My wife and I live literally across the street and wanted something not so ordinary and stumbled into Bacquet's for dinner. She had the Veal Picatta Madison and I had the Pork Gambas. I have to say this is about the best meal we have had here in Eagle and can highly recommend the restaurant. Oh, did I say how charming the decor and outside patio are? We will be back soon...... Saturday evening my wife and I walked over to Bacquet's for dinner. Our first visit was so good we decided to treat ourselves again. This time she had the Salmon over a bed of rice and vegetables in a creamy sauce - she smiled with glee and said - extraordinary! I opted for the other pork dish Pork Gorgonzola Dolce instead of the duck (really tough choice) and was again just delighted. Joined it with a splendid glass of Cotes De Rhône while my wife tried the Chocolate Mousse. We were so excited that when Sidney delivered our plates we forgot to take any photos. This is a new restaurant from longtime Boise chef Franck Bacquet. A native of France, the cuisine naturally leans heavily in that direction, but with influences from other European culinary traditions. Chef Bacquet previously owned Le Coq Rouge in Boise and subsequently cooked at Chateau des Fleurs and Angell's. This was simply one of the finest meals we've had in Idaho, or anywhere else for that matter. It's not fast food -- we had a leisurely 2-hour-plus evening, unrushed, savoring every bite while enjoying the live music on the spacious patio outside. The wine list is small but thoughtfully selected to pair perfectly with the food. We had a lovely bottle of Muscadet to go with shared appetizers and a knock-out Sancerre with the main course (scallops baked with saffron). Those in our group who ordered the creme brulee agreed it was extraordinary. Menu prices are about what you'd expect at any of the Boise area's finer dining establishments. Our tab for four was about $300, including two wines, shared appetizers & dessert, and coffee (plus tip). We dined on only the 8th day since opening, and the wait staff was still working out a few kinks. But we felt very well attended to and appreciated the convivial attention from Chef Bacquet and his wife Michele. The space is casual and the tables reasonably spaced. The high ceilings might make for a higher-than-normal noise level on a busy night, but it wasn't an issue during our visit. We're thrilled to have a fine-dining option like Bacquet's nearby. This restaurant is great. The staff is personable and the atmosphere is fun. Our table started with a seafood flatbread. It's crispy crust came embellished with flavorful, tender shrimp and scallops with a rich pesto sauce. It was excellent. The chef composed a lovely meal with a perfectly cooked Kobe coulatte steak. He complimented it with a flavorful mushroom sauce, scalloped potatoes and steamed vegetables. What a treat! My two dinner companions were equally pleased with their selections. I have to admit I'd seen some raving reviews about Bacquet's in the past, not just about the food, but also the people (owners and staff)Turns out it took a chance drive-by to bring me through the door. The atmosphere was very nice... the food, WOW! my wife had chicken piccata, I had the best seafood salad I believe I've ever had. we finished with chocolate mousse and creme brulee; again absolutely excellent. Have been there for lunch throughout last spring/summer and looooove dining there. I feel like i am back in France. The seafood appetizer and the duck l'orange are 2of my fav's. Also i love their Prosecco/sparkling wine. Such a nice trip to France for me aline or w/a friend. Truly my fav restaurant. The staff is VERY classy and friendly. Only small negative comment is service is a little slow but i take advantage of that to slow down, sip on my wine and enjoy the beauty of the restaurant and reflect. Great small French restaurant with a variety of other dishes available. The service is impeccable. They are attentive, patient and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is like a small French cafe. The French onion soup is exquisite with melted cheese overflowing the bowl. The house salad is fresh and bursting with flavor. Every dish I have had has been so wonderful to eat. The crust of the quiche is soft and flaky. The creme brulee is to die for. If you are a vegetarian, ask for "Gary's Vegetables" and the story of its creation. Tonight was our first take-out from Bacquet's and they did not disappoint!! My husband and I shared a smoked prime rib meal and it was nothing less than amazing! They brought it out to the car at precisely my prearranged pickup time. Everything was so carefully bagged and packaged, the salad was fresh & crisp with creamy vinaigrette, the baguette warm & crusty, the prime rib cooked perfectly with a nice savory crust and mouthwatering, tender center. HUGE portions of prime rib, mashed potatoes and roasted carrots, with au jus & horseradish. And to finish it off, a divine slice of layered cake with tiramisu flavors. Franck and Michelle are amazing restaurant owners that have created a truly unique dining experience. Franck culinary expertise shines in each of his meals. The menu changes each day and you need to email to receive a copy by in advance. This extra step is the beginning of your adventure. Once you have decided what you want to order you will be escorted to the wine library where you can get assistance in picking out the the perfect pairing. Escargot is a speciality and delicious. Tonight we had the Pork Gorgonzola Dolce and the special of the evening, baked scallops served in a shell. OMG both dinners were amazing. So much flavor. Baquet's did it, again. A meal to remember, and to want again. And again! The most scrumptious lasagna I've ever eaten. Every mouthful a savored delight, and portions ginormous. Fresh salad of mixed greens, brightened with their own dressing. Crunchy crusted bread with pillowy soft middle. Ended with a light and luscious strawberry layer cake. All of this generously feeding 4 for just under $100. Pre-COVID, we loved dining here. But Baquet's continues to care for their customers with pick- up or free delivery of their fabulous meals. Escargot was good (but needed more garlic & seemed to be more in oily unsalted butter) and also I think $17ish for 5 I think of them. Food is my love language! The truffle ravioli spoke to my heart. If there hadn't been so many people I would have wept tears of joy with the love I felt while using the crusty bread to soak up the amazing sage butter and balsamic reduction that these delightful little love pockets were served in. The house bubbly French champagne was beautiful . I had