New York Steak cooked well done with mushrooms no gravy. Not what I was expecting "over cooked"
John C.

The restaurant has a nice ambiance and great service. The food is good but my plate off today. I ordered the New York Steak "Med" with mushrooms and gravy. I got a well done firm steak and dry mushrooms no gravy. Not what I was expecting for the most expensive item on the menu. The rest of the food was great.

We tried Baci during Dine Out Vancouver & it was a very good deal...food & service all good. We happened to be there when a group of newly minted Canadians were celebrating their citizenship, which added to the celebratory ambience

They only serve special menus on weekends. Packed place when we got there (probably because of dance night), and waited around 20 minutes before server came. Bad first impression already. Special menus feature 3 courses. The food was just so bad, it tastes like something I could easily make. Appetizer bread was too crumbly, veal was not tender, and tiramisu was way too sweet. Will not be coming back.

Vongole

Lovely ambiance - we came when 2 birthday parties began to arrive. There was a dance floor and they have live music starting at 9. The service was so timely, efficient, and quick. I came seeking for vongole and it did not disappoint! The only note is that food can be seasoned a bit more but my vongole had more than enough clams!!

Amazing service. Just moved in the area and loved the food. The waiter was very attentive and kind which added to the whole experience.

Seafood linguine

Fine dining prices without the food to match. To start, the bread in the bread basket was a bit stale and uninteresting. We tried to order mussels to start but they were already out of them even though it was only 5pm. The seafood linguine was good. The pasta and sauce were done right, but the seafood itself was mediocre. The one mussel in the dish was delicious. I would have preferred a few prawns or large shrimp instead of a bunch of tiny shrimp. Some tender calamari slices would have also been nice. The spaghetti with meatballs was heavy on meatballs for any carnivores out there. However, the sauce was sour and not very balanced.

Gnocchi Ai Tre Formaggi with shrimp added

We came here for the first time as they are participating in Dine Out Vancouver- we each opted for the 3 course meal for $35. Our waiter was very on top of it- he was very helpful when we asked for wine, protein addition and pasta suggestions. The food is well priced but their cocktails are a bit steep- $9 for a single shot. My fiancé had the Caesar salad, Linguine Del Pescatore and tiramisu. The waiter made sure my fiancé was aware of the sauce which jt came with (it's a basic olive oil, herbs and garlic) and provided the option of a tomato based sauce instead if he preferred. However, my fiancé had it the way it comes and was very happy with it. There was a good amount of seafood throughout. I myself had the Caprese salad, Gnocchi Ai Tre Formaggi and creme brûlée. The caprese salad was very good. The gnocchi (which I added shrimp to) is not the best I've had but was a solid 8/10 the only complaint I have is that the sauce was quite salty. I told the waiter this and he explained this is due to the three cheeses being used- no extra salt is added. He offered to get me something else instead but I said it was fine, I just wanted him to be aware. He still went above and beyond and brought me an extra side of what I think was Alfredo sauce and adding this to my pasta really did help cut down the salt! I was very impressed with his service. Desserts were good but nothing over the top amazing. I appreciate that the tiramisu is more of a cake than a pudding and it did have good flavour. The creme brûlée could have been cooked a bit more but was still tasty. Overall, we would return based on the great service and good food at realistic prices.

Surprised at the 3.5 start rating Wow, we're talking 5+ here Lovely atmosphere Very attentive service Good wine Good prices Good parking in back I'm coming back Good portions Live music on weekends Dance floor

We did the Vancouver Dine Out event at Baci with a couple of friends. We have been to Baci before and we've never been disappointed with the food. The $35 menu had decent choices for the 3 course meal. We chose salads, mains & dessert All the food items were good. Atmosphere was very nice . The only complaint I am going to make us the location of the bathroom, it is located downstairs otherwise a lovely place to have dinner.

Veal scaloppini Al la limone

There are not a lot of places that offer dinner, live music and dancing. Great ambiance. The prices are high for the quality. It was good but nothing special. But they do have the music and dancing. No craft beers on tap. Wine was very pricey.

