Cooked perfectly and very flavorful! I do like a good burger and this one is really good and also a pretty good size. It was a perfect temperature also. Hubby and I visited Bagger Dave's for a late lunch one afternoon. We were seated immediately in a rather large sparsely populated dining room. The waiter immediately asked if we had been there before and explained some of the allure of Bagger Dave's, including the build your own burger menu and the craft sodas. So hubby and I both did just that. We built our own burgers and had some craft soda. The burgers came out cooked perfectly and topped exactly how we asked. All in all, it was a good burger joint. It just lacked that special something that makes you want to go again and again. But I wouldn't refuse a return trip. I just don't know if I'd go out of my way for it. Might be back. Our server was fantastic. The food was good. The reason for the low mark was the bartender and management. I ordered a beer. The keg needed to be changed out and my beer was flat. I went to the bar and explained that my beer was flat and that maybe it was because it was the first pour. The bartender agreed that the beer could be flat because of that and she gave me a new beer, same tap and I brought it back to my table and that one was flat too. Our server asked me if that beer was better and I said it was still flat. She took it (just a sip gone from beer) and I ordered a different kind. Our server returned, explaining that if I got another beer, I would have to pay for one of the 2 flat beers. She said the manager made that decision. Manager never came over to ask questions. We tried this place when it first opened and didn't have any luck. We have tried once or twice and same luck. We decided to try it again. We were wowed! We went on a Sunday afternoon, pre church crowd. There was a nice amount in the seats. We were promptly greeted and sat. Our server was right on our heels. She recommended some drinks and took our order. The burger I ordered was the best burger I have had in a very long time. It was just utter perfection. I ended up wearing some of it home as a souvenir. This was a 3 napkin, melty, warm cheesy goodness. We will be back to see if this was a fluke. I will say, the bar service was great and the beer selection is adequate, always carry the same breweries in my experience e.g. Rhinegeist, Yellow Springs, Bell's, Short's, regardless you can find a beer you will like. The bad: I wanted a snack with my beer, I ordered the onion rings which cost $8.95. I am embarrassed for Bagger Dave's. These were the prototypical frozen rings that you can go to Sam's and Costco and get by the pound for a few bucks. IMO, they need to take these off the menu OR lower the price OR make their own onion rings and charge a respectable $8.95. The appetizers were delicious. We loved everyone of them we tried all four the nachos the chees curds, the fried pickles and the pretzels, and every one of them is very good. We got the all American and the bom cheeseburger and they were good cheeseburgers, considering they weren't a freshly pattied burger seems to me like it was a frozen burger, which isn't a big deal because it was good. We went on a Saturday night with a group of five. We arrived around 6, and were seated about half an hour later. The burgers: We all used the order sheets on the table to create our custom burgers. Three of us ordered beef burgers, one ordered a turkey burger and the gluten-free member of our party ordered the black bean burger as a burger bowl...all of which we demolished. I got a petite-sized beef burger on the sesame bun with bleu cheese, caramelized onions, lettuce and tomato. While the bigger patty gives you an option of choosing "pink" or "no pink," petite patties are only cooked to "no pink." Also, they're served on a regular-sized bun. So, while I was happy with my topping selections, the patty and the sandwich as a whole was kind of dry. I was glad I got bleu cheese dressing on the side for dipping. I probably couldn't (read: shouldn't) finish a full-sized burger, but I might go that route next time just so I can order it medium-well instead of well-done. The fries: As average as the burger turned out to be, the fries could not have been better. They're cut into thick batons with the skin still attached and fried until crisp on the outside but still soft on the inside. Perfectly salted. I'd come back for these fries in a second. Added bonus that I learned from my dining companion: They're also gluten free! The drinks: We had plans to hit the bar after Bagger Dave's so we didn't order alcohol, but the selection looked to be extensive. Wine, domestic beer, cocktails and a good selection of local brews. They also make their own soda and you can order a soda sampler, which comes with a full-sized refill of one soda. One person in our party took advantage of this; highlights of the flight were the (noncarbonated) lemonade and the root beer, which is what he eventually ordered. Finally, the service: This is where Bagger Dave's really starts to fall apart for me. Everything about the service was reactive, as opposed to proactive. When our server brought out our waters, we asked for straws and he said, "Just a sec, I'll be right back with those." When our food came, we had to ask for silverware and again, he said, "Just a sec, I'll be right back with those," while we dealt with monster burgers and greasy fries for a good five minutes without so much as a napkin between us. When we later asked for extra napkins, he gestured at the stack he was carrying and said, "Let me take these where they're going and I'll be right back with some for you." Like, seriously? These are not strange or outrageous requests in the least--it should be standard procedure to drop off silverware and napkins BEFORE the food arrives. Partway through the meal one member of our party mentioned wanting a second order of fries, but our server was MIA until the bills came so that never happened. Also, the person