My partner and I used to come quite a bit. However, we recently ordered online and when we received the order, half of it was missing. When we reached out, they implied that the delivery person removed it from the bag and refused to reimburse us. I resent that they blamed the delivery person (especially when we received the order, it was stapled shut). While I like the bagels, if you have issues, there is no recourse (beware to anyone ordering online!). And I don't think it speaks well to the character of the business when they falsely accuse the delivery person. It seems to me they simply forgot half the order, but don't want to own up to it. Discount Code Not Honored ** Edit** In regards to Lauren K's response. I did make the mistake of writing GrubHub instead of ChowNow, but everything else is correct. I used their app (also their website) and when I called customer service, the agent contacted the restaurant and they refused to honor it accusing me of using it previously. I have attached a photo of my 37 minute call to ChowNow's customer service center attempting to get this discount code honored. I have been using Bagel Pub's app for over a year and I've been receiving discount codes monthly from them because of it. Today, when I tried to use the code it didn't work (I had not used it this month), I spent a half hour with GrubHub (who their app goes through) to see what the problem was. I struggle with ordering from this place. In fairness their items are typically good, worthy of 3-4 stars but their service is really lacking. About half the time I order from this location something is missing or wrong. Weekends are a test on your patience...it took 2 hours for my delivery which is about 8 blocks from the restaurant. When the order arrived, the dressing for the salad had spilled all over everything inside (not sure how being that it was still wrapped in about 10 feet of plastic), and there was an item missing. They did resend the missing item but this is a pretty typical occurrence. Their location on 7th Ave is generally better in terms of accuracy and delivers in Crown heights so I'd suggest trying that location but expect a long wait and order early. I generally opt for the chipotle lox, as it is the perfect balance of smokiness, spice and salt. ABC (avocado bacon cheddar) is another breakfast sandwich that never disappoints. There are also several lunch options; I find the cranberry apple chicken salad to be delicious on their rolls. Although most of the sandwiches are fairly priced, bagels are on the higher side, usually ~$5 with cream cheese. It is generally very busy on weekend mornings, but the line moves fast. Service is ok-It's not really an intimate/cozy coffee shop where you can relax on a weekend morning, as it tends to be busy with limited seating and pick-up at the counter, but if looking for fresh bagels, this should hit the spot. read more

From the initial opening of this location, I've been a loyal patron. The bagels are amazing and I love that I can pick up a bag of my favorite Kobricks Coffees. The place is always nice and clean and the customer service experiences were excellent. However, my experience this morning was not a good one. I ordered my a pastrami lox bagel and two bags of Kobricks Coffee and I asked the young lady assisting the cashier to grind them for me. While the grinder was running, she walked away from it to make a cup of coffee for a gentleman that was waiting for his orders come up. While doing so, the ground coffee overfilled the container and spilled over the sides and onto the grinder's base and counter. The young lady didn't realize that I was observing this. she returned to the coffee grinder and began to take the spilled coffee into her hands and too it in the garbage. So I asked her " Are you going to replace the coffee that was spilled?" she the asked me to hand her another bag. I assumed that she was going to finish filling up the container but once I got home and took the containers out the bag I noticed one of the smaller containers was very short. As a regular, I know that when they grind one bag of coffee, I'll get one tall container and one short container filled to the top.. To top this off, she seemed to be annoyed that I asked her to replace the coffee she had thrown away after it spilled. Now come on, you don't mess with the Kobricks Coffee and then get an attitude when a customer requests to be given all of the product that they are being charged for. Social distancing was slightly difficult as you need to wait inside between ordering and receiving your food, so definitely recommend ordering online/in advance (they even have a rewards app). Customer service was good, definitely not warm but I didn't have a bad experience either. I really was just craving a lox bagel so I ordered the Fresh Lox #1 and it was perfect. I'm no bagel expert so take this with a grain of salt, but I found the ratio of lox to tomato, cream cheese, and capers to be perfect (iced coffee is great too). I'd say it's slightly on the pricier side, but I'm also a 23 y/o so everything seems that way to me :) Will need to stop by more frequently for a better gauge at the overall experience, but it seems to be a reliable and popular spot in the neighborhood. read more
