Omg SO happy they opened a TP Tea in San Diego! I've been to the Bay Area locations multiple times, but I wanted to try something new this time. I settled on the tgy family milk tea which is tieguanyin milk tea with pudding, boba, and coffee jelly. I love the tieguanyin milk tea at TP Tea, the flavor is so strong, fragrant, and yummy. I did want a sweater treat than what I usually get so I opted for the 30% sugar as opposed to my normal 0 or 15% sugar. This was a big mistake on my part, especially since I didn't take into account that 3 toppings would already make the drink way sweeter than usual. Next time I'd definitely opt for 0 sugar if I'm getting that many toppings haha. Still a solid spot regardless! They have tables inside too, and service is pretty quick :)
Solid boba option although the amount of toppings I got in a standard drink that I didn't modify is pretty ridiculous. I wanted a bit more tea. Came on a Sunday right at noon and it was busy! They got through orders pretty fast though. Only option for ordering is through one of two kiosks or you could do it online. I got the 3Q TP Milk Tea with 15% Sugar and Less Ice. It comes with coffee jelly, qq noodles and boba. As you can see from the pic, more than half the drink was the toppings. The tea flavor was actually really good but just muted because of the toppings. The toppings were fun though and I liked the mix. I'd probably try and ask for half the amount next time. Only indoor seating and not that much so definitely meant for smaller groups. Plentiful parking though since it's in a not busy strip mall.
So good!! Having just come back from China, I didn't think much of a quick boba stop but - wow! Worth the stop and will definitely add to my regular rotation!!! Everything so tasty- 3Q TP milk tea with 15% sugar was everyone's winner!!! Amazing toppings and perfect QQ texture. Matcha yuzu - strong and refreshing. Midnight sesame great for no caffeine friends. Will definitely be back!
such an underrated boba shop. this boba shop is hidden in a huge shopping center. there's usually a lot of parking and no wait to order. we really like the tie guan milk tea both hot and cold. it has a bold flavor that doesn't get muted whether hot or cold. the boba texture and sweetness is perfect! would really recommend checking this place out.
I received a thorough and quick response for my adjustment to my toast account after my points were missed on my recent visit. Billy is a pleasure to meet with and knows how important customers are. Thanks! I am already planning my next visit here!
TAIWAN PROFESSIONAL TEA (4 stars) Gem in the randomness of Clairemont. It's tucked away in the middle of a neighborhood's plaza. I kind of like that, away from other boba places and easier to draw customers. It's a cute little boba shop with a lot of tasty offerings on the menu - I had a hard time deciding and went for something refreshing, familiar, and safe. STRAWBERRY MILK TEA ($6.75) - iced blended strawberry milk tea. The texture thicker like a smoothie instead the standard milk tea. This was calling, especially during a heatwave at the end of "winter". After one sip I was very satisfied as I liked the texture. I added some boba and they didn't freeze and get hard while in this drink. Nothing special about the boba - it was average. Overall I felt like I could taste the quality of the strawberry milk tea with good strawberry and creamy flavor. I believe it was caffeinated because I didn't sleep until 2am. I'd def order this again but want to try other items. HIGHLY RECOMMEND Until the next review...
Date of visit: September 2025 This was a newer boba/tea shop that opened in San Diego. They are in the same parking lot as Five and Below, so there is plenty of parking. The fresh milk tea is pretty good with tie guan yin tea. I definitely recommend getting less sugar for the fruit teas. They have a few tables inside. I would say it's not that great of a study/work spot. Credit card only. No cash.
