What was left of the Brookster before I remembered to take a picture.
Bradford C.

I came here on a whim looking for a dessert after getting pizza in Brooklyn. I came in and ordered a Brookster and a glass of milk. The Brookster is a half brownie, half cookie, and it was everything I needed and more. The sweetness didn't overwhelm the palette, and the employee who rang me up was super kind and amazing. The place was pretty quiet, so if you're looking for a place to have a cookie and just hang out for a little bit to mellow out, Baked is the place for you.

We went on a Sunday so street parking was not that difficult. We got some cupcakes because they looked pretty and the flavors sounded great but they all tasted horrible and were very hard that we each took one bite of each item then threw it out. We also got the pecan bar and a peanut butter Nutella one - both were not worth the price and my kids hated it. We also ended up throwing them out. Also the employee that was helping us seemed very impatient which caused us to feel flustered and I didn't get to order more than I would usually for trying a bakery for the first time - albeit I have to say it benefited us since we didn't like anything we did get so would just have been an added waste of money.

Cute neighborhood bakery/cafe with lots of seating!! Our favorite baked item we tried was their zucchini bread. Would definitely come back!

Went there because it's the only cafe close to my work. The place is small and expensive. When it comes to food and drink, it isn't good. I had a latte and a cheese biscuit. The biscuit and latte tasted terrible, and it was expensive. I spent more than $10 and threw out my drink and biscuit. I would not go there again.

I don't visit Brooklyn/NYC without making a Baked stop! Rediscovered the Brookster and wow! A baked Frankenstein creation that's so good. Two great tastes (Brownie and chocolate chip cookie) brought together as one. Don't know how they did it but I do know it's delicious and a must try! Also, tried the PBJ bar-perfect combo of the childhood favorite in a bar! The standbys are the Peanut Butter Crispy bar & the Sweet and Salty brownie. Rich, decadent chocolate flavors. Excellent coffee varieties also served up by always friendly and upbeat people! Many bakeries that have "Baked" as first name in the area but make no mistake this is the one. Can we get one of these in MD?

God I love you Baked. I ordered 1dozen of sweet and salty brownies delivered And they sent it like this. Look at my picture. What a Beautiful Card. It says Baked Loves You. Good Bless. Got my delivery today on Christmas Eve. Thank You Baked

I truly appreciate that they limit the guests to 4 total. Some of these people don't understand social distancing and stand almost on top of you!! We got brownies, cupcakes, and iced lattes. The brownies were delicious!! I was hoping to save it for the ride home, but we very quickly devoured the blondie and double dark chocolate brownies very quickly! We also tried their vanilla citrus curdand chocolate chocolate cupcakes. Both were quite tasty and not too sweet! The only slightly disappointing thing and thus the 4 stars was the iced lattes. We drink a lot of coffee and espresso drinks, but these tasted a bit burnt and for $5+, you would expect it to be better. I'm glad I had something to go with the sweets, but not likely to order this again. The shop is roomy and must he a nice place to chill when indoor seating resumes. For now they just have 1 table for 2 in the front and a bench. I'd love to try their signature cakes next time, sadly this time they weren't offering any cakes (sliced or whole!)

The best thing about the cakes at Baked is the frosting. I, like so many people, don't love frosting and it's because so often it's overly sweet and very stiff. Not at Baked. Theirs is light and airy, like a whipped butter, and not very sweet at all. There used to be a cupcake shop attached to the children's book store near Union Square whose name I forget that made frosting like this. Ever since that place closed I've been seeking an airy, not too sweet frosting and I'm so happy I found it at Baked. I've tried their black out cake, birthday cake, pistachio, matcha and chocolate cupcakes. Everything here has been impressive, and they'll gladly make large bday cakes for you too. I was sad when their Tribeca location closed but happy their Red Hook location remains open. Would love for them to expand across the city!

Cute and cozy, great service, and possibly the best funfetti cupcake I've ever had. Delicious!

Brookster (cookie in a brownie) and Salted Caramel Bar

Wow! Stopped in quickly on the way back home from Ikea after I saw some of these yummy looking pastries and treats on Yelp. So glad I did! Ordered the brookster (cookie baked in a brownie) and salted caramel bar. Both were so so so good! The brookster had a nice crunchy cookie and a chocolate boost from the brownie. Perfectly balanced in terms of sweetness in my opinion. The salted caramel bar was the star for me though! The caramel is nice and soft and chewy, with a lightly salted flavor. Honestly I could take even more salt but still tasty. The shortbread cookie is buttery and crumbly and the chocolate on top is exactly what it needed to balance it all out. Baked isn't nearby so I'd have to make a trip, but I'd consider it after today's visit!

