There's plenty of parking in the front they allow three hours We arrive on a Sunday early for my birthday. It was pretty empty and we were advised that we can sit wherever we wanted. We advised the host it was our first time so she explain how each table has a QR code (that's where everyone orders drink and food. Tip is automatically charged in the beginning without even knowing if service will be good or not. ) There is a wide beer selection of beers including wine. There is a variety of different food to choose from including vegetarian and vegan which I was so excited about. The ambience was nice. There was outdoor and indoor seating as well as patio seating upstairs. The only reason I didn't give this location a five star is because the servers seemed to be tending every other table except ours. they were bringing water to other tables and napkins and constantly checking up on them with a smile on their face. Unfortunately none of the servers came towards us to ensure everything was ok. We had to flag them down for condiments, napkins or utensils. (Might as well ask for our tip back since service was horrible). The servers didn't walk towards us until we got up to leave, which was unfortunate. I had to double check the QR code to see how service worked. Unfortunately the service was bad. And I'm big on service. At least pretend and ask how everything's going. No human Interaction. If you have any questions you have to get up and walk to the bar to ask if you need anything you have to get up or look for a server to assist you unless you look a specific way then they'll be glad to come up to you and help you unfortunately we didn't look a specific way so no one came to help us out. read more

Horrible experience that ballast point tried to scrub this review. So Cliff notes: Went for a beautiful lunch along the water one day with a friend. Upon walking in the host said we could sit anywhere but on this day, half of the restaurant was closed off for a party which was fine. We sat on the beautiful deck. The tables have QR codes which is fine but it does tie you to that table making it hard to change tables mid order (will get to this point in a minute). 10 minutes into sitting down, a patron walks by us and as he is next to our table he buckles over and throws up. It's like 1pm on a Wednesday mind you...this bro was being a messy ass queen and getting that drunk at 1pm on a Wednesday? Bro get yourself a wife. Anyways. By this point we had already ordered and since the QR code is attached to the table and since that's how we ordered, we had to wait for our food before being able to move tables. 10 minutes then 20 minutes go by and not a single employee has come by to clean up the vomit and it's right next to our table and in main walk way... After we got our food, we moved tables and ate. The food was just okay at best. Way too expensive for that's ballast point for you. read more

We came here while we waited for our hydrobike time slot. They have lots of seating indoors and outdoors. they also have a second floor with additional seating. It is right next to the water so you can enjoy a view. I only had time to order their fries, which were super thick, yummy, and oily!! They have a QR code on the table you sit at so you can conveniently order without having to wait for someone. After you order, someone will come and deliver your food or drink. I would like to come here again with more time to maybe have a drink and some food. Plenty of parking is available! read more

Ballast Point isn't your regular dining spot. How it works: you sit at any open table, scan the barcode to view the menu, and you order and pay on there as well. The kitchen and bar will receive your order and take it to your table. I went around 12 pm on a Friday for the first time and had a nice experience overall. Drinks passed the test, and my fish tacos were amazing. It was relatively empty but I heard it gets packed at later hours and a reservation is highly recommended,especially for bigger parties. We had two main servers checking up on us throughout our visit. My friend's order was taking a bit longer than mine, but they made sure to keep us updated that it was in the works and if we needed anything else. Very attentive, very clean, and definitely worth exploring if you're ever in the area! read more

