I've been to Bailey's Chocolate Bar maybe 4-5 times over the years. I always wanted to go more than I did. It can be difficult to get your people to go to a chocolate martini bar just because. Hey, you may think they're into it because it's chocolate, but when it's in the city and the food offerings are limited, people start hitting 30 and it's more difficult to get them to go. My visits being infrequent over a decade are one of the things that will help me remember Bailey's as a special place. Other things: the drinks, the decor, the atmosphere, the roses on the tables, and those small cookies. Thank you, and come back to me if you can, even in my dreams.
Another business closing I didnt get out to enough! Had a lovey evening with my friend. The Mexican Chocolate drink was tasty. Slightly bitter, but drinkable for it? And I thought the mango dessert was so delicious and cute. The graham cracker crust was great. Rip, Bailey's Chocolate Bar
First time at Bailey's' Chocolate Bar in probably a decade! Went with some girlfriends - glad we made a reservation, as the space is fairly small. It is so gorgeous inside, a bit dark, and could be slightly loud (but shout out to whoever had a Disney playlist on!). Service was good and our waitress was very friendly! We each got a martini - the classic, the very dark, and the espresso - all were delicious!! Split the spanakopita and fries which were both really yummy (and I'm not usually a big spanakopita fan). then, the main event - split the bread pudding and chocolate cheesecake. Both were delicious! I'd definitely go back - highly recommend for a date night or girls night at the bar even!
Loved the duck and apple flatbread. The tiramisu martini was excellent! Loved the waiter, the atmosphere and the dessert choices. They have beautiful outdoor patio area to sit in eve (we didn't this trip as it was very cold). Glad we found a new spot for drinks. Menus were outdated, the pickled shrimp cocktail and caprese flatbread are no longer available. The salted caramel old fashioned tasted like gasoline. Just FYI: The restroom is downstairs, not handicap accessible.
This was the final stop we made for my birthday dinner plans on Thursday evening. The espresso martini was TO DIE FOR--the best I've ever had. They were out of several of their desserts, so I didn't get to try the chocolate orange cheesecake (the reason we went there in the first place). It was disappointing, but we settled on the banana split--ya definitely cant go wrong! I'm still dreaming about the layer of crunchy brûlée on the banana. Service was a bit slow but all of the staff were very friendly. It was moderately busy, more than I expected for a Thursday at 9pm--it's clearly a popular spot! The space feels super intimate, definitely a good option for a date. I'm planning to keep an eye on their seasonal offerings to plan another time to go. Although, I'd go for the martini alone!
Good service and great vibe. Came here with a friend and got cocktails and the sampler plate to split. Was a LOT of food for just two people, we ended up leaving a lot of the popcorn behind. Great place for a date night or a special event. Probably not somewhere I'll come to frequently because it has a limited menu. There was plenty of street parking. The desserts are pretty good but feels as though it's all premade or frozen. I wouldn't describe the food as ultra gourmet but was fun to try it out!

