Don't know why I haven't been here sooner, but just recently discovered this place a few months ago. Teas are always good. My go to is crime of passion, but I do need to ask for either half sugar or no sugar cause it tends to be a little too sweet for me. Service is always good and drinks come out quickly. I see students here all the time studying or hanging out so good spot for that.
Tried this place on a whim and I'm glad I did. Service was fast and friendly and my drink was absolutely delicious. Will be coming back for sure!
Parking lot had a good amount of spaces available even though it was a shared lot. We came around 6:15pm and they weren't busy at all. People started to file in when it was 6:40pm or so! If you are with the reward program make sure you input your number before you pay-- that way if you have any redeemable points you can put them to use! The place had AC which is great for a hot day. And if you want a spot to relax further. You do need a key for the bathroom, they give you one with a rice paddle attached. Reminds me of high school. Just wanted to also mention that the wall near where we sat had some boba splatters at the trim and milk tea drippings. Not sure how long ago the boba has been there, but it would make the space more inviting to sit at if it were clean. Attached a pic! The difference between cup sizes is only 50cents! Get that larger size! I remembered that the brown sugar boba was on the sweeter side so I lowered the amount of sweetness for my drink but I think I could have even went to 25% rather than 50%! I was with my friend so we got: - Lotus Milk Tea, 50% sweet, with Brown Sugar Boba: The lotus milk tea has a delicate and mellow floral taste. They give lots of brown sugar boba which gives it a delicious sweetness, that may slightly overtake the flavor of lotus. But this is one of A Tea 7's most popular drink according to one of the workers. It's a definite must try if you want something new. - Roasted Oolong Milk Tea, 50% sweet, with Grass Jelly: I think I am trying to convince myself I'm a roasted oolong milk tea fan but it's just not for me. Or perhaps if it was 75% sweetened rather than 50%. The grass jelly was light and refreshing, no need to chew -- just swallow. The roasted flavor lowkey reminded me of seaweed or a savory note. Next time I'd go for the honey milk tea! I like this spot for the variety of drinks (they do not just have milk tea but fruit tea and fresh milks). And the multiple choices of toppings!
First impression was good. Opted for the Cookie Monster which had a mixture of tiger and Oreo cookies. So much flavor! I ordered 75% sweet which was a smart choice; I can't imagine how sweet 100% is. Service was super nice from each employee.
A 7 TEA! This place was listed for a pretty high rating and I was super excited to see how this will turn out! It was just about a 10 minute drive from San Diego State! Parking can be a hassle, it's in a small lot but shared with other stores too, so it can get crowded. The service took a bit, the server didn't come to us until after a couple minutes or so, and then we go out drinks! I decided to get the lychee green tea with boba, and my friend got the winter melon boba, with a total of $14. Not too pricey, but the quality wasn't the greatest. Boba was overcooked, the steaming of the tea was as well, and it had a very distinct taste in both of our drinks, kind of like a bitterness despite getting full sugar. Service itself was fast after ordering, we sat and got out drinks almost 3-4 minutes, and they had lots of decor, games, and I enjoy the new year's decoration! I'd recommend stopping by to give this place a try, but the quality should definitely be worked on.
We were initially the only people in the store, then one more after nearing their closing time. The cashier, helpful and answered all our questions. The ambiance is cute, they've got a shrine in the front. See photos. The drink, I must say was fabulous and pretty sweet. I had some of my hubby's drink. He ordered a crème brûlée (Creamsicle) with sub almond milk. Even the brown sugar boba was soft and not chewy like they can get at other places. We were happy to find this place and will go again.
A Tea 7 is the Best place to get boba milk tea in SD! Love all their special-tea drinks, especially the under the weather and bijou!! Please come check them out when you can and treat yourself to some bomb boba!! You deserve it!
My favorite boba spot! Drinks are on point. Have been coming here for years and the drinks are consistently good. My favorite drink is the hidden dragon (a dragonfruit drink). The service was nice and fast. Chill place, i see people come and study or play board games.
An inviting setting with comfortable seating, nice ambiance and pleasant decor along with all the important selection and options of tea, coffee and flavored drinks. Very kind patient and friendly staff, who are willing to go over every component of every drink to ensure you get exactly what you're aiming for. The only caveat I had is that the selection of decaffeinated drinks for adults was almost non existent. I was hoping for an elevated tea beverage later in the day that is more on the healthy side without the caffeine, not just a sweetened flavored drink. something to think about :) overall the drink we got were really good and love that you can choose the sweetness level.
soooo good. we stumbled upon this place after a dinner date, the place was poppin! It was busy and saw it had good reviews (after the fact). I played it safe with a Thai tea and it was super good. I definitely have this spot saved for when I'm in the area again!
perfect tapioca pearls, not too hard to chew, and drinks were smooth!! I also got a pretzel, which was freshly made - warm and tasty! there is a parking lot but we had to park on the street due to road work - it looks like there were empty spots though! service was lovely, lady checked in with us. cute interior too. goated spot fr
The very first time we came here, the cups were sealed with some very thin plastic that broke and spilled our drinks all over ourselves and our car :( I'm glad they've now changed their cups and lids to something sturdier and less accident-prone. The drinks themselves are good and their brown sugar boba is very soft and sweet. The regular boba was harder and not as tasty so definitely opt for brown sugar boba when you can. For some reason all of their crème brûlée and sea salt foam has a hint of coconut milk flavor. I'm very sensitive to flavor so the combination of the coconut milk with my jasmine tea ended up tasting like Gorgonzola (blue cheese). I'm also not a fan of coconut milk in everything, which is why this time I opted for the only scenario where it makes sense: taro & Ube. There was so much good taro paste in this drink. $15 for 2 drinks is a bit pricey compared to other milk tea boba shops, but this is a luxury food. Service was always friendly each time we came. Parking is available in the small parking lot or on the street.
Sinking Violet - a smooth, heavenly blend of Ube and matcha (without added sugar cuz already enough sugar in boba lol). Rich and refreshing way to end a long day in SD! Waiter was kind enough to help me decide between this one and the heavier/chunkier Taro King.
A Tea 7 has a really extensive menu, which was the first thing that stood out to me. They have a Specialteas section where every drink comes in one preset size (large) with the toppings already picked out. There's also a Limited Series, a coffee series, plus all the classic milk teas, fruit teas, and milk based drinks. You still have all the usual customization options for sugar, ice, and toppings. The staff was warm and welcoming from the moment I walked in. Parking was another pleasant surprise. I originally drove past thinking I'd have to search for street parking, but they actually have a shared lot. It made stopping in a lot easier than I expected. I ordered the On Cloud 9, which is a jasmine green milk tea with cheese foam and brown sugar boba. The drink itself was enjoyable. The jasmine wasn't overpowering, which let the cheese foam stand out without completely taking over the drink. I also liked that the sweetness of the brown sugar boba balanced the slight saltiness from the foam. Flavor-wise, I'd say it held its own against other boba shops in San Diego. The only thing that held it back was the boba. It had almost no chew left. Instead of adding texture, it kind of disappeared after one bite because it was so soft. Boba is one of those toppings that can completely change a drink. Even with that, I'd still come back. The menu has way too many interesting drinks to judge the shop off one order. If the boba had been fresher, this easily could've been one of those drinks I'd order again. I think next time I'd branch out and try something from their Limited Series instead. read more
I ordered #2: On Cloud 9 which is the Cheese Foam Jasmine Milk Tea and Boba but I got it without the cheese foam (which maybe defeats the purpose lol) and less sweetness and it was good! I am super sensitive to caffeine and it was adjusted just fine. Cute little boba place to lounge with friends and hang out. Small parking lot. read more
The tea for me is good for the price! I get my mango green tea a quarter sweet because it is already superrrr sweet. I like to add lychee jelly into most my teas. Here they have lychee jelly stars!! They're super cool when you shake your drink. They also don't have the weird film the other lychee jelly's have. The seating area is super cute and festive. They have lots of seating for you to stop by and set up your laptop. The bobaristas are always super nice and patient when I make multiple drink orders. read more

