Great service! Dahong Pao tea was great but boba was on the chewy side. If you like chewy boba, would recommend!
Came here to try Bengong's Tea in UTC for the first time. Most of the boba spots I've tried before have been Taiwanese, so I believe this is the first Chinese-style boba shop I've been to. The storefront is nice, and there's a decorative tree where you can hang notes with your wishes, which is a fun touch. They also had a random pop-up press-on nail setup inside, which was unexpected but interesting. We ordered the special boba milk tea and the jasmine boba milk tea, both with golden boba. I usually order light ice and 50-75% sugar. The special boba milk tea was sweet and tasty, and the boba itself was semi-sweet, but the tea didn't taste especially fresh. The jasmine milk tea, on the other hand, was more subtle in sweetness and tasted noticeably fresher and cleaner. One thing I did notice was inconsistency in the boba texture--some pearls were quite firm while others were very soft--which made it feel like there may have been a mix of freshness levels. Overall, pretty good tea, but a bit of a mixed experience when it comes to ingredient freshness and consistency.
They have a wide variety of drink options to choose from. During my visit, I decided to try some of their most popular items: the Black Milk Tea with boba and the Passion Fruit Super Fruit Cup. Overall, I found their drinks to be on the sweeter side, so I would definitely recommend adjusting the sweetness level to your preference when ordering. The Passion Fruit Super Fruit Cup was my favorite, it was refreshing, flavorful, and perfect for a warm day. The Black Milk Tea was decent, but it wasn't quite what I was looking for. Personally, I prefer a stronger tea flavor, and I felt that the tea notes were a bit too mild compared to the sweetness. The boba had a good texture, though, and the drink was still enjoyable. I would definitely come back, especially to explore more of their fruit tea options. If you enjoy refreshing and fruity drinks, this is a great spot to check out.
I came back to get special boba milk tea - 75% sugar and no ice for me is great. I also got passionfruit cup which is refreshing. I'd love to go back to try more drinks.
This tea/boba shop is located inside Westfield UTC. My friends and I went here while waiting for Din Tai Fung and thought it was pretty good. The wait wasn't too bad even though it was busy and they had a tree where you can write down wishes and hang them up. They were also selling really cute nail sets the day I was there, but I'm not sure how often they have that Strawberry yakult: 4/5 this comes with crystal boba as a default. I liked it but didn't love it as much as other strawberry yakult drinks that I've had

Nice drinks reasonable price and a good service they also sell Nails Yes you heard me they also sell nails now so it's Boba and press on nails and the other part of their store yeah very interesting indeed the drinks are reasonable price instead of like considerably that they are in a mall so that is a huge plus they also have a rewards so make sure you sign up for it if you come frequently
Always a great decision for fresh made drinks with fruit. Quick service and a relaxed vibe. There's is even a manifest tree available for you to put your wishes and dreams on. I've been a few times and my manifesting has come to fruition. I'll be back soon.

The tea is great, but the Boba is falling apart and mushy. Small shop be prepared for a line. Sweet gal, working in there selling her nails. Was so excited to try since I'm always seeing people walking around with their cups and Boba. Maybe I'll give it a go next time but no Boba!!
After walking around this massive mall La Jolla San Diego, I was thirsty and came across Ben gong tea, I got the jasmine tea with orange. The tea is strong bold flavor, which I asked for, ( less sugar). Service is quick, wait time is not too bad. Check out this store, while browsing the Mall.
I've never tried BenGong's Tea before but because I was already ordering from UberEats nearby I added a BOGO Mango Mochi deal to my delivery. For 2 Mango Mochis, it was $11 total which isn't bad! The drink consisted of cubed mango, mochi, blended coconut cream puree, topped with whipped cream. The mochi was super sticky but luckily it didn't jam the straw. Overall it was decent, and I appreciated that they taped the top so it wouldn't spill during transit.
I tried this for the first time and got the Burnt Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea. It was really good. I would come back and try other teas!
Got the peach oolong milk tea, and it came with crystal boba and barley and a cream cheese top. The drink was absolutely delicious, and reminded me of the milk teas in China. The drink was also reasonably priced at around $6-7 for a pretty decently big cup. The interior was also adorable with a tree you can decorate with your wishes and a handmade press on nail shop you can browse. Will definitely return to try the other unique drinks on the menu and add a wish to the tree!!
I've been missing milk tea so much while on a work trip, so when I realized there was a Ben Gong Tea near UTC, I had to stop by! There's actually one closer to where I live, but they don't have either of the flavors I tried here, so I was especially excited to order the jasmine snow pear latte and Matcha Coconut, with different toppings. Pear tea is on sweeter side so if you don't like sweet stuff so 50% was perfectly sweet for me. Matcha coconut 50% was not sweet at all so if you like drinks on sweeter side, maybe full sugar might be better. And I loved both drinks! This was my first time at the UTC location. It's inside the big UTC mall, which reminded me a little of South Coast Plaza. Just a heads-up: there was quite a bit of traffic getting in and out of the parking area. The cafe itself is more of a quick in-and-out type of spot, with no seating inside. But the staff were really nice, and the drinks more than made up for it. Both were so good that I'd definitely come back the next time I'm in the area. I'm honestly just wishing the Ben Gong Tea near me carried these two flavors too! read more
Pros: The place is really pretty. I loved the wishing tree where you can write a little wish on a bookmark and hang it up. The dragon, phoenix, and alligator designs are beautiful and give the place a very enchanting vibe. The guy who took my order was also super friendly. Cons: The service on the second half was abhorrent. I ordered their golden sesame slush and waited about 20 minutes. When I finally went up to ask about it, the young girl working there looked at me like I had personally ruined her day. I showed her my ticket and indicated that I was waiting for my drink. Without confirming anything, she slid a pink drink that was already on the counter toward me. I was confused, but took it outside anyway. Checked the label. Wrong drink. So I went back inside, only to see that my actual drink was just then being made. I saw that people who ordered after me had already gotten theirs. My flabbers were officially gasted. The drink itself was pretty good, although it melted rather rapidly in the August heat. The customer service at the end was.. like stale bread. Hopefully, it was just one off experience, because the place itself is really cute. I may try another location someday.. if I can find the courage. read more
This time we got the BOGOF jasmine snow pear tea latte, 25% sugar. What surprised me was the snow fungus and pear pieces inside, great for your skin. The drink was light and refreshing. The Buy 1 get 1 free deal was worth it! read more

