Had a quick layover so I decided to go in for a bowl of pho. Very efficient system where you sot and order and pay through a tablet placed at each seat. I was pleasantly surprised that the pho was as good if not better than most I've had. That's saying a lot since I'm Vietnamese and live in Hawaii where pho is good and plenty. The broth had good flavor and a nice balance of sweet and savory and the dish had very good quality pieces of beef and pork. The service was excellent. My beer came within a couple of minutes of ordering and the pho came out shortly thereafter. FYI, an 18% gratuity is automatically added to your check. read more

No service! This iPad piece is crap! No one to talk with! That's already bad. I had the fried rice brisket bowl. It was tasty but probably had enough salt for 3 days worth. Very, very salty....I drank a chai with it. It was OK but again too much seasoning. I just expected more or at least on to good. read more

It was okay for airport food but the service there is pretty crappy. Not once was I asked if I needed anything more or if everything was okay. I understand the use of automated dining machines but there are still people working in the restaurant and not once did anyone say hello or better yet, anything, to me. I get it if this was a fast food joint but it wasn't. Oh well... The machines are taking over the world and this is how it feels I guess. read more

Ok. I know. Airport food. Overpriced and pretty boring. First of all let me say the service is not good. No menus, no wait staff, just order with the QR code. That's ridiculous. Asked one of the food delivery boys for a glass of water and was totally ignored. Ordered a beer and some buffalo chicken egg rolls. The lady that drought my beer also asked if I wanted water and brought me some. The egg rolls were hot and fresh but only 3 to an order (kinda small). They tasted good but were very mild. read more

Loved the food!! Unique tasty combination omg asian flair and southern Cajun cooking. Service just average. They make you order off an iPad so service is bare minimum. Not sure where the world is going with this self help design but tip me attitude .....but it doesn't work for me!! Had gumbo and crawfish fried rice. If you're a crew member they have a $8 special. Tried this on a layover for work. First off, a comment on what to expect with type of food: They claim to be a Vietnamese and Cajun fusion which I had trouble imagining, but the actual food they serve is just an americanized Asian fusion of Chinese, Japanese, and Korean for the most part with a Vietnamese styled decor. With that in mind the food was ok, not great. We had sushi, Bulgogi fries, and the miso soup. The soup was better than expected, but the rest was bland. Service was pretty quick and friendly, but also not very busy. Of course with this being airport food, it was also quite pricy. read more

The service was horrible the waitress Alma did not help me at all was focusing on other people and not serving me my food.

Probably the worst ramen I've ever had ... the pork came out cold and stale and the broth was hardly luke warm. Spent $50 which included a Bloody Mary (which was okay). Worst part is, is that it was empty. Seemed like they prepared the food hours ago and just microwaved it for 30 seconds. read more

Wierd reviews? You cannot order egg rolls before 11:00, so not sure how anyone did this? I had a nice Angry orchard cider for about $10, then ordered tasty spring rolls for a ridiculous $8, then ordered another cider. Typically $30 bucks covers my per day food requirements, and airport prices don't shock me. Ambiance was ok at the bar. Helpful bartender walked me through the ordering process using iPad. What a HOT MESS this place is!! I'm not sure if the man was new or not, but he was definitely not trained. I ordered one Edamame and a Prosecco and he closed my bill with a 18% gratuity attached. I said, please leave it open, I may order something else. He told me that's not how they order there. Okayyyyy ... He then came back to me and said "I can leave your check open". Great, that sounds good and I ordered another Prosecco. When I went to check-out he said my bill was $111.10. I told him "not a chance"!! He then said "oh, our mistake .. someone else got your bill but this is the one that needs to be paid". I'm like, are you freaking kidding me with this? He then pulled out the credit/debit card machine and told me that he would text me a order number that I need to put into the machine to refund the $111.10 and that I could put in the correct amount. How can I put in the correct amount if you don't tell me what it is? Long story shorter and 15 minutes later, I'm rushing to catch my flight with no refund because he couldn't figure out how to use the machine. My card was then charged four more times for the amounts of $47.63, $23.82, $33.55, and $4.86 causing my bank to freeze my account on a Friday afternoon with no access to the bank until Monday. The food was "fair at best" airport food and over priced but I travel enough for work to understand that. However, the service was about as poor as I've every encountered. NEVER AGAIN!! read more

