got their sea salt jasmine and their oat matcha latte!! it was so good and perfectly sweet. i really like their matcha it's more nutty and not bitter
They have unique drinks but the tea flavors are lacking here. The drinks are more milky than other places if you're into that. Nice workers and cute interior!
I grew up in this area, so it's kind of interesting seeing how this exact spot keeps changing. I remember it being a Rita's Italian Ice at one point, then a bubble waffle shop, and now it's BoBaPoP Tea Bar. Honestly, boba fits the area way better now, especially since more tea spots have been popping up around here. I stopped in for a quick drink and there was a steady flow of people coming in and out, which is always a good sign. Inside is clean and modern, very simple but put together. You can order at a kiosk or go up to the cashier, which makes it easy depending on what you prefer. The menu has a solid variety. All your usual milk teas, fruit teas, slushies, and blended drinks, plus a good amount of toppings. They were also advertising a matcha ice spinner which caught my attention, so I'll probably come back to try that and see how their matcha quality is. I went with a mango fruit tea at 75% sweetness and added boba. I sat outside while waiting, they have limited indoor seating but a couple tables outside which is nice. The drink came out in about five minutes, so pretty quick. First thing I noticed was there were actual mango pieces in the drink, not just syrup. That was a nice surprise and added a good texture. They were soft enough to go through the straw too, so it didn't feel annoying to drink. Flavor wise, I do wish I went lower on the sweetness. Even at 75% it was still a bit too sweet for me, but that's more personal preference. The part that didn't really hit was the boba. It was a little mushy and didn't have that chewy texture I usually look for. It also had this slightly artificial honey taste that kind of overpowered the drink a bit. Not terrible, just not my favorite. It's a solid and convenient spot for the area. Good variety, quick service, and a nice setup. I'd come back, but probably switch up the toppings next time.

We ended up sitting outside, although the tables could have used a bit of cleaning. I ordered a medium Thai Milk Tea with boba (70% sugar and less ice). The sweetness level was perfect for me, and I liked the chewiness of the boba. There was a little more ice than I prefer, but overall I enjoyed the drink.

Not much area to sit inside but everything was very clean and orderly. I ordered the Thai milk tea. It came out super quick, which was great. After dining nearby, I had to stop by BobaPop to see if it lived up to the hype and I'm so glad I did! Based on recommendations, I tried the Sea Salt Japanese Brown Rice Milk Tea with boba. It totally hit the spot! The salted cheese foam is the perfect savory sweet combo. The boba texture was also spot on being soft without being too chewy. The interior was clean and cute, perfect for photos. While the staff was very welcoming, we appreciated being able to take our time browsing the menu and then ordering at the kiosk. Definitely a new favorite in the PQ area.
rly appreciated the wide variety of teas that i don't always see at boba shops. my favorite was the darjeeling, which almost tasted like it was warmly spiced. also loved the roasted oolong which was almost chocolatey in its roasted flavor. the genmaicha had a nice toasted nuttiness from the brown rice. the dong pian was an oolong that was mellow & creamy, but still flavorful. (w the alishan, idk that anything stood out, but that's just personal.) service was quick & the cashier walked us thru all the options. we got a tea w no ice but it was still plenty cold & filled to the brim there are only a couple tables so this is more of a takeout spot vs a place to study. definitely looking forward to trying other teas, this is another contender for fav tea in town :)

There is some seating outside with a few tables and there is a nice fountain. Went on a sunny, warm Sunday afternoon so it was perfect to take a break outside. You can order with a human or a kiosk. We chose the kiosk so we could browse a bit too. We got a roasted oolong with sea salt foam, and a Japanese brown rice tea with boba. We customized our ice and sugar levels and both orders came out perfectly. Truly delicious and high quality. I especially like that they have the loose leaf tea at the counter which further cues FRESH. It definitely tasted like freshly brewed tea. The people behind the counter were friendly. They looked jovial and happy to be there which is always nice to see.
I tried their new drink, matcha einspanner, for the first time, and it was delicious! Matcha was very smooth, cream top was sweet and made the drink taste like a matcha dessert! I got the drink with 70% sweetness, but could probably go down to 50% sweetness next time. I just wish the ipad ordering kiosk would let me customize the drink with toppings. When I tried to order on the ipad, I could only choose regular boba. So if you want to customize your drink with non-boba toppings, you would have to order in person.
BoBaPop Tea Bar is hands down my favorite boba spot in all of San Diego. The boba is always fresh and chewy, no matter what time of day we come by. The taro flavor is my personal go-to--perfectly creamy with just the right amount of sweetness at 50 percent. I really appreciate that they offer non-dairy creamer but you can still have real milk if that's your thing. The staff here are always super sweet and friendly, which makes the experience even better. For the quality you're getting, the prices feel totally fair--especially compared to other places that charge more but taste worse. The interior is minimalistic but bright, clean, and cute--makes waiting feel pleasant even though there's not a ton of seating. It's definitely more of a grab-and-go vibe than a hangout spot, but that works for me. Even if there's a line, the service moves fast and you never feel like you're waiting forever. There's something about this place that just hits right every time. I'll drive out of my way to come here, even with other boba shops closer by. It's the kind of place where once you've been, you start craving it more and more. They've nailed the balance between quality, price, and charm.

