Located right on Main st in Beacon, NY. Street parking as well as a lot behind the establishment. Greeted soon as we walked in & served water immediately. Staff are very nice. Our waiter was cool but could of been more attentive since he only checked in on us once when the food came out then another time to ask if we needed boxes, etc. The drinks are always great & strong! The food was hot, fresh & delicious! The empanadas are also a hit -OMG filled with lots of meat & cheese. I've never seen Street corn served the way they serve it..cute & perfect for sharing!

I guess it depends on the time of day; there have been days when the place was filled with families with small children. It can get noisy The menu takes a nouveau approach to Mexican-Tex/Mex cuisine. Not bad, but not what you might expect. You have a vast choice of tequilas and mezcals as well as specialty cocktails to choose from. The staff is knowledgeable.

Big Baja Burrito with Steak (I've eaten roughly half)

Great! I'm rounding up from 4.5 because I feel the current stars are low for what it is. Food was quite good; the portions were better than average for the price, with generous amounts of guacamole for each plate we ordered. Presentation was also excellent. I might have liked more sour cream than I got for my burrito, but that's subjective. The server/barman ("John") also had a really good vibe, among the best service personas I've ever encountered. As if he was compensated well and treated with dignity, and was passing both on to us as the place's customers--I hope that that's the case! Ambiance: at 2:18 pm on a Tuesday, things aren't dead! Three dining groups and another four people at the bar. Hold a conversation without yelling or let other voices fill the space around you. Music is wholesome, semi-recent, and feel-good but not soulless. Like an Old Navy playlist if it wasn't curated by an exhaustively focus-tested algorithm. Impressive!

Tasty food and lots of tequila drinks. But if you are craving that authentic Mexican flavor, this ain't the place.

Angus and Chorizo burger with a side of plantain along with guacamole & tomato. Just delicious.

Love going here. The entrance opens like a garage, to the left is a lonnng Tequila bar with 3 rows of your favorite Agave. Very comfortable, food is delicious. Service was spot on. BTW There are many different restaurants on this Main St. in Beacon.

Just came here for a light dinner. Was very impressed with the food. Cool ambiance too and músic. Had the 3 taco combo. Ahi tuna, shrimp, scallop. Delicious! Keep in mind there's a surcharge for using credit card so bring cash. Will be back to try other things when in the area. My favorite is ahi tuna but I also like the scallops and shrimp. Came with beans and rice.

Came here during the beacon food drink event. They did not participate but we needed to cool off. Place was crowded and we were seated immediately We got an appetizer of quesadilla and a mezcal mixed drink. Sat us down quick and served us politely and efficiently :) Place served its purpose Menu looked good but we were full from the event And just wanted to spread some love for beacon shops

I loved the indoor outdoor feel. At Baja 328, the front entrance has garage doors; perfect for those warm weather days and inviting for people walking about on Main Street. The taco salad with shrimp was everything i was hoping for and more. It was full of fresh ingredients and flavorful, juicy and sizable shrimp. Highly recommend and will definitely be having it again, maybe switching it up and trying to with the steak or chicken offered.

Happy a shrimp quesadilla NEVER FAILS the staff is AMAZING, love the vibes, it is just a happy place you could feel it as soon as you go inside. Izzy the chef never disappoints. This time I skipped the drink because I was on my lunch break. This place never seems to disappoint. I went a couple of weeks ago for my birthday as well and tipped my first drink over totally my fault. As I was cleaning it up one of the staff members appeared with a rag and said no worries I will clean it up for you and the other staff member was already making my drink for me. We had the nachos with steak and let me just tell you, one person cannot finish that the portions are great. When we asked for the bill they bought out a slice of cake for me. It was so nice of them. Definitely a great place

Lunch spot for a day trip to Beacon! My friends had the tacos, the Shrimp tacos being their favorite. I had the taco salad which was superb, best I've ever had. Comes in a taco shell bowl. We ordered the nachos for the tables with shredded chicken (on the side for the pescatarian in our group) the seasoning was very tasty. It's a tequila bar, we had Casa Azul Tequila on the rocks, but the true star of the show was their seasonal margarita, Guava coconut with a toasted coconut rim. The server was very friendly and knowledgeable and made excellent recommendations. Truly great spot!!

Great experience with my friends also with an unexpected Don Josè truck outside! Food: the appetizer of popcorn chicken with the sauces were underwhelming, though the sauces were really good. My main course meal was fantastic, a Buffalo chicken chimichanga, which came recommended by the waitress when I asked. Everyone at the table tried and really liked it. My wife enjoyed her tacos and my friends enjoyed their meals (tacos and fajitas). Aesthetic: deceivingly long restaurant with a nice bar area, although it does feel a little tight which doesn't help during COVID. Service: when our waitress was there she was fantastic, but it seemed like it wasn't really all that great, maybe because they were busy.