A little bit of a line when we go there, so there was a bit of a wait. The cashier was helpful in explaining what's in the drink when I inquired about the mochi mango since it was a seasonal drink. The inside was decorated very cute for the holidays and they also sell press on nails. They had many great designs to choose from. This is hands down my favorite boba place. We had the orange jasmine tea and the mango mochi (seasonal). Both were very good. The orange jasmine was very refreshing! Can't wait to come back!! read more
I love BenGong's Tea and especially love the mango sago which is my go to. It comes in one size and the sweetness can't be adjusted but it's perfect just the way it is. Not bitter, sweet enough, has a nice texture from the sago, and is creamy. The shop itself is very clean, they have a good menu that can be customized to your liking if you want a slush without cheese foam or to mix flavors. The service is always quick and friendly and the prices are in line with what you'd expect to pay in the UTC area. read more

Be gong tea was my lunch for my whole month of minimally invasive surgery rotation at UTC. I have a fave the burnt sugar boba tea, one of those would be my meal and I can say it was one of the good parts of that surgery rotation. The ambiance is nice, I like the decor and the wish tree they have at the location. Service was always fast, efficient and amicable, I definitely recommend going !!! read more

I love that BenGong offers such a wide variety of drinks. My boyfriend got the passionfruit fruit cup drink and I got a tiramisu special milk tea. I liked that his drink was filled with lots of fresh fruit, and I loved the addition of chocolate chips in the tiramisu milk tea. Keep in mind that the wait can be long on the weekends and there's no seating inside. read more
Dropped by while visiting the mall and I had a wonderful experience. It has a really cool design and decor inside although no seating (there's plenty outside in the mall), and the menu has a lot of interesting drinks. Service was super friendly, and it didn't take that long to get our drinks. Ended up with the mango pomelo sago drink which was good. This is only for their mango pomelo sago I think it is. Cute aesthetic vibes, the hours on yelp isn't correct, since I think they open at 11am, not 12p. They were open, and workers were inside but funny, the door was locked. so they had to come over and unlock it. lol Sadly this drink was boobooo. The coconut milk? tasted super off. I was thinking, maybe we need to just mix it more but, it was not good. the sago was off....we ended up trashing it. $10!?!? ish down the drain. Yes, I know we shoulda probably said something, but we're not the type to...LOL and we already were walking away. so quite disappointing for being located in such a nice mall! Ben Gong's tea is a new-ish boba place in UTC mall. It's nice and clean but there's basically no place to sit down. They strangely were selling press on nails in the boba shop. I don't understand. Anyway the service is friendly though probably could be faster. It took almost 20 minutes from waking in the door to getting the drink. By the time we left, there was a long line out the door. That said, we got the special boba milk tea (hot). The tea was really good and hot. It had the right amount of sugar (30%). The boba was really fresh and soft. No complaints. read more
Line progressed at a reasonable pace. There is no seating inside or directly outside the boba shop. There are seats outside several feet away as part of the mall. The drink tasted fine, but the slush part was a bit icy versus super blended. I got regular sweetness for pomelo mango sago and it wasn't overly sweet. read more
Psst, the best milk tea in San Diego is at BenGong in UTC. Han is a top notch barista with delicious not-too-sweet milk tea mojo (that's her pictured in front of the store). If you're a strong black tea lover, go for their Dai Hong Pao Milk Tea. It has a rich and fragrant tea flavor and is especially delicious hot! For something cold, I go for the Tea Cube Special Milk Tea at half sugar and it's a perfect balance of tea and creaminess. The creamer here is satisfyingly creamy yet the milky-ness does not overpower the tea flavor. Their Peach Oolong Milk Tea with Cream Top is another tasty alternative when you're in a creamy fruit craving but still need that hit of good ole black tea. If you're not sure about a drink just ask and Han is happy to explain the drink's flavor profile. This December they started giving out these cute insulated bags when you order two drinks or more. Also be sure to follow their Instagram to get advance access to special edition drinks! There's often a line at peak times on weekends, but the wait is worth it! read more
This place had a line out the door. I was excited to try them out. Asked the guy who took my order if he recommended their fruit teas or milk teas more. He suggested something fruity so I asked for their mango pomelo sago. Unfortunately they didn't have it so I ended up getting their top# 2 peach oolong milk tea instead at 75% sweet. For most places I always have to adjust the sweetness level to 50-75% sweet. The tea was disappointing and bland. I'm usually a green tea kinda girl but this time I wanted to try something different. I also tasted my daughter's strawberry yukult at 100% sweet and it was actually not too sweet either. Her drink was not too bad. The burnt brown sugar milk tea is too milky. Although I was disappointed this time. I'll come back and give them another chance just to try out other drinks on the menu. Btw, there's a lady off to the side selling press on nails. The quality is pretty standard, average, good drinks. I like their menu more because they have a lot to offer, and more decaf options. I got their sesame drink, and it was good and a little bit too sweet. What I don't like is that their menu has a lot of random names with no explanation. What's a "tea cube"? What's the difference between the tea cube milk tea, the tea cube special milk tea, the black boba milk tea, the special boba milk tea? So I had to ask the cashier to explain each drink to me, meanwhile there's a huge line behind me. read more

