Went for lunch and got the $12 lunch menu Soup was great with way too much cream. The Quiche lorraine was tasteless felt like reheated in the microwave If you've ever been to Alsace you should know this is not a quiche lorraine so either learn how to do it right or rename it. The dough was wrong, the cheese was wrong, the taste was wrong, the structure was wrong ! Absolutely the best restaurant we have found in 20 years in the Boise area. The food was truly outstanding, highly recommend the onion soup and salad with lardons. In addition the special our night was boeuf bourguignon and it was just incredible. The atmosphere was warm and transports you to a bistro in France, and the service was just perfect. I would have taken a picture of the food but it was so good I ate it in 2 seconds. Started with the pear and Gorgonzola flat bread. Crust was light and crispy. Gorgonzola was real not fake American. Then had veal Marsala. It was excellent! Tender and the sauce was delish! I forgot about the French bread! Excellent! The butter came soft in a scallop shell. We had real Champaigne. 12$ a glass. Neither my wife nor I drink wine and we have never been regular connoisseurs of French food, so this restaurant would not have been our natural choice. However, with the positive Yelp and Google reviews we decided to give it a shot. Even though we had both built up our appetites from work, my Seafood Pasta tasted so bad I couldn't finish it and I left hungry. Located in downtown Eagle, first time here for anniversary dinner - we made reservations for a Thursday night. Live music (jazzy pop) in the bar area added to the warm and open ambience. We were fortunate enough to be able to get tickets to a seven course food and wine pairing and I am thankful we did. Not only was the wine top notch but the food paired by the chef was remarkable. We will definitely return to enjoy his mastery of cooking and look forward to future exciting morsels to tempt our palate. What a wonderful surprise this place was. If you are anywhere near Eagle Idaho you need to dine here. My wife had the lamb tenderloin while I had the duck. This restaurant is a new addition to Eagle's dining scene. Franck Bacquet is a well known chef in the area. Some of his restaurant associations are L'Coq Rouge, Angell's, and L'Coq D'or. The restaurant's decor is mostly French bistro style---earth tones, accompanied by posters and old photos of Montmartre and other well known destinations. The most notable feature is a large chandelier, fit for a baronial hall! It's a great focal point near the kitchen and wine cellar area. The menu is handwritten and illustrated by Franck. It's divided into appetizers, seafood, meat, a lunch menu, and a patio menu. The food has some classic French components, like the escargot grand-mere, rack of lamb(which they were out of tonight), and tarte flambe(an Alsatian specialty.) The rest of the menu has Italian flavors---veal piccata, ravioli with truffles, caprese tower. We were dining with another couple and we chose to share entrees, remembering the generous portions that Franck served at other establishments. I chose escargot grand-mere, my husband had coquilles au gratin and our friends shared ravioli with truffle. The escargot were served in the traditional garlic butter in a porcelain dish and were as I remembered. It's nice not to have to struggle with shells and clamps like the old way of serving snails. I mopped up the sauce with the rest of the bread in the basket! My husband was not as happy with his dish as he was expecting a more creamier version of coquilles st. Jacques. The ravioli with truffle looked beautiful and our friends seemed to enjoy them. My husband and I chose Pork Gorgonzola---pork medallions in a gorgonzola cream sauce with a carmelized pear, fingerling potatoes,brussels sprouts, and roasted root vegetables as well as roasted endive(a treat!) Our friends had Boeuf Forestier--rib eye with mushroom bacon sauce with root vegetables done medium rare. It was a very thick steak, nicely cooked and very flavorful and tender. The pork medallions were pounded thin, sauteed and cooked in a nicely flavored creamy sauce. We all ordered dessert---raspberry layer cake, tuxedo cake, and creme brulee. All delicious and enjoyed by all! Fresh brewed coffee made it complete. As this restaurant is new, there was no wine list. The server listed the wines by the glass. I noticed other people ordering bottles, so I guess one has to ask, or peruse the many bottles of good vintage that is on the shelves near the back of the restaurant. It's great to see a new restaurant in town. There is also a patio area and live music is featured every evening. There were many folks out there this evening enjoying the nice weather, a good meal, and some mellow sounds of a female vocalist and keyboard player. I wasn't disappointed Chef was very gracious and his Rose Wine paring with our Seafood and Pheasant dinners was amazing. Food is good but maybe not really worth the price and patio nice as well but shares patio with the gym next door. I recently celebrated my birthday with 10 family members at Bacquet. We all raved about the food and experience. This was the best meal that I have had in years! Our waiter was personable, professional and very attentive. The owner continually checked in and took great care of us. Each course and the the wine served with it were fantastic. All of our food came out at the same time (which is no small feat for a group of 10). We all highly recommend this restaurant. If you live outside of Eagle it is worth the drive. Your missing out if you don't give it a try. We are going back one week later for our anniversary dinner. Enjoy!! read more

Lovely, lovely food. We were just in France last year, and while much of the current menu (it is changing this week) is widely European, the techniques are on-point for the kind of exceptional food we found throughout Paris. I had the best scallops of my life: beautifully cooked, and so fresh and sweet. Chef Baquet is picky about his proteins, and it shows. All the sauces were nuanced, layered with flavor, and perfectly seasoned. We could not be more thrilled to live 1/4 mile from this restaurant, and will be back again and again! read more

We were a party of 7 and the restaurant was barely just opened about a week. I just read some of the reviews after speaking with my daughter who lives in Eagle with her family in their new house and realized that I had not written a review about one of the best meals I've had. The atmosphere was lovely. The wait staff was lovely and my food was wonderful. I actually went over to the owner and his wife to tell them how great the dinner was and tried to get him to move to Ormond Beach, FL where I live. I had the oysters with saffron and it was a delight from start to finish. I always rate a restaurant on how their bread is and their bread was great. They told me it comes from a local bakery and I wish the bakery would also move to Ormond Beach. When I return to visit my family in Eagle I will certainly make Bacquet's a must go. Wm. J.
