Got the fried chicken with a bowl of rice on the side and pork belly bowl.
Jane R.

Yummy food for great price! Finally got to try this place, it's always packed whenever we pass by it. I can see why. It's so flavorful and probably one of the cheapest meals I've had for such a yummy rice plate. I'm looking forward to trying their other menu items. Highly recommend and will got back again! Note, it's nothing fancy. It's simply really yummy and filling for the price point.

Beef noodle soup- one of the better ones we've had in US

This is the first Ba Fang restaurant I've tried in California 6 months ago. They have since opened a restaurant in Santa Clara, which is closer to me in Silicon Valley. This time we came back to San Diego, we brought our college kid here. He enjoyed it too! We recommend their beef noodle soup (it's big and shareable) and their combo #2. I grew up in Taiwan and just love corn soup. The only con for this restaurant is that it's a bit out of the way from the highways. It's not easy to get to from the universities near by.

We came in on a Saturday afternoon and it was not overly busy, we were told to order using the tablet. We ordered an order of their signature potstickers, spicy noodles bowl, and their pork chop with pork belly rice. Overall not really impressed with the service, as it over 30 minutes to get our food. Consistently the employees kept disappearing, we saw 3 employees working in the kitchen, where one was always using her food as she was handling the food. Not sure if she washed her hands after each time she used her phone, yuck. Also the food was ok, I was expecting more, but it was served lukewarm as like it sat there for a while. So worth trying, maybe you'll get better service than we did.

#2 signature potstickers and wonton soup

Super clean, great service, and huge portions. The wonton soup was the best I have ever had in the US.

Was excited to finally try Bafang San Diego. Place is clean and bright, menu well labeled, seating is ample. Food, personally felt a little bland. As a Taiwanese American, I was expected a little more. Beef noodle soup for $17.50 the size is pretty large, 4-5 large pieces of beef but under-seasoned. Broth was ok, not enough depth of flavor a the noodles were slightly overcooked. Potstickers were basic, skin was not as crispy and the filling's flavors were in the bland side, but the seasoned soy sauce was a little too salty. The $10 pork chop bento actually had great flavor on the rice and braised pork belly. The pork chop had good flavor but texture was not snappy enough. Wonton soup broth was actually well seasoned and the wonton were very tasty. Not much service, you pick up your own order and find own seating. Need to wipe down your own tables. Overall I might come back for the wonton soup and pork chip rice.

6 piece signature potstickers

I've tried this place a few times and I really like their signature potstickers with pork and cabbage. They have good flavor and I like the crispy finish. The last time I went they had a picture of the pork chop bowl with braised pork belly rice on the window. My friend and I thought it looked good so we both decided to try it. The pork chop was battered and tender. The rice was really flavorful. Definitely, a dish I would have again. Here's my issue with the restaurant..the few times I have eaten here, the tables are dirty. If you sit at a table, you have to clean it yourself. I also have never witnessed an employee actively cleaning. The water and sauce area is also very dirty. Sauce everywhere. I would feel much better about this restaurant if it were cleaner in general.

Combo 4: signature noodles, and 6 Signature Potstickers

Dumplings on the go at reasonable prices? Yes please! Originally, we had planned on going to elsewhere, but since they closed at 2PM, we ended up searching "Asian Food" on Yelp...what popped up first on my search was Bafang Dumpling. I wouldn't exactly compare it to Din Tai Fung, however, if you have a hankering for quick, inexpensive Taiwanese food, this is the spot for you. The girl that rang us up was a bit dismissive and rude, probably a high schooler. But I digress. What mattered most was the food at that point since we were starving. And it did not disappoint. I decided on Combo 4: 6 piece Signature Potstickers and Signature Noodles. The noodles had a spicy kick and were cooked well. The crispness of the potstickers was delightful and my favorite part of the meal. It was quite filling and I only ate about half of the noodle bowl before passing it on to the co-habby to finish up for me. Quite tasty, especially for just under $14 for this meal. The co-habby got a $10 bowl which had Pork Chop with Braised Pork Belly over rice. He said it was decent but preferred my combo over his bowl. The menu is simple and solid. We will definitely return there for lunch or dinner the next time we are in Mira Mesa.