I'm very disappointed by my experience at Ballast Point, particularly because I have visited before and have always enjoyed coming here with my girlfriend, who lives nearby. Unfortunately, this visit was very different because of the way a supervisor named Diego treated my friend. My friend has a learning disability. During our visit, Diego appeared to make assumptions about him based on his appearance and the way he presented himself, and refused to serve him alcohol. What was especially upsetting was how embarrassed and singled out my friend felt during the interaction. We had driven about 30 minutes from Costa Mesa to come here, and the experience affected him so deeply that he cried on the way home because he was embarrassed and did not want anyone to know about his disability. To make matters worse, after becoming frustrated, Diego charged two separate checks to the wrong cards. His overall attitude came across as rude, dismissive, and extremely unprofessional. I found it very difficult to understand how someone displaying this level of professionalism could be working in a supervisory position. What makes this even more disappointing is that we had barely done anything during our visit. We had purchased a shirt and had only ordered one beer. We came expecting to have a good time and support a place I had previously enjoyed, but instead my friend left feeling humiliated. I do want to recognize that the manager and bartender who helped us afterward were completely different. They were kind, professional, and genuinely tried to make the situation better. The manager even offered us a complimentary six-pack and invited us upstairs so we could have a better experience. I sincerely appreciate how they handled the situation and their effort to turn a very uncomfortable experience around. My issue is specifically with Diego's conduct and the way my friend was treated. This is not a criticism of every employee at Ballast Point. In fact, the manager and bartender showed us the level of professionalism and compassion I would expect from a business like this. People with disabilities deserve to be treated with the same dignity, patience, and respect as everyone else. A person's appearance or mannerisms should not lead to assumptions about their abilities or character. I hope management takes this situation seriously and addresses it appropriately. I have enjoyed coming to Ballast Point in the past, which is why this experience was especially disappointing. I hope future customers, including people with disabilities, are treated with the respect and professionalism they deserve. read more

Sadly the outdoor seating was closed by the time we got there but we sat indoors. Seating is plentiful which is nice. You seat yourself, scan the barcode and order and pay online. I couldn't make up my mind on what to order since everything looked good so I went with the fried chicken sandwich with garlic parmesan fries. She ordered the carnivore pizza. Total we payed $45 and the food was fantastic. I've had the burgers, calamari and a variety of beers in the past and it's always been over the top in quality and presentation. The family cruised over to ballast point for dinner last Saturday. It wasn't too busy around 5:30. We got a table outside upstairs as it was a seat yourself situation. You have to scan the barcode on the table to order. It actually worked out great. You order and pay at the same time and food and drinks come out pretty quick! The only downside is that there aren't servers coming to check on your table to see if you need anything. At least we didn't experience that. You also can't make any modifications to your order since you're ordering off a mobile menu. That means no ranch on the side of your burger and fries :( read more

This place never disappoints. I like to go here when my best friend is visiting from out of town. The beer selections are great, you'll be sure to find something for your flavor profiles even if you're not a typical beer drinker. There's also other beverages. Food here is also delicious. We split the burger. There's also a kids menu which was great since we had a minor with us. Family friendly for sure. Service here is always excellent. Had a great experience at Ballast Point Long Beach this past Sunday. Our server, Ray, was fantastic and really went above and beyond. We had ordered some food that hadn't come out, and when I asked Ray for help, he immediately jumped in to figure out what happened and rectify the situation. I have been coming here for years. Whenever I have a visitor in town, I always take them here. The highlight of this place will be the options of beer and the beautiful view. There are indoor and outdoor spaces that you can roam around. It gets very, very, very busy on the weekend . Parking can be very hard to find. And it was very hot. Their AC system is not good. We had a few drinks, the products are wine base, the hubster had two of the craft beers The problem with this place is not that you necessarily order from the app, (I really did not like this), but that when ordering, you are asked to tip in advance, really! If I tip in advance there is no need for the server to work to get the tip. Once our food was delivered , the server never came back and checked on us, we had to flag them down for anything else. My all time favorite is no longer consistent with their food. There have been a few hiccups, recently! I tend to shoot for their Steak Nachos which are unique due to their cheese sauce (white sauce/cheese). On two occasions I've been served day old steak and I mean old (couldn't eat my second bite). The first time, I put the steak aside but the second time, I had to return it and order something new. Service and ambiance is always on point. And thanks to Diego, my new dish and refund of the steak nachos went smoothly. He checked on me and made sure everything was running smoothly. I sure miss the poke/tuna bowl they had at one point. This place was absolutely stunning! It is such a wonderful spot to check out, particularly at sunset! It had a fun, lively vibe on a Sunday when I went to visit. My friend and I chose to get cocktails (specially the peach mojito) and they were delicious! The pastrami burger and truffle fries were excellent and overall the service was pretty quick. The only challenge I had was with my phone while trying to place my order from the table. The menu can be found via QR code, however it was challenging getting the website to work and checking out- had to place my order through my friend's phone.
