This is a kiosk on a random corner next to a barber shop just west of I-15 in the Normal Heights neighborhood. I believe a previous bubble tea vendor operated out of this shack before Boba Monkey did. The menu offered iced coffee, matcha, milk tea, slushes, and specialty drinks in regular and large sizes. For a place with minimal overhead costs, the prices were high with a range from $6.50 to $8.50. Toppings were $1 or $2 apiece. From the list of five Milk Teas, I picked a large size of the first one which was the namesake Boba Monkey Milk Tea. I requested less ice, normal sugar, and the addition of boba pearls. The cup was a 20 oz serving, and the total was over $10 after tax and gratuity. I didn't find this milk tea to be anything more than ordinary. There wasn't a strong tea flavor, and the boba pearls were average for chewiness. You may also have to drive around the side streets before locating a curbside spot if the ones directly in front were occupied. For the quality and cost of the product I tried, I gave a generous three star rating for Boba Monkey.

My cousin and I walked here from his house He saw it on the way home and wanted to go. There was a line when we arrived. So many other locals in the neighborhood walked here, excited about having our own boba place. It opened a week ago on 8/8 The owner Le, was so excited about all the locals coming to her Boba Monkey stand Le is so personable and resourceful. She recommended some restaurants to try. It's right on the corner, easy to notice driving by on Adams, with easy side street parking The ambiance was brimming with excitement. There's a little outdoor seating on Adams. Milk alternatives include Soy, Almond and Oatmilk. The Strawberry Matcha Boba is made with fresh strawberries Come on over and join the excitement!

Parking - no designated parking. May the odds not be in your favor to find a place to park within reasonable distance Menu - good size menu - Lots of options. On the pricier side for matcha/coffee/add ons ($2+) Service - friendly, but nothing special - drinks did take a long time tho Drinks - strawberry matcha latte (0/5) boba disintegrated. Could not taste matcha. - ube matcha latte (0/5) i felt like i just went up to someone's yard and took a bite of their grass. This was gross for a lack of better words. - ube cremé coffee (0/5) as a fan of sweet coffee and a sucker for ube cremé/foam... NO. The ube was bland and tasted grainy. Which is odd because usually Iueb creme/foam is made with ube extract. There was also a sprinkle of some kind of powder on top of the cremé. It did nothing for it. The coffee was not it. - see my pictures for color of my NOT mixed drinks. Matcha was the color of dirt. Overall - 1/5 for a cute storefront - I would not recommend - Not worth the mission to find a parking space.

Finally, a real boba restaurant on Adams! We were excited to see how quickly this place opened up. We ordered the SaiGon Sunrise Ca Phe and the Ube Crème Coffee, and both lived up to their names. The Saigon is their spin on a classic Vietnamese iced coffee sweet and milky with a hint of caramel. The standout for us was definitely the Ube Crème Coffee, with its sweet coconut notes and purple foam on top! If sweet coffee is your thing then this place is perfect for you! Thanks for the great customer service - looking forward to coming here again :) P.S - Yes, parking in the area can be sparse but that's the case for most restaurants along Adams, so it's hardly fair to hold it against a great new business like this.

Super cute and a great new addition to Adams Ave. The girls loved the rainbow drink with crystal boba. Saigon coffee was strong like Vietnamese coffee should be! I found easy parking right around the corner at the park. If you already found yourself on Adams Ave by one of the many bars or restaurants take its just a few blocks down.

Over The Rainbow w/ rainbow poppers

We tried Boba Monkey for the first time and it did not disappoint. We ordered the Taro Milk Tea w/ boba, Over The Rainbow w/ rainbow poppers, and The Nitro Crack Coffee. All three drinks were on point, the taro had the perfect taste & sweetness and the boba was cooked perfectly. The Over The Rainbow was hit, it was refreshing drink. My daughter was a big fan of it too. Let's talk about the Nitro Crack Coffee, my husband finished that drink within minutes, I couldn't even take a photo of it. :) It was literally that good, it's his to go coffee! We are now regulars now. If you're ever in the area, stop by this cute boba stand and give them a try.

Just tried the new Boba spot in our neighborhood and I'm OBSESSED! The Taro milk tea is creamy, the right amount of sweetness, and utterly delicious. A great edition to our neighborhood.

Great service, delicious and original flavors. My new place in San Diego area. Definitely coming back with the hold family!!!

    Strawberry Fresca

Get the strawberry Fresca and add the rainbow boba! Very responsive owner. Yesterday I had a drink that wasn't great, and within minutes of leaving a negative review, the owner messaged me and offered to make it right. I really appreciated it, and the new drink I got was excellent. Staff are very kind as well, and the location is charming. Thanks again! I'll be sure to recommend it to others

What a charming little spot! Love the monkey and the convenient area. My husband and I stopped by after a long soccer tournament and Boba Monkey was able to help with our thirst. We ordered the nitro cracked coffee (which my hubby loved!) and the purple passion specialty drink for me. The staff was very helpful so sweet. She was able to make the perfect sugar level that we wanted. The flavored and taste was well balanced. We were pressed on time and the drinks were made very quickly as well. I would definitely come here again when I'm in San Diego.

