We were so glad to stumble upon this boba shop just steps from the trolley that we took exploring San Diego. Their menu has a huge selection of teas, milk teas, smoothies, and other drinks, so narrowing it down to just one was definitely the hardest part. We ended up getting Mango, Taro and Ube Smoothies, and all were delicious. They were refreshing and exactly what we needed after spending a hot day walking around the city. In fact, we came back twice. It actually would've been three times if our first visit had worked out. We arrived before the posted closing time, but the employee told us they were already closed. Maybe the hours listed were incorrect, but it was a little confusing. Other than that small hiccup, we had a great experience. The drinks were consistently good, the location was convenient, and we'll definitely stop by again the next time we're in San Diego. read more

This place is in a plaza, so there's a big parking lot. You order at a self-service kiosk, and there are plenty of tables and seating. They also have some board games. It's a good place to sit and talk. It was $16.17 for both drinks. Strawberry Yakult (3.5/5) - I got this with less ice and 75% sweetness. It had a tangy, slightly sour flavor because of the Yakult. The strawberry flavor isn't very strong. Strawberry Yogurt Smoothie (4.5/5) - I liked this one a lot more! The yogurt flavor wasn't too strong, and the strawberry flavor was nice. I liked how there was strawberry purée on the sides of the cup. I got crystal boba in both drinks. It was nice and chewy. I'd recommend this place. read more

We were looking for a boba place and found this on Yelp. It's located in a commercial center so parking is a bit of a challenge. There's parking but you have to walk a short distance though. I had the Taro boba drink. The boba is soft and the Taro is not that sweet. I should have ordered their specialty drinks since the Taro Boba is just a normal drink. I saw a Yelp recognition posted on the wall and was surprised that this establishment generated so many reviews. Glad to see them get recognized for their business read more

Came by here today to get 3 boba drinks to go. 1) jasmine milk tea with honey (with boba) - decent 2) peach milk tea with boba - this was good 3) lychee green tea with boba (too sour when 50% sugar) - they don't do the milk tea version The small size seems a bit smaller than the typical 16 oz, so may be worth it to get the large upgrade at $0.50 more. I got all small sizes and kinda wish I had upgraded. read more

At night time, they have the combo promotion and that's great. I got the katoyaki and crème burlee Thai tea. The katoyaki is very good. Crunchy outside and soft inside. I love the creme brûlée Thai tea. It's very creamy with the Thai tea taste. I will definitely come back to try different things on the menu. The place is clean and cozy and great customer service. read more

This is a small tea place next to a bunch of other fast food places. This area near old town smelled like urine. That's a real turn off, but this tea place makes good drinks! When we went there, there was only one worker cashiering and making the drinks. It took a while but we were killing time while we charged our car. We got a mango yogurt drink. My husband has been into yogurt tea lately and he's been trying to find a drink that tastes like the one he got at buy vien in San jose. This place came closest. The mango yogurt slush was pretty good. My husband enjoyed his yogurt slush and wouldn't mind coming back! read more

This is one of my favorite boba spots to get a sweet treat from! We will swing by on the way home from the airport to get our usual mango yogurt smoothie and strawberry yogurt smoothie. Parking lot can get busy, depending on the time of day. For the most part we've never run into issues with it! When you enter there are two kiosks you can order from, or you can get your order taken by the cashier. You can also order through Yelp if you're on a time crunch. Sometimes when I order in person it takes a bit longer, but that's kind of expected. The shop is cute and has lots of seating to hang out! read more

I've been trying to find the perfect Lychee Green Tea at different places and this one takes the win on topping options. They have such an extensive topping list and Lychee Popping Boba which I've never seen before! The drink itself is pretty good, but needs a little more lychee flavoring. Other than that the drink was a reasonable price and tasty. The decor inside is very clean and aesthetic. They have board games and card games like Uno to play with friends and a nice seating area. The only reason I gave it only 4 stars was due to the service. We weren't greeted at the door and she ignored us the entire time we were ordering on the tablet in front of her read more