I am a serious taco fan so of course I liked this place. I gave the waiter, Nick, a 5 for service. He was so nice, came over to the table several times, and was an awesome server. The hostess, not too friendly. The ambience was awesome... A rustic taco-ria. The empanadas were OK but would have preferred more meat than cheese in it. The loaded french fries were yummy of course... How can you go wrong with that?. My favorite taco was the scallop taco and the shrimp taco. The chipotle chicken taco was good also. Was not a fan of the pork belly taco as it was too thick and dried out. My one recommendation would be to offer chips and salsa, instead of pico de gallo with chips. I will be back.

This restaurant was a good place for a post hike dinner. Their portions were huge and very nourishing. We shared the short rib quesadilla and the taco salad with chicken. The quesadilla was extremely heavy and oily. Normally not what I would go for, but after a long hike, I gobbled it up. The taco salad complemented it well. It had a ton of veggies and fresh dollop of guac on top. The amount of chicken was insane too. So flavorful! We also got a strawberry jalapeño margarita. It was spicier than other jalapeño margaritas we've tried, in a good way. Our only gripe is that it took a long time to get water. No one stopped by to check on us during our meal until we were done eating so that was our only opportunity to get water.

Seasonal drinks mine was strawberry and coconut so amazing!

But when I want to have an elevated experience with a nod to fine dining, this is my go-to. I always bring friends from out of town here and everyone is impressed. The bartenders make the best martinis and Manhattans you'll find, along with a seasonal cocktail menu that features something for everyone, including mocktails. When I don't want a full dining experience but the hubs and I have a babysitter, we like to sit at the bar for martinis and oysters - SO FRESH! If you don't do oysters, anything on the appetizers list is a wonderful light bite. I don't know what kind of magic the chef uses to make the salads but they are always simple, yet stunning. For dinner, the steak is hard to pass up if you eat red meat. I usually get the single serving NY strip, which is incredible. You can't go wrong. I'm excited to try the porterhouse for 2. My mollusk loving friend raved about the mussels and the fish selection is fantastic. I'm not a big dessert person, but splitting any of the desserts is a treat. Alternatively, the digestif selection doesn't disappoint. The bartenders and bar manager, Nick, are helpful in guiding your taste buds to the right choice. Bud, the owner, whose previous establishments can be read about in some respectfully placed articles around the restaurant, is always accommodating for the busiest place in town. It's nearly impossible to get a seat on Friday and Saturday nights from 6-9, but he will be honest and create a space at one of the little side bar areas if he can. The ambiance is sexy and sophisticated with a touch of whimsy. The toilet paper holder in the restroom always makes me smile (IYKYK). Having been to this restaurant many times, you'll start to see familiar faces as there is now a strong regular crowd. The community and connections that I've found while at Lyonshare have enhanced my experience of living in Beacon. Oh, last thing - brunch is a can't miss, must do culinary event.

We shared the Butter and Blue salad, really well done. The fusilli Ferretto with lamb ragu was one of the best meals I've had in months. We shared a bottle of Madonna Dell Donno Barolo wine which was probably not the best choice for the sea bass but was an outstanding match for the lamb ragu. The cocktails and dessert were also perfectly done!

On a trip to Colorado, Kihlmire visited a shop that featured an abundance of books and records. He came up with an idea to open a similar shop that would also feature craft beer. Kihlmire initially opened The Vinyl Room by himself in Wappingers Falls. In addition to beer, records, and video games, customers could also enjoy pizza by ordering it through a special window that connected to the Wagon Wheel next door. Although the concept was well-received, the small space and constraints from the landlord limited the full potential of the business. In July 2021, it moved to a new space at 344 Main Street in Beacon. Customers could order food from Roma Nova across the street. Unfortunately, the space was still too small and the owners received numerous noise complaints from apartment tenants upstairs. In August 2023, The Vinyl Room moved down the street to 393 Main Street to their third (and hopefully forever) location. For the latest version of the business, childhood friend Kane Licari came on board as a partner. This also marks the first time that The Vinyl Room features a kitchen with their own food. The menu features burgers, sandwiches, wraps, salads, rice bowls, tacos, wings, and various bar bites. In addition to craft beer, the bar also serves wine, craft cocktails, and mocktails. I recently visited The Vinyl Room for lunch with my two sons while we were visiting Beacon. Any place that features craft beer, records, and classic arcade cabinets sounds like Heaven to someone like me. I really liked the whole vibe of the interior with the industrial design and all of the pop culture and music references. My sons and I grabbed a booth and looked over the menu. For food, I had the "Crunchy Chicken Bowl" (sushi rice, pickled onions, avocado, arugula, charred corn, chili garlic crunch, creamy garlic sauce), my older son had the "Grilled Cheese" (Vermont white cheddar, havarti, slow roasted onions, roasted garlic butter, sourdough), and my younger son had the "Return of The Mac" (smoked gouda Vermont cheddar cream, buttery breadcrumbs). We were all very happy with our choices! To drink, I had a draught pour of Upward Brewing's "Summer Camp" (Helles Lager). After finishing our delicious meal, I scrolled through the impressive record collection. Then we all headed downstairs to have a blast in the arcade. Before leaving, I enjoyed a pour of Equilibrium Brewery's "Tidal Balance" (Double IPA; collab w/ Sand City Brewing). We all had such a fun experience at The Vinyl Room and we hope to return in the future!

