I like that I can reserve a table on Opentable & get seated immediately, even though it looked like people were waiting outside. I like the conch fritters, personally. She was not friendly and not attentive to our needs. She would start walking away from the table before we were even finished making a request or say something like "ya'll aight" as she walked past our table but did not stop to hear our response. I think this is like the only Bahama Breeze in the area for miles. It can get really crowded but the service is always consistent. At night time during the week, it is not as crowded and after 10 PM everyday it's half off appetizers! Our waitress was really nice and checked on us often. I had ordered the Spinach dip and chips and the coconut shrimp. It was good. The shrimp was breaded nicely with coconut and had a honey mustard type sauce that came with it. While living in Atlanta back in the mid-90's I had visited Bahama Breeze once (not long after they first opened). I was not impressed. We were in the Atlanta area for a little getaway and I discovered this place was still around. After reading reviews we decided to give it a try. Turned out to be a good choice. It was Saturday night, and they were very busy. We put our name on the wait list (roughly 45 minutes) but then asked about sitting at the patio bar. To our surprise we were able to be seated immediately. That was a great choice, because our bartender / server, Mike, was excellent! Very friendly, helpful and fun. Dinner was very good as well. Last few times I went, service wasn't the best but I decided to give it another try. There was plenty of parking available and there was no wait when I arrived. Everyone was very friendly. This was my first and last time going to Bahama Breeze. The thing with Darden restaurants is that they are usually a hit or a miss and this was definitely a miss. His personality was great, but his waiter skills could use a tiny bit of improvement. He took forever to order everyone's order. After he finally took our order, we had to hand him our menus because he didn't grab them of his own even though the table was clearly cluttered from the appetizer plates, menus, silverware, cups, etc. Fast forward to when the food came out, my order came out wrong. I ordered the coconut shrimp tacos and fish tacos came out. I wouldn't be so upset about except for the fact that I ordered first. Got your mouth watering, huh?? But don't take my word for it, go and try it out for yourself. Their Skillet Simmered Jerk Shrimp appetizer is a dee-licious!!! I now remember why I stopped coming here. 1- sanitation. The bar tender had a lot of dirty glassware. Dumped the liquid and placed them in the rail of the bar upside down. No big deal. But when she cleaned them all she put them right back in the same place as the dirty ones (still upside down) for them to dry with out cleaning the area. The food is good and the service was good, however the behavior of the manger concerned me. Our seats were near the kitchen. I witnessed the manager with his mask off talking to kitchen staff. But it wasn't just that, he was talking extremely loudly and carrying on (to the point he was yelling and laughing, you could hear him across the restaurant), touching his nose and mouth, whilst standing over the food prep area and the CLEAN dishes used for serving food on. I can only imagine the respiratory droplets that were flying. He then grabbed a plate off of the line. Whether it was his personal dish or for a customer, I do not know, but it was disappointing to watch. We were delighted to know that this property was open for dine-in service. We were waited on during our visits by, Porsche, Mercedes, and Paris. All were very polite, professional, and engaging. The service was excellent as were all the dishes we tried. The property was clean and everyone seemed to be in good spirits. I also noticed that the prices were a bit lower than the other locations we've visited, but the overall quality was still the same..a great bonus. Overall my time at Bahama Breeze was not super at all. The Bahamas theme was cool and our waiter was really nice to us! She totally persuaded me to choose a good smoothie and I wanted the option with alcohol. My sister got the virgin edition of the drink because she was gonna drive me home. This is the ridiculous part! The bartender comes to our table, gives us our drinks, and leaves. We had been drinking our smoothies for about 4 minutes and our waiter asked, "Did you two switch drinks?" I said, "No, not at all." She then told us that my sister has been drinking the alcoholic beverage the whole time and I had the virgin version. WHAT? If we didn't know, that would've been horrible. Anyway. The food was ok and pricy. I got the shrimp linguini because of pasta. The Cajun flavors were not that great. The food did not feel like it was the price. My sister also ordered a medium rare steak that looked well done. He best thing I ate here that I recommend to everyone is the beef empanadas. I LOVE them! They were flaky on the outside and moist in the middle. Best thing I ate there. All I will say to conclude is that the staff is very nice, yet unorganized, and beef empanadas are highly recommended. Keep in mind no one has checked on us, asked about our drinks or apologized about the wait time. She finally arrived with our cold dip and stale chips app. 5 mins after that, she brings out our main dishes and they're also luke warm and dried out. I was a bit irate but tried to remain composed as I explained my observations to the manager. They actually brought to go containers. No thank you. Cannot eat it here. Will not take out your trash for you. I was offended. Prior to this visit, I had never had a bad experience at a Bahama Breeze. As a veteran, I've been to quite a few around the country. Lack of people will never excuse this manner of service. The extra star is for the manger, the beer my brother ordered after choking down his extra sweet cocktail and the frozen drink my sister enjoyed. I do not suggest you go here until they are fully manned by happier waitresses. Ours had more time to stare at us standing next to the bar than serve our food in a timely fashion. We saw that as well hun. Didn't want to get you fired mentioning that to the manager, but hoping it will get you better trained for the next table of people you choose to prejudge. I'm a big girl with injuries who eats well and was raised by a 5 star caterer. Hospitality and food service was extremely important in the home. Never assume you know who you are serving. We made a reservation so we were able to get seated pretty fast so I would definitely suggest making a reservation before showing up here.