Thai milk tea is super tasty and well made. The service was quick and easy. There is a kiosk tablet where you can order and pay. They have contactless payment and can pay through phone. Parking here is solid and plenty of parking spots. The bathroom is easily identifiable and accessible. They have real cool games and nice seating inside for good group outings. If you're here with friends, a great spot to hang and chill. Games include monopoly, jenga, and uno. A great spot for good boba and vibes. Prices range around $6-$7 and and toppings are about $0.75 extra. They do have an offer where you can get free toppings if you follow their instagram and leave a comment! read more

Small boba shop near the USD campus. I ordered two Thai teas and veggie egg rolls. Let me tell you--the Thai tea was really good, honestly one of the better ones in the area in my opinion. We got Tea Town on Doordash since it was the most affordable and best looking option in the area. The cat cup was so stinking cute and definitely worth the extra $0.75! This place is opened late and it's super cute vibes. Great spot to go to for a late night with friends, and they even have games! Boba is cheap and pretty good quality! The only thing is that it has a very strong chicken karate oily smell that made me and my friends get our drinks and leave, it smells like a fast food restaurant and it was quite unpleasant. Came here for a boba to go. They open pretty late so it was nice to get something quick.

TeaTown is located right by the Arrive Mission Valley apartment complexes. The shared parking is a bit hit or miss here. Decent service and only one other customer here when I stopped by, so I received my drink in a timely manner. I ordered a green milk tea with boba in a cute bear bottle (only an extra 65 cents, so it was about $7 for the drink). The milk tea had a good creaminess and tea taste ratio to it. I did not enjoy the slight bitter aftertaste though, as it gives you a bit of a dry mouth and definitely makes you thirsty. The boba was on the chewier side. Although the bear bottle is very cute and I want to keep it as a reusable bottle, they gave me a defective cup, as the back of the bear bottle is all scratched up and sticky - I tried washing it multiple times too. read more

Pretty decent bubble tea! Strong tea flavor which is always fantastic. The boba is a bit hard which is why I take off a star. I got the regular black milk tea here. Staff was really friendly and it was quiet when I came. There wasn't a lot of people. They're running a 10% off for students and a coupon for a free bubble tea if you check in on yelp. read more

This quaint place is an integral part of the Boba community. The service is great! I love the decor and the teas are delicious. We stopped by today for an energy boost. What a cute atmosphere! Good drinks, delicious popcorn chicken, and amazing decor. Such a lovely boba shop, and the fruit tea was good! - great place to work, Has wifi & outlets at at least half the tables - total of 3 tables of 2 + 4 tables of 4 - Music is not invasively loud, but is definitely louder if you sit under the TV - Located in strip mall in same area as Arrive Mission Valley (which has its own designated parking area) - parking: Shares parking lot with other businesses like Subway but there is enough retail parking spaces to go around Got the: 1. Tea Town fresh fruit tea, 75% sweet with boba - pretty delish, would get again 2. Popcorn chicken, medium spicy (10/10) - was surprisingly nice and spicy, it had a great kick for being medium spicy - came with sweet & sour sauce - nice & crispy, definitely recommend TLDR: great place to hang out or to work. Awesome ambiance just come! read more

We came for their grand opening BOGO free special and service was super friendly. The discount applied to toppings too which was cool. We ordered the roasted oolong milk tea with boba, matcha green milk tea with boba, crème brûlée matcha, and chocolate cheese and Oreo. The matcha green milk tea and roasted oolong milk teas were decently strong in flavor. Although the boba had a nice soft chewy texture, the boba was lacking in flavor. Chocolate cheese & Oreo was just okay and probably not worth getting again due to the higher price. Crème brûlée matcha had so much cream and salted cheese so it's a good value and yummy... but don't get this if you're expecting strong matcha flavor. It was very faint. Parking here can be a little challenging as the lot is very busy, but overall not too bad. read more

I don't want to leave a lower review because this is a new business and I'd like to see them succeed, but I think there are a few areas they could improve in. Today I had the strawberry yogurt smoothie and my husband had the taro smoothie. Overall the strawberry yogurt smoothie was good, but I think the flavor could be a lot stronger. It tasted a bit watered down because I think there's too much ice blended into it. Towards the end of my drink, there were large chunks of ice that weren't blended completely. I think smoothie type drinks should be smooth and the ice should be fully incorporated. Overall, a stronger yogurt taste and less ice would improve this drink. My husband said that his taro smoothie was good. The service is friendly, and there are a lot more seats inside compared to back when this location used to be Tan-cha, making it a better environment to sit and hang out if that's your thing. read more

