Delicious memelitas, quesadilla and chips and guac! Very authentic from the location itself to the food. Tortillas are as fresh as possible, possibly the best part of the meal. So flavorful and perfectly cooked. We got some to go to make our own enchiladas at home, can't wait to try them. The side of guac and chips was huge and also incredibly fresh. The quesadilla was well filled and tasty, could've been cooked a little longer if I had to complain but very flavorful. Food was delicious. We got the barbacoa, Al pastor memelitas and steak tacos. The barbacoa had rich Smokey flavor and was cooked perfectly. I would highly recommend this. Memelitas were delicious a little messy but the fresh tortilla and the lard that they use was on point. The tacos were good but the steak needed a little more sear. Was In town for work. Ordered three dishes at 11am for a pick up. Came back at 1pm to pick up the food. Food was not ready and the staff had no idea what happened to my order. Asked the cashier about my order and she ignored and deprioritized me. No explanation no apology nada. Had high hopes as this was advocated as one of Poughkeepsie's best Mexican restaurants. Never going back unless they establish a system for their operation. If you are still interested, come prepared to wait for two hours for your food. read more

Came back with my kiddos so we could try a bunch of other things. We got the flautas which were tasty. Personally I think I'd get them without lettuce on top next time. We tried a bunch of quesadillas - carnitas, chorizo, and Al Pastor (Goxyla). All were quite good. We also tried the steak tacos this time and the steak is outstanding. They also gave me a generous portion of guacamole and fresh fried tortilla chips on the side. I found out about this place through Instagram and they were amazing as expected. I had to drink the Horchata con tuna, Which has dragon fruit in it and made the horchata pink and still has the great horchata taste but by the end of drink you got the dragon fruit bits which kinda changed the game a little. I had the goxyla burrito... HOLY can I curse here? F&7k!ng s4!t. I was told the food was gonna be good but DAMN. As I sit here and think about the burrito, I'm still amazed on how good it really was. The ingredients tasted so fresh, the meat had so much flavor, and the egg... I mean when you think about it usually when you add an egg to some meals it just makes it that more amazing... but in this burrito, and I've had a lot of burritos, but this one right here...I will drive an hour + just to get this burrito again. Chile rellenos were out of this world! I normally order this when i visit a new mexican joint, but when I found out they were chicken rellenos and not cheese, I changed my order to carnitas (another meter I would use to judge a new restaurant). The super sweet gal at the counter said, "no, try the rellenos, they just made them" and I hesitantly obliged, as I normally find chicken rellnos bland. I also ordered a single carnitas taco so I could try both. The carnitas taco was excellent. The rellenos blew my mind. I finally visited this lovely place for the first time today. It's a storefront on Main Street in Poughkeepsie and just a block away and around the corner from the Bardavon. They have a blackboard listing their menu, which is small yet delicious. My BF got menudo, which was so flavorful and such a generous portion, and it came with fresh homemade tortillas. I had steak tacos, which was delicious as well. It was made as it should be with two corn tortillas, onion, cilantro and lime. All that's missing is sliced radishes! We took home a pound of their flour tortillas, which is beyond description. There is absolutely nothing that can compare to homemade tortillas. read more