Came here because my little sister recommended it, and I'm glad we did! This boba shop was cute, with plenty of seating and lounge areas. The service was great, we were greeted upon arrival and assisted immediately. The servers were beyond considerate and made sure to ask us if we wanted our drinks adjusted and helped us understand what toppings came in which drinks. We ordered 5 drinks (pictured below) and it came out to $36.04 (without tip). I got the, "Cookie Monster," which was really sweet and delicious with the perfect texture honey bobas. I would say that if I got this drink again, I would adjust the sweetness a little bit, but that's a preference thing. Overall, I really liked this spot. One of the good boba place to go. Inside is cute and clean. Great customer service. We got 3 drinks and it's all very good. The cashier is patient and answered our questions since it was our first time. We love the rice paper snack as well. read more
I saw this location on yelp and since I was nearby I decided to check it out. I thought parking was plentiful but it might have been the time of day. The inside is pretty nice, it has some tables and cute decor. The staff was very friendly and attentive, they made sure to greet all customers and offer any help if needed. My order: 1. Green Thai Tea with brown sugar boba- I didn't love the green thai tea, I normally get the regular Thai Tea, but I LOVED the boba. It was super soft and chewy. Sometimes you will get boba that is soft, but you can tell it's old and falling apart. 4/5 2. Mango milk tea with sea salt foam, mango star jelly and mango crystal boba - My niece thought this was uber delicious. 5/5 3. Crime of Passion with Grass Jelly. (passion fruit with fresh grapefruit- normally comes with mango jellies) My sis said it was pretty good mostly for the fresh grapefruit. 4/5 Oh, one thing I did not like was they charged 50 cents for no ice. There are times I am not going to drink my boba immediately and want to take it home, so I don't want ice in my drink so it melts and dilutes it. Service:5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Food: 4.4/5 read more

