I would have given this place 5 stars but the noise level here is WAY TOO LOUD. Their drink machines hammering in the backround, loud music and people talking makes the place VERY noisy. Besides that the food is great. I had the fried eggplant parmesan panini with salad and watermelon lemonade. They special ordered my panini and made it with no parmesan, just mozzarella which I appreciated. The portion was big. It had lots of mozzarella cheese and the eggplant was great. One criticism on their food though. The salad dressing,they said it was "oil and vinegar". It tasted like watered down oil. It was awful. The staff is friendly. The drinks are made fresh. Service so bad it's comical. They get my order wrong every single time. Like every time, and it's not complicated. Bagel with butter. Best bagels in park slope hands down I have gone to every bagel store in the greenwood/park slope area that I could but bagel pub has the best ones. They have great breakfast sandwiches my personal favorite is the jump start, and the coffee is very good as well. I want to give 5 stars and if I could give halves I would give 4 1/2 it's just the layout of the store that is an issue. It is a very very busy location and for good reasons but it can be hectic in the early a.m. because it gets so crowded the good thing is that the staff is very friendly and they try everything possible to get your order to you as quick as possible. I go to Bagel Pub a LOT - they are the best bagel place in Park Slope AND Gowanus, in my opinion. And I am very, very picky about my bagels (I grew up in western Long Island, where bagels are taken very seriously). Great crust, even better toasted - my rec is the wholewheat everything. Plus, I love that they have a nice back garden. However, two things bug me about this place: no prices are listed for beverages, which makes it hard to make good choices from an economic perspective (still have no clue if their excellent cold brew iced coffee is any more or less than regular, for example), and they are extremely inconsistent when it comes to the amount of cream cheese on the bagel. I need a proper shmear, please. Yesterday I got a bagel that had maybe a third of a shmear, ie, about 1/4" worth of cream cheese. Come on! These are the basics. Okay, rant over. In May 2012 I wrote a review for Bagel Pub, as several recent experiences at the time compelled me to let the world know how great Bagel Pub was. Now, 4.5 years later, Bagel Pub has gotten the recognition it deserves from customers and rankings. Over these past four years, Bagel Pub has grown, been through several remodels, and expanded offerings. Yet still, at the heart of the matter, they have the best d*mn bagels in my neighborhood, and now the best d*mn bagels in Prospect Heights as well. Service is still excellent, the folks still friendly, and the food keeps me coming back at least once a week. It's like a bad habit that's actually a good one though I know it's not great for the bagel around my waist. Oh well. If you're looking for a bagel joint where people smile when you order, not one where you get shouted down for ordering a toasted bagel, then hit Bagel Pub up. Or if you want a smoothie. One of the perks of living in NY is that our bagels are famous for being better than anywhere else. Sometimes people say a bad NY bagel is still better than the "best" of other places...maybe not always true, but Bagel Pub's bagels are far better than many others I've tasted and I will gladly return to get my fill! My husband is a faithful La Bagel Delight customer, but he and I were both happy a bagel place opened within walking distance from our home. It can be a little bit of a trek to walk to Bagel Delight, and we usually only pop in when we happen to already be in the area in a car. Although my husband says that he still likes Bagel Delight just a bit more, he was more than pleased with the quality of Bagel Pub. I actually did not find any major difference in quality and loved the taste and texture of Bagel Pub bagels. They had a great balance of soft inside but crisp outside without requiring 5 minutes of chewing through each bite. I went early, around 7am. I ordered a toasted salt bagel with butter and toasted onion bagel with cream cheese and tomato for my husband. I ordered a sesame bagel and blueberry cream cheese for myself. Because I was still a little groggy from being up since 6, I was slow on my order--but the man working behind the counter was not only patient but friendly and told me to take my time. He took care of each order perfectly, properly labeled which bagel was which, and didn't skimp on the cream cheeses or butter. My husband devoured his bagels, and my blueberry cream cheese hit the spot for my pregnancy cravings for something cheesy but sweet. It was a very satisfying, warm, delicious breakfast. I also ordered 4 bagels to take home whole--plain, salt, onion, sesame. We had the salt and plain ones this morning. They still tasted fresh and weren't stale at all. They toasted up nicely and were again a great treat. The space itself is clean and inviting. There are plenty of tables to sit and enjoy your bagel if you have time. They offer fresh squeezed juices, some other pastries, and lunch foods. I'm interested in trying those soon. I'm also appreciative that they deliver! Walking is becoming more difficult as the pregnancy progresses (okay...I'm lazy), so having that option is a plus. Once I try more of the offerings at different times of day, I may upgrade the score to 5 stars. For now, a very enthusiastic 4 stars! UPDATE: Had a few more lunch and breakfast items, and I'm a solid fan. I hope Bagel Pub stays around for years! read more

