Tacos. From L to R: carnitas, chorizo, al pastor
    Beth M.

Came back with my kiddos so we could try a bunch of other things. We got the flautas which were tasty. Personally I think I'd get them without lettuce on top next time. We tried a bunch of quesadillas - carnitas, chorizo, and Al Pastor (Goxyla). All were quite good. We also tried the steak tacos this time and the steak is outstanding. I got my tacos with cheese, onions and cilantro and liked that combo. My favorite meats in order are now chorizo, steak, al pastor, then carnitas.

I had some delicious al pastor memelitas and 3 different kinds of tacos last week and everything was a 10/10. They also gave me a generous portion of guacamole and fresh fried tortilla chips on the side. I found out about this place through Instagram and they were amazing as expected. The agua fresca de pepino y piña was smooth and refreshing. Pleaseee come visit this spot if you're in Poughkeepsie. I got a hotel right next to them just to try them out. Thank you so much!!

What a wonderful experience! Felt genuinely cared for and appreciated by staff and the food was amazing. Such a hidden gem!

Highly recommend! Was killing time waiting for my wife and wandered in to grab a quick bite. The tacos were some of the best I've had in a long time! Colorful, fresh ingredients, piled high and filling. Delicious freshly made Tortillas and a cute little restaurant with friendly staff. Highly recommend and will definitely be back

I had to drink the Horchata con tuna, Which has dragon fruit in it and made the horchata pink and still has the great horchata taste but by the end of drink you got the dragon fruit bits which kinda changed the game a little. I had the goxyla burrito... HOLY can I curse here? F&7k!ng s4!t. I was told the food was gonna be good but DAMN. As I sit here and think about the burrito, I'm still amazed on how good it really was. The ingredients tasted so fresh, the meat had so much flavor, and the egg... I mean when you think about it usually when you add an egg to some meals it just makes it that more amazing... but in this burrito, and I've had a lot of burritos, but this one right here...I will drive an hour + just to get this burrito again. And I've thought about this, cause I'll travel to Jersey to get birria at locostacos... so I'll definitely be back here for this burrito. Service was nice and friendly, the ambiance was ok... I like the huge menu on the wall... the bathroom situation was kind of weird, you had to walk outside and go along the side the person would unlock it for you, so I passed on it lol. But overall that burrito

    Huge menu!!!

As if Poughkeepsie needed another excellent Mexican food joint...but alas we got one! This is perfectly located to service mid Main street area. Very friendly kind service, authentic dishes at reasonable prices. Clean space to eat in or take out. You can also grab fresh tortillas or chips to take home. They also have specials and drinks Agua Fresca, fresh juices and smoothies. I'll be returning for sure.

Authentic Mexican food. Delicious! Very casual. They make homemade tortillas made with corn flour from Mexico.

I'll be honest, I was disappointed by my experience here. I absolutely love Mexican food and, being…read morenew to the area, was excited to see this business with an immaculate reputation on Yelp. I did come at an in-between time (around 3pm), so it's possible that this was a one-off, but it was so meh that I'm not sure I'll be back to give it another shot (if I do, I'll come right at lunch or dinner time). The good: the mole was fantastic! Even with a mediocre meal, this stood out as amazing. The portions were generous. I thought at one point the woman asked if I wanted chicken or beef enchiladas, and having never had beef enchiladas I said "beef please." It turns out, I received chicken enchiladas with a portion of skirt steak on top (see photo). Again, very generous. The decor was lively. The misses: The beans were quite bland, to the point where I was surprised...it's such a foundational element of Mexican cuisine, but they needed more spices / a touch more salt. Also, my wife ordered the veggie wrap and it was bland. It contained lots of different vegetables, but somehow they weren't seasoned. I know vegetarian burritos aren't all the craze, but when I took a bite of it, I agreed...it was just vegetables, no seasoning at all. Nice to have it on the menu for folks like my wife, but why not season them first? Maybe it was an oversight. The horchata was different from what I've had in the past...not bad, but not something I would recommend either. It was watery, lacked any cinnamon flavor, and had ground almond on top, which was interesting (maybe this is regional?). Without the dynamite mole and the generous portions, this would be a 2 star review, but I can't, in good conscience, give less than 3 stars with mole like that. But the beans...womp womp.

The menu is extensive with some Mexican plates you rarely see at most Mexican restaurants. The totopos are really crisp. The beans are well cooked and seasoned, the rice is moist, with some entrees the piquancy can be adjusted. The main dining room and uni-sex rest room is kept clean. Take-out available. Compostable and microwavable takeout containers There is some street parking.

It was about 1:30 and the place was empty though people came in and made orders to go. The waitress also seemed to be cooking in The back. The manager was also there to help us pick from their menu. We ordered our drinks and i got an horchata. This horchata was delicious and gigantic. They also brought nacho chips with beans to eat while we wait for our order and they were so good. I got a simple order of steak tacos. The meat was good and tender i do wish that their hot sauces were spicier as i prefer it spicy. We also got a plate of chicken that seems to be fried in a sweet batter. It was tasty but I wasn't a big fan of the sweet batter. There was also an order of tamales de molé which tasted a little dry butt spicy. Overall the place and food was a solid 4/5.

The major win for this restaurant in addition to the portion sizes? Their handmade flour tortillas that come on their empanadas / quesadillas -- such delicious, earthy and chewy tortillas! They're really close to the stairs to go up to the walkway over the hudson. Great stop before or after a trek! They've updated their name to "Seven".