They have quick service and good quality ingredients here. As I was ordering with the cashier, the young girl behind the counter was speedily prepping my drink. I waited less than 5 minutes and it was cool to see her make the drink as well. I ordered the oolong milk tea- they have steeped tea instead of instant powder based drinks like lots of other places. They also allow adjustments to sweetness and ice levels. After enjoying my drink, I went back to order a second one to go for my partner. Unfortunately, they had already ran out of boba by 6 pm on a weekday. However, they had several other toppings and were quick to offer their favorite recommendations. As you can see in my photos there is an extensive menu and lots of seating. They also had decorated for the Lunar New Year. read more

First time was alright. Nothing special but nothing really bad. This last time, the boba is totally different - seems like the cook time was lessened as the boba was smaller and firmer. The part I disliked the most was that the boba was soooo sweet. It wasn't overly sweet like this the first time and it ended up making my entire drink too sweet overall. First visit we had the creamsicle and jasmine milk tea. The creamsicle was good, had a pretty nice flavor. The jasmine milk tea was alright flavor wise but too weak and watered down. Needed a stronger brew. I can't even remember what we had the second time. Not a good sign. This last time we had lotus milk tea and on cloud9. The lotus milk tea did not look like the photos posted by other yelpers. Others teas looked like whiteish beige but mine was dark orange beige. The taste was o.k, nothing special but as mentioned earlier - way too sweet from the overly sweet boba. The on cloud9 drink had a jasmine base. Tasted nice but again not fully enjoyable because it was like diluted jasmine tea. I remember initially the boba here was a nice size, cooked nicely with a good level of softness and chew. It was also a good level of sweetness. But unfortunately now it's firm, smaller and way way too sweet. I will say that it's nice that they offer dairy alternatives such as soy, oat and almond. They have fresh milk as well. The scent of the cleaning product used here has been evident every single time we visit. Smells like fabuloso and is very overpowering which for me makes the place less enjoyable because I personally find it more enjoyable to visit a boba shop that smells only of the tea. Also, the chairs are looking very worn out and give the place a sad unmaintained vibe. read more
Came in on a Wednesday afternoon and waited less than 5 minutes. My brown sugar milk tea had a good tea flavor, at 50% sweetness I thought it was perfect. Boba was flavored and chewy as it should be. Seems like a solid local spot with lots of seating and a bathroom! read more

