention that they are NAZIS with the scale. You will not a single fraction over what you pay for. Problem #2 is price. Any place that has you paying $20 or more a pound for brisket and fat would be considered over priced in my book. $20 is what you pay for a trimmed brikset. I mean it used to be affordable here. It has gotten substantially more expensive as time has gone on. If they sold more trimmed pieces of meat I'd say the $20 is well worth it. Most BBQ places sell a pound between $18-$22. Bam is simply matching competition. But ive been to a massive amount of BBQ places and BamBams by far serves the worst meat to fat ratio. So basically you're paying a premium for bones, fat and some meat. But is it wonderfully delicious bones and fat? Oh yes it is. Yes it is indeed. read more

The brisket is a bit expensive, but worth the price. My boyfriend and I will buy the brisket only and make our own sandwiches. Real nice guys and amazing deli! Love the decor of the place too. Personally it would be a nice casual place for a date. read more

Came from Austin TX for work and visit family. They told me about a place that served "TX" BBQ, I had to give it a try. Was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. The sausage was phenomenal. The Jalapeno Cheddar was great , so was the regular. The skin was perfect with great flavor. One of the best I have ever had. The brisket was really good as well. Flavorful and juicy , even the lean. While not the best I have had, like I said I live in TX. It was very good and well prepared. Everything about this place is real BBQ and great service. Do yourself a favor and check it out. read more

I'd like to say that the entire menu is amazing but ive been here about 30 times and only had the Swachos with Brisket. I drive from Herriman to get these at least once a month. 45 min each way*. read more

Service was ass. Brisket was pretty good. Swatchos are recommended. If you're in the service industry, you may want to treat others as a human being. I don't ask to be waited on hand and food, but a little politeness in full sentences would go a long way. Don't ask for recommendations, don't ask for modifications. Because they /will/ say no. Rudely. Just go there, order your food a la George Constanza and the soup nazi, and sit down and enjoy it. read more

Such great meats and sides too! Normally you have to sacrifice the sides for great meat or vice versa but not here! They consistently have great meat and sides. My wife and I love going here for a quick lunch with friends and would definitely recommend it for any time of day. The brisket and smoked turkey sandwich are awesome and when you add that BBQ sauce, pure genius. The swachos were great and definitely filling (I eat a lot and I struggled to finish them). Some of the best brisket I have ever had. Pulled pork was terrific too. The owner has been a competition bbqer for years and knows how to do Texas BBQ well. The place isn't large or fancy, but nails the Texas BBQ joint on the head. read more

The ribs were smothered in their raspberry bbq sauce which is just not good. Shame because the ribs were tender and cooked well. 2. The brisket. Who taught this person carving tonight how to cut brisket??!?! As someone who lived in central Texas for almost 6 years, the way this meat was cut was offensive. We got a a pound of brisket and they were cut into GIANT chunks almost an inch thick. Brisket is supposed to be SLICED and it's not supposed to be covered in sauce either. Thankfully the classic sauce is actually good but it ruins the bark!! The bark lost its peppery bite being covered in sauce. The point of brisket is it doesn't need sauce if it's done right. The chunks were so thick it made it chewy. Maybe if sliced thinner it would've been better. 3. The potato salad tasted like it was made with dole whip cream it was terribly sweet. The Mac and cheese had no flavor to it at all, and the beans were alright. 4. The sausage was flavorful and juicy. We finished that. I feel so bad for the people of Utah that think this is good bbq. It is not. I don't expect Texas bbq outside of Texas but this was just sad and not worth the $80 we spent. And what's worse is we are still hungry because the ribs were inedible and the brisket was so chewy. And, please please please go over meat carving with whoever was cutting the brisket this evening (4/7).

For a small place the atmosphere and service was awesome! I had the pulled pork as the brisket and ribs were sold out (opening day)! The meat was fantastic and what a special touch to have the owner cut your meat to order right in front of you! Super casual, Texas style fare without all the fancy sides from a can! I also got to try the smoked turkey which I had no interest in at first...WOW! It was divine! I will definitely order it again next time! I love that you can also order meat of your choice by the pound and not even have to mess with sides or a huge, bready bun! Cause lets face it, a true BBQ fan is there for the good stuff! I'm from Texas and I love BBQ! This place is very good. The ribs are the best ribs I have had since leaving my home state. The brisket and the mac and cheese is to die for. If you like spicy sausage they have it. This place makes me feel like I am home. The pulled pork is okay and skip on the turkey. I give it 5 stars for the ribs, brisket, and mac. AWESOME!!! The staff was so energetic and fun. The BBQ is seriously the BEST I've had in Utah. They cut and size the meat to the proportion I want so I can have lots of extras s to take home or just enough so i don't get over stuffed. And they smoke all the meat fresh every day!