This suite at the Shops at Arrive Mission Valley has become a revolving door. TeaTown is now the third boba tea shop to have conducted business here within the last six months or so. They are currently in a soft opening phase with a buy one, get one free promotion on all of their drinks. The inside decor remained mostly the same with a little more faux greenery added. Seating was limited to a few small tables that could hold around a dozen customers. A one-page menu sheet was available at the service counter. There were six categories of drinks along with three savory snacks. I chose a White Peach Oolong Tea with boba pearls and less ice. At the time of my visit, the BOGO free promotion was not happening yet. Instead, the boba topping was complimentary. If I had time, then I would have asked for a remake of my tea because the sweetness was off even though it was at a regular 100% level. The oolong tea flavor was not very prominent either. While the service was good and the prices were reasonable, perhaps I received a subpar brew for my drink. Unfortunately, I had to give a rating that was less than four stars for my initial visit to TeaTown in the Linda Vista neighborhood. read more

The food is ok. Not bad, but not great. I came here because I was in the area and hungry, so it was fine. I've had better popcorn chicken and milk tea elsewhere, like in Kearny Mesa. I wish there was more batter around the popcorn chicken so it would be crunchier. My order was definitely hot and freshly fried, but not really crunchy. Spice level is great. The milk tea is 6/10. Not much to say about service, there was only one young woman working on what seemed to be a slow Wednesday. The shop should turn on the ventilation or open a window because it was really stuffy and smelled strong of fried food and sugar... read more

I'm kinda wary of trying new boba places because tapioca pearls have so much inconsistency, I feel like they're really easy to over cook or something. Upon telling this to the young woman who took my order she let me sample the boba! And it was delicious! Totally put my mind to ease and was super sweet and thoughtful. Yummy thai tea too, round up on the sweetness lol. read more

TeaTown off of Morena has consistently made decent bubble & fruit tea. They currently offer a free house coffee special between 2-5pm, Doordash delivery/pickup, and online orders. After hanging out at Mission Bay Park for several hours, we were parched and wanted something cold to drink. We found this gem about 7 mins drive from where we were and decided to try it out. It's a cute little place and you can hangout and play games as well. If you check-in through Yelp, you get one free topping to go with your drink. We got 2 lychee green teas with lychee jelly, a strawberry smoothie and the TeaTown's Fruit Tea with lychee jelly. Drinks were pretty good and not overly sweet like other spots. You also have the option to adjust the sugar level. I highly recommend the TeaTown'd Fruit Tea drink! An added bonus, if you come here between 2pm-5pm, ask for their free house coffee to try. It's super good and has a salted cheese foam on top! Definitely a great place to check out if you are around the area. read more

First and last time visiting. Food was good and so was the tea but the service was non existent. I walked in with my daughters around 12:00 on a Saturday afternoon. No customers in the place and 3 workers near the back. No one greeted us, smiled, or made any move to indicate that they were even open. I started ordering at the kiosk and one lady in an apron approached the counter but said nothing. I asked if I should order on the screen or with her and she said either was fine. I continued ordering on the screen and sat down. I ordered 2 drinks with boba and fries. After a couple minutes the lady with the apron told me they did not have French fries and if I wanted chicken or something else instead. We took the chicken and wondered how a business doesn't know they are out of an item on their menu especially as we were the first customers of the day. Received our drinks and chicken with a "chicken's ready" and that was it. One of my daughters still said thank you as she has been taught to always be kind and gracious but not even her thank you was met with any type of acknowledgement. I am not sure where all the good reviews come from but maybe they are not from customers who look like me and my children. I pass by this place every day when I take my kids to school and it would have been a great place for a weekly treat but no. I'd rather spend my money at Starbucks because they greet everyone who walks in. Or at our other favorite, Rose donuts across the street. On the plus side, the pizza place near by tea town is opening soon and they gave us a coupon for a free pizza when they open, and the workers there were really nice. Maybe the tea town crew can learn something about customer service from their neighbors. read more