Always so good and they have a nice variety of specialty baked goods. The kids love to come here but the pastries are just so big and so good that we have to share. Nice selection and the service is excellent. My disappointment is always in the fact that they don't carry decaf coffee which is the only coffee I drink. But they have a beautiful hot chocolate and homemade marshmallows with your nice. Also at Halloween they always put out a special cake and this year was no exception.

I'm drooling writing this review. Great, now I'm craving one of those deliciously huge rice crispy treats..... The coffee cake was divine, the cookies were heaven and the rice crispy treats were v crispy. All in all, it was really great. They also have a great tea selection which I didn't expect. They have wifi, so if you're lucky enough to grab one of the tables...you can plop yourself there for an hour or two and get some work done, all while feasting on baked goods and tea. The neighborhood is otherwise pretty desolate, so this place was really a saving grace for me and my ravenous sweet tooth.

The fact that I come here so often speaks to how good Baked is since there's not really any other reason to come to Red Hook (except maybe for the pupusas and plantain chips at the ball fields. Or if you are forced to go to Ikea). I've been here 4 or 5 times over the last few years and have tried practically everything of note at this point. The thing that drew me here in the first place (after seeing it on The Best Thing I Ever Ate on the Food Network), and the one thing I always repeat and get each time, is the Sweet + Salty Brownie ($3). This is definitely the best brownie I've ever eaten. It's kind of just like a block of fudge, but with some delicious sea salt sprinkled on top and throughout. It's super dense and incredibly rich and you need to have this at least once. Or thrice. A couple of other great things I tried on my very first visit back in the day were the Chocolate Cloud Cookie (also super chocolatey, soft and rich, but not as overwhelming as the brownie) and The Brookie (if a brownie and a cookie had a sweet, delicious, chewy baby). I've also tried a ton of the several bars they have as well. My favorites were the Peanut Butter Krispy Bar and the Millionaire Bar ($3.25 each). They have a few missteps sometimes here though, like the Cowboy Cookie ($2.25), which was so hard and flavorless that I actually didn't bother finishing it. On my most recent visit, I was excited to see they now have ice cream sandwiches, or Chunkwiches as they call them ($4.50). They're a little pricy for the small size, but they are really great. He warned me not to bite into it right away since I might crack a tooth as it came right out of the freezer. I ate the Sweet + Salty Brownie while I waited for it to thaw, as well as the Chocolate Chip Banana Bread ($2.50), which was ridiculously moist and delicious. After 10 minutes or so, the Chunkwich looked ready, and it was very much worth the wait. Of the 3 available flavors, I tried the one with Peanut Butter Cookies and Blackberry Jam Ice Cream (the other two were Chocolate Chip Cookies with Vanilla Ice Cream and Cowboy Cookies with Coffee Ice Cream). This was a great combo, obviously going for the PB&J thing. I definitely wouldn't mind trying the others next time. Next time I have some time to kill and access to a car (it's way too much of a hassle getting to Red Hook from the city by public transportation, even for a brownie), I'll be back yet again for more of these excellent sweets.

They have a wide variety of super unique flavor combos like Snowball, Gingerbread and Brooklyn Black out. Counter staff is friendly and service is quick. Like everything in NY it's on the expensive side with cupcakes ranging from $4-$5. They also don't seem to price by 1/2 dozen or dozen so it means if you want a dozen you're paying at least $50. They do mean it when they say little. The space is pretty small and the tables even smaller. But still a nice place to sit and enjoy a sweet treat.

I usually go for the banana pudding, but this time I decided to mix it up and try cupcakes. I ordered the vanilla cupcake with chocolate frosting and the it was with gluten-free or vegan banana chocolate chip cupcake with frosting. The cupcakes looked beautiful! The vanilla cupcake was okay--the cake was a bit dry and slightly overbaked on top, so overall it was just average, especially for the price. The banana chocolate chip cupcake was much better, and I really enjoyed it. The frosting was good, though personally I didn't think it paired perfectly with the cupcake. One small thing: they put the cupcakes in a bag instead of a box, which I prefer. Overall, this place is worth a visit! I'd recommend trying a cupcake (maybe a different flavor next time) and the banana pudding.
