Was really good. The place is spacious, quiet. Different options to choose from. The drink i got was very refreshing doesnt taste as much like green tea which is what i wanted it was perfect. Would definitely come again. Worth the price too. Service you order thru their ipad at the front. Was fast too.
I believe Happy Lemon's Convoy District shop was the OG location of this bubble tea franchise in SD County. The chain now has a presence in at least eight different communities across the county. My latest visit came at a good time in the afternoon as I detest the tiny parking lot that was shared across half a dozen businesses in the plaza. There's additional parking in the back, but it's a crapshoot for open spaces. The suite seemed larger than I remembered, but it has been a few years since I stopped in. Only one customer was present, but not long after I arrived, several more groups came through the doors. As noted by its name, the business is known for its Lemon Series drinks along with the Salted Cheese varieties. I wasn't a fan of the latter so I didn't select one of those choices this time. Bubble waffles were available on the menu, and I didn't recall those offerings in the past. My pick was a Freshly Squeezed Lemon Honey Green Tea from the above series. It could be prepared hot or cold as a 20 oz serving for $7 which seems to be par nowadays. I opted for the latter with less ice, regular sugar, and boba pearls. I took a sip after logging into the free WiFi signal. There was a bit of a pucker factor from the lemon flavor but after the initial taste, my palate got accustomed. The pearls were not cooked well enough as they were chewy. I gave a rating between three and four stars for this visit to Happy Lemon.
Happy Lemon has my favorite Taro Milk tea. The taro is very flavorful and has just the right amount of sweetness. I like to add boba to this drink for extra texture. The staff is very friendly and efficient. Please note that you will have to use a tablet to order you drinks, but it is easy to use. Also, there is plenty of seating inside, but parking can be difficult like everything on Convoy. Cool spot and recommend you come and try Happy Lemon.
Service great, spacious inside, cute name and decent drinks. Average price drink and tastes well enough. My avocado smoothie no sugar tasted like how its supposed to taste. Lmao! Plenty of parking here!
Love this place! I always get the same thing. The staff are friendly & quick. The inside is cozy and nice to sit and hang out while drinking your boba. The only thing I dislike is parking as it is always full due to be a shopping center with different establishments. Aside from that. i always come back!

They have this app that you ask them to scan every time you get your drink and with it, you can earn a few points towards getting your free drinks, So far that works perfectly for us since we are always getting drinks here. My son and his friends kept trying different drinks here, but my wife and I always stick with Avocado & Passion Fruit drinks either with Boba or Lychee. The drinks here are pretty good, they look overly sweet but they are not, they just have the right amount of sweetness and they are very addictive drinks. Some days this place is so packed and some are not, mostly the weekend nights are the busiest. Parking-wise, I always knocked on the windows of those who abusively used the handicapped parking without a handicapped placard, either those online delivery people who picked up the food or the Happy Lemon customers whose reason was that they would be quick to grab their drinks. So far Happy Lemon is always our Place to go when it comes to good Fruity drinks.

This place is so delicious. I get the same thing almost every time- the Oreo milk tea w/ boba w/ puff cream. It never disappoints, and is most enjoyable (in my opinion) after a meal at a restaurant nearby. Spacious on the inside (including seating) and even though there's almost always a line (rightfully so) the employees are quick and attentive and I never wait longer than 5-10 minutes to get my order. Can't wait to be back!

My friend took me here to try their cheese bubble waffle. It was SO GOOD!! It has a perfect balance of sweet and savory, soft and crunchy. I also ordered a strawberry lemonade, which I loved because it wasn't super sour. The place is also beautiful decorated, really modern. Service was ok. I will be back for that cheese waffle!!