Bafang Dumpling is a Taiwanese restaurant chain that has made its way to San Diego! I'm so glad they did. There's nothing more comforting than some noodles and dumplings. This fast casual style restaurant is very clean and spacious. There is plenty of space to enjoy your meal and they have a bunch of sauces in the back available whether you're dining in or taking out. They have digital ordering boards or you can order at the counter. I got the sesame noodles and dumplings. They have dumplings and potstickers, but I wanted soft dumplings. I was very impressed by the food. It was really good! You can purchase frozen dumpling bags to go if you'd like to make these at home!

Bafang Dumpling is a Taiwan-based dumpling company 八方雲集 (Bafang Yunji) serving soups, dumplings, potstickers, rice, and noodle dishes. AMBIANCE Bright, spacious, modern casual SERVICE Customers order at counter, take a buzzer, and pick up their orders when buzzed FOOD 5/5 Pork Chop w/ (Braised) Pork Belly (over) Rice: A tender chop full of flavor and served with pickled vegetables 3/5 Kimchi & Pork Dumplings: kind of a wild card with a chunky texture that didn't taste quite like kimchi, which deserves to be kept cold unless it's in jjigae PARKING Plentiful in the lot

Great food and packaging and efficient service. We ordered take out from here and got the bafang signature noodle, 12 signature potstickers, 12 signature dumplings, and the Taiwanese beef noodle soup for a total of $53.29. The pick up was smooth and it came in a good quality and spacious bag that fit everything well and made carrying all that food easy. My favorite was the taiwnese beef noodle soup - it was so good, with daikon packed with flavor and super tender beef. Excited to come back to get this. The potstickers and dumplings were also delicious - though I don't know if I'd get 12 of each again since they seem to be similar fillings. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the signature noodle dish and it was more because I don't really like the nutty type of sauce (more of a preference). I'd recommend checking this place out for sure! Tasted good as a leftover too!

Bafang Dumpling reminds me of authentic Taiwanese noodles, beef and potstickers! The spicy noodles were just the right amount chili oil in our noodle soup! The service is great and friendly! There is a self service kiosk for fast ordering during lunch time rush hour! It was thoughtful by the company to have most foods packaged in Togo containers in case you cannot finish your meal. We tried a little of everything. We ordered Kimchi dumplings, Spicy Wontons, Bafang Signature Potstickers, Beef Dry Noodle Soup, and Mala Spicy Beef Noodle Soup. The only non authentic dish was the Kimchi Dumplings that were flavorful however not a particular favorite. Ambiance is very clean and tables were wiped down by staff after every party. When you're finished with your meal, take your tray to the back central conveyor belts for cleaning.

Came here around lunch time. It was pretty busy! That just shows how good their food is. I actually didn't eat here, my parents did and I did try some of their food and it was very taste and flavorful! I like how they have a water station as well as a self serve station for their condiments - soy sauce, chili oil, vinegar, and utensils. As I mentioned they were busy around lunch time, so my family and I sat in the "bar style " seating in the back.

I didn't want to try this place as one sister and cousin said they didn't like it. We are all beef noodle soup fans. Then another sister said the beef noodle soup was pretty good here as well as their dumplings. I've visited this location a few times now and have been happy overall. The BNS servings (for to go orders) are generous, well packaged, and freshly made. The mala version is also spicy enough for heat enthusiasts out there. Their online ordering system is well done except you can't make additional requests (extra pickled veggies, etc). However, you are able to ask them for it when you pick up your order (I guess depending on who's working the front that day). Luckily, the staff has always been pretty cool when we've picked up our orders. The beef noodle soup broth is decent - not as rich and umami but enough flavor where it satisfies a BNS-fix. There's not that much meat (maybe 4 pieces) and the pieces are a nice size. Not too tender but more of a chew. The pork chop rice was ok. One time the pork chop was dry and not good at all. The second visit we ordered the bowl and it was awesome. The minced pork meat (on top of rice) was amazing but not enough of it. The pork chop this time was moist and flavorful. They also have a promo now where you get a free order of dumplings with a $50 gift card. So take advantage of that for sure. I also bought sis two orders of their frozen dumpling bags and she enjoyed them (don't forget to ask them for the punch card for the frozen dumplings as you get a free bag i think after a certain amount).