As soon as we walked in we were warmly greeted by a barista named Lisette. She made herself available to any questions we had. She greeted us w/ such a kind and warm welcome it made us want to order with her instead of the kiosk LOL The place itself is pretty small but it's in a very large plaza with ample parking. It felt clean inside & smelled like a sweet bakery which was the best part. We ordered the Sunshine Iced Tea which was refreshing and had pineapple in it but it wasn't an overpowering flavor. We also got the Matcha Brûlée Tornado which I ordered at 80% sweetness. It was really aesthetic to look at and the matcha was delicious. The only downside is that I prefer my matcha mixed in with whatever sweetener is in my drink which for this was the brûlée cream & because of the thick consistency it was a little difficult to mix the flavors but that definitely wouldn't stop me from getting it again!
Came here today and had such a great experience. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, which immediately made the visit feel special. The shop itself is new, super cute, and very clean. For drinks, I got the matcha yuzu with 15% sweetness. It was amazing. The yuzu added a nice tangy citrus flavor that balanced really well with the matcha, and it had tea-flavored jelly at the bottom which was such a fun touch. I love matcha and this one wasn't overly sweet, which is exactly how I like it. My husband got the strawberry smoothie with oat milk and ordered it at 0% sweetness. Even without added sugar it was still naturally sweet from the strawberries and tasted really fresh. Definitely a great option if you want something fruity but not overly sugary. Overall the drinks were really good and the atmosphere was great. I'd definitely come back and try more items on the menu.
I'm always looking for the next best fruit tea! This one is comparable to YiFang's fruit tea which the closest location for me is in Rowland Heights. I'm big on Sunright Fruit Tea but if i'm in convoy, I'd happily come here to get my fix! There was a big crowd right as they opened on a Saturday at 11:30am. I think many people place online orders. Even though they were clearly swamped, I liked how they made sure each customer felt welcomed and was taken care of. Great team! The shop itself has limited indoor seating, so it's more of a pick up and go location. There is plenty of parking because it is in a huge shopping area.
I'm so glad they landed in SD! I love their strawberry milk tea (blended). It's a really unique drink. They use fresh strawberries. I ordered online in advance and the pick up was a breeze. Service was on time. I'll be returning soon!
This is my and my husband's new favorite milk tea spot. You can actually taste the floral black tea flavor in the classic milk tea and the boba is soft and slightly sweet and not too chewy. During weekdays they have a buy 1 drink 15% off 2nd drink happy hour 3-5pm. We like the ease of ordering ahead thru Snackpass and being able to collect digital stamps. My favorite are the qq noodle! They're weird at first but then it reminds me on a common Vietnamese / Filipino pandan "worm" dessert. Service is usually quick and friendly. The parking is easy right now because there is major construction but I can see it getting tough when the Trader Joe's opens up.
Fantastic fruit tea is sooo good and refreshing especially during this heatwave in San Diego. Love coming here the staff is so nice and my drinks always come out perfect. The plaza have plenty of parking which is a big bonus. The store itself is very clean and always well stocked