Has a great atmosphere and feel to it. Staff was great, attentive enough but not too much. Thr food itself we got the lover plate. Description itself seemed enticing and when when we got the plate very exciting. But it becomes a disappointment with thr popcorn. Taste and feel cheap and used to fill flare without giving you more. The chocolate balls are very rich. Thr banana brulee was great and so where thr brownies and chocolate chip cookies. I didn't get to taste the macrons. Contrary to thr previous pictures they gVe two not three. But I went there because I had read thry served amazing drinking chocolate. Thr plate itself had two small cups, but rather than drinking or sipping chocolate it was dipping chocolate. It wasn't hot wither but a bit cold not even warm temperature. I had to order a cup of hot chocolate, which didn't take like high percentage of cacao but almost regular hot chocalate but higher end quality. I don't drink so, I have nothing to say about that end of thr business.
Went on an absolutely lovely date to this location! Very romantic atmosphere with low lighting and upscale aesthetic. The espresso martini was the best espresso martini I've ever had! We also ordered the lovers plate, which was very similar to that of a charcuterie board where there were multiple types of desserts to sample. We also had the most wonderful server, Jimmy. My partner is hard of hearing and he was very accommodating and friendly. The date was pretty cute too . Cannot recommend this place enough!
Took my partner here for his birthday. Everything tasted amazing! For drinks we got a dubai chocolate martini and a cappuccino and for food we got the spanakopita, blondie and the bread pudding. I especially LOVED the cappuccino, absolutely perfect. My only critiques is there could be just a tad bit more lighting in the back, it was pretty dim and a little difficult to read the menus. Also the music could be turned down a tad as well. Had a great date here overall and would likely go back :)
What a lovely experience. Our server Astor was exceptionally good. He was so nice and has such a gentle manner. He made the evening so nice. The restaurant is tastefully decorated and very cozy. We started with drinks, an espresso martini and strawberry whiskey. Both were very good. Bailey's Chocolate Bar is mostly known for dessert but they have a few savory items. Flatbread, cheese and charcuterie, crab cakes. The cheese and charcuterie board was very good with some interesting cheeses. A Norwegian Gjetost was delicious. Crab cakes were great. Crispy and hot. We ended with the lovers plate. A lot of delicious sweets and drinking chocolate. The drinking chocolate was very good and the treats on the plate which were numerous were so good. We had a nice array to take home. I highly recommend Bailey's Chocolate Bar!
Baileys' exceeded my expectations, which were already high because I love chocolate and chocolate martinis! I love that they take reservations too. With the ambiance, it can be a cute romantic or friend date spot, and there is plenty of options for food and drinks. My friends and I focused on trying the drinks but one of them enjoyed the flatbread they ordered. When seated at our table, the server had given us these delicious small cookies for free - one for each person! The chocolate martinis were amazing - my favorite was the signature martini! Certainly want to come back and try more martinis and food in the future though (also heard from a friend that their desserts are great)!
Bailey's is a longtime establishment in St. Louis. It is located in Lafyette Square which is an area of the city I have always enjoyed. It is a place I tend to go to other restaurants in the area, but stopped in one night after eating at the Polite Society. This is probably the biggest knock for the spot, I don't view it really as an option for food. They do have a modest food menu, but it is definitely thought of as a drinks and dessert place. That probably is inherently tied into the fact it is a chocolate bar! I don't think of that theme overlapping with many great main dishes. I've heard reasonable things about their dishes, but it isn't what anyone really talks about and I've never heard anyone say they went to Baily's for the food. The ambiance is pretty good but very dark. This gives it a romantic vibe. The place is always busy, typically a mixture of couples on dates and girls' nights. I think every time I've been in there was an all girls birthday celebration or bachelorette group. People tend to be dressed up, with this being one of many stops on a night out for many patrons. I think for these sort of activities it is a great spot. I mean my wife and I stopped in on a date night to get a dessert. That is the drawback though, it serves a bit of a niche role in the food/restaurant community in St. Louis. For that role it is great, but it limits it appeal to a degree. If you think a chocolate martini and a slice of indulgent cake sounds great stop in. If you want a porterhouse steak and craft beer go somewhere else.

If you love all things chocolate, this is the place for you. We came here after dinner on Thursday because I was craving a brownie and I knew theirs would slap. We walked in and were warmly greeted by the bartender/server. Water and menus were immediately given, as well as some complimentary chocolate chip cookies. Everything on the menu looked so good, but I already knew I wanted the Bailey's brownie. My boyfriend got the banana split. After a short while our desserts arrived and I couldn't wait to dive in. The brownie was the perfect mixture of caramel and chocolate and mixed in with the ice cream was the cherry on top. I relished each bite and my palate was more than satisfied once I finished. In addition to the decadent dessert was the stellar service. Our water was always filled and it was a great experience. I'll def be coming back for my future brownie fix! read more

Wow. We went in for one if their last nights as it was my friends favorite place. We went in end of the evening & we ordered a drink. 5min to close our waiter was hurrying us along. At 5min after close he was outright rude & said to basically get out. I understand we were a few min past closing but that behavior was uncalled for. Unfortunately they are closing so they just didnt care. But they do have other restaurants I no longer want to patronize based on this experience. The drinks were mostly good. Strong & tasty but the service left a bad taste. read more

Baileys' is a quaint little spot with a unique romantic vibe. We tried a variety of the dishes on the menu. They started us with some mini chocolate chip cookies. They were overcooked but tasty. The chocolate martini was delicious, and the old fashioned was very unique. We ordered the charcuterie board, which was very good with a great selection of cheeses. The fig jam was delicious. The crab cakes were good, but the roasted red pepper chutney was the Star....so good! The prosciutto flatbread was good, too. We ordered the chocolate inebriation and brownie for dessert. We were not impressed with either dessert. Unfortunately the dessert at a dessert restaurant was not the star. It was a fun experience but wouldn't eat there again. read more

My husband and I went after dinner to continue our date night with drinks and dessert. The bubbly flight was okay, but overshadowed by the chocolate espresso martini - the best I've ever had. It's a very dark and moody restaurant m, perfect for a little romantic night. I will say due to the location in an old building I am not sure how accessible it is, the bathroom is down a steep flight of stairs. read more

We came back to try Baileys again and I can confidently say the individual desserts are much better than the Lovers Plate selection. The Bailey's Brownie was our favorite thing we ordered; it was so rich and delicious. The Hazelnut Torte was also really good. For drinks we ordered the Milk Chocolate Martini and the seasonal Dubai Chocolate drink. The drinks are pretty strong so keep that in mind. Service was good and attentive and we feel that the pricing is fair. The vibe in the restaurant is always excellent, it's the perfect date night spot! read more