I'm surprised some people could sit down and work/study successfully. Note: I had a positive experience last time getting a blended drink, but today I felt like trying their Thai Tea (not blended) and two Korean Corn Dogs. I ordered the hot Cheeto one with cheese and sausage. Did not wind up receiving the hot Cheeto one. Got a regular one with all cheese, no sausage. Partner got a potato one with cheese and sausage, but only 25% of the filling was sausage. We ate them anyways and wanted to leave it at that since the parking was so difficult. Then my stomach started gurgling in a very wrong way. I don't know if something went wrong with the Thai tea (was the milk they used expired?), or with my Korean corn dog possibly being prepared wrong with a new hire, but my body rejected it violently once I got home. I'd be very cautious about coming back here. Most likely won't. Couldn't finish my Thai Tea. Had to throw it out. I'm hoping this was just an unfortunate one time thing, because it seems like people for the most part have a good experience from their food and drinks. This is my third ever time visiting Urban Bubble. The past two visits were for blended drinks and they were great! The girl working the cash register on the evening of 4/24 around 8:00PM was really helpful with suggesting recommendations and did great. I don't know who prepared my food and drink but maybe they need extra training, heads up. If you order food, I suggest that you check the food before leaving the building instead of trusting that it was correct and finding out once you've already left.

Might consider updating this review if I ever come back with friends some point in the distant future after I've had a long enough break from this visit. I was deeply disappointed by my first visit here. Was in the area waiting to pick up someone after their appointment and needed to kill time. Loved the decor and chess set that was already set up at a table. I wound up occupying myself for 2 hours. This looks like a great hang out spot with friends. And like they have a lot of offerings. Even so, I got the strawberry smoothie because it's a safe choice for me when trying new places. I couldn't even finish a quarter of this drink. It didn't taste like strawberry at all. It tasted like syrupy artificial stuff one would usually order for kids. I came at a slow time and figured, maybe if I asked them to remake my drink in another smoothie flavor, it wouldn't be too much trouble since there were no other customers in the store at all. I came up to the lady who took my order and told her "I'm sorry, I don't like my drink. Is it alright if you make me another drink please?" Usually, most boba places oblige because they want you to try the menu to find the drink you really like so you can become a regular customer. She said oh! No problem, then proceeded to ring me up as if I was placing a brand new order. I was confused. I told her no, I'm asking you to replace this one that I'm having trouble enjoying. She just shrinked and said nooooooo sorryyyyyyy That's disappointing. I paid and tipped for this drink for nothing. Had to throw it away because it was giving me too many sensory issues. I walked away deciding to never come back. Trader Joe's lets you go back to exchange or get a refund if you try one of their products that you don't like. Tapioca Express has obliged this drink replacement request before. Happy Lemon has obliged before. Quickly employees have obliged before. Yun Tea lets you sample drinks so you don't wind up in this situation. I literally was the only customer in the store. There was no line. There was nobody waiting to place an order. And the answer was just no. I suggest making samples every now and then for customers to try before they buy whenever you can. And consider remaking drinks at no cost if a customer really does not like their drink. Customer retention is important. And this was an easy ask to accommodate. I'm unsure how good the rest of the menu was, but this first time experience literally and physically left a bad taste in my mouth. Highly advise that people avoid the strawberry smoothie and get anything else on the menu. Because if you don't like your drink, you're shit out of luck. Make your choice carefully. The soft serve was great! They only had vanilla at the time though. Out of the other flavors. Parking was easy thankfully.