My first visit here and it so happens to be TP Teas 1 year anniversary. Billy, who works here was so great! Made me feel like family! The selection of teas here look so inviting. I ordered the Tie Guan Yin tea that was customized to my specific tastes. Was very refreshing and tasted exceptionally authentic. The tea taste really shines here. I even shared one with my neighbor. I can't wait to try the other flavors on the menu. They have seating inside the store as well for you to sit awhile. A pleasure to have this place to visit for a nice drink. read more

This place was pretty busy with in store orders but mainly a lot of online orders/ pick ups. They were so busy that in-store orders were all made on their two electronic pads while staff rushed to make orders. I'd prefer to order with a person but good for them for all the business, I guess. I did notice that staff were very friendly and helpful once the big rush slowed. Drinks were good overall but the Mango Passion Fruit with boba and 50% sweetness was perfection. Definitely will stop by again if we're in the area. Thai Tea w/ boba - good Strawberry milk tea - ok Mango w/ cheese foam - yum Mango passion fruit - delicious!!! read more

We stumbled up on this place, not knowing it's a famous chain from Taiwan. Plenty of parking, surrounded by other restaurants and shops. It looked like this place hasn't been opened for that long. The place was clean and the people were nice and personable. There were so many different options, and there were a few tea that I have never heard before . I opted for Matcha because I understand what that should taste like. And they did not disappoint! This place might be one of the tea place that actually taste like they use high-quality Matcha. They don't water down their tea with a bunch of milk or cream. Matcha itself was fresh., umami, with little a bit of sweetness. Bonus point- their boba was cooked well too! I would be back if I'm around this area again! read more
TP Tea is a good spot to sit and chat with your friends. It's clean, and offers a large menu with specials. The service is quick and friendly. I got a Mango Boba Tea and did not add any extra boba or anything. However, there was an insane amount of boba compared to the drink my wife got which you can in the photos as a comparison. Nonetheless the tea itself was good but the mango flavor was on the weaker side, maybe overshadowed due to the honey mixing in with the amount of boba it had added. The prices are around what I see boba shops around charge, at best 25 to 50 cents more. read more
My friends and I stopped by for a drink after having dinner nearby. The store was clean and not busy. Service was decent and our order came out fairly quickly. I ordered the Thai Tea with boba and asked for 75% sugar (4/5). It tasted closer to 50% sugar, but it was still good overall. The boba was enjoyable and had a nice texture. read more
TP Tea just opened and it's already one of my new favorite boba spots! This is a well-known brand from Taiwan. I tried a few drinks and enjoyed them all, especially the Taiwan Classic Milk Tea with QQ Noodle, boba, and grass jelly. Such a fun mix of textures. It can be a meal replacement with all the toppings in it. I'm usually more of a milk tea girly, but their fruit teas are refreshing and perfect when you want something lighter. The Tie Guan Yin Milk Tea was also really smooth and aromatic. For sweetness, 80% is perfect for me. If you're someone who doesn't like things too sweet, I'd recommend going lower. Service was friendly and fast. There are only a few tables for seating, so it's more of a grab-and-go spot, which works great since it's right in Clairemont Town Square. Perfect place to grab lunch nearby and swing by after for some boba. read more
Glad to see this famous Taiwanese boba chain finally pop up in San Diego! Love how the menu features lots of unique tea options like Tie Guan Yin and Four Seasons Oolong. The quality of the tea is fantastic, and the boba is cooked perfectly. Prices are a little higher than other boba shops, but it is justified imo. Interior is bright, clean, and spacious. The staff is friendly and helpful and I personally love the multiple tablets available for quick ordering. read more
TP TEA @ Clairemont Parking is available out front, is free and available. It is shared in a plaza with other restaurants and stores! My friend found this spot on Yelp, and since it was highly rated, we were really excited to check it out. From the plaza, I immediately loved how bright and welcoming it looked, it had such a great vibe. They offer both self-checkout and in-person ordering, which I thought was super convenient. I ordered their new Lychee Pearl Cube Green Tea (80% sugar, light ice), while my boyfriend went with their Original Thai Tea with boba. Our total came out to about $14, pretty normal pricing at around $7 per drink. The bathrooms are located outside on the left side of the alley, and you'll need a code to get in, so I recommend asking a staff member if you need to use it. Our drinks came out in about 10 minutes, and we grabbed a table inside. There are around four tables available, the space was clean, comfortable, and had a bright, lively ambiance. As for the drinks, they were delicious! I loved my lychee tea because it wasn't overly sweet or strong. The lychee pearls were a fun mix between jelly and boba, which added a nice texture. Overall, I'd definitely come back. The drinks were high-quality, the service was easy and friendly, and the atmosphere was great. Plus, Claremont is such a nice area, so I highly recommend stopping by if you're looking for a good boba spot! read more