Friends night out this past Saturday... Stop #2- Bailey's Chocolate Bar We didn't get any normal desserts so we decided to drink ours!!!! Tiramisu Martini Original Chocolate Martini Grasshopper (and it was not Green) think of a Girl Scout Thin Mint!!! Salted Carmel Martini All were sooo good!!!! We didn't have a favorite because they were alll good They offered some chocolate chip cookies on our table and good news... you can buy them to go soooo that's what I did!!! Yum! The service was Top Notch and the restaurant has such a nice romantic vibe!!! Note: we made a reservation for 730 but was told that we needed to be out by 845??? But then was told that we didn't... Can I give this place 10 stars??? I came here on what was to be my 6 moths with my bf. He left me hanging so I happily went alone. ( chocolate yeah I'm not missing out) I arrived for my reservation, and the space was beautiful and quaint in all the right ways. This was July 2024, some updates In the best ways have occurred. I did two martinis, the flatbread and a dessert. Man oh man was it delicious!! The bartender was newer she was fabulous, with making small talk and her work ethic. So much to like about Bailey's. It's such a quaint location and a cozy environment. I really like the menu. It's a creative hodge-podge of fun favorites. Edamame, garlic fries, and a host of sweets. Much of it is good, but some of the items are just a little off in their execution. For example, the flatbread is super crispy yet the toppings on the caprese are gooey and don't really meld with the bread. Just tastes rather flat than a tangy, spicy taste of tomato and/or basil. The chocolate brownie looks great, is a little on the crunchy side, but is cloyingly sweet. Sugar overpowers what should be a great, chocolaty treat. Could easily cut the sugar in half and probably have a better brownie. Tiramisu almost had the opposite issue. Thick, coarse bread rather than delicate layers really held the tiramisu back. These are just some of the examples. Regardless, we had a fun time here; the food is still good, but could be better with some minor changes to execution. read more
Came in here to end a date night and it was great! I wished I wouldn't have eaten so much at dinner, so that I could have sampled more of their menu. Our server was wonderful and gave us tips about the best items on the menu. We had a great time!! read more
Beileys' chocolate bar is one of my favorite places in St. Louis. The drinks are incredible, the food is delicious. The servers and bartenders are always so kind and knowledgeable about the menu. The ambiance is perfect for a date night with a candle lit and a rose on the table. But, I've gone plenty of times with friends and family. So no pressure if you're not on a romantic date. This is the perfect spot for any occasion. read more
My first time visiting, but definitely not my last! First off, the service was top notch. Quick, attentive, and the details were perfect. We really loved the nice touch of complimentary chocolate chip cookies. This was a post dinner stop so we only got dessert - espresso martini and strawberry sorbet. I went with a group of girlfriends for a much needed hangout session. They've updated the menu again and have gotten back to the focus of desserts and drinks. All the way positive in my opinion. We went for drinks and light snacks. I ordered the salted caramel old fashioned and I was quite pleased with my selection. My friends ordered the signature chocolate martini and the sexual martini. Everyone seemed pleased with their libations. Moving on to snacks. Lin was our server and it felt like maybe one of two servers that night. He did a fantastic job managing the crowd and working with the world's slowest chef. We gave grace considering maybe someone's new and unfamiliar with the menu? Anywho, when we finally got our snacks we were happy with the quality of the food and the taste. It took almost 3 hours for the whole experience. The manager was thoughtful and comped some of our meals. I'll go back no matter what as it's one of my favorite evening hangouts but I hope it moves along better next time. read more

This place has not changed from the last time I been here. It is a nice place to go in order to enjoy a night out. We spent about 40 minutes here since we came at 910pm last night. We ordered martinis and fries for snack. The tiramisu martini was my favorite of tonight drink. The fries were crispy. The cookies were a nice touch. read more

Incredible dessert place! I loved the dessert martinis and cakes. Cake was moist and perfect balance of sweet. We came for dessert celebrating our anniversary that night. The service was great; the staff provided a special seating for the occasion. I booked a reservation online and one prompt asked was for any special occasion. read more

This was my first time visiting Bailey Chocolate Bar, and the staff made the experience exceptional. They were friendly, patient, and genuinely welcoming. You can tell they take pride in what they do, and it made my visit feel special. read more
Always a vibe! I came here after an event with some friends. We arrived in the last hour of service and very thankful for our server being so hospitable and helpful with us. The overall ambiance is so lovely here. It's on the second floor of the brick building, is dimly lit, has small candles and cozy seats. Definitely a great date spot. I ordered the dark chocolate martini and it was fabulous. I love dark chocolate and it really hit the spot. My friend ordered a brownie with ice cream and it was delicious. Always a great dessert stop after dinner. Espresso martinis are amazing and they always have some top tier seasonal dessert options. Ambiance is really nice and relaxing. One thing I do wish is that they had a couple more dinner menu food items or at least some without meat for a one stop experience. read more

No, this is a local family owned restaurant. They own several restaurants in the StL area.
So is it open yet? Are reservations required? Are there any covid protocols I need to know about?
Are they still closed due to water damage? Their website indicates that they are, but the hours here were update two weeks ago.