We stopped by around 10:00 pm and at that time, the parking, which is normally hectic, now had plenty of available spots. The place opens daily at 11:00 am and usually closes at 11:00 PM, except for Friday and Saturday when it stays open until midnight. We ordered the green tea with lychee and iced brown sugar. The drink was well blended, smooth and the sweetness was balanced. Overall, we enjoyed the refreshing experience.
I love the bubble waffle! Not too sweet and I love that it's a mix of crunchy and chewy mochi texture. Very classic and pairs so well with any drink. Service is good! You can self order from the kiosk. Ambiance is casual. A good place to study and hangout. read more

This review is purely for the Pandan Mango Sago drink which was a Summer Special. I love everything in the title of the drink, I absolutely love pandan flavored things, I love Mango Sago and I usually order it at any spot that has it... But together this was not very good which was super disappointing :0( it was a miss for me, but luckily I also got my boyfriend a Lemon Black Tea and that was solid. I LOVE happy lemon! It always hits the spot as a sweet treat, after having dinner in convoy. This place can get busy on Friday/saturday nights. Lots of young people hanging out here, but it's a chill vibe! Everything we have tried here is delicious & it always smells sooo good inside! read more
We came back and had a much better experience here when there are no crazy lines :) trick is to come on weekdays and during off peak hours :p Anyways, we placed our drinks, we got the milk tea with oreo cookies and puff creams and the strawberry green tea with salted cheese, and of course we added the oreo chocolate puffle. The line wasn't as crazy and the establishment were not so packed that we had trouble finding seats. The drinks and the puffle came out at the same time so we were able to enjoy them together. The ambiance was good, music was played, we were able to find seats no problem, enjoyed our drinks and snacks, though I'm not sure if they regularly clean and wipe down the tables since there are some spots that are sticky. read more
MY FAVE BOBA SPOT IN SD! I've been coming here for years and they are SO CONSISTENT. Their jasmine green tea with salted cheese is the best. I typically order a medium, less ice, normal sugar, no toppings. I've tried the same drink at other places but I always find myself back here. It's the perfect amount of sweetness for someone without a sweet tooth. In addition, their original bubble waffle is delicious! The crunchiness is so satisfying. It's great to snack on alongside a drink or even alone :-) Definitely add to your list! TIP: Parking can be a lil difficult to find as they only have a few spaces but there's extra parking in the back & you can street park. read more

Found this place in the same plaza as the KBBQ spot we had a late night dinner at and we ran over here 15 minutes before their closing time (thank you thank you for still taking our drink orders!!). We were craving drinks to help wash down our heavy meal and Happy Lemon definitely came to our rescue. We got the Iced Yakult Lemon Jasmine Green Tea (50% sugar) & Iced Milk Tea with Oreo Cookies and Puff Cream (30% sugar). Iced Yakult Lemon Jasmine Green Tea: I love yakult drinks and this one was yummy! I got 50% sugar, though it was still a bit too sweet for me. It reminded me of juice box Chinese lemonades. I still enjoyed this drink regardless. Iced Milk Tea with Oreo & Puff Cream: This was a solid drink. We got 30% sugar and probably would've been better with at least 50% sugar because the milk does overpower most of the sweetness from the oreos. This Happy Lemon location is extremely spacious, with plenty of seating available and two public bathrooms for customers to use! The staff was also kind and helpful. Would come here again! read more
We snuck in here with about 15 min left of their business day. Sorry about that but the staff took our order and was super nice and helpful on making a decision. The lady got the yakult lemon jasmine green tea which she thoroughly enjoyed. It had a nice cool tartness to it and felt refreshing. I got my iced oreo milk tea with puff cream. I should have gotten 50% sugar but i opted for 30%. It definitely would have been better tasting with 50% but worse for my health haha. Both were enjoyable the space was large with ample seating and clean restrooms. The AC was blasting and it was a bit chilly tho but we got our drinks and left so that the staff can close up and go home! read more
I love Happy Lemon! I only come for the Strawberry Black Iced Tea with Cheese Foam--it's absolutely delicious. Happy Lemon has my favorite cheese foam of any tea shop. In my opinion, the black tea pairs better with the cheese foam than the green tea option. The strawberry purée adds a nice flavor and texture, with real strawberry pieces. I'm not sure if they're fresh or frozen, but the flavor is solid either way. As always, I recommend at least 75% sweetness. This drink always hits the spot. I've had the waffle pastry a handful of times, and I recommend the Oreo or regular puff option. The cheese version contains actual melted cheese, which throws off the flavor a bit for me. The cheese foam as a dipping sauce, however, is a non-negotiable must-buy. The parking lot is still terrible, but not as bad as others in the area. There's usually parking behind the restaurant. Customer service and ambiance at this location are passable--neither are particularly memorable, but not every place needs them to be. Sometimes, a quickly made and a consistently made great drink is all you need. 4.5 rounded up to a 5 ~ read more
Located in a small complex with limited parking. I usually have to reduce the sugar level, as the drinks are usually too sweet for my liking. Drinks are enjoyable once that's all figured out. Their bubble waffles are usually good with a nice outer crunch with a perfectly cooked center. Employees aren't as friendly and the place is usually dirty when we visit. We usually just order from the kiosk and call it done. We don't ever sit in there and hang out, so the dirty space doesn't interfere with our visit, I guess. read more

