I'm not sure if they always have this sandwich or it's a special, but it was an Asiago bagel with bacon (chopped), sausage (patty), egg, cheddar, salt/pepper, chive cream cheese, butter and avocado. Holy hip hop Batman. I feel like the rest of the details of my visit are a blur, but I have seriously thought about this sandwich probably 50 times since I ate it a few weeks ago. Second time here, but it is my go to for Bagels when on town. Pay for the extra Lox on the bagel you won't be disappointed. The service has been excellent with friendly up beat workers. The store is located on Main and there isn't a real good opportunity for parking so I recommend the side streets. This is a busy store with lots of locals making it their favorite as well. I rarely leave reviews, but this place needs a warning. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE. They genuinely have the worst staff imaginable. Incredible magic trick: i came in around 10:30am, paid for two bagels and tipped ... and then poof, they disappeared! No more bagels of that kind! They were gone! When the basket was half full when I ordered! No product, no full refund, and no apology! Not even the slightest acknowledgement of the inconvenience. I had been sitting there for 20 minutes waiting........ If a business can't provide the basic service of BAGELS and making them in order of who ordered first, that's a serious problem Maybe try ordering enough bagels for your customers! read more

Enjoyed the bagels here twice during my trip to Bozeman to visit my brother. The service was friendly and the bagels were delicious, however the efficiency could be improved if they used a commercial/conveyor toaster for their bagels. I was surprised to see that they have a single two-slice toaster, which for the volume of customers definitely contributed to wait times. Overall, it seems to be local favorite as it was busy both times I visited - and I visited twice - so that tells you something. Definitely worth checking out! Service isn't great. My order was messed up the first time (was given the wrong bagel type) and when I brought it back to the counter the first employee I asked had no idea what to do and then walked away. The second employee that came up swapped it out, but seemed very upset about it and was dramatic about throwing the first bagel away and wouldn't toast the replacement bagel. On top of that, the food wasn't very warm and my entire party was disappointed in the quality of the bagels. The food is good, but the service is awful. I've only been in two times, but both times I found myself watching folks who ordered after me get their food before me. This seems par for the course though after reading past reviews. I've been going to this place on and off for two years, and let me tell you, it's the worst bagel operation you'll ever witness. There's a reason I only come here every couple of months--it's because every experience is truly awful. Now, don't get me wrong; the food is decent, even pretty good, and that's why I keep giving it another chance. But the experience of actually getting the food? That's where the nightmare begins. Let me explain. First, getting your order will take 45-60 minutes. From the moment you walk in to the moment you leave, you're in for a long, painful wait. The operation is abysmal. Second, they refuse to toast the bagels. I mean, refuse. Over the last two years, I always emphasize that I want my bagel toasted, yet it only actually gets toasted about 15% of the time. Today, the employee straight-up told me they can't toast my bagel. What? This is a bagel place! Who even eats an un-toasted bagel? So I left the line, waited again, and asked another employee about toasting. He assured me they could toast it. After waiting 33 minutes for my bagel, it comes out... un-toasted. Now, you might think, "Just mention it to them." But I tried that last time, and the guy told me he'd give me a new toasted bagel--if I transferred the bacon, egg, and cheese myself. Seriously? Why not just make me a fresh sandwich? But no, he didn't. So today, after receiving yet another un-toasted bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich, I decided it was finally time to write my first Yelp review. And if that weren't enough, today I ordered two bagels. They forgot one. I noticed before my order was out, told them, and instead of adding the missing bagel to my original order, they made it a whole new order. So now I had to wait even longer. This place is awful. It's like they go out of their way to be mediocre. In the two years I've been coming here, nothing has improved. This wouldn't be so bad if there were another bagel shop in town, but that's the problem. In Bozeman, Bagel Works has a bagel monopoly, and it's tragic. Theodore Roosevelt broke up monopolies for a reason--they kill competition and quality. But here, in Bozeman, Montana, we're stuck with this one bagel place, and it's terrible. It ruins my day, even my week sometimes, knowing I can't just pop in for a quick bagel. Nope, it's an hour-long ordeal. One day, I'm going to open a bagel place in this town and send Bagel Works out of business. We'll offer excellent customer service and great food. We won't be mediocre in anything we do. And Bagel Works? It'll disappear. The bagel monopoly will be broken. I'll restore order to the bagel world in Bozeman. I'll do it for all of us--those of us who just want a good, toasty bagel without the hassle. Today, the change begins. read more

Someone PLEASE start a new bagel place in Bozeman because I hate having to come back here over and over. But sometimes I just need a quick (haha, jokes on me) bagel fix! Don't think I've EVER received an order that they got right... They are way too optimistic about their estimated times. Which is not a big deal when it's a few minutes, but when you say "ready in 5-10 minutes" and then it takes almost 40 minutes, it gets real old real fast. Maybe just... over estimate so customers are excited instead of pissed every time they leave your shop? This happens so often. Or they'll just forget about your order, like today. And they never offer to make things right... OH! They also allow their employees to come to work in underwear! No one should be working a food service job wearing underwear. We actually came here TWICE on our trip. My parents visited Bozeman last year and told us about it and I'm glad we checked them out. It was close to our hotel so very convenient. Some reviews complained about service. I will say, two visits, and everyone we dealt with were incredibly friendly. If you order a bagel sandwich, you'll wait 5-10 minutes. But if you just get cream cheese you get it faster. The second day, they had six packs of yesterday's bagels for just $2. I have been customer since 1991 when they opened and it has gone down hill in the last few years the bagels are not like a new York bagel any more they are small, soft and flavorless. The last straw was this morning, I called an order in for pickup and was told it was a 30 minute wait, got there is about 20 minutes, checked in to tell them I was here they said my order was in process and should be soon and then the wait began after about 15 minutes I checked in again to see if I might have not heard them call my name, and then I checked in about 10 minutes after that, it was now going on an hour and it was pretty obvious that I had been waiting a long time then an employee asked my name and found my order by now it was cold. First the good: they are the only bagels in town and are actually not bad. Much better than I expected. You can even get them fresh and hot sometimes. The bad is that they too are plagued by staffing issues and as result seem to mostly employ slow, incompetent people. I went the other day and there was no line - yay! Ordered a dozen bagels and cc, and then one egg and cheese bagel for them to make. For reasons they elude me, it took 20 minutes to make the sandwich. No one was in front of me ordering, and there were only a couple people who'd already ordered and were waiting. The place was close to empty. Then the icing on the cake - got home with my 20 minute sandwich, and it turned out that the guy who made it was so lazy that he didn't even wipe off utensils between sandwiches, cos there were bits of cream cheese and chives mixed in with the egg and cheese. Unfortunately, there's no place else you can go! So it is what it is. But I'd happily pay more, in order for you to pay employees more, and then hopefully hire more/better ones. read more
