A little disappointed with this visit. The bachata music is definitely NOT Mexican and a too little loud for lunch. Asked them not to put the rice under the broiler/salamander, in English and Spanish, it makes it dry and crispy. When the entrée arrived the enchiladas were tepid. We called the server over and told him. He took it back and a while later came back with a new platter; but with crispy rice! : ( At least the enchiladas were warm.

We were in the area and decided to come here. We have been here before. We enjoy the ambience and the food. Typical Mexican restaurant. They bought the dishes out and not a long time waiting. my dish comes with garlic sauce, mushrooms, rice and beans which I asked not to get since I don't like them in exchange I got the guacamole and salsa. It was very good. Very satisfied. I always recommend the restaurants that the quality of food is very good. I am not disappointed

I have frequently been to this establishment with my husband and I. We haven't hit "Regulars" status, but we are definitely fast approaching it. Casa Vallarta can be found in a small shopping plaza in Wappingers. There are other established shops in there that share the parking lot and it can fill up quickly. However, the parking doesn't detract from the great service, drinks, and food. The restaurant itself is decorated with bright and festive colors, its other Central American style establishments. Their selection of drinks is a two page menu spread of their different margarita options. I love flavored margaritas but I stand by the good ol' classic version as well and they make an excellent one! 9 time out of 10 I will order their classic margarita. Upon being seated, the staff will serve chips, salsa, and refried beans. I have had a few dishes of theirs; fajitas, their pork in salsa verde, the carne asada and a few pescado dishes. All are excellent! My all time favorite to order though is their chile rellanos stuffed with cheese and a side of guacamole. Most dishes come with a serving of rice and beans unless specified on the menu or requested by the customer. They are excellent at accommodating dietary restrictions. I ask to sub the rice (grain-free) for an extra side of beans. So if you're looking to try somewhere new that is guaranteed to become a regular in your restaurant rotation, definitely come try Casa Vallarta.

Wet soggy greasy chicken quesadillas.

We come here all the time to eat in and to pick up. Very disappointed tonight, with our pickup. Two quesadillas were $40 and were a greasy, wet, soaking mess. The chicken was pink! It looked like they cooked the chicken in a sauce for another dish and just threw it into our quesadillas. It has never been made like this before. Terrible! We had to go home and put them in the toaster oven to make them edible.

This is another hidden Hudson Valley gem! The ambiance, the decor, the staff, THE FOOD! All easily five stars... Went on a random rainy Tuesday night and everything was perfect! The serving sizes are out of this world & so the leftovers are just as delicious the next day!!!! Give them a try soon!

Honestly, I didn't have any idea that this gem of a place was so close by and so good! We came here to celebrate my brother's birthday and we're glad we did. The food was good and plentiful, the margaritas were nice, the prices were reasonable, our server was very pleasant, so in summary nothing was negative aside from feeling the cold air when the door opened lol. We were a party of 6 and all got something different and we all enjoyed our entrees. The trio fajita platter, tres amigos special, seafood mix special, chicken fajita salad were soo good. I can't remember the names of the other 2 entrees. We had a very nice time here and would definitely return in the future.

I heard really great things about this restaurant and being that we love Mexican food, had to give it a try. We placed an order ahead of time and everything was ready in the quoted amount of time. The restaurant is within a plaza and has parking available. First off, I was very pleased that we received a huge bag of chips and salsa. It bothers we when we order Mexican food and they don't include it with take out but would offer it inside. I actually really look forward to that. The portions were definitely large. My fiancé's chorizo quesadillas were way too greasy though. The chorizo probably should have been drained before making the quesadillas because it was pooling at the bottom of the container where the quesadillas were sitting. I ordered enchiladas and they were okay. I have to admit that I'm very picky when it comes to Mexican food because I've had some really delicious food. It wasn't bad but I've had better. I'd be willing to give the place another shot and order a different dish. Maybe next time we'll dine in.

Oh amazing, amazing, amazing. The food is a five, service is a five, and ambience is a five. The atmosphere is fun and decorative. The portion size is ginormous... And the margaritas are like fish bowls. Definitely making this one of our regular spots

There is a reason why I don't care to eat at chain restaurants! Food is mediocre at best. If you go for the ambiance, and the drinks, maybe you will find it ok. As for the food; completely over priced for the quality as well as the presentation. Our waitress was very nice and apologetic when our food came COLD! She brought back the same plates that were most likely "nuck" for a few minutes!!! Tasteless, generic, Mexican food for the crowds! As for the drinks I cannot judge, but the lady sitting at a table nearby, Judge hers too sweet!! The restaurant itself is very colorful and pretty, the quality is just NOT THERE! There are too many "mom and pap" Mexican restaurants where you can eat delicious food, try them, you will be pleasantly surprised.

I did come at an in-between time (around 3pm), so it's possible that this was a one-off, but it was so meh that I'm not sure I'll be back to give it another shot (if I do, I'll come right at lunch or dinner time). The good: the mole was fantastic! Even with a mediocre meal, this stood out as amazing. The portions were generous. I thought at one point the woman asked if I wanted chicken or beef enchiladas, and having never had beef enchiladas I said "beef please." It turns out, I received chicken enchiladas with a portion of skirt steak on top (see photo). Again, very generous. The decor was lively. The misses: The beans were quite bland, to the point where I was surprised...it's such a foundational element of Mexican cuisine, but they needed more spices / a touch more salt. Also, my wife ordered the veggie wrap and it was bland. It contained lots of different vegetables, but somehow they weren't seasoned. I know vegetarian burritos aren't all the craze, but when I took a bite of it, I agreed...it was just vegetables, no seasoning at all. Nice to have it on the menu for folks like my wife, but why not season them first? Maybe it was an oversight. The horchata was different from what I've had in the past...not bad, but not something I would recommend either. It was watery, lacked any cinnamon flavor, and had ground almond on top, which was interesting (maybe this is regional?). Without the dynamite mole and the generous portions, this would be a 2 star review, but I can't, in good conscience, give less than 3 stars with mole like that. But the beans...womp womp.

The menu is extensive with some Mexican plates you rarely see at most Mexican restaurants. The totopos are really crisp. The beans are well cooked and seasoned, the rice is moist, with some entrees the piquancy can be adjusted. The main dining room and uni-sex rest room is kept clean. Take-out available. Compostable and microwavable takeout containers There is some street parking.

It was about 1:30 and the place was empty though people came in and made orders to go. The waitress also seemed to be cooking in The back. The manager was also there to help us pick from their menu. We ordered our drinks and i got an horchata. This horchata was delicious and gigantic. They also brought nacho chips with beans to eat while we wait for our order and they were so good. I got a simple order of steak tacos. The meat was good and tender i do wish that their hot sauces were spicier as i prefer it spicy. We also got a plate of chicken that seems to be fried in a sweet batter. It was tasty but I wasn't a big fan of the sweet batter. There was also an order of tamales de molé which tasted a little dry butt spicy. Overall the place and food was a solid 4/5.

The major win for this restaurant in addition to the portion sizes? Their handmade flour tortillas that come on their empanadas / quesadillas -- such delicious, earthy and chewy tortillas!