Others were ahead of me, so I patiently waited to order: Tripple Smash Burger, Honey Buffalo Salad, Purple Rain (2), Diet Coke. I paid at the bar, served the drinks and waited for our food. The music was 80's MTV Themed {Pat Benatar, Bon Jovi, Bruuuce, Billy Idol}. Jenga, Horrible Couple and Cards Against Humanity were on the tables to pass the time. Or flip through the many records available for purchase until the food arrives. The salad was large in size and very good. Been a while since I had a burger, and this filled the void. Fries were not that hot, but we ate them anyway. Afterwards, we went downstairs and played some old school arcade games and then headed out. Upon leaving we saw someone was having a birthday party, which was nice to see. I'm sure in the summer this place gets packed. They also have a selection of draught beer (The proper way to spell it). Good choice for food, although it wasn't cheap. Bill w/tip was $100. I think having a server on staff for all hours would be a good decision for TVR to make, in order to TCB !

We were seated right by the window and it has a lovely view. Generally speaking, the ambience is really nice. All of the staff was very nice and attentive. We did have a newer server who seemed a little bit nervous and less familiar with the menu than you might want, but she was very nice and we have no complaints about the actual service. We split a half bottle of wine, which was a nice option since we didn't want a full bottle. We started with the French baguette, the brussels sprouts, and the whipped ricotta. The brussels sprouts were delicious. They were perfectly cooked and I couldn't stop going back to them. The whipped ricotta was also really interesting and the flavors were amazing. What was really disappointing was the baguette. When I think baguette, I think crusty, hot, out of the oven. The texture of the baguette was weird because it almost had more of a pretzel like exterior that was chewy and not crispy. For mains, we had the crispy chicken sandwich and the cassoulet. The sandwich was kind of a letdown. The flavors were all nice, but there was no textural difference. The bun was a little too big for the sandwich, the avocado, and the other toppings, just all kind of mushed into each other. It was perfectly enjoyable, but just nothing to write home about. The cassoulet was very good. There was a nice depth of flavor and smokiness to the meat. Overall, no complaints. It did seem as though our mains probably sat under a heat lamp. My guess is that because we were still working on the appetizers they did not want us to feel rushed, but with this kind of meal and the price point, they should do a better job pacing, or they should just bring the food out when it comes out. I would rather have the fresh hot food out of the kitchen, than have it sitting under a heat lamp. Overall, the meal was lovely. There were a lot of really high points. There were also some disappointing parts of the meal. Given the price point and the feel of the round house, the few missteps hit a little bit harder. But we would absolutely come back again. It was an overall very nice experience and we enjoyed our ourselves.

It was founded by husband and wife Johnny Coughlin and Alyssa Follansbee. Coughlin is a cinematographer by trade while Follansbee is a public school art teacher. In 2011, the couple were both living in the Wicker Park area of Chicago. When the Emporium Arcade bar opened in their neighborhood, they both fell in love with the concept of an arcade bar. They later moved to New York City and visited as many arcade bars as they could with the intent to one day open one of their own. By 2018, the couple relocated upstate to Beacon to start a family. It dawned on them that Beacon would be a great location to open a "barcade". The couple didn't just want to open a place for adults to chase the nostalgia of their childhood, but rather a place that the whole family could enjoy. After securing a location on Main Street, and after a short delay from the COVID-19 pandemic, Happy Valley Arcade Bar finally opened to the public. I recently visited Happy Valley with my two sons while we were visiting Beacon. I've loved arcade bars since the first time I visited a Barcade location in 2014. I love sipping on excellent craft beers while enjoying the classic arcade cabinets of my youth. I also appreciate it when arcade bars are family friendly, as both of my sons have also taken an interest in arcade games. We all enjoyed the interior of Happy Valley with all of the crazy colors and spaceship-themed decor on the walls. There was a decent selection of classic arcade cabinets as well as pinball machines, both of which kept my sons occupied for a while. In addition to a nice selection of craft beer on draught, the bar also offers wine, craft cocktails, non-alcoholic options, and various bar bites such as chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, and mac 'n' cheese bites. There were also plenty of seating options both inside and outside. We had already eaten lunch earlier, but I was definitely in the mood for some tasty brews while I played some games. I first enjoyed a Thin Man Brewery's "Pills Mafia" (German Pilsner) followed by an Old Glenham Brewery's "Weaver's Pale Ale" [on cask]. Both of them were flavorful and refreshing. We ended up staying for over an hour; it was nice bonding time for my sons and me. We will definitely stop in again the next time we're visiting Beacon!