The location isn't bad, in the northern half of Terminal C at IAH. The seating is a bit too hip in style but the plain tables and curving bar actually do work. Service wasn't bad either, but wasn't great. The main killer? They used to be a Vietnamese-cajun place at some point, but today the closest they get to that is a Japanese tempura-battered broccoli. Those shrimp po' boys and bowls of noodle soup previously on the menu are nowhere to be found, and in place is a very, very generic American restaurant. Even the attempts at not being too generic, such as the Nashville hot chicken sandwich, are indifferent at best, mediocre at worse-- there was no "hot" at all and it barely tasted like chicken, which is quite an accomplishment. read more

Bam Bam is another OTG restaurant in IAH Terminal C. That means seating yourself and order and pay by I-Pad. I came here for a pre-flight dinner with my colleague. The food was quite good for an airport! The menu is New Orleans and Asian. This combination is not strange at all, since historically there is a large Vietnamese American community in New Orleans. The crawfish étouffée I ordered was excellent! I enjoyed the bold, smoky flavors and generous amounts of crawfish meat. I like the preparation with rice on the center so I can control the ratio as I eat. Bonus points for serving corn bread that was not dry! They have a decent beer menu here as well. On my most recent visit I got the Rocket Fuel, a Vietnamese coffee porter. read more

Ordered chicken stir fry bowl and sweet & sour chicken bowl. Supposed to come with green and red peppers and onion. Spent more than $50 before tax and automatic 18% tip. All self service menu, order and payment from the phone. Stir fries did not have any peppers or onion or any other vegetables. When I told the waitress, she said the chef ran out. No substitutions, no discount, just "sorry." Won't come back for a meal that costs ten times what it was worth. read more

Despite the low reviews here, I enjoyed my meal! I stopped in during my layover. Love how updated & modern IAH is - all ordering is done on the iPad and food options are plentiful. I ended up getting the grilled pork banh (grilled pork, cilantro, daikon, cucumber, carrot, pickle aioli - $13). Yes, yes I know it was a $13 banh mi but it's an airport and I was craving asian food. To give Bam Bam some credit, it was large portion so I took half my sandwich home. I liked how flavorful it was. I could taste the umami from the fish sauce and the sweet & spiciness. The grilled pork could have been a bit more tender & less jerky-like, but again flavors were good enough that I didn't mind. I also ate this the next day and it was still just as good! I also ordered a side of pork belly ($4) because my eyes are bigger than my stomach. I ended up putting it into my banh mi too haha. I really porked myself out here. 244/365 read more

Got the beef pho. Two bites in and it made me sick. Worst pho I've ever experienced. I'm now looking for the closest restroom in the C terminal to expel whatever I just ingested. Ordered the fried rice. It was simply inedible. Rice was so overcooked that it was basically paste. I told the server that the rice was inedible and I gave it to her after a few bites. I don't really like fast food but I'd go to Wendy's before I ever eat here again. The food, portions and price are terrible. I got the smoked brisket bowl and a salad, my husband got the miso salmon. When my food arrived I was literally like wtf! The salad was ok but my brisket bowl made absolutely no sense. I have never seen anything like it. Imagine taking two small rectangles of brisket and cutting them into extremely tiny cubes as if you were feeding it to a kitten and laying it next to a bunch of bland over cooked white rice with shredded dry coleslaw over it. Dry as a bone no sauce. Same with my husbands food but his miso salmon at least had some sauce on it. We literally had to ask for some sauce. I have never had anything like it and I hope to never ever again. I got rid of my food before I remembered to take a picture, so here's my husbands to paint a picture. read more