I also think the menu could be displayed better.
Great boba spot for boba addicts. Reasonably priced and quick service. It's clean and very relaxing with a water fountain outside. All drinks no food but that is what makes it simple. Be back soon .

I have stopped by a few times and have had great experiences each time! You can order at the self-service kiosk and the drinks come out in a timely manner. My favorite drink from them so far is the banana matcha. The cream top is delicious and the matcha flavor is great! Service is always good as well. The aesthetic of the place is nice. Ok this place is legit delicious. The entrance is easy to locate in the plaza and you can order from the computer or a real human person, I know right. A real human, what? It's a cozy spot. The people who work there just seem happy and work well together. They're friendly and patient with me as I navigated their menu items. I could not decide what I wanted so I accidentally ordered 3 drinks: Roasted Oolong Milk Tea Osmanthus Oolong Milk Tea 3Q Milk Tea The roasted oolong was for my sister so I don't know how it was but she wanted another one so that should tell you all you need to know. lol I love floral teas and Osmanthus oolong is my new favorite and it delivered. I opted for the agar aka crystal pearls and that was the right choice for the floral tea. I also accidentally drank the 3Q tea after and while not my favorite, I appreciated all the toppings and the tea was still good. The boba is super unique! It's got a nice, chewy kinda texture. I have never had boba like this before and I wish I had blacked out and gotten double boba. read more

Came across this boba shop while in the area today and it was a very nice experience. Lots of drinks to choose from on their menu from milk teas to iced drinks and more, plus the staff were friendly. There is a kiosk with photos if you'd like to order that way as well. Not much for indoor seating, with a bench near the ordering and one table inside. Ended up with a mint milk tea which was very good! Thank you. read more
A cute little Boba tea bar, for you to get different types of Boba drinks. They say they use fresh tea leaves when they brew their various Boba teas, I like how they have an option for osmanthus oolong tea, and it smelled really good. But the milk tea was a bit more watered down than I expected, and my friend got the Taro milk, tea, which was also a bit watered down. Not sure if it was just this one instance that the mixture wasn't as concentrated as I'm used to from other places, I will definitely be back to give it another try. read more

My experience here was amazing. I went there to buy my matcha drink, but I was almost going to be late for work, so I asked the staff if I could cancel my drink. So she told me I'll make your drink first and it only takes 3 minutes. That's so nice of her thank you so much. read more

Pardon my bias, but this tea shop is in a really nice location. It's easy to stop by after a hike, run, or long walk because it's so near my home. Also, I love wintermelon and milk foam :) read more
Decided to try this place because of their cute mascot. It's located in a shopping area near subway. Pros: -they have a self serve kiosk or you can order with the staff -I ordered a large drink with coffee jelly which was tasty. With tip, it was about $9.00 -order came out quickly. Cons: -there is not a lot of seating options. There's a bench and a few chairs, but this isn't a place that you would come to hangout for a while- it's more of a grab and go establishment. This boba spot is more of a grab and go, unless you sit at the benches inside (but I feel like if it's crowded then those are mainly used for people waiting for their drinks). There's random areas to sit outside as well. I came here with my aunt after a long hike. The inside was minimalistic and cute. It almost reminded me of the interior of OMOMO at Del Mar Highlands. The menu was on a stand, your average paper print out and tiny writing. As I walked up to order, I forgot the name of the drink (it was a long one). They didn't have their sugar levels posted at the front, so when I said 75% she said 70%. And when my aunt said 50%, the woman working said 30%. It was a bit confusing. Having a large printed menu depicting the sugar levels available at the front counter would be so helpful! To order, I got a Large, Roasted Oolong Milk Tea, 70% Sweet, Less Ice, with Black Pearls. I was hoping it was brown sugar boba, but sadly it was not. These pearls were so bland, very mushy and gummy. I would not order this again. For the boba to be this bad texturally and taste wise, is not very good for a boba spot. The tea itself was thin with light roasted & woody taste (dry to the mouth). It almost resembled the taste of barley or hojicha to me. They'd have to fix the boba for me to want to come back because I think this is the basis for a boba shop! I do tend to like taro milk tea or a specialty drink so if I were to visit again I would order one of those. read more

