Traveling through town and found this incredible restaurant. Everything was fantastic from the caprese tower to the mouth watering halibut and the apple tart. Actually, have never eaten at Bacquets, but tried to..Table for four, and asked to play bridge after. was told yes, we could, but a $100 fee to play bridge, and they told us they were not a senior center..went to The Stuffed Olive in eagle, enjoyed a superb lunch, and there was no fee for bridge. Wow! To the chefs wife at Bacquets...we actually were extremely disappointed in your decision to charge $100 fee to play bridge...nothing mutual agreed upon! We have played bridge at Cottonwood Grill, Bella Aquila, Oak Barrel, and The Stuffed Olive, enjoyed gourmet food, and no $100 fee for bridge!!! Double wow to Michele at Bacquets.!!! Bridge group today at fine restaurant...seems they have overhead expenses too, just like you.... Amazing place for dinner. Our night started with a reservation. When we arrived they did. It have a seat for us but the owner. I belle gave us all a glass of wine and got us a seat a short tome after that. The food was amazing. The service spectacular. Everything we had was cooked perfectly. Not one complaint. We didn't get any photos because it was so darn good. Got to meet the chef who let my husband see the kitchen and wow. What a wonderful meal we had for lunch today. My mom had been wanting to try this place so we went today for lunch. It's a beautiful restaurant and they have a nice patio for outdoor dining also. We had chicken piccata and pork Parisian, along with chocolate mousse for dessert. We highly recommend this casual but fine dining establishment. We had a fabulous dinner last Thursday! We started with delicious wine to drink and Escargot and Oysters Rockefeller....AMAZING! Our group ordered the Prime Rib, Duck, Lamb, Scallops and Veal Piccata and everyone absolutely LOVED our entrees. We even had a visit from the owner and Chef himself who was cooking on his birthday. Met friends there last week for a fabulous meal on the patio. The food was excellent and Amy's service was fun, playful and spot on. We had a nice Sauvignon Blanc to share over appetizers and them move on to 3 prime rib specials and the pork medallions with port and Gorgonzola sauce. The prime rib was tender and delicious and the pork was fantastic, especially the port Gorgonzola sauce. The food was great but the service and the patio experience put it over the top. Great wine selection too. We will definitely go back on our next trip to Boise. read more

First timers to this lovely restaurant. The background music was perfect. The server was friendly and attentive. The salad was 10 out of 10 and the bread was warm and tasted fresh from the oven. My wife and I had the very special experience of dining at Bacquet's last night. It was a true delight from the warm welcome offered by Michele B. as we entered the restaurant to chatting with Chef Franck later in the evening after enjoying exquisite meals. My wife had the lamb and it was cooked to perfection and was a delight. My veal piccata was outstanding. I began with the French onion soup and it was as advertised - onion soup like you have never had. To top off the evening we shared the wonderful chocolate mousse for dessert. My wife commented that there were so many items on the menu that she would like to try, especially after chatting with patrons at an adjoining table who were effusive in their praise of their menu selections that were different than ours. The service was outstanding and the whole dining experience was first class. We look forward to returning to Bacquet's in the future. If you have not had the opportunity to dine there, we highly recommend it. There is nothing like it in the Treasure Valley. read more

I really hate to give a poor rating but I want to warn anyone making a reservation on a Valentine's Day weekend. We ate here for the first time in January and it was beyond excellent. So much so that we invited two couples to come with us. I have been raving about this place to everyone. I called to make the reservation the night before as we came a month before and they were all booked and couldn't seat us that night. We came tonight to a table that was all ready for us and had a menu sitting on each plate. After some lengthy chat I picked up my menu and it was a five course meal and I was a little confused. The waiter came and informed us they had a special set valentines menu for the evening. I wish I had known when I talked to the lady I made the reservation with because we probably would not have picked that particular night to come with guests who had never been there before. The oysters were very good. The asparagus was excellent. The shrimp w/ pasta was good but with my husbands health condition he cannot handle spicy right now and it was above average spicy. So much so that another of our friends couldn't eat it either as she didn't care for spicy food. Then the beef with potatoes and a chocolate sauce. It was ok. Just ok. Meat was not cooked to order. Mine was good, my husbands was not and yet another one of our friends left most of hers on her plate. I am not a picky eater and I didn't care for the sauce which looking around the table I felt was unanimous. We aren't accustomed to complaining amongst each other so no one said anything. The dessert was very good but one of our friends doesn't like cherries. So ultimately every one of us didn't like or couldn't eat something. Had we the option to choose from a menu this would have been a very different review. Had I known this was a set menu we would not have made the reservation that evening. I hope we can get our friends back again but after tonight I think we will let them decide on their own and not make it a group dinner. My complaint is not the food. It is cooked to perfection. However I didn't know I was coming to a meal on a set menu which was not conducive to our group that night. That was disappointing at $150/couple. read more

