Uh oh... I have a new favorite bagel place. This is located right in the heart of Greenpoint. It's a great location and not too far from Peter Pan. They have a great selection of fresh bagels that are made throughout the day. Bagel with butter is $1.75 and specialty cream cheese is $3.50. Their salt bagels are so good - they have a TON of salt. The butter they use is very good as well. My wife loves their cinnamon raisin bagel and vegetable cream cheese. Their coffee is awesome too. The best thing above all else though is the staff. Each one of the guys is so friendly and they really deliver on customer service. So glad we found this place. It's about the same distance as our other bagel spot, and has overtaken them as our go-to. We've been here 3 times this week! read more

This's the BEST bagel shop I've ever been to! As others have noted the cream cheese spreads are yummy. (Love THE BAGELS TOO, of course...) If you want to eat in, there're only a handful of (small )tables. Few times I've been there that didn't seem to be an issue. (Most folks take out, evidently.) ^The coffee wasn't that great. Luke warm experience after having high hopes. My bagel with cream cheese was OK but nothing special. I wondered if the serving of lox was smaller because I ordered tomato as well. The muffin I ordered was, oddly, lame. Whoever heard of a lame muffin??? A better selection might help; having 3 choices at 10:30am indicates someone asleep at the mixing bowl. What really drove the final nail in the coffin was the cold coffee, which there is no excuse for. If your coffee is not hot, fix the problem. Don't let your customers have cool coffee. And I waited on line over 10 minutes for this. Again: it's 10:30am on a Monday, not the weekend rush. If you grab a seat, expect to bounce around like you're on a trampoline due to the cheap flooring, all the while listening to tired 1970s hits I've heard more times than I can imagine. This has been my go to bagel place for a while. Living on the west coast, we don't have many designated bagel stores, so I'm super stoked anytime i can get a baconeggandcheese from this spot. The fellas working behind the counter are super friendly and seem to enjoy their jobs, which is always pleasant to see. Two toasted Whole Wheat Everything Bagels with Low Fat Scallion Cream Cheese ($7) with our Acme Lemon Pepper Smoked Salmon added we were full, happy, and a bit sleepy! Now I've been living in NYC for nearly 6 months but this bagel was delicious. It was soft, chewy, and had the right amount of spice on it. You can basically taste the "everything" on the bagel. These guys are pretty good in terms of customer service and efficiency. Only thing is that they have a bad habit of messing up online orders (last time I ordered a grilled cheese wrap and they sent me a grilled cheese sandwich instead). A few instances in the past where I'd order a roll and I would get a completely unrelated bagel sandwich. Other than that, their food is good and their service is friendly. Not a fan of the lines in this place, but they work relatively quickly to take care of people as best they can. I have a secret to tell you: This is the best bagel in all of New York. I cannot comment on what they offer to put on the bagels because I have not tried any of these delicacies, and admittedly, I doubt I'd be impressed. But as for the actual bagel, hot damn. It's cooked to a golden brownness and it's plump, which means lots of sweet, fluffy bagel bread meat inside. And they shape the bagels so that the bagel hole is minimal. The bagel hole kind of looks like a butthole, but just don't think about that when you're eating the bagel. At least the bagel's tight butthole is preventing your cream cheese from oozing out, which is of extreme importance. I have another secret to tell you: Buy these bagels whole (i.e., do not get them sliced). Do not have them toasted there. In fact, never have your bagel toasted anywhere. Take the bagel home, put a little bit of water on the outside of the bagel, place it in a 300-degree toaster oven, bake it for 10 minutes, and then slice it. You don't want the bagel's inside bread meat to be hard. That's a rookie mistake. It should be soft and warm throughout. I have a final secret to tell you: I'm pregnant. THE BABY IS YOURS. read more