who ordered the soda flight didn't get to request his refill until the bills came so he ended up getting it in a to-go cup. Bills came as loose receipts and there was only one pen to go around. That said, at least it was cheap. About $20 for two burgers with fries and water. This place wouldn't be my first choice for a burger but also I wouldn't flat-out avoid it. The food was decent, came out promptly and was pretty cheap for a specialty burger. And again, those fries. Awesome food, great plating of the food; all around better time than we did last time. We really got into the menu this time, wife and son decided to build their own burger and get a little crazy with some of the ingredients ranging from extra Saucy cheese to eggs and so forth. My daughter got food poisoning from dining in at the Centerville, OH location on 2/14/2022. She shared some of leftovers (mostly smoky Mac & cheese) and I became sick as well. That's bad enough but then to be told by Mike Lichocki from corporate 2/18 (when he finally returned my call) that the manager Percy said the food sat in the car for hours is insult to injury. I told him I too have been Servsafe certified so I wouldn't just try to place blame where it doesn't belong. My daughter and I shouldn't of lost wages from missing work being sick and have medical bills all from patronizing their establishment. Her boyfriend didn't get sick, my daughter did & my experience was only a third of my daughters. Buyer beware! Medical bills, lost wages & the culprit could care less! I emailed corporate while at the emergency room. I notified the restaurant manager Percy and the Health Department. Percy had my name and number taken and stated the General Manager Ryan would call me but that never happened. Perhaps I messed up notifying them first but I didn't want anyone else to get sick. The health department said the cooler holding the lettuce and tomatoes was not at proper holding temperature. Perhaps that is where the mac was and they changed it before they came the next day I don't know. What I now know is they could care less and one of them lied. I told them that's sad but they will reap what they sow so continue on doing wrong by people. I'm covered by the blood of Jesus so I'm blessed no matter what I encounter and this too shall pass! read more

It's been awhile since we've been here, so we decided to check it out on a Friday night. We arrived at 7:30 and glad there was no wait! I like the options here; you can build your own burger or go with a preset sandwich. My husband and daughter got build your own. It's good because you pick all your own toppings and bread. One hit a brioche bun and one got sourdough bread. I got the cheddar sliders and sweet potato fries. I love the sweet potato fries!! Each order also comes with homemade dipping sauces. We had ranch, buffalo and a creamy chipotle sauce that went so well with the sweet potato fries! My wife and I have been regulars here for a while. Our first visit was soon after starting a pretty crazy diet for some food intolerance issues. We explained what we needed to avoid to the staff upon arriving during that first visit, and the manager came out and walked us through the ingredients, how the food is prepared, and offered non-menu items to replace what we couldn't have. If I remember correctly, he had some of the toppings (mushrooms, onions, etc) prepared specially for us. This particular manager (Ryan) has been incredibly friendly and genuine whenever he's seen us in the two years since that first encounter. If my husband and I are craving a good burger, we always go to Bagger Dave's. I swear we have never had bad food or service here! We usually prefer to sit at the bar wherever we go and we always get excellent service from the bartenders! My husband really likes the Great American cheeseburger and I prefer to create my own (I usually do a beef burger with bleu cheese crumbles, garlic aioli and sautéed mushrooms...it sounds weird and it's messy but it's delicious!). They just added pizza to the menu too and while we haven't tried it yet I've heard really great things about it! They make their own sodas and all that I've tried are really delicious. Also, you HAVE to get a side of ranch to dip your fries in! They make their own ranch too and I swear it's the best ranch I've ever had...I love that you automatically get your choice of a dipping sauce side with your order of fries. Checkin was great and I loved the app that shows you where you are in line. Table was fast. 10 minutes with 6 people ahead of us. Overall our service was excellent as well. Very attentive-- drinks fast and out appetizer was out 2 minutes after we ordered it. That was the peak... Everything went off a cliff after that point. The app was boring. I don't even remember what they called it but it was basically a bowl of retried beans with some garnish. Not the Mexican 7 layer thing we expected. Then --- nothing for over an hour. Our server kept checking and the kitchen was having computer problems and had shut down at 7pm on a Saturday. No food coming out at all. For over an hour. We waited a total of 90 minutes (with a 6 and 3 year old) for 1 burger, 1 salad and two kids meals. I truly was hoping when the food finally arrived it would be worth the wait... But it wasn't. The blues burger was average at best. Too much sauce, cheese was not melted at all so obviously not put on the burger while hot. Bun was really good at least. Sweet potatoes chips were soggy and fries were average. The manager comped out meal without asking so they must have known it was a horrible experience. I felt really bad for our server (Michelle) who was great even with the kitchen falling apart around her so we tipped normal anyway. While walking out we both agreed 5-Guys would have been a much better burger. I hate McDonald's and honestly think a McDouble would have been more satisfying. I was forced to just eat the patty which was dry and Luke warm. The server was surprised and I voiced my concern.