My go-to boba place in UTC! I tried half of the top drinks and they are all delicious. Their tea has strong flavor and the cream cheese and tiramisu cream is super rich and creamy. Love their popping toppings as well (barley, chestnut, purple rice). They also have many new seasonal drinks, so I have a variety of options to choose every time I come in. My favorite is still the Tiramisu Special Milk Tea with 25-50% sweetness! read more

We had Mango Pomelo Sago This is located at the Westfiedl UTC Mall. Parking and accessibility is dependent on the garage, but we found it was easier to find disabled spots that were close to the elevators in the higher levels. The Mango Pomelo Sago was not sugary. Just a hint of sweetness. We like that the sago was al dente and wasn't cooked in sugar. The coconut milk had a medicinal taste instead of being natural --one that you get by grating coconut flesh, mixing with water and squeezing the mixture to extract the milk. The coconut milk in this drink tasted artificial from the first sip. Also wish the drink had more mango pieces. The other drinks look appetizing for another day. read more
While we were waiting for our taiyakis and ube ice cream from Somisomi, my sister-in-law walked over to BenGong's Tea (right across from Somisomi) to see what they have. I've never heard of them until now. They have a location at Ontario Mills so I'll be heading there soon LOL. Anyway, I ended up walking over here, too. The first thing I smelled was a very strong aromatic tea scent! I knew we were at a good place to try some new tea drinks. They have a good selection of different drinks like boba milk tea, cheese foam tea, fresh fruit tea, milky cloud tea, yakult tea, milk tea, BenGong's signature, cheese slush, sparkling tea, original tea, and seasonal limited tea... now that's a lot of tea types LOL. It's a good thing they place each drink under its appropriate type. 1 Mango Pomelo Sago - very yummy, full of mango, pomelo, and sago, but too small... I need a larger size cup LOL 2 Passion Fruit Sparkling Tea - very tasty and sparkling per my eldest daughter 1 Burnt Brown Sugar Boba - very smooth and rich per my youngest daughter Staff was very pleasant. Service was a tad slow, but they were extremely busy. They have this neat tree of thoughts for customers to write down whatever they want and hang it up on the tree. The card has a beautiful drawing on one side of it. I wrote mine and hung it up... I'm not sharing my thought here... it's personal... you'll have to go to the tree and find it LOL. It's just a very fun thing to do. Thank you BenGong's Tea! There was also a vendor in the back of the shop who was selling nails??? Not 100% sure because I didn't walk over there, but my sister-in-law did. I think she bought some for her coworker. Anyway, I would come back here again to try their other drinks when I'm in the Westfield University Town Center (UTC). read more

Are the milk teas made with nondairy creamer or regular dairy milk?
Hello Helen, we don’t use nondairy creamer here, we only use regular dairy milk to make our milk teas, but fir some of the drinks, you can substitute to oat milk, almond milk or lactose free milk.