I wanted to like this place. It's two of my favorite cuisines. First off, I know you order off tablets, but the service is terrible. All the staff stand around chatting but when I ask for napkins (you know, for my food) it took an act of the gods to flag one down. The food is priced quite high and remarkably bland, despite coming from two food cultures known for being flavorfully. I ordered the salad rolls to start, which looked nice but we're wrapped terribly so they fall apart. I asked for hot chili oil (a staple in Vietnamese cuisine) and they acted like I asked them for caviar at McDonalds. After bringing the oil, it took another 20 minutes for my simple fried rice. I was going to order the pho, except that when I asked about the pho, he had no idea what I was saying since I pronounced it correctly (fuh, not Fo). Which was a bad omen to me. Pass this place up. Please keep in mind that this rating is an 'airport food' rating, though Bam Bam would do pretty damn nicely out in the real world. The food here is prepared to order. It's prepared quickly-- as if your flight is hauling ass in minutes -- and it's prepared tenderly and full of flavor. Impressive. The staff here won't pretend to be your best friend. They are polite and efficient, but they won't ask you about your grandchildren. And that's fine with me. Just quickly hook me up with my skewers and extra tall beer and we can be friends for life. Service, Food, Location Service I went in expecting very little and was pleasantly surprised. The bartender (Samantha) and hostess kept checking in to see if I had everything I needed. Right after I ordered they were already checking with the kitchen for my food. I'd give those two 6 stars if I could. Food Steak and wings. I can't say much about their other food but, the steak was surprisingly tender and cooked to the right temperature. The wings were spicy and right. Buffalo is my flavor of choice. There aren't many choices beyond Buffalo, so that may be your negative but, wasn't a problem for me. Location 30 feet from my gate. Can't get any better than that. Bam Bam - Steak and broccoli. Can't beat it for airport food. - Vietnamese Near Me - Houston, Texas

Price was very high as is expected in the airport. Provided that service and food quality equal that price, I'm totally fine with paying that price. However, Food quality, order fulfillment time, and staff interactions were abysmal. Blatantly ignoring a guest when asking for a glass of water and a walking away were the most notable missed opportunities for service enhancement. At $30 for overcooked rice somehow mixed with undercooked rice, 4 oz of chicken, and stone hard broccoli, customers beware. read more

Have to pay in advance including tip. We received one meal ( beef brisket sandwich) at a reasonable time, but wife giot her ramen noodle hLf hour later and was barely warm to touch. I've been here several times and have to say their Grilled Pork Bhan Mi is the star of this place. That is 5 stars for this dish. The side salad that comes here is the cherry on top. That is you can either eat is as a stand alone or what I do is combine it with the bahn mi. The salad itself has a hint of a fish sauce vinaigarette, that's the correct balance of salty and sweet. Way overpriced for subpar food. Ordered a chicken Caesar, the majority of the lettuce was brown and old. Surprised they even plated this order. Seriously underwhelming food for such massive dining real estate in Terminal C. Although the marketing and appearance look inviting and inventive (what's not attractive about Cajun and Vietnamese), the food was unexceptional. The drink (I got a cocktail) was quite a lame rendition compared to how it is described. The menu is not fusion, it is either Vietnamese or it is Cajun. It's quite a standard fare for both types of cuisine so I didn't really get what was so "fusion". The fried rice I got was so barebones I could barely see any vegetables. Really a sham. The taste was alright but underwhelming. My drink was basically a beer with no proper proportions of alcohol thrown in...so underwhelming. The worst part is the ordering is done without any interaction with people, yet, you are still expected to provide a tip. Just because someone bussed me a dish and it didn't arrive by conveyer belt doesn't make this a good dining experience. The whole thing felt a bit fake to me. read more

Augh. I love Vietnamese food! So I should have known better than to order Vietnamese food in the Houston airport! I mean, it was better than getting a burger or pizza. But if you know Vietnamese flavors, you will be frustrated. Case in point: the Hanoi Rice Noodle Bowl. Where to begin? The oddly-flavored meatball? The strange paucity of lettuce (it's your cheapest ingredient! why just a few shreds)? Or the sauce -- so critical to this dish -- that was more like salad dressing than fish sauce. Or the lemongrass clams, which I ordered because of the raves here on Yelp. The flavor was there, but wow. What a salt bomb. Subtlety is not a strength here. read more

"Vietnamese Cajun"... Is this place a joke? Do they know what "Vietnamese" food is? Because there isn't a single item on the menu that's Vietnamese-influenced. Not one. I'm not sure they know what Cajun food is either. Is it the "smoked brisket sandwich"? The "teriyaki cheesesteak"? Or maybe a hidden ingredient in the "General Tso's Chicken Bowl"? This place is horrible. Seriously go ANYWHERE else in this airport. They call themselves a "Vietnamese Cajun beer garden ". They have ZERO Vietnamese food, nothing that I can see that is Cajun, and there is no garden. The only thing out of those four they have is beer.