Music is always nice. Seating is good. The workers recommend me my drink today and as always it is so bomb. The crouching tiger is a sweet creamy drink. I would personally get mine a little less sweet. The boba is always fresh and the perfect chewiness. As always Atea7 is my favorite boba and tea chain. 100 recommend read more

Finally a delicious boba place in the neighborhood AND a 5 star rating, I just had to check it out! What I got: -Jasmine green tea w/ mango star jelly ($3.50) - The paramount (75% sugar) ($5.99) The paramount was bombbbb! 75% sugar was the perfect amount of sweetness. The drink was worth the $6! Their boba is pretty good too, chewy. Lots of seating here. Parking located in the back of the building! Make sure to enter your phone number for points! Check my photos for the menu. read more
Again, I didn't know this place was here since I didn't know about Sushi Factory next door. But my students wanted to go here after sushi and I thought, why not? Definitely did not know what to get...I think the owner said if it was my first time, try a specialty tea. I ordered the Tropical Paradise with guava and hibiscus green tea, with rainbow jellies and extra bobba, oh and 50% less sugar. I really like that option! Mine was sooooo good! The girl who helped us was very patient. The interior is cute and inviting, and we hung out for a while. I would definitely stop back by or perhaps treat my students again! read more
Cool fun place to come for hanging out w/ my G-daughter after school! Plenty of yummy boba drinks from which to choose! I love the seating areas for hanging out. It's so cute. And there are games available to play if you want. The service is friendly and they do a good job with customizing drinks as needed. Olive-Grace's favorite is the crème brûlée topping on whatever tea she is getting that day. And of course the boba and the star jellys are fun! If you want something indulgent, get the #7 Creamsicle. It's fire. There's plenty of parking in back. So no worries. Just don't exit on the 54th St side. Too much traffic there. Glad we found this place. Will keep coming back for more fun n drinks! read more

Brown Sugar Milk Tea with Boba Really bummed about this place. We were looking for a Boba place close to Kroc Center Ice since we were on our way to watch a friend's hockey game. This place was really close by! But was a disappointment. I ordered my drink at 0% sugar, and somehow it was still so ridiculously sweet that I could not finish it. My friend typically likes her drinks sweeter and she gave up on her drink too. Interior is small and cute, staff friendly, but sad about the drink quality. read more

Ok so I wanted to check this Boba tea spot to see what they offer. It's on a Main Street however lots of parking in the back and the style is cute with lots of seating areas. Service hands down 5 stars very friendly and gave me some options and ideas. Quick service. Many options to pick from and a little different from what I'm used to which is great because I hate going places that have the same stuff. Good variety. As far as food items go I guess I didn't notice because their tea choices were fabulous. read more
I've been coming here for 3 years and I can't express enough that this is the BEST in San Diego. I'm a milk tea addict and always try the new spots all over town but A Tea 7 still tops it. Quality!! Their milk tea is always consistent, even when I adjust sugar/ice levels, they ALWAYS do it right! The boba is LITERALLY THE BEST. Soft, warm like a cloud, perfectly smothered in brown sugar & honey. I can never get over it! 5 stars! read more

AFFORDABLE AF BOBA (3 stars) - no parking in the front, since the front is El Cajon blvd. but parking lot in the back. - cheap boba - it's ok, not bad yet not amazing "The best bubble tea in town" - said the print on the cup. But def not in my opinion. Maybe "best bubble tea prices in town" is more like it. VERY affordable and perfect for those broke college students in the area or anyone who doesn't think bubble tea should cost over $7. Too lazy to go to convoy, find parking, and wait in line for some good boba and decided to stray away from try something new. I am never, if ever, barely come to this neck of the woods for anything but I wanted to "just try". TARO MILK TEA ($3.99) - they had brown sugar boba pearls but they don't have honey boba pearls. Meh. It's ok, def had better... elsewhere. WINTERMELON LOTUS MILK TEA ($3.99) - 75% sweet. It was ok, something about the flavor was a little blander than other places. Not because the sweetness was reduce, in general the taste was bland. Boba pearls... soft and gooey at first. Then eventually they start to harden. If our in the fridge, they get harder. Not my cup of boba. I prefer the good boba pearls that stay soft. Until the next review... read more
