Visiting from California and came here for a Tuesday dinner with my family. Reviews looked great and we wanted a nice sit down. Plenty of parking out front and can't miss the red building. Staff greeted us right away and everyone was very nice. Fairly quiet, maybe half full around dinner time. The owners were great walking around and meeting everyone to check in. She even brought my kids some cool little games to keep. We started with drinks. Sadly they were out of an ingredient for the mule which I was looking forward to you. We ended up trying the Empress and the Zion Zombie. The empress is a great looking drink but hard to trace the actual flavor. The zombie was sweet and on point. For kids they have Pepsi products. The house bread ($1 each) is good! I got the NY steak. The sear and flavor was amazing! Minus one point for having a good amount of fat and being on the higher end at $47. The sides were delicious. Wife got the lobster ravioli which was a special and loved hers. Kids enjoyed their pizza and tenders. I think it is great how they come to your table with all the desserts on plates so you can see them. We opted for the flourless chocolate cake. It was pretty good and not too sweet. Kids enjoyed it. We had heard that goat beef ribs were excellent. Unfortunately they have discontinued them. My wife decided on the rib eye steak. It was cooked well and had good flavor. I opted for the baby back ribs. They were terrible. I ate 2 bones and left the rest. They were oven cooked, not smoked, they were barely seasoned and really dry. I wouldn't recommend them. We stayed in Virgin, UT during a visit to Zion national park. There were not many options for restaurants in Virgin, UT, so I was pleasantly surprised by Balcony One. Although most people who dined there were tourists, it was not your typical tourist spot with crappy overpriced food. There were nothing adventurous or creative about the food, but the taste was good and the portion size was huge. Empanadas were on the salty side. French onion soup was decent, but a little lighter in flavor than I am used to. The porkchop entree was big enough to share, included a juicy grilled porkchop, flash fried baked potato, and sauteed bacon and brussels sprouts. The porkchop also came with a side of salad and sage dressing. I appreciate they have a house dressing instead of boring ranch or Italian. The pasta Bolognese was also big enough to share and topped with a dollop of ricotta cheese. The house bread was soft and lightly seasoned with herbs. read more

Stopped here with my friends on a girls trip! Boy did we have big appetites to fill! This steakhouse is just outside of Springdale so when we were driving down from the North, it was a quick pitstop location for dinner. The restaurant is so cute. It looks like it was straight out of a western movie! We got there right about sunset and the view was great outside. I ordered a New York Strip to treat myself after hiking. My husband checked anyway- 8 out of 10 seats were empty.... So we sat at the bar. Bartenders were nice. But the rest of the servers in the restaurant were stressed. Overall bad vibe. They were complaint about everything- loudly. Not an enjoyable environment for dinner. When they are mad about being busy, it doesn't make customers feel comfortable. We went to Balcony One for dinner. We started with drinks and appetizers. They were both delicious! We ordered the Zion Zombie cocktail . It was refreshing and fruity. The hummus was topped with pine nuts and came with pita chips and Kalamata olives. The empanadas were filled with chicken and topped with a creamy sauce. For the entrees we ordered the Greek Salad with chicken, the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and the penne bolognese. Everything was fresh and tasty! Our server (I believe her name was Susette) was very attentive and provided great service. The owner was walking around the dining room and checking on everyone. She was very friendly! We were so full after our meals but didn't want to miss out on dessert so we ordered it to go. The baklava was perfectly sweet and had just the right amount of nuts and crispy filo dough. The peanut butter and chocolate cheesecake was light and creamy. Absolutely delicious! We truly enjoyed our dinner and will come back when we return to the area. We stopped here after driving by on our way to Zion. The place looked unique and we wanted a nice dinner after traveling. It's a quirky cute restaurant with a beautiful patio. The weather wasn't great when we were there but they sat us inside with fantastic window views. Our server was amazing, refills always there, recommendations, very sweet chit chat. Great ambiance, service and food. This restaurant is only 3-4 years old, but looks like it has been here for ever. The decor is really fun and there is a large outdoor