I am from Portland Oregon, known for great food, resturant service and of course Pinot. I have luncheoned at the Four Season (NYC), worked the line at Restuarant Gary Danko and on first name basis with many of Portland's best chef's and owners. In short I enjoy the entire process of dinning. So as you might surmise it is with some regret I need to post about the abysmal experience my family was treated to Bacquet's. We learned of this spot via a local service and our Boise family was excited to try a new spot in Eagle where good food and service were purported to exist. So my sister-in-law called for reservations. We were told we could dine inside or out as they would set both for us. Well. we got there in about 30 minutes as promised. As we walked up we saw a party of 6 being seated at a very nice table: complete with umbrella coverage and place settings. We checked in and asked for our outside seating arrangement only to be told ' we have you inside' which is what you requested'. Well not so much, as I was next to my sister in law and heard exactly what was said by both parties. Thus the evening starts with the host lying to our face. It did not get any better. The host, somewhat peeved found, seating for us. She moved tables together with umbrella, threw on a couple placemats then she spent about 3 to 5 minutes chatting with the nice persons recently seated at what we figured to be 'our' table before indicating to where we to be seated. We sat down as directed and awaited water (85 ish in the shade) and the last two place mats and settings. None of which were exactly forthcoming. A very pleasant waitress arrived in due course and started the process of completing our table setting and then promptly disappeared for sometime. When she returned she brought menus and I asked for a wine list which she said was nonexistent but I could get up from my table venture inside to look over thier selection of wines set on shelves, an offer from which I demurred. I inquired as to what Rose might be served and she made recommendation and off she went. This was not a wine which they could locate directly and again we waited fairly complacently while said bottle was located and I bet chilled. Now we had wine,water and menus all seemed fine albeit disjointed and tardy. We needed a minute to look for appetizers so she was off again and back in somewhat timely manner. We ordered grilled chokes and wished to await their being served as we looked over the menu and visited. It seems I made a second error here as theses took quite a while but not with standing we were enjoying the company of our family. These were brought to our table by another server and we awaited our server while we watched as she attended several other tables. I stopped the second server and asked if he could take our order which did not seem to please him but our server showed up post haste.This all will have taken about an hour & 15. It was now about 8:15 ish but we were not deterred and ordered directly. We finished the Rose and requested corkage service for our Oregon Pinot (corkage at $ 30 a bit steep for Eagle). The food did arrive and boy were the local reviews were generous. Most dishes were over sauced, some with luke-warm pasta, and a couple mostly over cooked. But as you might guess we were resigned to eating and getting 'outa dodge' ... But I was not to continue to be so so clever, I approached the hosted gave her my credit card and asked .. as our dinner process had taken an inordinately long time and as I had purchased a bottle of wine might the corkage be waived. 'No big deal' I insisted just honest questions honest answers. Well darn, the server came to me after about 10 minutes and asked if i would come into the resturant and discuss with the Chef their timing and I said no thanks, it was not a big deal yes or no either way was fine just bring me the bill. It did not stop with that ... Out they came eyes bulging and nostrils flared with computer sheets in hand ready to defend their service ... to all this said I was not going to debate all this. I was then treated to a berating over the fact they had to keep the lights on (corkage) and they had done everything well and I was a bore who had mistreated their staff and denigrated thier establishment ... OBTW I was informed in a loud screeching voice that we should leave & never return .. which as you might guess was a request we were all too willing to grant. Boys and girls in my opinion if you wish to prove my review incorrect I would hurry there as I do not think it will be open too much longer. But then there is always Bella Aquila, Chandler's (say to Rex for me )and the Cotton Wood grill where your time, money and palate might be better served. Awesome dinner and service with Mandy, plus Steve on the piano was great he was not too loud and had a great voice. My wife had the duck and we eat that often when out dining it was superb and I had the seafood fettucine which I don't normally eat when going out but it was very good. We heard about this brand new, awesome restaurant from our talented friend, singer/songwriter musician, Steve Eaton, who performed there on Thursday night & Saturday night.....so we went to meet a friend there on the lovely patio on Saturday night....we arrived too late to hear Steve but instead had a delightful visit at a table with him & his wife, Judy & another couple (friends of theirs) But what a fantastic experience we had when it came to dining....and I say "dining" because it truly was a FINE dining experience. Todd, our waiter, was so accommodating & politely friendly ~ just awesome! Since I began this review weeks ago, we went back to see Steve perform again there.....it was as good ~ no BETTER even than our first visit. Chef/Owner Franck came out to the patio & sat with us for a lovely conversation along with his sweet wife, who handles the service & front of the house operations.....super nice people!! We love supporting locally owned & operated businesses and we HIGHLY RECOMMEND this WONDERFUL French restaurant....can't wait to go back again for another amazing dinner & fantastic wine as well only this time during the Autumn and/or winter season for the foods of the season as well as the chance to dine INSIDE the beautiful restaurant (though patio dining will always be my favorite ~ it's awesome to enter a warm, welcoming restaurant where the aromas of hearty meals of the season fill the space! Best quiche I've ever had in my life! The quiche is reasonably priced and available as a regular lunch item. Have had a delicious salmon dish as a lunch special... excellent, with perfectly seasoned rice accompaniment. One fish dinner I had was good, but rather pricey. Warning!!! The French serve whole fish with the head attached! Next time I'll ask to have it removed if I order a similar item! As you can tell, I'm not a sophisticated gourmand, but the environment is friendly and down-to-earth, so it doesn't matter. The food is outstanding! Probably the best restaurant in Eagle. read more