Right as we entered we were greeted by this friendly man, perhaps the owner(?). He was so helpful and kind to us, giving us suggestions and helping us order. Wanted to make sure we liked the drinks before we left too!! Lovely guy. Tie Guan Yin is the best milk tea!!! Strong oolong tea flavor and unique compared to the standard black and green milk teas. Haven't been able to find it anywhere besides TPTea. They also have many non tea options as well. Was super excited to find out one was opening in San Diego, have been to a couple in the Bay Area before. Very new and clean space, with these cutie boba decors. Overall, great drinks and very reasonable prices, compared to many drink and dessert places these days. read more
It was just a matter of time before a boba tea shop opened in the row of food/drink vendors at the Clairemont Town Square. TP (Taiwan Professional) Tea debuted in late August with a long line of customers waiting to redeem the BOGO promotion that's typical for the soft opening of such a business. I tried to visit during that initial weekend, however there was a sign posted that the shop was closed to family and friends only. I returned the following week after ironically visiting a branch of this chain in the SF Bay Area. With the nearby movie theater now closed, the parking situation in the lot became even easier with fewer vehicles in this section of the plaza. The inside of the suite had minimal seating with a few small tables to the right when you entered. The menu was spread across five screens. One of the unique items was the QQ topping which was noodle-shaped boba instead of pearls. You could still get boba in its traditional bubble form if so desired. I picked two drinks for my order, the Taiwan Classic Milk Tea and the Four Seasons Osmanthus Ice Tea. The first one included boba, QQ noodle, and grass jelly as toppings. That's more than I normally would request, but for $6.95 the price was a good value. I learned that I wasn't a fan of the noodle topping because of its slippery texture. The QQ noodle also didn't have the same chewiness as the pearls did. The second one had a stronger tea flavor which I preferred. There were about half a dozen customers ahead of me when I arrived. The staff did an adequate job of preparing my products in a timely manner. I happened to run into a fellow Yelper so we chatted while waiting for our respective teas. I gave my initial visit to TP Tea a four star rating. read more
Large parking lot, easy to find parking. You walk in and order at the kiosk. They don't usually have anyone manning the register unless it's busy. It's credit card only. Staff was super helpful and friendly. I tried to order a matcha and a pineapple drink but they said they were out of both so went with their recommendation of a different citrus tea. It was blended which was odd because it said iced tea. It was super bitter and I did not like the flavor. It was pricey at $7.50. Boba was good/fresh at least. read more

I ordered the seasonal lychee berry smoothie with boba and QQ jelly. I saw some reviews that the QQ jelly was a must try speciality of TP Tea, but the texture was not for me. It was not very sweet nor very sticky the same way boba is. It's a bit closer to the texture of a slightly softer, bouncier konjac noodle. The drink overall was nothing special. I felt it was too watery to be a smoothie, more like a slushie. My friends who ordered milk teas also agreed that their drinks were very watered down, no strong tea or milk flavor. Also, the boba pearls were not particularly soft, sweet, or chewy the way I prefer. The 80% sweetness for the drink was great, not too sweet but also still good flavor. The total for the drink with two toppings was ~$10, so I am disappointed with the drink experience for the price. Overall just average, but given others' positive comments on the drink quality I am open to trying again with a different drink in the future if there is a good promotion. read more

