The food was absolutely amazing! We got a chocolate croissant and a morning muffin. I was wanting to eat the croissant right away and it was so beautiful outside that we went to one of the outdoor tables and sat down to eat it. The lady that was helping us behind the counter was very friendly and as soon as the customer behind us was ready another woman came and she helped them. Even though the croissant wasn't warm it was still absolutely delicious. The chocolate was so rich and had such a strong flavor but at the same time didn't overtake the flavor of the buttery croissant. I would definitely come back here if we're ever in the area and have the time in the future! read more

We stopped at Vienne looking for some bread or buns for sandwiches. The nice lady inside recommended their Ciabatta. Now we have had plenty of Ciabatta before, but this was different. It was light and airy. The outside was just slightly crispy. It was not tough, dense or overly chewy like other Ciabatta that we have previously had. Easily the best Ciabatta that we ever had. So good that after making a few sandwiches with the Ciabatta we purchased, we went back a few days later to get some more. Would love to try more of their products sometime. read more

Solid French pastry shop whose butter croissant rivals Paris. I was recommended because they import their butter from France and I'm a huge croissant girl. Ambiance is modern and service is okay- they forgot about our ham and Brie baguette and it was too crunchy/ slightly burnt. Totally disgusted!!! While we were dining at the bar, we were curiously watching the gals in the kitchen working on recipes and preparing pastry items. And it just so happened while we were watching, one of the ladies rubbed her nose TWICE, and did not wash her hands, and continued to work on the food items. Nor was she wearing gloves. So I spoke to the cashier, and she went back to speak to the manager/owner, and to my surprise, that was who rubbed her nose without washing her hands. She came out with a snobby attitude and came to me "so I hear you have a question". No, I have a huge issue. My family visibly saw you rub your nose, and not wash, nor are you even wearing gloves, as mandated by the health department. Her pathetic excuse: "Well I am very aware of what I do, and I used the back of my hand to rub my nose(which was a lie as we saw her use her thumb and index finger), and as far as not wearing gloves, it creates a false sense of cleanliness. I actually prefer my staff to not wear them" Health department regulations doesn't care about your preference. Clearly she doesnt have any sense of cleanliness, and the fact she didn't even try to apologize, or even offer a discount/refund on our $70 ticket. Like, what??? How was this place nominated for a James Beard??? She had this entitled attitude and like what she did wasn't even a big deal. She handled it very poorly and had a pissy tone towards me when I brought up a serious issue. No resolution, no apology. All I got was a half-assed "I'm sorry to hear that" when I informed her we would never return. Will never be coming back, and will be telling everybody I know to never come here. read more

Stopped by to grab a quick breakfast and it was definitely crowded. But, for a good reason. The pastries and the quiches were delicious. The coffee was also made with real vanilla beans. I had the quiche Lorraine and the kouign amann. They were both incredibly flaky and buttery. read more

One of the best croissants I've ever had in the USA. They come out fresh from the oven at 6:30am. Be there to get it hot and extremely crispy and flaky!!! Regular and ham and cheese croissant here are my faves. They'll also have some beautiful cakes and breakfast sandwiches at various times throughout the day. But the real stars are the croissants. A must visit in Bozeman. read more

Vienne is open for late night! We just moved into the neighborhood and have been looking for a neighborhood spot for drinks and snacks after work. We stopped by Little Star and they didn't have seats until 8:30, so we stopped into Vienne for a drink. Their wine and port selection is excellent (I love French wines and can't find them en masse in Bozeman, but Vienne has a great menu!), and their charcuterie and cheese selection is varied and has more meats than other charcuteries in town. We wanted to stop in after dinner too as their chocolate flan looked epic, but it was a little past our bedtime. This place has excellent desserts too, and is filling a nice little niche in Bozeman (the after dinner drink and dessert spot). Looking forward to coming back! read more

Definitely the best Croissant. The owner is classically trained chef from Codon Bleu and trained the croissant baker. A few random customers agreed it was as good if not better than Paris. At least 54 layers with a beautiful rise and perfectly flaky. Coffee was very good too. They do run out of things early but it just means they are making them all by hand in limited batches. Next time I go I want to try the sandwiches and sew how they hold up for a hike! The king is dead, long live the new king. This is currently the best bakery in Bozeman, no debate. Sweets, quiche and a variety of loaves are all exceptional. They also do an excellent job with their expressos. I have had a few of their sandwich offerings and they are the best in terms of taste and quality of ingredients in the valley. There are also small items that exceed the normal expectations like fresh flavored ice water with rotating flavors. Great service with active engagement from the proprietor. Honestly the best pastries in Bozeman. The owner studied in France and someone who has had French pastries in France it did not disappoint. We got an Eclair, Turkey croissant sandwich, chocolate almond and pain au chocolate. Everything was buttery and had a perfect amount of chocolate per pastry. Small eating area making it quaint and they had incredible coffee as well! Also there is windows looking into the bakery so you can see all the workers prepping the pastries which was so cool! Lastly the girl who took our order was super sweet and inviting. Definitely will be back! read more