Everything we ordered was outstanding. We had the meatballs, Caprese salad, mushroom bruschetta, and the Bolognese pasta, and every single dish was full of flavor. It's rare to leave a restaurant already planning your next visit, but the meal was so good that we're coming back again tomorrow. Our server, Angela, was wonderful. She was friendly, welcoming, attentive, and had such a positive disposition throughout the evening. She checked on us regularly and even tracked down a Coke Zero for us, which was greatly appreciated. I also want to recognize one of the managers (Asian male). While making his rounds through the dining room, he noticed that we hadn't been given plates after our food was delivered. Before we even had to ask, he quickly brought them over and handled the situation smoothly and professionally. It's those little moments of attention to detail that make a difference. The atmosphere was lively and enjoyable. The restaurant was busy, FIFA was on the TVs, music was playing, and it created a fun, energetic dining experience. I can't compare it to the previous menu because this was our first visit, but if this is the new direction, congratulations to the entire team. You absolutely nailed it. 5 out of 5 stars. We'll definitely be back.

Mood lighting and soft music, and nice white table Napkin service. For the price and quality of food..you can't go wrong here. Tons of free parking around too. Nice sorta open kitchen concept, where you see the Italian maestro at work. Looks like an Italian grandpa to be honest. My fav dish was the seafood one with fish and shrimps. It was loaded with generous pieces and finished perfectly with a touch of white wine and vodka sauce. The pesto one was also good. Not too overpowering, with a touch of crème fresh. The burrata was also so good. Freshly made and complimented by a nice drizzle of olive and balsamic. Another winner is the house bread which you can keep in asking for. Hot off the oven and comes with olive oil/balsamic dip. So hearty and good. Service was efficient, although our server seems to be wanting to rush us. Constantly hovering and asking and taking plates away. I get it's the holiday season, but there were so many tables available. I like the location as it's not that far from DT and parking is safe and plentiful. Ambiance is like an old mafia restuarant where Gino is in the back and the soprano is eating right at the table next to you. Yes, i would repeat and try the other entrees. Cheers! Happy eating!

The tagliatelle had a silky texture and the sauce was beautifully balanced -- subtle, but packed with flavor. You can tell the pasta is fresh and made with care. Service was attentive and friendly throughout, never rushed, and the staff seemed genuinely happy to be there. The only thing I'd note is that the portion sizes were on the smaller side. It was such a nice experience the last time that we decided to go again. What a disappointment. We shared the same pasta we had the last time and it was still really good Zio Italiano. For entrees my husband had the pizza special of the day and it was disappointing. We did not care for the taste and the crust was soggy. My husband had roast duck the last time we were there, and it was so good that I decided on it for my entree. Our waitress said that it was served medium rare. Duck breast generally is served medium rare so I didn't have an issue with this. When it came to the table it wasn't just rare it was raw. I couldn't cut it with my knife and I sent it back to the kitchen. I had a caprese salad - very expensive at $19.00. It was good but I've had much better. A man, who I believe was probably the manager came to the table to check on us and apologized for the duck. We shared a creme brulee for dessert. With a bottle of one of the reasonably priced wines at $60.00 our meal with tip was almost $200.00. Definitely not worth the money. It was so different from our last experience. It's unlikely that we would return. I gave it 5* last time. What a difference. From the window-shaped mirrors to the vintage décor on the walls, every corner feels warm and thoughtfully designed. They also have an adorable backyard patio that I didn't notice until I was leaving. Had I known, I definitely would have chosen to enjoy brunch out there. The food, however, was a bit underwhelming. It leans heavily toward a simple, family-style Italian breakfast--comforting, healthy, and lightly seasoned rather than rich or indulgent. The presentation is also quite rustic instead of picture-perfect. We ordered two pork belly dishes: the Pork Belly Benedict, which swaps the traditional English muffin for focaccia, and the Baked Polenta with stewed tomatoes, creamy polenta, glazed pork belly, and eggs. The eggs in both dishes were closer to soft-boiled than the runny poached eggs I was expecting. Overall, everything tasted fresh but quite mild, and honestly felt like something that could be recreated at home without too much effort. The service was also a little slow. We visited during brunch when the restaurant wasn't particularly busy, but there was only one server working, so service felt a bit stretched. I'd come back for the atmosphere and the beautiful patio, and I might give their dinner menu a try.