I love to check out the different bagel places in the neighborhoods surrounding where I live. On a Saturday morning I decided to go for a run. The main motivation for doing so was to treat myself to a bagel afterwards. I entered the store around 8:30 on a Saturday and the place had only a handful of people. I ordered a whole wheat everything bagel with cinnamon raisin cream cheese. This has become my standard order for rating bagel places. However, I cannot lie I wrestled in my head for a few minutes whether or not I should order the avocado,bacon and egg bagel sandwich. The cream cheese vote won marginally and I contently sat in the covered outdoor area enjoying every bite. The coffee was strong and delicious as well. My Saturday morning was started off right thanks to Bagel Pub. Great place to grab a bagel if you are near Prospect Park. Will definitely come back and try a bagel sandwich next time. read more

You have to order smoothies and bagel at separate counters, which means you have to wait in line twice at different places in the store to order and then again to receive your food. Delicious bagels, smoothies, and treats! I love the vibe in this place and they have a decent amount of seating. My only issue was that the second time i visited bagel pub there was an issue with where to stand in line. I came in to just order a drink and i was waiting to be helped standing right in front of the register and the cashier/barissta started helping people before me and then once i placed my order I received my order a good 5 minutes after people who ordered after me. Customer service is not a high priority here. My wife and I were trying something new and we will NEVER be back! There were 4 customers and 9 workers at 2:00 in the afternoon. We tried asking about the chicken salad sandwich and Christian or Tristen didnt make eye contact and acted as if we were an inconvenience to his day. I cant tell you his correct name because people were giving different answers when we asked because he was so rude. The manager on duty has no regard for customer service or someone having a negative experience at her restaurant. The attitude of the employees clearly reflects the attitude of the management. We settled on a burger and the sandwich with fries. We sat on the patio in the back waiting for our food. Multiple employees saw us sitting in the back. No one thought to let us know that our food had been sitting at the register in to go containers for over ten minutes. When I walked up to check on our food the same guy said they'd been yelling for us for over ten minutes. It took 3 people just to take my cash payment. I've never experienced incompetence at this level. Because the food sat for over 10 minutes the bun and fries were soggy and the burger was well done when it was supposed to be medium. The food was over priced for the service and quality. How this place is still open is beyond me. We wont be back and I'd recommend you go to the McDonald's next door if you're that hungry. Responding to Lauren K: The fact is that no one used cursory language. If you were not there today your staff lied to you to make themselves look better, which happens. At the end of the day all of you look incompetent. The first free piece of advice for you and your staff in this industry is not to escalate an issue with a guest. Miscommunication or a misunderstanding occurred and no one on your staff acknowledged that. This is interpreted as your staff being lazy and having an attitude. The fact that your tall male employee that no one knows the name of when asked responded to questions the way that he did was not acceptable. How does your staff not know other employees names? They know his name, please don't waste anyone's time by trying to deny that fact. They're trying to cover names and in life that comes off as shady. As a service industry employee, on the down low I know what it was and dont need to describe it here. You also know what it is. At no time was table service described but neither was calling orders out. The fact is too many employees saw us on the patio and they disregarded the fact that we were there waiting for food. Its disrespectful as a guest. The end result was our food was poorly executed and our view of your customer service went down. I've been in the restaurant industry for most of the last 24 years and your idea of customer service is lower than Taco Bell. The fact that you would respond on Yelp the way that you did further shows your lack of customer service. Your staff and yourself think that this industry is easy when it's not. You cant have the attitude that they showed and continue to stay open. There's an 85% failure rate and I know you'll be in that 85% if you don't make positive attitude changes. Look at other reviews that point that out. Your staff doesn't even know each others names or they think it's ok to try to give false names. Either way we won't be back and neither should anyone else until positive changes are made. read more

I wound up eating mozzarella, balsamic soaked bread, and a little prosciutto for lunch. I wrote my initial review and the owner contact me right away apologizing. Bagel Pub opened about the time I moved to the neighborhood just about three years ago now, and I have watched with pleasure as it has turned into a neighborhood institution. I enjoy Bagel Pub almost every weekend, and I have never been disappointed. Bagel Pub cooks some of the most delicious bagels in the city, and they have great egg sandwich and cream cheese options, as well. Also - the fresh squeezed juices are delicious! If you're there for lunch, the sandwiches (either on a bagel or a roll) are made with fresh ingredients and are very filling! The service is very reliable, and all of the folks behind the counter are friendly and helpful. Though it can get crowded on weekend mornings, the line moves pretty quickly and they work hard to get your food ready as quickly as possible. Disappointing! Nine bucks for a tuna bagel... super watery tomatoes; spicy tuna was so spicy that jalapeño was all I could taste, and the soggy pickle tasted bizarrely of cinnamon. Also (this feels like the Woody Allen joke about bad food/ small portions) the bagel was surprisingly, uh, petite. The pricing was pretty opaque (nothing on the walls, and even if you get a menu most toppings aren't listed) which added to my sense of being taken for a ride. I will say, the guy taking orders was very pleasant. But not enough to rescue this review, sadly. read more

Very inconsistent, which is unfortunate, because the product is good. 50% of the time my order is wrong even when the ticket is correct (scoop the bagel, toasted well). My experience today just sucked. The girl at the register was treating every customer like a number not even saying hi. She acted annoyed and impatient. You can be productive and a pleasant person at the same time... being greeted by someone who treats you like a hassle first thing in the morning is a very unpleasant way to start your day. read more