Our barista gave me such awesome recs. I left with the honey jasmine green tea 50% sugar with cube pearl. No artificial sweeteners and there's a hint of floral taste after each sip. Will definitely be back for the amazing service and more drinks to try! read more
TP Tea San Diego is a fresh new addition to the local boba scene and I'm toooootallly here for it (Especially all the friends that know how I get excited for a brand new boba spot). The space has a clean, modern vibe that feels bright and welcoming, perfect for grabbing a drink and hanging out. My first visit, I tried the Osmanthus Oolong, which didn't quite hit the mark for me; I usually love that floral depth, but this version felt a bit muted. That said, I came back and ordered the TGV Family Milk Tea (with all the fixings and toppings), and wow it was too incredible. Creamy, chewy, flavorful and most importantly - strong tea flavor. Service is always super friendly and most importantly faaaast esp for the volume of orders. I'm excited to keep exploring what they offer and I'll definitely be back for more. If you're into Taiwanese tea and love discovering new boba spots, TP Tea is a total winner. TP Tea is now open in San Diego! They are a popular Taiwanese boba chain known for serving up some of the most authentic drinks. This spot is located in the Clairemont area in a plaza with a good amount of parking spots. Inside, they have a good amount of seating with a couple kiosks for self-ordering. For their menu, they have a wide range of different teas and milk teas to choose from. Wifey got the Tie Guan Yin Milk Tea and I got the new Lychee Berry Smoothie. Overall, we are glad that TP Tea is continuing to expand into more cities. All of the staff here are friendly and welcoming. This spot will no doubt become one of the more popular boba spots in the SD area in no time! read more
Good parking, clean store, and quick service. Visited on a Thursday night and it wasn't too busy. You order at the self-kiosk. My friend ordered the Tie Guan Yin milk tea and I ordered the same but fresh milk. We both got 30% sweet which we felt was a good sweetness. Hers was a bit more sweet from the non-dairy mix they use instead of fresh milk. The tea was strong and bold which was surprising! 30% is definitely a good sugar level if you don't prefer your drinks overly sweet. I'd come back again read more
Came to TP Tea during their grand opening weekend. They had a BOGO deal, so the line was stretched around the building. It took about 2 hours from standing in line to getting my beverage. That's also due to people cutting in line. So for 4 people who cut in line in front of me, that was an additional 8 drinks they had to make minimum. As far as the business itself, staff were friendly, professional, and drinks were tasty. I love that since the line was long, they were constantly giving out mini samples for people to try. Overall, great place. Would love to visit here again when the lines aren't too long. read more
Came here during their second day of grand opening and very busy. Located in a plaza so there's plenty of parking. They were offering a BOGO deal for certain drinks. The whole process from lining up and getting our drinks took 1 hr. They did have some samples of their milk tea to try while we were waiting in line. Their place was clean and cute! We ordered the fantastic fruit tea 30% sugar and got the boba milk tea 30% sugar for free. It was delicious! Make sure to lower the sweetness level, one of the workers inform us that their drinks were on the sweeter side. My bf loves very sweet things but he said 30% for his milk tea was perfect. Overall would come back when there's less crowds read more

Our newest and favorite tea shop! Been here many times since soft opening. TP stands for Taiwan Professional. You have to get the QQ noodle over boba or get both! You'll find QQ noodle specifically only at TP locations. They are same as boba but in noodle strand shape. Their tea base is ultra quality, bold and strong. We have tried: -TGY Family Milk tea - they steep the loose teas and I love how you could taste the quality and strength. It was strong. Had a lot of toppings that I'm not into. Next time, I'll just get the milk tea alone. -Mango matcha latte - It was blended and thick but once it melted, the drink was refreshing with the mango. Different than strawberry. -Strawberry milk tea smoothie - I couldn't tell if there were any tea in this one but for sure hit the spot on a hot day with the strawberry fruitiness. -Classic milk tea with QQ noodle topping - not sure if it's the same drink base as TGY family milk tea because the quality of tea in this one wasn't the same as the TGY. Could be a batch thing or different person making it. Still good and QQ noodles are so fun to slurp. -Golden Osmanthus Aiyu Lemonade- I'm a milk tea lover not fruit tea but by far I loved this! Reminded me of salted plum drink. -Brown sugar boba fresh milk tea - very few places make brown sugar that I like and I'm happy to say this is top 5. -Winter melon fresh milk tea - out of all the drinks, this one was my least favorite. I didn't get that earthy caramelized melon flavor. Overall, great location, lots of parking. The service is super quick and they could handle the crowd during soft opening. Very few tables inside but plenty of seating outside from their neighbors. We'll be back many more times. read more

TP Tea is much loved in OC, so I couldn't believe my eyes and ears when I saw that they just landed right here in SD! This was one of my go-to boba spots in college. I got their Jasmine Green Tea Cheese Cream Foam (50% sweet) and my friend got their Mango Fresh Milk Tea. The Jasmine Green Tea Cheese Cream Foam was pretty good! It had a nice, strong tea taste that shone through. The cheese cream foam was a bit lacking for me, it tasted kind of like regular cream... The Mango Fresh Milk Tea was so refreshing! You can tell that they use real mango- bonus points for the pulp. The interior is quite spacious for a boba spot with plentiful seating lining the walls. I wouldn't recommend it as a study spot just yet since their soft opening phase is drawing in quite the crowd. read more

Sweetness and ice level can be adjusted as well as various toppings consisting of boba, cheese foam, jellies, taro paste. I ordered mango matcha which was a 9/10 rating.