They stay open late, have ample parking, the space is clean, and the staff is friendly. They mainly operate with a kiosk ordering system, though I am sure you can order with an employee at the register if needed. The menu is displayed on a TV near the kiosk which makes it easy to find a drink. There are a few specials laid out on the register counter that make that area look a little cluttered. Maybe a bulletin board for those specials would make the space feel less busy, but it did not take away from my experience. After ordering we sat at one of the tables. There is a mix of high top seating and regular tables. I stayed here for about two hours to catch up on getting work done and there was still plenty of seating available. This was on a Tuesday from about 1 to 3 PM. I ordered the Green Tea with Cheese Foam, Golden Boba, 75 percent sweet, and less ice. My husband ordered the Aloe Vera Peach Juice with 75 percent sweet and half ice. We both ordered large drinks. There was no signage about WiFi and I did not see other reviews mentioning it either, so we asked. Luckily the staff gave us the WiFi password which makes this a nice option for studying or getting work done. Our drinks came out pretty quickly. My green tea drink was a little bitter which usually means the tea may have been steeped a bit too long. With the lower sugar level it made the drink taste closer to a 25 percent sweetness level. The boba was chewy like usual but lacked sweetness and flavor, which is pretty typical for Ding Tea. The cheese foam tasted really good but the texture was strange. I occasionally got little chunky bits through the straw that felt like curdled cheese. It was definitely an interesting texture moment. Luckily I am not super sensitive to textures or it might have ruined the drink. Overall my drink was about a 6 out of 10. The Aloe Vera Peach Juice was surprisingly really good. It had a nice peach flavor mixed with that classic aloe vera juice taste you get from bottled aloe drinks. It also came with aloe pulp pieces which worked like a topping. It was refreshing and perfectly sweet. There are not many other boba spots in the surrounding area so competition is limited, but Ding Tea still offers a solid selection of drinks and satisfies the boba craving. Extra points for staying open late.

I'm surprised some people could sit down and work/study successfully. Note: I had a positive experience last time getting a blended drink, but today I felt like trying their Thai Tea (not blended) and two Korean Corn Dogs. I ordered the hot Cheeto one with cheese and sausage. Did not wind up receiving the hot Cheeto one. Got a regular one with all cheese, no sausage. Partner got a potato one with cheese and sausage, but only 25% of the filling was sausage. We ate them anyways and wanted to leave it at that since the parking was so difficult. Then my stomach started gurgling in a very wrong way. I don't know if something went wrong with the Thai tea (was the milk they used expired?), or with my Korean corn dog possibly being prepared wrong with a new hire, but my body rejected it violently once I got home. I'd be very cautious about coming back here. Most likely won't. Couldn't finish my Thai Tea. Had to throw it out. I'm hoping this was just an unfortunate one time thing, because it seems like people for the most part have a good experience from their food and drinks. This is my third ever time visiting Urban Bubble. The past two visits were for blended drinks and they were great! The girl working the cash register on the evening of 4/24 around 8:00PM was really helpful with suggesting recommendations and did great. I don't know who prepared my food and drink but maybe they need extra training, heads up. If you order food, I suggest that you check the food before leaving the building instead of trusting that it was correct and finding out once you've already left.

I have already been there twice in the past week, which should tell you how much I enjoy this place. The aesthetic is super neat. I love the decor and the overall vibe. It is colorful, bright, and full of character. They also have board games, and we ended up playing a game of chess, which made the experience even more fun. I have tried a few drinks so far. The double matcha was one of my favorites. I enjoyed it very much. It did not have that overly bitter matcha flavor and was sweet in a really balanced way. I also ordered the Oreo matcha, which was super delicious, refreshing, and tasty. The taro milk tea was good, and the ube cloud coffee was delicious. It actually reminded me of the Vietnamese coffee I usually get in Orange County, so now I do not have to drive all the way there to get something similar. The drinks here are great because they are not overly sweet, which is exactly how I like them. I also tried the purple rice yogurt just to check it out and thought it was okay. Service was also quite friendly, which added to the overall experience. I really enjoyed everything about this place. I can't comment on the drinks, but we love the mochi donuts here. They have a wide selection of flavors. I'll be the ones I can remember: ube, funnel cake, churro, dark chocolate, strawberry, matcha, creme brulee and more. Favorites so far are creme brulee, dark chocolate, ube, and churro. The donuts are soft and a little more doughythan standard donuts with a good taste of the flavors mentioned. They are not overly sweet like standard donuts from Dunkin or Krispy Kreme. That's not necessarily a bad thing. I feel like the sweetness doesn't dominate, so it allows you to enjoy the flavors a little more. The place is pretty clean and staff interaction is okay to good. They have self-ordering kiosks for convenience and ease of ordering. The donuts are a bit pricey, but what isn't these days? Lol. I think it was 6 donuts for $18 or something like that. I can't comment on the drinks. I would order a drink here, but probably without the boba. I just don't like how the boba is stored wide open, uncovered. I think part of it is my mild OCD nature.