We stopped by Happy Lemon after having dinner close by, and some friends recommened this place to us. I ordered a strawberry jasmine tea with salted cheese and a match latte. Both were very good, I had never had salted cheese mixed in a drink, it seemed kind of weird to me, but I ended up liking it. I adjusted the sweetness to 30% and half ice on the recommendation of the staff, they were very helpful and friendly. I would absolutely come back, the inside was clean and well maintained, and it seems like a very relaxed place to hang out. read more

I love getting the iced matcha latte w/ salted cheese super good. Also recommend the freshly squeezed lemon black tea. There's a lot of tables inside but I wouldn't recommend studying here. It's super loud & a lot of customers. Service is ok.. we were told the cashier wasn't working so we just ended up using the self checkout tablet. Also parking is a struggle. read more

My husband and I ordered the Best-Tea Premium Combo (the Tea-puccino drink with Sky Cream & Oreo) to get the code and merchandise from the store's collaboration! The store was struggling to get the orders quickly because of the number of people that time, but they were really kind! While I liked the staff and the store's vibe, I kind of didn't like the drink flavor. It was just bland despite the Oreo flavor, and I didn't know what it tasted like, to be honest. Came here after dinner in the same plaza. Ordered the oreo/cheese half/half waffle bubble with the oreo milk tea. The girl who called out #409 and #410 at the same time got herself confused. She handed my waffles to the #410 customer who held n touched the waffle. Then got mixed up because the girl said she didn't order that. So she had her sit down again. Meanwhile I was standing there waiting for my order. I was #409. So she took the waffle back from the girl who touched the whole thing and said "oh this is yours" and handed me the waffle she took back from the previous customer. I still stood there waiting for the rest of my order (a drink) and she asked to see my receipt and asked the other girls there if anybody made my drink yet. Nobody did. So she said she'll call me back up when my drink was ready. I was really about to tell her to make me a new waffle but I decided to let it go. The waffle was handled by another previous customer but overall the flavor was good and not too sweet which I like. We barely tasted the oreo but I liked it. Sweltering heat in San Diego, you say? Popping in to a tea shop is always a good idea. 90° last weekend and I just finished lunch next door. My friend recommended the Milk tea with Oreo and Puff Cream -to which I added pudding, 70% ice and 50% less sweet. I was worried about the puff cream because some places have it so rich, it's like I'm eating a stick of butter. Happy Lemon's had a good puff cream, lighter than I expected. The gentleman that took my order was nice. Didn't say much but got my tea down super quick and had my straw ready when my number was called. Took off one star because the place is looking run down, with paint peeling off the walls. Parking is not the most fantastic especially if it wasn't a weekend and all the shops in the strip are open. read more
Stopped in here for something sweet! There was one girl at the counter to order with. I ordered a couple drinks and two bubble waffles. The waffles always take a minute to prepare so I expected a little wait. There were a few people in line and the employee was great at doing it all! She gave me my drinks and waffles in the cutest happy lemon insulated tote. Definitely a nice surprise! read more