I ordered the sea salt japanese brown rice tea 30% and it was really good! I definitely recommend trying some variation of the japanese brown rice tea as it's what they're known for. If you want to taste more of the tea flavor, I'd recommend 30% otherwise 50% was a good amount of sweet for me. Service is ordering from a kiosk. Such pretty interior! I visited on a weekday and no one was there when I went in. They have a kiosk to order by yourself if preferred, or you can order with the cashier. The Japanese Brown Rice milk tea caught my eye so I went with that! 50% sugar and less ice. It has a subtle rice flavor and the milk tea itself doesn't taste much like tea although the description states that there is green tea in it. I think it is mostly milky for those that enjoy that. I give this drink itself a 3/5 just based off of my personal preferences. Would love to try other drinks in the future like the tieguanyin milk tea. The price is fair, I believe I paid around $6-7. read more

I frequent the San Marcos location and decided to stop in because I was in the area. I like this location a lot more! It opens earlier than most tea shops and still brings everything I love about the San Marcos location- cute decor with a fresh and clean look. I typically order from the kiosk so that I can browse the menu without the pressure of someone standing there waiting on me. I really enjoy the japanese brown rice milk tea and had the chance to try to sea salt version and I absolutely love it! PQ has more options on the menu and I'm hoping they end up expanding the SM menu and business hours. read more

I went in and ordered at the kiosk, not sure if you can order in person but that's fine with me. The interior is cute but definitely not a place to study/work from. I ordered a milk tea, zero sugar with less ice and it's what I got. The boba was borderline soggy/overcooked so I feel they can give a bit more care for that but overall, I would come back to try their slush drinks. Not something that I feel you need to try but if you need a boba fix, stop by. read more

BoBaPop is absolutely a hidden gem. Never heard of it until my friend recommended me this place. I'm so glad she did, it was so amazing that I came back the next day. The menu looks like it was catered to serve a princess, it's so elegantly crafted and it MAKES you want to order everything on the menu. Like, "Iron Goddess of Mercy Oolong" Guan Yin Iced Milk tea? That one SCREAMS like it was fit for a royal! I got the Dong Pian Iced Milk tea. Get this, it's made with rare oolong tea, only available when good weather permits the young tea leaves to grow late in winter, producing only a second winter harvest. I RECOMMEND THIS cuz it was SO delish. I got it with 50% sweet, and oat milk. It was so nutty, and well balanced--the tea leaves really brought out the distinct flavor, one that I've never tasted before. And the Japanese Brown hot tea?!?? I can drink that all day, every day. It's so mellow, and semi-sweet with 70%. I think it's perf on a cold day. The employees were super swift and made the drinks with care, I thought they were pretty spot on with the sweetness! Most other shops are way out of range and are inconsistent. Come here if you like consistency and high quality tea! read more

It's always good news to see a new boba shop with such great ratings in the area. What really stuck out to me was how clean and satisfying the interior decoration was. The milk tea itself was very good and the boba was chewy. I loved the extra matcha leaf design on top of the cheese foam! The one thing that fell short for me was the cheese foam. I'm used to a saltier thicker foam at boba shops and this one tasted extremely milky and liquidy. I'd probably pass on the foam next time but would love to try more milk tea flavors. read more

This is one of my wife's and my favorite boba shops. It's relatively new and seems to be doing well. We try to stop by whenever we pick up food from a nearby restaurant in the same lot. I'll usually get a coffee drink. The Lavender Haze is my favorite. It's Vietnamese coffee with ube foam. It's creamy, sweet, and has a good amount of caffeine. You aren't able to adjust the sweetness, but it's fine to me as is. My wife will usually get a milk tea. She's tried the thai and matcha milk teas. Both are delicious. The matcha one has a fresh, strong flavor. The shop itself is clean and decorated well. You order using a large screen but you can also order at the counter if you want to pay using cash. Looking forward to our next visit! read more

This is my niece go to boba place. We would come daily if we could. I finally tried it and understand the hype. It was so good. One of the best Thai teas I've had. I order mine to go and had it in the Vietnamese restaurant next door. It comes great with a banh mi. read more
I'm so glad there's a decent boba spot in PQ! Located in Towne Center next to Round Table, the staff here can't be any nicer and helpful. They are always patient with questions I have and service is always given with a smile. The place is pretty small, with 2 seats inside to wait for drinks. There are a few tables outside. My go to are the fruit teas, with my fave one being the fruit melody and the sunrise tea. Both are very refreshing. I've had the Lavender Haze Coffee and it was good with a strong coffee taste, but it does get rather sweet for my taste. The Roasted Oolong tea isn't bad, but I've had better. Also, a must are their paw waffles! They're really cute and really good too..perfectly crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside. read more