seating area. Service is great and both owners stopped by to see how everything was. I had the arugula salad with ahi tuna added. The ahi was delicious and cooked perfectly. The salad was large and I couldn't finish it. My husband had the strip steak which was juicy, tender and delicious with some sort of yummy au jus on the side. The service staff was extremely friendly which should be expected at a steakhouse. The dining room had a bunch of kids when I was there, which carried with it a little more sound. Which made me enjoy the bar area even more The food was top notch! Well worth the price! Potatoes A u gratin server in a mini dish and steak cooked to perfection. I figured the recommendation by the note was a little much, and the other posts seemed a little prison effect considering the location of this place, but I was wrong! What an unexpected delight WAY off the beaten path. This place is gorgeous inside--antique wooden doors, layered inlaid floors, and a copper tiled ceiling. The building has a rust-colored Pueblo look outside, with a patio wall made out of empty bottles. Eclectic and charming. The fairer half of the couple that owns the place, Cindy, is the designer and her husband, George(?), originally from Greece, runs the back of the house. The food is absolutely outstanding. I had the mixed appetizer platter with hummus and tzatziki with veggies (a nice array that was super fresh and crunchy), seared Ahi with wasabi aioli (the garlic spinach and artichokes underneath were just as good as the fish!), and my husband had the 10 oz filet and potatoes au gratin (the meat was cooked to perfection and the sauce was a French saucier's dream). The service was outstanding. Austin was friendly, warm, and welcoming to us out of towners. He made great recommendations! Many things on the menu are marked Market Price, which can leave you wondering. But, they opened just two years ago, during COVID, in a weird economy so I understand that you can never quite guess what high quality meat and fish is going to cost from week to week. The ahi was $39 and the filet was $64. Not cheap, but in retrospect, definitely worth the price. I'm not sure what would make a couple open up a fine dining establishment in Virgin, Utah during a pandemic, but I'm sure glad they did. We will be back whenever we hike Zion. read more

More like a 4.5....This is off the beaten path in Virgin Utah... Before you get to Zion national Park on highway 9.. We were tired from hiking and this was close to our Airbnb...and it was delicious. Home made artwork by the owner., A cool bar and a larger than expected menu. Drinks were good.. a surprisingly decent size wine list .. Steak was terrific and cooked a perfect medium rare, grilled asparagus and mushrooms side dish Ahi tuna ...flown in from Hawaii (per the owner) ...was fantastic with spinach and artichoke pesto with cherry tomatoes.. I was stunned how tasty this dish was in a remote area of Utah. Tiramisu cake was delicious also and good coffee. We absolutely would eat here again. Some of the tables are a bit long and less intimate and other tables were a bit too high on our chest...as we initially moved a bit like Goldilocks.. trying to find the right table! From the owners George and his wonderful wife to the chef, Mr. Edgar and the amazing hostess and their welcoming staff in the bar area, shout out to Liz. it felt like a dream come true to find such an amazing establishment while out on a work trip. The food was absolutely exquisite, and you could taste the authenticity in every bite. I even asked the chef to come out so I can give them a compliment myself. This amazing restaurant is definitely worth stopping by or even driving too if you're anywhere near the area, every single dish or appetizer me my friends tried was absolutely finger, licking good. Our whole experience at Balcony One was superb. From the time George picked us up to take us to he and his lovely wife's restaurant we were treated like royality. The service from our waiter, Ezra was top knotch! My wife had the pork chop topped with a peach chutney. I had the New Youk strip. Her's was paired with maple glazed brussel sprouts and baked potato. I chose the mushroom polenta and maple glazed brussel sprouts for my sides. Both of our meals were excellent. The outside of the restaurant was designed to emulate buildings in Santa Fe New Mexico. The inside was quaint. Pulling together styles from all over. We had read reviews that this was a dressy date night spot. I guess our idea of dressy is a little different than dressy here. I was in a dress shirt my wife had on a nice dress. Both of us felt a little overdressed. Final thought, the staff is grea, the ambiance is wonderful, and the food superb! Our ribeye and fillet were both perfect-tender and delicious. The owner came around to check on our food.