two glasses and enjoyed both. It took me forever to decide on the salmon belly with the scallops and a beautiful saffron cream sauce because the whole menu looked delightful. The immense pleasure that I got from this flavor combination was orgasmic. It was almost impossible to contain my moans of ecstasy luckily that was about the time the live music started. My husband got some sort of magical steak with mushrooms and yum sauce. It was so good that I may have eaten more than half of his meal as well. You would think at this point that I would know better but the bubbles had already gotten to my head so I ordered the decadent apple desert for two. It was so good that I can't even imagine ever eating a store bought desert again. It was seriously a life changing desert and it fed my soul. Now here I am hours later and so full asking myself why I would think that any normal person should be able to over indulge the way that I did tonight. Here's to 16 years of marriage and our new favorite restaurant. My husband and I snagged one of the last reservations available last night so we could celebrate my birthday. We shared the French onion soup and a caprese tower appetizer. Both were very good and filling portions. I ordered the seafood pasta entree and he had the blueberry duck confit. You also get fresh bread with butter that is delicious! Everything was cooked to perfection and while it is a pricy restaurant, you get generous portions and you can tell that the chef uses high quality ingredients. It's upscale food with a more laid back friendly vibe, you don't need to dress fancy to fit in (but you can if you want to!) The live music wasn't too loud like it can be in some restaurants which I appreciated. Even though we were stuffed, we ordered the lemon cheesecake to share for dessert. They don't have a wine list, instead they have a wine library in the back and you can sample the different wines before you buy a glass. I saw the chef helping some people decide what wine to get. The bread and the opera cake were good - made offsite as I understand it. Unfortunately not a stellar dining experience otherwise. * In response to the comment from the owner, Michelle - wow, you are something else. We did not encounter you in the restaurant at all. In fact we had very pleasant and friendly exchanges with your staff. The quality of the food and the gimicky wine situation is not their fault. It was our efficient and friendly server who told us the opera cake was made by a French baker in town and not in house. Just a thought, but in looking at other reviews that are not positive, you seem to always blame the customer. Why is that? 2nd follow up. This is becoming strange and a little embarrassing for you. We don't do snark, especially with a server who is clearly doing their best and for something that isn't their fault. We actually had very pleasant interactions with our server and zero interactions with you. Aside from some quality issues, we enjoyed our evening. This place is unbelievably RUDE!!!! My parents are brand new to Eagle ID and we saw this cute restaurant while driving around and decided around 1 pm to make a reservation for dinner for 3 and a baby. The waitress working assured us that a reservation wasn't really needed and we would be able to sit inside or outside no problem. So we decided to make a reservation for that night. Later in the afternoon we called to to change the reservation by one hour and they said absolutely no problem. This is where it gets upsetting. We come on time for our reservation and the waitress who took our reservation informs us she only has a table for two not 3 and no baby unless we sit outside. We told her unfortunately cause it's 93 degrees out and we have a baby that's not going to work. We explained that she had told us when we made the reservation that it wouldn't matter if we were inside or out and now we can't even be accommodated at ALL??? Really????? She then said she would see what she could do. So then another woman who was maybe a manager / Owner comes over and says the same thing and basically lets us know they are full for the night in the entire restaurant with reservations and there will be no way they can accommodate us unless we want to sit outside with a baby in 93 degrees. Its now after 7 pm and we have to find a new place for dinner. There were also plenty of tables inside not being used, yet zero accommodations were even offered to be made. We come from the service industry and understand things happen but to have zero flexibility especially when it was the restaurants mistake is unbelievable. Also when we told the manager/ possible Owner that this was very disappointing and unfortunately we won't be back she smiled at us and said OK BYE! Really??? We won't be back and it's unfortunate because this place seemed like it was going to be a great place to celebrate my birthday. In response to the Owner Michelle's response to my review I would like to also say, Michelle was not there when my mother and I made the reservation earlier in the day.... Only the waitress was during a not very busy lunch hour. The waitress was very nice and very accommodating when we made the reservation and again assured us we would be able to sit inside or out when we came in for our dinner reservation that evening. Again Michelle was not there so how would she know what we were told!!!!! Michelles VERY rude responses and flat out lies about this situation just proves how entitled she feels as a business owner by bashing and insulting a potential customer. It was absolutely the restaurants mistake and telling me I sound like a entitled spoiled child is not only unprofessional but also shows Michelles true character. Having grown up in a small family business my whole life I can say we would NEVER in our business treat or respond to a customers review in this rude insulting way! We just had the best St. Patrick's Day meal ever. Corned beef and cabbage with potatoes and carrots sounds pretty standard, but somehow Bacquet's made it into a gourmet feast. There was plenty of food for two people, but on top of that they included a shepherd's pie. Also pretty standard fare, one would think. Lamb, some vegetables, stewed under a pile of mashed potatoes. But once again, they turned a low brow meal item into a truly delicious dish. We have had many good meals at Bacquet's Restaurant, and will continue to go there frequently. read more

The service was exceptional, our salmon and duck were delicious & my favorite part is that there's no wine list..instead you walk over to the "wine library" where the staff will help you select a bottle according to your taste or your dinner selection!
